Leaving one son, Chester Adkins of Greasy Creek, Kentucky and 3 daughters, Glema Charles and Myra Charles both of Shelbiana, Kentucky, and Madgaline Hockett of Versilles, Kentucky; also leaving one sister, Emma Childers of Greasy Creek, Kentucky, two half brothers, Charles and Earl Adkins, 2 half sisters, Rosie Butler and Elva Adkins, all of Cleveland, Ohio; 2nd married the late Myrtie RUNYON COLEMAN on March 3 1980; from that marriage he leaves step-sons, Clayton Coleman of Ashcamp, Kentucky; Don Coleman of Talbott, Tenn, and Elder Paul Coleman of Powells Creek Road, Pike Co., Kentucky; and one step daughter, Maggie Anderson of Millers Highway. Carmel, Indiana; 3 girls: Barbara Gindling of Okeana, Ohio, and Iva Jean, deceased; he leaves two brothers, Kelly Day of Brookville, Indiana; Harvey Day of Harrison, Ohio; two sisters, Eva Gilbert of Lawrenceburg, Indiana and Ethel Crase of Charlestown, Indiana, he was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Iva Jean; grandson, Billy Scott York; and four sisters, Luana Crase, Sally Shephard, Mary Hodge, and Martha Stamper. He joined the Old Regular Baptist Church on August 9 1949.

DUNBAR, Elder Birtus Lexie, Jr. was born: June 13 1916 to the late Birtus Lexie, Sr. and Elizabeth (Hazzard) Dunbar, died: March 6 1998; married : Doris Estelle CURRY on February 22 1940; one daughter, Dorotha Faye; one granddaughter, Jennifer Anne; one sister, Imogene Easley; he was preceded in death by hsi wife, one brother, and one sister; 2nd married : Poe ADAMS March 31 1996; step son, Clarence (Red) Adams; one step daughter, Marie Thompson. He served in WWII. He joined the Little Ida Church of Old Regular Baptist and was ordained a minister in 1967.

HALL, Elder Jeff was born: May 18 1924 Floyd Co., Kentucky son of Tom and Millie (Bryant) Hall; died: February 28 1994; married : Josie JOHNSON June 15 1942; 4 boys: Bobby, Elder Paul, and Tim, all of Albion, Michigan; and James of Grand Rapids, Michigan; 6 girls: Sue Little, Jeanette Merrill, Wilma Woods, Wanda McIntyre, and Emma Ford, all of Grand Rapids, Michigan; one son, Jackie, died in infancy; he was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Crit and Lewis Hall; two sisters, Allie and Dallie (in youth) and an older sister, Mary Caudill. He leaves his wife of 44 years, married : September 1 1953 to Frances Layne at age 15 of Jeffersonville, Kentucky; one daughter, Margaret Ann and husband Herb Smith, Jeffersonville, Kentucky; two sons, William Rex and wife Rita of Campton, Kentucky and Timothy James and wife, Melinda Sue of Kimper, Kentucky; 4 grandchildren, Wesley and Vanessa Lester of Pikeville and Chad and Rocky Lee Layne of Kimper Kentucky; 3 step grandchildren, James and Jeff Helton, and Norita Watson all of Campton, Kentucky. STILTNER, Elder Fred was born: August 6 1906 son of the late Christopher C. and Rachel (Deel) Stiltner of Buchanan Co., Virginia died: April 18 1998; married : Sallie Ellen SUTHERLAND, August 6 1929, who died November 6 1990; one son, Roland Fines died at age 14 days; also deceased, 4 brothers, Dave, Arville, Ellis and Frank; 4 sisters, Lydia Foster, Nancy Deel; he leaves, one son, Cyrus Gaines Stiltner; 5 daughters, Ninia Lois Mirtz, Lina Pearl O'Lena; Arbutus Schultz, Shelia Fern McComsy and Brenda Sue Lehman. Member of the Bull Creek Church of Old Regular Baptist for 65 years. He was a graduate of Grundy High School and attended Radford Teachers College; he taught school for 36 years in Buchanan and Dickenson Public Schools, he was a notary Public and a retired coal miner.

Adkins, Rosanna Wells, Patricia Hopkins, and Tammy Sellars; having being orphaned at an early age he and his siblings were raised by Parsada Coleman, grandmother. He was retired coal miner for over 30 yrs. Member of the Church of Old Regular Baptist.

BOGGS, Willard was born: April 7 1913 Greenup, Kentucky to Dock and Carrie (Holbrook) Boggs, he was the last of 7 brothers, one sister, four half brothers and three half sisters, died: October 11 1997; married : Lenora STONE, February 4 1935; two sons, Donald R. and Rev. He was a disabled Coal Miner and a veteran of WWII; he served 2 yrs in the Navy from 1944-46; September 8 1947, he married : Josie SENTER; they lived in Dickenson Co on Ramsey Ridge; 2 girls: Brenda Elaine (Norman) Owens, and Angela Rebecca (Larry) Smoak; and 2 sons: Carter and Jimmy Nelson died: October 12 1997 and Carter died at birth; 2 sisters: Lockie Cumbo and Flora Ratliff; 3 brothers: Wilburn "Bone", Cowan and Tony Branham.

RIDDLE, Gladys was born August 29 1917 at Etty, Kentucky died: May 6 1998; daughter of Willile and Pearl Lee Riddle; survived by two sons: Randall (Pam) Osborne of Jonancy, Kentucky; and Ira (Teresa) Branham of Pikeville, Kentucky; she was preceded in death by two brothers, Nicolas Dean Riddle and Walter Riddle; and one sister, Nona Lee Thacker; she is survived by 5 sisters: Shirley Deskins of Daytona Beach, Fla; Bessie Lowe of Anderson, SC; Jacqueline Mullins of Harold, Kentucky; Nettie Gibson of Oceana, West Virginia; and Hazel Damron of Justiceville, Kentucky; and two brothers, Bill of Collins Hwy, Pikeville, Kentucky; 1st married : Alvin OSBORNE after his death she married : Ira BRANHAM, 1978.

BROWN, Isadore was born October 20 1912 to Martin and Louisa (Mullins) Brown in Dickenson Co., Virginia; he married : Nancy WRIGHT on November 28 1930; 9 children: sons: Charles, Jemas, Hansel, Lloyd Allen, Bruce and Cecil: Girls: Gladys, Ruby and Catherine; 3 children, Charles, Bruce and Catherine all deceased. TUTTLE, Clovia was born February 3 1939 in Knott Co., Kentucky; the daughter of Lile (Thornsbury) Tuttle and the late Henry Tuttle of Kite, Kentucky; she died: June 9 1998 at the McDowell Appalachian Hospital in McDowell, Kentucky; she married : the late Martin CALHOUN on December 23 1961; 6 children. Member of the Sulphur Springs Church of Old Regular Baptist.

CANTRELL, James born June 23 1920 died: December 24 1970, son of the late George Cantrell and Bessie (Swiney) Cantrell; married : Hazel CONLEY; children (see above); 3 sisters: Phyllis Cure and Nancy Hyler both of Elkhorn City, Kentucky; and Gladys Huffman, deceased; 3 brothers, John and Mack both of Elkhorn City, Kentucky and Charles of Cincinnati, Ohio. CANTRELL, Terry C. born: February 18 1933 in Pike Co., Kentucky died: December 7 1995 at Holston Valley Hospital, Kingsport, Tenn; son of the late Ezra Cantrell and Dorsie Opal (Mullins) Cantrell; preceded him in death is his son, Kyle Edward died: July 9 1983; he leaves his wife, Carol Sue Cantrell of Jenkins, Kentucky; a son, Chris of Jenkins, Kentucky and a daughter, Toni Jo Salyer of Whitesburg, Kentucky. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #856, Jenkins, Kentucky; he served with the 82nd Airborne Screaming Eagles during the Korean Conflict. Member of the Hylton Church of Old Regular Baptist.

Sterling, Kentucky. He was baptized December 29 1996.

WARD, Bertha was born: October 31 1919 died: March 8 1998; daughter of Milton Blair and Sarah Margaret (Stacy) Ward; she was a lifelong resident of Buchanan Co., Virginia; married : Harvey CHURCH, March 23 1931 who died: April 2 1973; 6 children, Arlene Gay died: March 12 1944 at age 12 days; and her youngest son, Hollin died: after a heart attack on March 7 1987; she is survived by 3 daughters: Pauline (John) Hurley; Narcy (Buford) Stacy; and Janet (Clyde) Justus all of Grundy, Virginia; one son, Levil of Big Rock, Virginia; she is preceded in death also by 4 brothers: Sidney Ward, Cecil, Johnny and Grover Ward; also 5 sisters: Mattie Ward, Ersie Ward, Cora King, Mary Good and Victoria Mullins; two surviving sisters: Flora Church and Birdie Slone both of Grundy, Virginia. Coleman of Elkhorn City, Kentucky; Clarence (Sue) Coleman of Shelbiana, Kentucky; Elmer (Paula Gail) Coleman Lookout, Kentucky; Jimmie Dale (Pebble) Coleman of Wolfpit, Kentucky; Benny Randall (Lila Kay) Coleman of Shelbiana, Kentucky; Tonia Lyvonne Coleman. COLEMAN, Victor was born: October 28 1921 at Winwright, Kentucky died: November 1 1997 at his home at Justiceville, Kentucky; he was the youngest son of Ol and Ida (Adkins) Coleman; he was preceded in death by his parents, 7 brothers: Charles, Joe, James, Ted, Ernest, George, and Frank; 2 sisters: Meyl and Elva Coleman; he leaves one sister: Edith Ratliff of Winwright, Kentucky; married : Carrie JUSTICE, August 14 1946; he is survived by his wife, one son, Victor Dale (Brenda) Coleman and 4 daughters: Nina Sue (Marlin) Newsome; Vivian (Bob) Childers; Pam (Harold) Gunter; and Marcia (Curtis) Wallace; he was a WWII Army Veteran; he served as a Sergeant in the Signal Corps in the Aleutian Islands in Alaska; he retired from the Kentucky Power Co. in 1985. Joined the Rebecca Church of Old Regular Baptist on July 4 1976 at the Greasy Creek and was baptized on July 10 1976 by Elder Orban May and Ted Coleman. He was ordained Deacon on October 13 1976; he was also a borrowed deacon of the Ratliff Church of Old Regular Baptist.
