Mrs. Virginia R. Martin, 83, formerly of Princeton, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at Bortz Health Care Center in Rose City, Mich., following a short illness.
Graveside services will be conducted Monday, April 2, at 1 p.m. at Cedar Hill cemetery with the Rev. Dean Ray officiating.
There will be no visitation.

Virginia Jackson, 81, formerly of Princeton, died Friday, March 23, 2001, at IHS Heritage Park in Plano, Texas.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, March 30, at 10 a.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Sam Donahue officiating.
Burial followed in Cedar Hill cemetery.

Ron Gales, 51, of Princeton, died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at 6:04 p.m. at Caldwell County Hospital Emergency Room, following a long illness.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 2, at 1 p.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Tommy Tackett officiating.
Burial will follow in Rock Springs Church cemetery in Caldwell County.
MRS. ARCHIE LILLIAN BOSWELL
Mrs. Archie Lillian Boswell, 83, of 2862 Windsor Heights St., Deltona, Fla., died Saturday, March 24, 2001, at her home.
A native of Clay, she was born April 9, 1917, the daughter of the late Ernest Northern and Cliffie McClure. A retired coordinator of Children’s Services in San Jose, Calif., she was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Deltona, Fla.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, March 26, at noon at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Deltona, Fla., with the Rev. Charles Teffeteller officiating.
Burial followed in Deltona, Fla.

William H. “Sam” Young, 68, of Fredonia, died Monday, March 26, 2001, at 7:03 p.m. at Crittenden County Hospital Emergency Room in Marion, following a short illness.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 30, at 1 p.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton.
Burial will follow in New Bethel cemetery in Lyon County.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Verble Mae Woodside, 89, of Marion, died Thursday, March 22, 2001, at 4:14 a.m. at Crittenden County Convalescent Center in Marion.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, March 24, at 2 p.m. at Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion with the Rev. Robert Phillips and the Rev. David Winders officiating.

Delmo Stallins, 64, of Legion Drive, Princeton, died Monday, March 19, 2001, at 5:04 p.m. at Caldwell County Hospital Emergency Room in Princeton of an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, March 22, at 1 p.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Jerry Holeman officiating, assisted by the Rev. J.R. Bruce.
Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and until the funeral hour Thursday at the funeral home.

Kenneth Orten, 71, of Linwood Street, Princeton, died Monday, March 26, 2001, at 6:40 a.m. at Hilltop Nursing Home in Kuttawa, following a long illness.

GEORGE W. MARTIN
George W. Martin Jr., 85, of Cantrell Drive, Princeton, died Monday, March 19, 2001, at 1:12 a.m. at Caldwell County Hospital in Princeton, following a long illness.
A retired manager at Princeton Toll Plaza, he was a member of Ogden Memorial United Methodist Church in Princeton where he had attended since age 10 and had served on the Board of Stewards for two years, was an usher and helped served communion for many years, Clinton Masonic Lodge #82 for 58 years, York Rite Bodies for 50 years, Eastern Star #315 for 50 years, District Deputy Grand Master 1977-78, and Rizpah Temple. He was born April 6, 1915, in Caldwell County. He was a son of the late George Washington Martin Sr. and Lena Ingram Martin.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Mae Basey and Marjorie Lowey; and three brothers, Oscar Martin, Garland Martin, and Ray Martin.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Syble Martin; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert “Bobby” and Shirley Martin of Murray; a daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Don Coleman of Caldwell County; five grandchildren, Kim Cotton, Mitzi Travis, Mike Coleman, Janie Hale and Cory Martin; five great-grandchildren, Chelsie Coleman, Shelby Travis, Hannah Travis, Hastings Hale and Tabitha Hale; two sisters, Rosalind Martin of Ellicott City, Md., and Francis Osborne of Bloomington, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 21, at 11 a.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. David Herndon officiating.
Burial will follow in Cedar Hill cemetery.
Masonic services were conducted Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
GENEVA KEMP
Mrs. Geneva Kemp, 93, formerly of East Market Street, Princeton, died Friday, March 23, 2001, at 8:15 p.m. at Princeton Health Care Manor.
A homemaker and member of First Baptist Church in Princeton, she was born Sept. 10, 1907, a daughter of the late Austin and Ella Cartwright Williamson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert “Buster” Kemp, on Feb. 13, 1989; a brother, and three sisters.
Survivors include two sisters, Frances Carner and Linda Coleman, both of Princeton.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, March 25, at 2 p.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. J. Bill Jones officiating.
Burial followed in Cedar Hill cemetery.

MABLE S. JACKSON
Mrs. Mable Stallins Jackson, 89, formerly of Dollar Street, Princeton, died Saturday, March 17, 2001, at 2:30 a.m. at Princeton Health Care Manor, following a long illness.
A retired knitter for Cumberland Manufacturing Co., and a member of First Christian Church in Princeton, she was born May 31, 1911, in Caldwell County, a daughter of the late J.W. and Lula Ann Goodaker Stallins.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Otis R. Jennings, and her second husband, J.D. Jackson.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, March 19, at 1 p.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Cliff Jones officiating.
Burial followed in Lance Nichols cemetery in Caldwell County.
JOHNNY LEE DARNELL
Johnny Lee Darnell, 62, of Hopkinsville Road, Princeton, died Sunday, March 25, 2001, at 9:12 p.m. at St. Thomas Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., following a short illness.
A veteran and former mechanic for Peabody Coal Sinclair Mines in Muhlenberg County, and member of Independent General Baptist Church in Dawson Springs, and lifetime member of the V.F.W. and Masonic Lodge, he was born Sept. 11, 1938, in Hopkins County, a son of the late Herman Darnell, who died April 23, 1991, and Leva Trotter Darnell, who died Oct. 21, 1995. He was an active member of the Madisonville, Hopkinsville and Dawson Springs Amateur Radio Clubs.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Darnell in 1972, and a sister, Patricia Darnell, in 1946.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Gaines Darnell; two sons, Barry Darnell of Owensboro and Danny Darnell of Nortonville; a daughter, Lori Goodbread of Princeton; seven grandchildren, Jody Darnell, Bronzson Lane, Tara Darnell, Meagan Darnell, Lauren Goodbread, and Laci Goodbread; and a brother, James Darnell of Caldwell County.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, March 29, at 2 p.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Glenn Darnell officiating, assisted by the Rev. Frank Kirby.
Burial will follow in Ilsley cemetery in Hopkins County.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m on Wednesday and until the funeral hour on Thursday at the funeral home.
LARRY BRIGGS
Larry Briggs, 67, of Omaha, Neb., died Wednesday, March 7, 2001, at his home.
Retired from Enron Inc., and a member of Benson Baptist Church in Omaha, he was born Dec. 31, 1933, the son of the late Ansil and Mildred Briggs.
He was preceded in death by infant twin brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Polly Sheridan Briggs; a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Katy Briggs of Omaha, Neb.; two daughters and son-in-law, Cindy and Dennis May of Omaha, Neb., and Shari Briggs of Seattle, Wash.; two grandchildren, Kristopher and Kelsey May of Omaha, Neb.; two step-grandsons, Dan May of Minneapolis, Minn, and Rich May of Las Vegas, Nev.; in-laws, C.D. and Ruth Sheridan and Christine Lemon, all of Princeton, and Jean and Brad Scott of Tupelo, Miss.; and nieces and nephews, Debbie, Rachel and Ross Miller and Patrick Sheridan, all of Princeton, and Jason and Olivia Scott of Jackson, Miss.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, March 12, at 11 a.m. at Benson Baptist Church in Omaha, Neb., with the Rev. Paul Marine officiating.
Burial followed in Emerson cemetery in Emerson, Iowa.
Pallbearers were Frank Diemont, Cliff Garrett, Dick Halverson, Steve Miller, Terry Ronne, and Bob Thomas.
Honorary bearers were Hank Hendrix, Frank Oldenhuis, Joe Otto, and Carl Schulz.
HUGH W. BLICK
Hugh W. Blick, 67, of St. Charles, Mo., died Sunday, March 25, 2001, at St. Joseph Health Center at St. Charles, Mo.
An air conditioning technician, who was retired with 20 years of service from the U.S. Government in St. Louis, Mo., and a member of the First Baptist Church of St. Charles, Mo., and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, he was born Sept. 10, 1933, in Caldwell County, a son of the late Wickcleff and Marie Blick.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Blick.
Survivors include his wife, Betty J. Brinkmann Blick; a son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Cindy Blick of St. Charles, Mo.; a granddaughter, Yvonne Hootselle; a great-grandson, Alex Hootselle; and two brothers, Kenneth Blick and Jerry Blick, both of Princeton.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, March 27, at 1 p.m. at the Baue Funeral & Memorial Center Chapel at St. Charles, Mo.
Burial followed in the St. Charles Memorial Gardens at St. Charles, Mo.
