TACKETT, Nola daughter of the late Solomon and Elvira Tackett, born: March 24 1932 died: August 22 1997 (Cancer); 1st married : Earmon JOHNSON, deceased; 4 children: 3 boys and one girl; one son, James preceded her in death; she leaves two boys: Trilvie of Shelby Gap, Kentucky; and Charles of Dorton, Kentucky; one girl: Elvie Jane Godsey of Neon, Kentucky. 2nd married : Gary KANE, no children, she also leaves, 4 brothers: Nornvel Tackett of Dorton, Kentucky; Cornvel, Roy and William Tackett all of Jonancy, Kentucky; and one sister, Anna Marie Tackett of Plymouth, Ohio; one brother deceased.

His wife had one daughter by a prior marriage, Shirley; two sons, Jimm and Teddy both of Grundy; his brothers were: Willard, Allen and Burnis; 3 sisters: Margie, Mary and Ethel; deceased are: 4 brothers: John, Homer, Burgess and Benton, and one sister: Carrie. He was of the Old Regular Baptist faith.

LITTLE, John Henry was born: September 19 1937 to Henry and Wyomia (Tackett) Little died: July 29 1997; he is preceded in death by his father, Henry, his mother, Wyomia, and his baby sister, Erinasten Little; married : Helen Gean DORTON, December 22 1961; 6 children, 5 girls: Linda Jesensky of Mims, Fla; Loura Yates of Caney Hopkins Ford Rd, Kentucky; Tonda Cline of Mims, Fla; Ellen Hagerman of Lig Indiana; Brenda Newsome of Weeksbury, Kentucky; and one son, Johnny Little of Collins Highway, Kentucky. He also leaves, 5 step children, 3 brothers: Willis, Lloyd and Donlin Little all of Michigan; 3 sisters: Georgia Little of Michigan; Barbara Nixon of Florida and Carolyn Hamilton of Betsy Layne, Kentucky. Joined the Caney Creek Church of Old Regular Baptist, April 5 1986.

REYNOLDS, Lona was born: April 13 1916 to Henry and Victoria (Newsome) Reynolds in Penny, Kentucky died: June 3 1998; married : Jay Lee LITTLE; 7 children, 5 died in infancy; also preceded her in death was her husband, and son, Jay Lee Little, Jr.; she leaves one son, Edgar (June) Little. Joined the Robinson Creek Church of Old Regular Baptist, January 1 1951.

STILTNER, Essie Mae, she is preceded in death by her husband, George "Buster" LOONEY, one brother, Anderson Stiltner, and one sister, Annie Stiltner. She leaves, her children: Helen Boyd, and Bobby Gene Looney; two sisters, Macie Stiltner and Mary Jane Stiltner; and one brother, Sol Stiltner.

KISER, Helena born: April 7 1951 to Webster and Mary (Clevinger) Kiser of Rockhouse, Kentucky; died: October 22 1996 in Elgin, Illinois from injuries she substained in an explosion in the lab where she had worked for 25 years; married : Oscar LOPEZ; 3 children: April Darlene, Paula Denise and Martin Oscar all of Streamwood, Illinois; she leaves her parents, and children, 3 sisters: Rhonda Bartley of Lookout Kentucky; Patty Gilliam of Belfry, Kentucky; and Karen Chadorowski of Hanover Park, Illinois; two brohters, Freddie, and Jeffrey Kiser of Lookout.

MULLINS, Noble and Esta, They married : in Clintwood, Virginia on June 28 1955; 5 children: Sondra, Timothy, Keith, Michelle, and Dawn who preceded them in death; he is also survived by 5 brothers, and 5 sisters, while 3 brothers are deceased; she is survived by 3 brothers and one sister. Noble died: December 23 1997 at age 63 at his home; Esta died: March 10 1998 due to cancer. Both were born in Kentucky, Noble later moved to Jackson, Ohio, they were married in Virginia and started their family in South Shore, Kentucky, they later moved to Indiana, then back to Jackson, Ohio in 1973 to be close to their family. They were members of the Church of Old Regular Baptist in Beaver, Ohio.

NEWBERRY, Michael Douglas was born: March 2 1958 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and was cruelly murdered on May 10 1998 while living in Russelville, Tenn; his wife of two days, Joyce HENSEN died with him. He leaves his two children: Shannon Michael Newberry and Holly L. Newberry of Sevierville, Tenn; his parents, Jessie Woodrow and betty R. Newberry; one brother, Randy David Newberry of Rutledge, Tenn; and grandparents: Elmer R. and Lona Murvile Clevinger; he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Sherman and Alta Newberry.

NEWSOME, Jay Lee and Annie. Jay Lee was born: August 27 1918 to Daniel and Rodine (Hamilton) Newsome at McDowell, Kentucky. He was killed in a mining accident on August 26 1960; married : Annie Hall on September 14 1934 daughter of Wayne and Margaret Elizabeth (Newsome) Hall of McDowell, Kentucky; They had 3 boys and 6 girls: Phylistine Mitchell, Madeline Mitchell, Klinnon, and Arnold Newsome all of Grethel, Kentucky; Clyde Newsome, and Neveline Blankenship of Wolcottville, Indiana; Charlene Hoover and Emma Grace Emery of Warsaw, Indiana; and Ruthie Tuttle LaGrange. Annie died: October 11 1997 in Warsaw, Indiana at age 79 yrs, 10 mos, and 8 days of age.

O'QUINN, Daniel was born: October 16 1925 died: July 7 1998, son of Rufus and Lettie O'Quinn, deceased; also deceased are 3 brothers, Clell, Eugene and Jessie; married : Grace HESS; 5 children: Eva Lois Owens of Bristol, Tenn; Gail Jacobs of Tampa, Fla; Douglas M. of Birchleaf, Virginia; John R. of Abingdon, Virginia; and James M. of Vansant, Virginia. He is also survived by, 5 brothers, James, Lawrence, Frank, Newton, and Ted; 4 sisters: Plina Deel, Charlotte Rose, Fern Rose, and Pattie Baber; his stepmother, Polly McClanahan.

O'QUINN, Granville was born: May 26 1907 died: September 24 1997, married : Crettie COLEMAN, September 28 1929 who died: October 3 1991; 6 children, Pearlie Deel, Ival Jean Deel, and Ulan O'Quin and 3 children who preceded him in death, Clinard O'Quinn, Ruby Mullins, and Lloyd O'Quinn; also leaves 3 sisters: Dora Coleman, Rosie Coleman, and Carrie O'Quinn. Member of the Church of Old Regular Baptist.

O'QUINN, Jessie Clarence, Sr. was born: February 23 1939 died: December 22 1997 Cancer; son of the late Rufus and Lettie O'Quinn; he was preceded in death by two brothers, Clell and Eugene O'Quinn; he leaves his wife, Betty CLINE, and a daughter, Pam (Wayne) Sullivan, a grandson, Justin Sullivan; six brothers, James Henry, Daniel, Lawrence, Franklin, Newton, and Ted O'Quinn; 4 sisters: Plina Deel, Charlotte Rose, Fern Rose, and Pattie Baber; his stepmother, Polly McClannahan. Jessie moved to Haysi, Virginia to Charlottesville, Virginia in 1958 and was employed by Avis Rent-a-Car for 39 years.

O'QUINN, Rody Harlen was born: January 18 1938 to Corbett and Peggy (Conaway) O'Quinn died: September 26 1997; he was preceded in death by his wife, Bunice O'QUINN and one brohter Vadie O'Quinn; he is survived by his mother, 4 brothers: Jones, Jackie, Jerry and Teddy O'Quinn; 7 sisters: Mazie Wood, Darlene Church, Dora Church, Hazel Hackney, Helen Rose, Betsy Cantrell, and Kathy Sykes.

OSBORNE, Paul D. was born: July 22 1943 in Wise Co., Virginia; died: August 8 1998; he was preceded in death by his father, Elder James Albert Osborne, two brothers, and three sisters. Survivors include: his wife, Nancy Corder Osborne; two sons, Brian, David, and daughter- in-law Lisa; his mother, Geneva Osborne Miller; 3 sisters: Ellen Hall, Buelah Greear, and Edith McCoy; 4 brothers: Jessee, Marvin, Adam and Martin. He was employed by ANR Coal Company for 20 years. Member of the Sandy Ridge Church of Old Regular Baptist.

LITTLE, Pricie was born: December 21 1903 Pike Co., Kentucky to Hilbert and Delilah Little; died: February 1 1990; married : Grant OSBORNE, September 4 1919; 15 children; Her husband, and 5 children, Cecil, Wanota, Beatrice, Clayton, and Adam preceded her in death. She leaves 3 sons: Andrew J. of LaFollette, Tenn; Arbit of Varney, West Virginia; and Paul of South Webster, Ohio; 7 girls: Cellia Dempsey of Belo, West Virginia; Thelma Compton of Southgate, Michigan; Delilah Irwin of Jamestwon, PA; Cuba Ditty of Lincoln Park, Michigan; Myrtle Sellars of Southgate, Michigan; Louise Cave of Newport News, Virginia; and Phyllis Boggs of Maloneton, Kentucky; one brother, Cassel Little of Evansville, Ind; 3 sisters: Dacie Osborne of Pound, Virginia; Lillie Tackett of Virgie, Kentucky; and Oma Seymore of Southgate, Michigan. Member of the Church of Old Regular Baptist for 56 years.

OWENS, John Henry was born: November 16 1926 died: October 19 1997, married : Ella O'QUINN, December 19 1948; 5 children; he leaves his wife, children: Garry, Darrell, Patty, Keith and Jackie; 3 brothers, Trinkle, Doley, and Dock Owens; 3 sisters: Emel Owens; Opal Garrett; and Sylvia Turner; two half- brothers, Phillip and Burlin Owens; 4 half sisters: Roxie Jackson, Vonda Shortage, Susie Conaway and Hilda Boyd. He was preceded in death by, his parents, his stepmother, Snoda Owens, two sisters, Vandora and Stella Owens and one half brother, Vernon Owens.

CAUDILL, Ethel was born: February 2 1912 in Letcher Co., Kentucky daughter of the late John Caudill and Polly Caudill; died: June 28 1998; married : Sam POLLY, September 19 1939, deceased; 4 children: Pauline Cornett and Mary Evelyn Puckett of Elkhorn City, Kentucky; Earl Dean Polly and Ruby Jean Cornett of Orlando, Fla. He also leaves, one brother, Arvil Caudill of Leasburg, NC. Member of the Bull Creek Church of Old Regular Baptist in Letcher Co., Kentucky. She was baptized by Beckham Fields and Crit Eldridge in November 1952.

POTTER, Hassel was born: February 26 1916 in Pike Co., Kentucky died: November 4 1997 son of the late George and Sarah Ann (Sykes) Potter; he was also preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Potter. He is survived by one daughter, Angie Nita (Gerald Thomas) Rowe of Elkhorn City, Kentucky; two sons, Grondall Gene (Yolanda Coleman) Potter of Lebanon, Virginia; and Clayton Racine (Mary Francis Rowe) Potter of Elkhorn City, Kentucky; one brother, Clayton Potter of Ustus, Fla; 3 sisters: Effie Bartley of Elkhorn City, Nora Marie Deel of Kingsport, Tenn; and Zelma Cantrell of Deland, Florida. He was a deacon of the Sulphur Springs Church of Old Regular Baptist.

WALLACE, Hazel was born: November 18 1909 died: February 10 1998 daughter of Bleve "Bev" and Caroline (Deel) Wallace of Elkhorn City, Kentucky, Pike County; married : William Melvin POTTER, deceased; she was preceded in death by her husband, a sn, William Beverly Potter; brothers: Hassel, Gus and Curtis Wallace and a sister, Corbie Whitley; Her and Bev lived in Kingston, West Virginia and Wyandotte, Mich before moving to Florida after he retired from Wyandotte Chemical Company; She leaves, a sister, Rushie Cure of Elkhorn City, Kentucky; a brohter, Ralph of Cookville, Tenn; daughters, Alma Creighton of Carthage, NC; Ellen June (Thomas) Johnson of Knoxville, Tenn; Mae Sue (Edsel) Grandmason of Seminole, Fla; a son, Daniel Franklin (Judith Thompson) Potter of Taylor, Mich. Buried in Palatka Memorial Gardens cemetery at Palatka, Fla.

PROFITT, Joe son of the late Jessie Edward and Mary Ellen (Smith) Profitt, born: January 17 1902, Letcher Co., Kentucky; died: October 12 1997 at his home in Cleveland, Ohio; married : the late Rebecca June FULTON; survived by two sons, Joe, Jr. (deceased) of Sullivan, Ohio; and Rev. Conrad Profitt of Whitesburg, Kentucky; 4 daughters, Rosa Meade of Cleveland, Ohio; Ruby Meade of Grafton, Ohio; Mary Chambers of Port Richie, Fla; and Thelma Trosper of Wise, Virginia. He was also preceded in death by, two sons, Fernoy Profitt and Willard Profitt; one daughter, Virginia Profitt; 6 brothers, John, Steve, Alex, Conley, Jimmy and Theodore Profitt; 3 sisters, Elizabeth Profitt, Janey Adams and Luisa Collier. He was crippled as a result of working in the coal mines.

RAMSEY, Evans son of the late Daniel and Hannah Ramsey, born: May 6 1911 on Ramsey Ridge in Dickenson Co., Virginia; died: at age 85 yrs, 4 mos, and 27 days of age; married : Chloe WOOD, April 15 1938; two children, Leon Ramsy and Arlen Ramsey; 10 sisters, Ester Brooks, Lura McKinney, Pansy Edwards, Agnes White, Josey Alderson, Edra Rhiner, Arbutis Goins, Lockie "Ray" Kilburn, Magie Duncan and Luvern Austin. Joined the Church of Old Regular Baptist at Ramsey Ridge on September 10 1983. He was ordained as a deacon on February 8 1986.

Clint was born: December 8 1910 at Jackson, Kentucky died: September 28 1997, son of the late Christopher and Vergie Ratliff; Jane was born: March 29 1916 in Pound, Virginia and died: December 6 1997 daughter of Silas and Navada (Hubbard) Boggs; they married : September 15 1934 in Seco, Kentucky; 5 children, Navada Edwards of Centerville, Tenn; Loretta Smith of Pierceton, Indiana; James Clint Ratliff of Pierceton, Indiana (deceased); Rosemary (died in infancy) and Kenneth Lee (died in infancy). Member of the Little Dove Church of Old Regular Baptist.
