Ashley Kaye Rynes, 17, of La Grange, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004.

She was a student at Oldham County High School.

Survivors include her father, Gary Wayne Rynes of French Lick, Ind.; her mother, Dianne McCarty of La Grange; a sister, Amy Rynes of French Lick; and her grandmother, Ellen McCarty of La Grange.

Services were Wednesday at Arch L. Heady Radcliffe Funeral Home.

Connie Sue Williams, 49

La Grange

Connie Sue Williams, 49, of La Grange, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004, at Baptist Hospital Northeast.

She was a native of Pewee Valley, a cashier for Wal-Mart in La Grange and a member of Pewee Valley Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Trever (Agelina) Williams of La Grange; a brother, Johnny Troxell of La Grange; two daughters, Jennifer (Damon) Turner and Stephanie Williams, both of La Grange; parents, Johnny and Elizabeth Troxell; her mother-in-law, Mary Lee Williams; and three grandchildren, Kylie Hedges, Austin and Ashley Foust.

Services were Wednesday at Stoess Funeral Home. The Rev. Tony Rose officiated with burial at Mt. Tabor cemetery.

Memorial gifts may be made to the American Heart Association.

Frances Regina Thacker, 89

Frances Regina Thacker, 89, of Louisville, died Nov. 25, 2004, at Jefferson Place in Louisville.

She was the former Frances Gaddie, a native of Jefferson County, a retired auditor for the IRS after serving for 30 years and a member of Buckner Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Thacker Sr. and her stepson, Paul Thacker Jr.

Survivors include a sister, Dorothy Klein of Wellington, Kan.; two stepdaughters, Helen Owen and Pauline Hardy, both of Louisville; one stepgranddaughter; six stepgrandsons; five nieces; and six nephews.

Services were Saturday at Stoess Funeral Home in Crestwood, with the Rev. Brian Shoemaker, pastor of Buckner Baptist Church, officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen cemetery.

Thelma Pauline Parrish, 95

Thelma Pauline Parrish, 95, of La Grange, died Nov. 25, 2004, in Bedford.

She was born Dec. 25, 1908, in Westport to the late Thomas E. Weekly and Nettie J. Kent. She was a homemaker and a member of 18 Mile Baptist Church.

Survivors include two grandchildren, Mike Collier and Paula Morrison of La Grange; two great-grandchildren, Michael Collier and Megan Collier of La Grange; one great-great grandchild, Hailey Collier of La Grange; and two sisters, Daisy Raney of La Grange and Martha Stevens of Florida.

Services were Monday at Arch L. Heady Radcliffe Funeral Home in La Grange, with the Rev. Barry Harkness and Terry Stallard officiating. Burial followed in Valley of Rest cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jerry Weakly, Michael Collier, Charlie Williams, Chris Williams, David Weakly, Johnny Weakly and David Weakly.

Honorary Pallbearer was John Warren.

Memorial gifts may go to 18 Mile Baptist Church.

Donald Ray King, 66

Donald Ray King, 66, of Pewee Valley, died Nov. 25, 2004, at Kindred Hospital of Louisville.

He was a native of Corbin, a retired employee of the Ford Kentucky Truck Plant and a member of Crestwood Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, the former Ann Ball; his son, Chris King of Crestwood; a brother, Chester King of Charleston, S.C.; and a sister, Wilma Wilson of Knoxville, Tenn.

Services were Monday at Stoess Funeral Home in Crestwood, with the Rev. Chris Platt, associate pastor of Crestwood Baptist Church, officiating. Entombment followed at Louisville Memorial Gardens East.

Pallbearers were Richard Arnold, Ronald Buckman, Mike Bryant, Al Clayton, Scotty Sears and Stephen Sears.

Memorial gifts may go to Crestwood Baptist Church building fund.

Robert H. 'Bob' Kelley, 89

Robert H. "Bob" Kelley, 89, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004.

He was born in Valley View to the late Lowney and Allie Tillett Kelley. He was a carpenter, retired from Citizens Lumber Company and a World War II Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Edgar, Floyd and Reece Kelley; and two sisters Katherine Griffith and Mildred Frances Kelley.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Waller Kelley; a son, Tom (Linda) Kelley of Lexington; three daughters, Thelma (Jess) Hoffman of La Grange, Ann (Ted) Brann of Lexington and Doris (Joe) Billings of La Grange; seven grandchildren, Suzanne Simpson, Jesse Hoffman Jr., Keith Hoffman, Andrea Beasley, Todd Brann, Jamie Simms and Christopher Billings; three great-grandchildren, Natasha Hoffman, John Hayden Beasley and Anna Grace Simpson; a sister, Cora McGinnis of Lexington; and two brothers, Russell Kelley of Bedford and Arlie Kelley of Lexington.

Services were Nov. 13 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Main St. with the Rev. David Kelley officiating. Burial followed in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Pallbearers were his grandsons, Jesse Hoffman Jr., Keith Hoffman, Todd Brann, Christopher Billings, Bradley Simms and John Beasley.

William Harrison Holmes, 65

William Harrison Holmes, 65, of Pewee Valley, died November 28, 2004, at his home.

He was a native of Letcher County, an Army veteran and was retired from the Ford Truck Plant after 30 years of service.

Survivors include a daughter, Angela McKnight of Crestwood; two grandsons, Mason and Christopher; a brother, Ray Holmes of Washington; and three sisters, Beatrice Fay Finley of Washington, Frances Anderson of Chicago and Brenda Darlene Hall of Frankfort.

Services were Wednesday at Stoess Funeral Home in Crestwood, with the Rev. Bob Rogers, pastor of Evangel, officiating. Burial followed in Floydsburg cemetery.

Charles Edward Gwin, 83

Charles Edward Gwin, 83, of Bedford, died Nov. 27, 2004, at his residence.

He was born Oct. 24, 1921, in Lafayette, Ind. and was a member of Grace Full Gospel Church in Bedford.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Smith.

Survivors include a son, Danny Gwin of La Grange, seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services were Tuesday at the Grace Full Gospel Church with Pastor Brent O'Neal officiating. Burial followed in Hanson cemetery in Monroe County.

Day & Carter Mortuary handled the arrangements.

Samuel Gill, 83

Samuel Gill, 83, of Louisville, died Nov. 26, 2004, at the VA Medical Center.

He was a member of Middletown VFW No. 1170, Zachary Taylor American Legion, Preston F&AM; Lodge No. 281, Crestwood Moose Lodge and retired from the Federal Department of Agriculture with 32 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Stephanie Phillips.

Survivors include a daughter, Jo Ann "J.P." Phillips; a son, Ronald L. Gill; a brother, Joe Gill; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services were Monday at Stoess Funeral Home in Crestwood, with Father Cass Volpert, retired, officiating. Burial followed in Floydsburg cemetery.

Victoria Carole Ferguson, 44

Victoria Carole Ferguson, 44, of La Grange, died Nov. 18, 2004, in La Grange.

She was born April 6, 1960, in Los Cruz, N.M. to David Rehr and Geri Blankenbiller. She was the director of Goshen Elementary's after-school program and a member of La Grange Christian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Cary R. Ferguson; three children, Richard, Britta and Lacy Ferguson; her father, David (Ginny) Rehr of Charleston, S.C.; her mother, Geri Crowley of Cincinnati; and two sisters, Peggy and Lisa Chernoff of Albuquerque, N.M.

Services were Nov. 23 at La Grange Christian Church, with the Rev. Don Naftz officiating.

Memorial gifts may go to Henry's Ark Zoo in Prospect.

Arrangements were handled by Arch L. Heady Radcliffe Funeral home in La Grange.

Janie Ruth Gilliam Clore, 87

Janie Ruth Gilliam Clore, 87, of Crestwood, died Nov. 28, 2004, at Baptist East Hospital.

She was born Aug. 15, 1917, in Christian County to Rasmus Elden Gilliam Sr. and Mary Chester Gant Gilliam.

She was a graduate of Bryan Station Business School in Louisville, a former employee of attorney Guthrie Crowe, a 50-year member of the Crestwood Civic Club, 60-year member of Crestwood Christian Church, past member of Pewee Valley Women's Club, a Meals on Wheels volunteer and 25-year volunteer at Baptist East Hospital.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul, Hugh, R.E. and William Alfred; a sister, Mary; and her husband, Carl Clore Jr.

Survivors include a son, Lee Stanton (Marcia) Clore of Crestwood; a daughter, Carla Clore (Robert) Jones of Crestwood; six grandchildren, Dr. Lee Stanton Clore Jr. of Owensboro, June Ann Clore Ramsey of Bowling Green, Emily Ruth Snowden Clore of Boston, Ann-Clore Jones Duncan of Edmond, Okla., Clay Waldner Jones of Crestwood, Robert Gant Jones of Boston; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today (Thursday) at Stoess Funeral Home in Crestwood, with burial in Harrod's Creek cemetery.

Memorial gifts may go to Crestwood Christian Church.

Samuel (Sammy) Belk Carithers Sr., 69

Samuel (Sammy) Belk Carithers Sr., 69, of Elberton, Ga., died Nov. 23, 2004, at Elbert Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Elbert County to the late H.G. Carithers and Julia Margaret (Dinky) Dove Carithers. He was a member of the Elberton First United Methodist Church, the Elks Club of Elberton and Selenas, Calif., Bassmasters and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He was an Army veteran, serving in the Korean and Vietnam conflicts, a retired master sergeant with 23 years of service and a former sales manager of Selenas County Appliance.

Survivors include two daughters, Denise Marie Carithers of Merced, Calif. and Yevette Faye Chapa of Madera, Calif.; one son, Samuel Belk Carithers Jr. of Fresno, Calif.; one sister, Jimmie Carol Spratlin of La Grange; three grandchildren; and two nephews.

Services were Saturday at the Elmhurst cemetery in Elberton, with the Rev. Terry Phillips officiating.

Pallbearers were Richey Eckler, J.M. Thomason, Charles Fortson, Boyd Outz, Pete Anderson and Marice Bond.

Honorary pallbearers were Frank Griffith, Nelson Bettis, Larry Veal, Harley Thomason, Walter McNeely and Chandler Barton.

Memorial gifts may go to Hospice at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens, Ga.

Berry Funeral Home in Elberton handled the arrangements.

Joann Wilmouth, 61

Joann Wilmouth, 61, of Crestwood, died Nov. 6, 2004, in Crestwood.

She was born April 27, 1943, in Oldham County to the late John Gray and Ella Moore.

She was a certified medical technician at The Richwood.

Survivors include three sons, Gary, Robert and Arnold Fletcher; three daughters; Theresa James, Laura Fletcher and Linda Hardin; two brothers, John and Paul Gray; three sisters, Ruth Parton, Ellen Hicks and Carolyn Rydner; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services were Nov. 8 at Arch L. Heady Radcliffe Funeral Home with Brother Jerry Shelly officiating. Burial followed in Sulphur cemetery.

Memorial gifts may go to Hospice and Palliative Care of Louisville.
