Attry Marie Due

Attry Marie Due, 100, of Louisville, died at the Episcopal Church Home, Sunday morning, October 23, 2005.

She was a retired clerk for the Pat Dry Cleaners in Cincinnati, and was formerly active with the Dan Beard Council of Boy Scouts of America of Cincinnati, and a member of Highland United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her cousins, Betty Shaak and Rosemary Harden; several other cousins; and a special care giver, Reuben.

Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, October 26, 2005, at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane, with burial at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation is from 2-6 pm Tuesday, October 25.

Memorials may go to Boy Scouts of America.

Gilbert Ross Twyman

Gilbert Ross Twyman, 97, of Clinton, MS, died Monday, February 3, 2003, at Clinton Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Twyman was born November 30, 1905, in Louisville. He moved to Jackson, MS, in 1949 and assisted in building the Mississippi Products Industries. In 1964, he moved to Clinton and lived there until his death. Mr. Twyman was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He spent 34 years in the furniture and manufacturing business, working with Adlers Storkline, MPI and DeSoto, all subsidiaries of Sears Roebuck and Company. After retiring as a draftsman engineer in 1971, he served as a consultant for Hood Industries and as a liaison manager for Gilbert Wood Products and Cleveland Industries. Gilbert had many interests, including rifle competition shooting, woodworking and photography. He was an honorary life member of the Magnolia Rifle and Revolver Club, a member of the Woodworking Association and an honorary life member of the Jackson Photographic Society.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Mary K. Twyman.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Scott Crowdus, and two grandchildren, Matthew and Megan Crowdus, all of Brandon, MS, and a niece and three nephews from Louisville.

Visitation will be from 3-6 pm Wednesday, February 5, and after 1 pm Thursday, February 6, at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home, High St. in Clinton. His funeral will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, February 8, at Resthaven Memorial Park in Louisville. Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane, in charge of local arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to a favorite charity.

Elizabeth Dawne Bergmann

Elizabeth Dawne Bergmann, 47, of Louisville, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2006, at Baptist Hospital East.

She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Tony Bergmann; sons, Wayne and Christopher Bergmann; granddaughter, Hallie Bergmann; mother, Patricia Chambers; sister, Amy Zweck (Jeff); and a niece, Tyler Zweck.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, February 11, at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane, with private burial. Visitation will be from 3-8 pm Friday, February 10.

Memorial gifts may be made to the American Heart Association.

John T. Kolb

John T. Kolb, 90, of Louisville, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2006, at the Louisville Campus of the Masonic Home.

He was born in Louisville on November 28, 1915. He was a graduate of the former Ahrens Trade School and worked his entire life as a machinist, retiring from Stamler Machine Company. After his retirement, he and his wife resided in Las Vegas for a period, before returning to Louisville.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Marie R. Kolb.

Survivors include a son, Frank T. Kolb (Christine) of Bardstown; a daughter, Mary Ann Neikirk of Louisville; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 8:00 pm Wednesday, February 22, at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Wednesday.

Deborah Elaine Culbertson

Deborah Elaine Culbertson, 46, of Louisville, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2006.

She was a member of New Life Church and the Louisville Alliance for the Mentally Ill. Deborah was a proud sponsor for Children's International, was an avid reader, and a volunteer and advocate for many charitable organizations.

She is survived by her mother, Helga Culbertson; father, Norman G. Culbertson (Debra); siblings, Kenneth B., Mark S. (Leann) and Lisa M. Culbertson, Stephanie French (Dan), Zachary A., Jessica L. and Melissa A. Culbertson. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 26, at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane, with burial in Cave Hill cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Tuesday, April 25.

Memorial gifts may go to New Life Church, 3402 Goose Creek Road, Louisville, KY 40241.

David K. Bielefeld

David K. Bielefeld, 84, of Louisville, died Saturday, April 22, 2006, at Baptist Hospital East.

He was a board member of Baptist Hospital East Foundation, Baptist Hospital East volunteer, with 15,000 hours of service. He was retired from L&N; and CSX Railroads after 42 years, a veteran of World War II Pacific Campaign, past president and board member of L&N; Federal Credit Union for 48 years, a member of Broadway Baptist Church, where he was president of the Carver Sunday School Class for 12 years, and he was the board president for 13 years of Royal Coach Condominiums.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Edna Marr Bielefeld; sisters, Martha Bielefeld and Ruth Bielefeld Knox; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom "Uncle Dave considered his children".

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, April 26, 2006, in the sanctuary of Broadway Baptist Church, 4000 Brownsboro Road, with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1-8 pm Tuesday, April 25, at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the trust funds of Broadway Baptist Church or Baptist Hospital East Foundation.

Dorothy Ann Keeling

Dorothy Ann Keeling, 85, of Louisville, died at 12 am Monday, January 1, 2007 in Palliative Care at Baptist East Hospital, after a short illness.

She was a retired nurse from Methodist Evangelical Hospital and long time member of the St. Matthews United Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William H. Keeling, M.D. of Bloomfield, KY; and her younger son, Brent Allen Keeling.

She is survived by her son William Keeling (Beverly); and her daughter, Cynthia Albright-Parrish (Jeffery); five grandchildren, Greg Albright of Cincinnati, OH, Jay Albright, of Louisville, Katie A. Carreau of Salt Lake City, UT, Brent Keeling, M.D. of Tampa, FL and Mary Beth K. Stevenson of Hebron, KY; and two great-grandchildren, Georgia and William Albright.

Funeral services are 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 3, 2006, at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane, with burial to follow in Cave Hill cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Tuesday, January 2.

Expressions of sympathy may be sent to Center for Women and Families or the American Red Cross.

Charles Henry Fritschner

Charles Henry Fritschner, 90, died Friday, December 29, 2006.

He was a graduate of Louisville Male High School, received a B.A. from the University of Louisville and an MBA from Harvard Graduate School of Business. Mr. Fritschner retired from the U.S. Marine Corps in 1946 as a Lt. Colonel. While a Marine, he was among the initial landing on Guadalcanal in 1941 and the initial landing on Okinawa in 1944. He was aboard the U.S.S. Missouri at the initial landing for the Japanese surrender on September 2, 1944.

After the war, he joined Porter Paint Company as sales manager, where he worked until 1966. He retired as a manufacturer's representative. After retirement, he worked as development director at Maryhurst, and as a volunteer at the Louisville Free Public Library, the Red Cross and the Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic. He was a member of Louisville Boat Club and the Wrangler's Mens Club.

He is survived by his second wife, the former Bonnie Honaker; sons, Seldon (Mary Anne), John (Nancy), Samuel (Ann) and daughter Sarah Fritschner (John); in addition to four stepchildren, John, Lee and Geoffrey Brandreth and Barbara Zurrer; seven grandchildren; and seven step-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, January 3, 2007, at Calvary Episcopal Church, 821 South 4th Street, with private inurnment in Cave Hill cemetery. Visitation is from 3-6 pm Tuesday, January 2 at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Louisville Free Public Library, 301 York St., Louisville, KY 40203.

Doris Lurding Eirk

Doris Lurding Eirk, 73, Louisville, died Thursday, December 28, 2006 at Baptist Hospital East.

She was a retired shipping clerk for BioProducts, Inc. Ms. Eirk was a member of Highland Chapter # 4711 AARP, Heart to Hand Knitters for Shawl Ministries and Beuchel Fire Dept. Ladies Auxillary.

Survivors include her daughter, Beth Eirk; two sons, Michael R. Erik and David L. Eirk; two brothers, Donald R. and Carroll L. Lurding; two grandchildren, Austin Edward and Hannah Marie Eirk; and her cat, Scarlett.

Memorial service to be at 12:00 noon Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane with inurnment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorial gifts may go to the Kentucky Humane Society.

Robert Norris Rothinghouse

Robert Norris Rothinghouse, 85, of Louisville, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2006 at Baptist Hospital East.

He was a native of Alexandria, IN. and a retired Pharmaceutical Representative for Wyeth. A graduate of Indiana University, he served with the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII as a Pharmacist Mate First Class. Mr. Rothinghouse was an avid outdoorsman, he dearly loved hunting and fishing and was a member of Quail Unlimited, and also a member of Harvey Browne Memorial Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by Nancy Bullock Rothinghouse, his wife of 58 years; also by two daughters Cecy R. Thompson (Jack) and Laurie Ann Rothinghouse; a niece, Jill S. Quick (Jim); and a nephew, Robert D. Sherwood (Ann).

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2006 at Harvey Browne Memorial Presbyterian Church, 311 Browns Lane, the burial will be private. Visitation begins from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane.
