He was crippled in the coal mines, and then he went to school and prepared himself as a teacher. He taught school for awhile then he went to the University of Kansas City, MO, Medical School and graduated with highest honors. He moved to Elkhorn City and practiced his profession until his heart attack June 20 1949. He was Mayor of Elkhorn City for 15 years. Member of the Old Regular Baptist Church.
