Mrs. Regina Woodall, 70

Mrs. Regina Woodall, 70, of Fredonia, died Tuesday, April 15, 2003, at 12:56 p.m. at the Crittenden County Hospital in Marion, following a long illness.

A member of First Baptist Church of Fredonia and homemaker, she was born March 30, 1933, in Crittenden County, a daughter of Corene Watson York of Marion and the late Emmit Eugene Jennings.

Survivors in addition to her mother include her husband, Walton E. Woodall Jr.; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Rick and Gayle Hill, David and Carin Hill and Ross Hill, all of Evansville, Ind., and Rich and Vickie Hill, of Newburgh, Ind.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Wendy Woodall, of Fort Bragg, N.C., and KaDonna and Joe Nichols of Cadiz; eight grandchildren, Jason Hill, Michael Hill, Christi Hill, Beth Hill, Justin Hill, Ashley Hill, Heather Brantley and Macy Nichols; a great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Hill; a brother, Doyle Jennings of Marion; three sisters, Mary Rose Clark and Donna Minton, both of Marion, and Sandy Newell of Madisonville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 19, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Fredonia with the Rev. David Fambrough officiating.

Burial will follow in Hill cemetery.

Anna Dell Rhye, 65

Anna Dell Rhye, 65, of Providence, died Sunday afternoon, April 13, 2003, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.

A member of Second Baptist Church, she had been a typist for the Journal Enterprise for eight years.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Horning.

Survivors include her husband, Russell Rhye; two sons, Jerry Rhye of Providence and Roger Rhye of Madisonville; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Myrtle Bell Frazer of Dalton and Bonnie Nell Fletcher of Princeton; and two brothers, Phillip Horning and Bobby Joe Horning, both of Princeton.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 17, at 2 p.m. at Melton Funeral Home in Providence.

The Rev. Fred Harrison and the Rev. Terry Rhye will officiate the service.

Burial will follow in White Oak cemetery at Clay.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 a.m. until the funeral time Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Marie Burchett, 69

Mrs. Marie Burchett, 69, of Princeton, died Thursday, April 17, 2003, at 1:15 a.m. at Caldwell County Hospital, following a long illness.

Born Nov. 5, 1933, in Caldwell County, she was a daughter of the late Orbie Knott and Violet Mitchell Oliver. A member of Eddy Creek Baptist Church, Princeton Optimist Club and Country Cuzins Homemakers Club, she was a retired quality control employee at the Princeton Hosiery Mill.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Bobbie Darnell and a foster grandson, Eli Wilson.

Survivors include her husband, Royce Burchett; two daughters, Nita Oden and Rita Burchett, both of Princeton; five foster grandchildren, Sean Martin, Jacob Martin, Megan Jackson, Jordon Choate and Jared Choate; a brother, Orbie Floyd Oliver of Princeton; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 19, at 10 a.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Roger O’Bryan officiating, assisted by the Rev. Ronnie Sivells and the Rev. Bud Collins.

Burial will follow in Cedar Hill cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Princeton Optimist Club Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 54, Princeton, Ky. 42445.

Marlene Adams, 62

Marlene Adams, 62, of Madisonville and formerly of Highland, Ind., died Saturday, April 12, 2003, in Madisonville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jewett Damon Adams; two brothers, James Malerich and George Malerich; and a sister, Patricia Rusnak.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jewett D. Jr. and Cindy Adams; three grandchildren, Ron and Cristy Potchen and Megan Heuss; four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Seth, Cameron and Dylan; three brothers, Wilbur, William and Homer Malerich; five sisters, Betty Marovich, Mattie Baxter, Rose Cooke, Agnes Kudolis and Carol Patterson; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at Memory Lane cemetery on U.S. 30 in Schererville, Ind., at 11 a.m. Friday, April 18.

Visitation will be at Burns-Kish Funeral Home, 921 W. 45th, Griffith, Ind., from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, April 17.

Charles T. Butts, 82

Charles T. Butts, 82, of Cadiz, died Thursday, May 29, 2003, at 12:11 a.m. at Shady Lawn Nursing Center in Cadiz, of natural causes.

A retired forest ranger and member of Liberty Point Baptist Church and Woodmen of the World, he was born Oct. 10, 1920, in Shelby County, a son of the late Delbert and Lilly Williams Butts.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Lee Skaggs Butts; a brother, Jesse Butts; and five sisters, Naomi Allen, Waldine Butler, Hattie Vest, Anna Mae Brooks and Alice Cunningham.

Survivors include five sons and four daughters-in-law, Charles and Jean Butts, Harold and Darlene Butts, James and Lou Butts, Kenneth and Kathy Butts, all of Cadiz, and Wallace Butts of Charleston, S.C.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Wilma and Randle Cruse, Reva Harper, all of Cadiz, and Anna and Sidney Sykes of Big Rock, Tenn.; 16 grandchildren, Terry Butts, Margie Scroggins, Jennifer Mitchell, David Butts, Stevie Butts, Ricky Butts, Mark Butts, David Butts, Eddie Harper, Nacy Harper, Janet Sivells, Todd Butts, Lee Ann Whitehead, Margaret Thomas, Seath Butts and Justin Butts; five stepgrandchildren, Michelle Knight, Cole Bybee, John Cruse, Tracy Sabatino and Marc Cruse; 16 great-grandchildren, T.C. Butts, Benji Allen, Tori Scroggins, Ian Butts, Eliza Butts, Samantha Butts, Jeremy Butts, Arlon Butts, Jennifer Marlowe, Jessie Marlowe, Demis Harper, Matthew Harper, Megan Harper, Taylor Butts, Shayleigh Whitehead and Brandon Thomas; seven stepgreat-grandchildren, Chassidy Oliver, Darrian Oliver, Jamie Oliver, Austin Knight, Brook-Lynn Knight, Grace Knight and Dillan Cruse; a great-great-grandchild, Kennan Horner; and three sisters, Lois Jennings of Shelby County, Pauline Palmer of Arizona, and Juanita Williams of Jefferstown, Ind.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 1, at 2 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz with the Rev. Derrick Norris and the Rev. Nickey Knight officiating.

Burial will follow in Siloam cemetery in Trigg County.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Saturday, May 31, at the funeral home.

Carlton Glenn Bush, 71

Carlton Glenn Bush, 71, of 307 Eddyville Rd., Cadiz, died Monday, June 2, 2003, at 4 a.m. at Trigg County Hospital in Cadiz, of natural causes.

An Army Korean Conflict veteran, retired correctional officer and member of the Baptist faith, he was born Sept. 7, 1931, in Cadiz, a son of Carloss G. Bush of Cadiz and the late Martha Virginia Bush.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Nell Bush.

Survivors in addition to his father include his wife, Dixie Davis Bush; a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Sherry Bush of Princeton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy and Dennis Dougherty of Kingsley, Mich., Carla and Kenneth Jones of Cadiz and Judy and Kenneth Rennison of Fredonia; seven grandchildren, Carloss Bush, Chase Bush, T.C. Bush, Kyle Jones, Carey Dougherty, Scott Dougherty and Chad Rennison; a stepgrandchild, Casi Parker; two great-grandchildren, Karlie Rennison and Shelby George; three brothers, Don Bush, Lacy Bush and Richard Bush, all of Cadiz; and three sisters, Mary Bush and Rebecca Sanders, both of Cadiz, and Betty Wyatt of Princeton.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 4, at 2 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz.

The Rev. Jimmy Fuller and the Rev. Don Pippin will officiate the service.

Burial will follow in Caldwell Blue Spring cemetery.

Katherine J. Poindexter, 69

Katherine J. Poindexter, 69, formerly of Princeton, died April 1, 2003, at Ft. Myers, Fla., following a long illness.

Born Jan. 28, 1934, a daughter of Mary E. Johns Potter and the late Barnes Potter, she was preceded in death by a daughter.

Survivors include her husband, Donald H. Poindexter of Princeton; two daughters, Dawn Poindexter of Atlanta, Ga., and Susan Delago of Ft. Myers, Fla.; a brother, Edwin Potter of Chattahoochee, Fla.; and four sisters, Geneia Pinson of St. Augustine, Fla., Jackie Bennett of Greenwood, Fla., Gwen Ford of Florida, and Gloria Allday of San Antonio, Texas.

Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, June 7, at 11 a.m. at Cedar Hill cemetery.

There will be no visitation.

Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton is in charge of arrangements for the graveside services.

Betty Jean “Wallace” Cornwell, 80

Betty Jean “Wallace” Cornwell, 80, of Chicamauga, Ga., died in a hospital there on Wednesday, May 28, 2003.

A member of the CCC Ladies Auxiliary, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert V. Cornwell; and a son, Robert C. Cornwell.

Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Allen of Ellijay, Ga.; a sister, Carolyn Womack of Chattanooga, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were conducted Friday, May 30, at 2 p.m. at Shady Grove cemetery in Crittenden County.

The Rev. Ronnie Fox officiated the service.

W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home of Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga., was in charge of arrangements.

Arrangements locally were by Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton.

Johnny Fox, 78

Johnny Fox, 78, of Grand Rivers, died Monday, June 2, 2003, at 1:45 a.m. at his home in Grand Rivers, after a short illness.

A retired chief of maintenance for Crounse Corporation in Grand Rivers, a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and of the Baptist faith, he was a son of the late John W. and Grace Brake Fox.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer Fox and T.P. Fox; and a sister, Gladys Shaffer.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Elsie Driskill Fox; a son, Donnie Fox of Grand Rivers; two daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Jerry Rose of Grand Rivers and Connie and Stanley McKinney of Princeton; three grandchildren and two spouses, Chris and Joyce Rose of Burna, Stacey and Jarrett Crider of Smithland and Misty McKinney of Princeton; a great-grandson, John Wesley Rose of Burna; a brother, David G. Fox of Grand Rivers; three sisters, Polly Aldridge of Mayfield, Dickie Mopin of Drafften, Ill., and Agnes Calhoun of Alton, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 4, at 2:30 p.m. at Lakeland Funeral Home Chapel in Eddyville with the Rev. Charlie Canup officiating.

Burial will follow in Paradise cemetery in Livingston County.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Lourdes Hospice, P.O. Box 7100, Paducah, Ky. 42002-7100.

William L. Dalton, 59

William L. Dalton, 59, of Fredonia, died Sunday, June 1, 2003, at 1:27 p.m. at Crittenden County Hospital Emergency Room in Marion, following a short illness.

A Vietnam Navy veteran with 20 years of service, who worked as a welder, a member of the V.F.W. in Princeton, American Legion in Fredonia, he was born April 13, 1944, in Caldwell County, a son of Juanita Rushing Wallace and the late Albert Marvin Dalton.

Survivors in addition to his mother include a son, William L. Dalton Jr. of Jessup, Ga.; a daughter, Angela Dalton of Jessup, Ga.; and a brother, James Clifford Dalton Sr., of Marion.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 4, at 1 p.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton.

The Rev. Marilyn Williams will officiate the service.

Burial will follow in Norman cemetery in Caldwell County.

Carlton Glenn Bush, 71
