William A. Glindmeyer, 71, of Covington, died at 1 a.m. Monday at his home. He was a retired Covington firefighter and a former Covington fire marshal. He was a member of Kolping Society of Cincinnati, Covington Turners, Navy Seabees, Northern Kentucky Firefighters Association and the Holy Name Society of Mother of God Church. He was a master mechanic and a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, M. Verna Glindmeyer; a son, William A. Glindmeyer Jr. of Cincinnati; daughters, Theresa A. Klosterman of Glenburn, Md., Angela D. Doellman of Erlanger and Carol A. Glindmeyer of Oklahoma; a brother, Ralph W. Glindmeyer of Ft. Mitchell and five grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John Church, Covington. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Don Catchen and Son Funeral Home, Covington. Kolping Society services will be at 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Ft. Wright. Martha Katherine Gonnelly Guy, 82, of Latonia, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington.

Della Florence Wilson Guyton, 87, of Maysville, died Monday at Maysville Extended Care Center. She was a homemaker and a member of Germantown Christian Church. She also was a former member of Northside Christian Church and Germantown Festival Committee.
Her husband, Kenneth Paul Guyton, died in 1976. Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Palmer Funeral Home, Germantown. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Germantown. Memorials are suggested to Germantown Christian Church, Germantown 41044.

Emma J. Leicht, 71, of Bellevue, died at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday at her home. She was a homemaker.
Her husband, Clifford R. Leicht, died in 1980.
Survivors include daughters, Cynthia Leicht of Bellevue, Deborah Ferry of Harrison, Ohio, and Donna Stull of Covington; sons, Clifford Leicht Jr. of Loveland, Ohio, Leslie Leicht of Highland Heights, Gregory Leicht and Douglas Leicht, both of Cold Spring; sisters, Pauline Jacobs of Foster and Geraldine Fithen of Bethel, Ohio; and 11 grandchildren.

Viola Jane Enzweiler Nagel, 80, of Cincinnati, formerly of Camp Springs, died Monday at Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati. She was a homemaker and a member of Oakland Methodist Church, Melbourne.
Survivors include a stepson, Thomas C. Nagel of Bellevue; a stepdaughter, Laura Katherine Pabst of Seminole, Fla.; a sister, Hazel Enzweiler of Cincinnati; 12 grandchildren and 17 great- grandchildren.

Conrad "Connie" Timothy Ryan, 73, of New Port Richey, Fla., formerly of Northern Kentucky, died July 19 at Columbia Medical Hospital in New Port Richey. He was a retired part- owner of Southern Lanes, Alex andria. Survivors include his wife, Vickie Jones Ryan; daughters, Connie Doyle of Rabbit Hash and Debbie Ryan of New Port Richey; a son, Mark Ryan of Oxford, Ohio; and three grandchildren.

Howard Lee "Johnny" Stewart, 71, of Cincinnati, formerly of Newport, died Tuesday at Mt. Washington Care Center in Cincinnati. He was owner of an auto repair shop and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include daughters, Norma Brockman of Elsmere, Sheila Mullins of Villa Hills, Brenda Morgan of Southgate and Lori Cromer of Newport; a brother, Murrel Stewart of New Castle, Ind.; sisters, Betty Conlon and Shela Fatsy, both of Cincinnati; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell.

William Kroth, athletic sponsor
William J. Kroth, owner of the Hilltop Inn in south Newport, had the best seat in the house when it came to Little League baseball.
For 20 years, Mr. Kroth sponsored teams and allowed parents to park at the field adjacent to his bar. When he wasn't serving his customers, he spent many days watching children from 5 through 13 belt home runs, run the bases and win games.
But he often considered himself the biggest winner because he was at peace watching chil dren play, said his wife of 51 years, Mary Hogan Kroth of Newport.
"He was a very devoted family man. He was a good husband and one of the most honorable men I have known in my life," Mrs. Kroth said.
Mr. Kroth, 69, of Newport, died at 4 a.m. Wednesday at his home. He was a glazier, president of Belle Acres Sportsman's Club and a member of Kersten O'Day Sportsman's Club. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
The Kroths had a concession stand next to the baseball field and watched generations of little baseball players grow up and have children of their own.
Mr. Kroth grew up in Newport and spent his earlier career building storefronts in Cincinnati.
"And he was close to his grandchildren. They liked to go fishing with him," Mrs. Kroth said.
Other survivors include a son, William J. Kroth of Newport; a daughter, Linda Kroth Forster of Alexandria; brothers, Robert Kroth Jr. of Highland Heights and Ronald Kroth of Bellevue; a sister, Jo Ann Little of Fontana, Calif.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Ft. Thomas. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.

William Gene Applegate, 41, of Newport, died Tuesday at his home. He was a member of Newport Church of God.
Survivors include brothers, Don Applegate and Anthony Applegate, both of Newport, Robert Applegate of Ft. Wright; sisters, Gloria Lucus and Debbie Griffith, both of Newport.

Constance J. Bailey, 49, of Erlanger, died at 1:10 p.m. Tuesday at Lakeside Place Nursing, Highland Heights. She was a homemaker and a former quality control technician with Bluegrass Quality Meats, Crescent Springs.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth L. Bailey; a daughter, Jill K. Bailey of Erlanger; her mother, Lula Heideman of Erlanger; a brother, Jeffrey Heideman of Cincinnati; and a sister, Deborah Arnwine of Nashville, Tenn.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger.

Gertrude Clemmons, 79, of Petersburg, died at 9 p.m. Tuesday at Woodspoint Nursing Home, Florence. She was a former food service worker with Drawbridge Inn, Ft. Mitchell. Her husband, Clifford H. Clemmons, died in 1966.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen Hegge of Burlington; a son, Gary Clemmons of Crittenden; a stepson, Alfred Clemmons of Indianapolis; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Edward L. Gollar Jr., 77, of Lakeside Park, died at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday at St. Charles Care Center, Covington. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Ft. Mitchell, the Sierra Club, and was a Navy veteran of World War II. His wife, Ann K. Green Gollar, died in 1988.
Survivors include sons, Edward L. Gollar III of Crestview Hills, William Spalding Gollar of Independence, Walker Gollar and Charles Gollar, both of Covington; a daughter, Nell Granger of Lebanon, N.J.; and eight grandchildren.
