JEANNINE ANDERSON

Mrs. Jeannine Anderson, 67, of Cantrell Drive, Princeton, died Sunday, March 18, 2001, at 12:50 p.m. at Caldwell County Hospital Emergency Room, following a short illness.

A member of Central Presbyterian Church, the Retired Teachers Association, and the Eastern Star, she was born Dec. 23, 1933, in Caldwell County, a daughter of the late Buddy and Jewell Pogue Stallins. A graduate of Murray State University, she retired with 32 years of service as a Caldwell County school teacher.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Frank Anderson; a daughter, Catherine Sunderman of Tacoma, Wash.; and three granddaughters, Ashley Tinsley of Ft. Bragg, N.C., Alison White of Princeton, and Samantha Sunderman of Princeton.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 21, at 9:30 a.m. at Central Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jim Stahr officiating, assisted by the Rev. Doug Anderson.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Caldwell County Relay for Life, P.O. Box 102, Princeton, Ky. 42445.

Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton was in charge of arrangements.

DOROTHY SUMMERS

Dorothy Summers, 90, of Houston, Texas, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, in Nassau Bay, Texas.

A mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was born Nov. 28, 1910, in Princeton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Summers.

Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Martha Summers, Sue Summers Kevan and Diana S. and Ronald Kay; a son, David Summers; six grandchildren, Cynthia Withrow, Beth Stephenson, Rhonda Reina, Christopher Summers, Peter Summers, Scott Summers Kevan; and six great-grandchildren.

Her body was cremated and her ashes will be buried next to her husband in Kentucky at a later date.

Jack Rowe Funeral Home of League City, Texas, was in charge of arrangements.

JOSEPH N. SUITOR

The Rev. Joseph N. Suitor Sr., 84, of Paducah and formerly of Princeton, died Tuesday, March 13, 2001, at 6:20 p.m. at his home, following a long illness.

A retired Presbyterian minister having served 40 years in pastorates in Princeton, Cynthiana, Okolona, Millersburg, Mayfield, and Valley Station, Ky.; Sikeston, Mo.; and Meridian, Miss., he had served as a delegate to the Presbytery of western Kentucky, the Synod of Living Waters, and the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church USA. After his retirement, he served as interim pastor at Crayne, Marion, Calvert City and Westminster Presbyterian Church in Paducah, Ky.; Cairo and Mt. Vernon, Ill.

He served as director of Planned Giving at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary and directed planned giving for both the Major Mission Fund and the Bicentennial Fund of the Presbyterian Church USA. He developed an educational program for planned giving officers in schools of theology conducted by the Lily Endowment, Inc.

Born Nov. 24, 1916, in Rienzi, Miss., a son of the late Elbert Newton and Minnie Catherine Green Suitor, he graduated valedictorian of Biggersville High School, received his BA from Maryville College, where he was captain of the wrestling team, and earned the Bachelor and Master of Divinity degrees from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary.He was also a member of the Rotary Club and was involved in numerous civic activities.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Mabel Clotfelter Suitor on March 2, 2000; a grandson, David Suitor in 1996, and a daughter-in-law, Judy Suitor in 1993.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Joe Jr. and Linda Suitor of Paducah, Jim and Barbara Suitor and Bob and Becky Suitor, all of Lyon County; a daughter and son-in-law, Mabeth and Kenny Cortner of Caldwell County; seven grandchildren, Jenny, Joseph III, Sarah and Sam Suitor, Will, Bryan and Daniel Cortner; a great-granddaughter, Kaylyn Suitor; a brother, Howard Suitor of Portage, Ind.; and a sister, Katherine Suitor of Rienzi, Miss.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 17, at 10 a.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Bill Peterson officiating.

Burial will follow in Cedar Hill cemetery in Princeton.

Pallbearers will be Jenny Suitor, Sam Suitor, Joseph Suitor III, Will Cortner, Bryan Cortner, Sarah Suitor, Daniel Cortner, Kyle Cooper and Joe Dawes.

MILDRED J. MOLLOY

Mrs. Mildred J. Molloy, 83, of Kuttawa, died Thursday, March 15, 2001, at 10:30 am. at the Caldwell County Hospital in Princeton.

A member of Kuttawa United Methodist Church, where she had taught the Juniors Sunday school class for many years, she was retired from the Lyon County School System with 43 years of service. During 18 of those years she taught high school and for 25 years she served as Supervisor of Instruction and Guidance Counselor.

She was a member and past president of the Lyon County Retired Teacher’s Association, and a member and past president of ETA Chapter Delta Kappa Gamma in Paducah. She was past president of 1st District Retired Teacher’s Association and past vice-president of Ky. Association of Educational Supervisors.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred DuHuy and Inez Allen Jolly; and two brothers, Fred DuHuy Jolly Jr. and George Tucker Jolly.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Coleman C. Molloy Jr.; a son, Coleman C. Molloy III of San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Muriel Jolley of Vienna, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, March 17, at 1 p.m. at Kuttawa cemetery in Kuttawa with the Rev. Grant Sullivan officiating.

Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville was in charge of arrangements.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Kuttawa United Methodist Church, 203 Beech Street, Kuttawa, KY 42055.

BILLY D. DuPRIEST

Billy Darrell DuPriest, 46, of Kuttawa, died Tuesday afternoon, March 20, 2001, at his home in Kuttawa.

A member of Corinth Baptist Church, he is a son of Donna DuPriest of Kuttawa and the late William Cad DuPriest, who died in 1979.

Survivors in addition to his mother include a son, Scott DuPriest of Calvert City; a grandson, Camron DuPriest; a brother, Conrad DuPriest of Kuttawa; and two nephews, Michael and Morgan DuPriest of Benton.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, March 23, at 2 p.m. at Dunn’s Funeral Home in Eddyville with the Rev. Tim Franklin and the Rev. Wayne Glass officiating.

Cremation was to follow the service.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association.

WILFORD COMBS

Wilford “Goon” Combs, 79, of Grand Rivers, died Thursday, March 15, 2001, at 8:20 a.m. at his home following a long illness.

A retired machinist with Cadillac Motors, a World War II Army veteran, a member of #520 Westgate Masonic Lodge in Dearborn, Mich., and a member of the Methodist faith, he was born Nov. 6, 1921, in Livingston County, a son of the late Clarence and Emma Jones Combs.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lameta Barnett Combs, in 1998; and a brother, Paul Combs.

Survivors include two sons, Roger Combs of Jonesboro, Ga., and Richard Combs of Grand Rivers; one daughter, Vicki Glover of Birmingham, Ala.; four grandchildren, Bishop Combs, Sara Combs, Randy Combs, and Amanda Glover; and two great-grandchildren, Lucas Combs and Lameta Combs.

Graveside services will be conducted Sunday, March 18, at 1:30 p.m. at Dixon cemetery in Grand Rivers with the Rev. Gerald Gaddis officiating.

Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton was in charge of arrangements.

GEORGE GLENWOOD GRAY

George Glenwood Gray, 80, of Eddyville, died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at 8:10 a.m. at Union County Hospital in Anna, Ill.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, April 3, at 2 p.m . at Lakeland Funeral Home Chapel in Eddyville with the Rev. Robert Phillips officiating.

Burial followed in Glenn’s Chapel cemetery in Lyon County.

GARY DAVIS

Gary Davis, 55, of West Shepardson Street, Princeton, died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at 8:30 p.m. at his home, following a long illness.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, April 3, at 1 p.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton.

Military graveside services were conducted by members of the American Legion and VFW.

Burial was held in O’Hara cemetery in Caldwell County.

CHARLES JAMES "SKIPJACK" KIRBY

Charles James “Skipjack” Kirby, 82, of Cadiz, died Sunday, March 25, 2001, at 8:30 a.m. at his home.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, March 30, at 1 p.m. at Rocky Ridge Baptist Church in Cadiz with the Rev. Troy Ladd officiating.

Burial followed in the church cemetery.

MRS. LULA TINSLEY

Mrs. Lula Tinsley, 89, of Princeton, died Monday, March 26, 2001, at 7:35 p.m. at Caldwell County Hospital in Princeton of natural causes.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, March 31, at 2 p.m. at Spillman Chapel CME Church with the Rev. Sam Scott and the Rev. Jerry Gray officiating.

Burial followed in Cedar Hill cemetery.

MRS. VIRGINIA R. MARTIN

Mrs. Virginia R. Martin, 83, formerly of Princeton, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at Bortz Health Care Center in Rose City, Mich., following a short illness.

Graveside services will be conducted Monday, April 2, at 1 p.m. at Cedar Hill cemetery with the Rev. Dean Ray officiating.

There will be no visitation.

VIRGINIA JACKSON

Virginia Jackson, 81, formerly of Princeton, died Friday, March 23, 2001, at IHS Heritage Park in Plano, Texas.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, March 30, at 10 a.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Sam Donahue officiating.

Burial followed in Cedar Hill cemetery.

RON GALES

Ron Gales, 51, of Princeton, died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at 6:04 p.m. at Caldwell County Hospital Emergency Room, following a long illness.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 2, at 1 p.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Tommy Tackett officiating.

Burial will follow in Rock Springs Church cemetery in Caldwell County.

SARA LEE BURKHART

Sara Lee Burkhart, 23, of Stone Street, Princeton, died of natural causes Thursday, March 28, 2001, at 11:35 p.m. at Caldwell County Hospital Emergency Room in Princeton, following a short illness.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, April 1, at 3 p.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Duane Burden officiating.

Burial followed in Lance Nichols cemetery in Caldwell County.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Caldwell County Relay for Life, P.O. Box 102, Princeton, Ky. 42445.

Ruby Howard

Mrs. Ruby Howard, 84, of Dycusburg, died Saturday, April 7, 2001, at 7:45 a.m. at Caldwell County Hospital in Princeton.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, April 9, at 2 p.m. at Lakeland Funeral Home Chapel in Eddyville with the Rev. Gordon Holland officiating.

Burial followed in Dycusburg cemetery in Crittenden County.
