Wayne Towery, 59

Wayne Towery, 59, of Caldwell County, died Friday, May 11, 2007, at 1:27 a.m. at Caldwell County Hospital Emergency Room in Princeton, following a short illness.

A member of Chapel Hill Missionary Baptist Church and retired millwright carpenter and farmer, he was born March 25, 1948, in Webster County, a son of Blanche Kennedy Towery of Caldwell County and the late Boyce A. Towery.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Judith Towery.

Survivors in addition to his mother include his wife, Janie Hammonds Towery; a son and daughter-in-law, Paul Wayne and Jan Towery of Caldwell County; a daughter, Kim Towery of Caldwell County; two grandchildren, Logan Wayne and Kailey Jane Towery; two stepgrandchildren, Josh and Jeremy Coldwell; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronald and Judy Towery of Cummins, Ga., and Robin Keith and Midge Towery of Sebring, Fla.; and a sister and brother-in-law, Jan and Brent Harmon of Morris, Ill.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 14, at 11 a.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton. The Rev. Jeff Boone will officiate the service, assisted by the Rev. Barry Cullen.

Burial will follow in Parker-Kennedy cemetery in Caldwell County.

Pallbearers will be Sam Gilkey, Tommy Chandler, Bob Tays, Don Armstrong, Doug Harris, Phillip Lamb, Brent Harmon and John Engler.

Honorary bearers will be J.B. Bogle, Dennis Stallins, Billy Joe Cullen, Phillip Towery and Dennis Traylor.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Carloss Bush, 98

Carloss Bush, 98, of Cadiz, died Sunday, May 13, 2007, at 12:25 a.m. at Caldwell County Hospital in Princeton, of natural causes.

A retired farmer and member of the Pentecostal faith, he was born Sept. 23, 1908, a son of the late Alonzo Carlton and Mary Charlotte “Lottie” Givens Bush.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Childress Bush on April 29, 1986; a son, Carlton Bush; a daughter, Martha Nell Bush; five brothers, Horrace Bush, John Bush, Travis Bush, Robert Bush and Lexie Bush; and two sisters. Elizabeth Banister and Myrtle Adams.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Lacy and Pat Bush of Wallonia, Don and Rose Bush of Cadiz and Richard and Brenda Bush of Canton; a daughter-in-law, Dixie Bush of Cadiz; three daughters and a son-in-law, Rebecca Sanders of Wallonia, Mary Bush of the home, and Betty and Dwain Wyatt of Princeton; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild; and three brothers, Kenneth Bush of Cadiz, Cecil Bush of McKinney, Texas and Charles Bush of Frankfort.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, May 15, at 11 a.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz.

The Rev. Mark Engler and the Rev. Billy Joe Nichols officiated the service for Mr. Bush.

Burial follow in East End cemetery in Cadiz.

Pallbearers were Ronald Bush, Donald Bush, Michael Bush, Hershel Bush, Randy Bush and Kyle Jones.

Honorary bearers were Bill Bush, Bob Bush, Bruce Farmer, Rodney Loomis, Ricky McNichols, Kavin Allen, Chris Bland, Kenneth Jones, Howell Finley, Charles Adams, Garland Darnell, Kenneth Rennison, Billy Bush, Harold Bush and Charles Owen Bush.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Cadiz Gideon Camp, P.O. Box 65, Cadiz, Ky. 42211.

Magdalene Tosh, 79

Magdalene Tosh, 79, of Fredonia (Goodsprings Community), died Friday, May 11, 2007, at 3:42 p.m. at Caldwell County Hospital, following a long illness.

A retired seamstress from Cumberland Manufacturing, homemaker and member of White Sulphur Baptist Church, she was born Jan. 4, 1928, in Caldwell County, a daughter of the late Arthur and Florence Gray Faughn.

Survivors include her husband, Marion Johnson Tosh; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Marion Wayne and Nancy Tosh of Athens, Ala., Jerry Tosh of Benton and Terry and Deidra Tosh of Benton; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Randy Sullivan of Princeton; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, John Isaac Faughn of Bossier City, La.; and a sister, Betty Jean Rahn of Princeton.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, May 14, at 1 p.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton.

The Rev. Bill Pettit officiated the service, assisted by Bro. Dennis Winn.

Burial followed in Rowland cemetery.

Carrie O’Hara Page Morrison, 91

Carrie O’Hara Page Morrison, 91, of Greensburg, Ind., and formerly of Princeton, died Monday, May 14, 2007.

Born June 25, 1915, in Princeton, a daughter of the late L.C. and Augusta (Geurin) O’Hara, she was a graduate of Butler High School. She was a co-owner of Minears in Greensburg, Ind., and Rushville, Ind., and was a professional artist. A member of the United Methodist Church of Greensburg, Ind., Tri Kappa of Greensburg, Ind., National Society of Women in the Arts, Brown County Art Gallery, Art Guild of Brown County, Ind., Art Guild of Princeton, Hoosier Salon, she also belonged to the Greensburg, Ind., Art Gallery.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Al Thomas Page on March 4, 1982; and her second husband, Vaughn William Morrison on April 1, 2007; a daughter, Sylvia Joyce Baker; and son, Thomas Albert Page; brothers; and three sisters.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Michael Wildman of Shelbyville, Ind.; four grandchildren, Dierdre Wildman, Alyssia Wildman, Marcia Hooten and Greg Baker; and four great-grandchildren, Aidan Cooke, Bear Yeatman, Shyanne Baker and Kay-lee Hooten.

Visitation will be held at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home in Greensburg, Ind., on Wednesday, May 16, from 4 to 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 17, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Charles Wilfong officiating.

A graveside memorial will be Friday, May 18, at 1 p.m. at Cedar Hill cemetery in Princeton.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Princeton Art Guild, 115 East Main St., Princeton, Ky. 42445.

Glendal Lynch, 86

Glendal Lynch, 86, of Fredonia, died Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at 11:10 a.m., at Livingston County Hospital and Healthcare Services in Salem, following a short illness.

A retired truck driver and farmer, he was born Oct. 23, 1920, in Caldwell County, a son of the late Bernie and Ora Glenn Jones Lynch.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Essie Lynch in 2005; a sister, Ella Bell Fraliex; and four brothers, Elmer Lynch, Lexie Lynch, John Lynch and Jack Lynch.

Survivors include three sons, Everett Bryson Lynch of Princeton, Allen Wayne Lynch of Fredonia and Ronald Eugene Lunch of Lyon County; two daughters, Carolyn Jane Lynch of Fredonia and Melissa Lynn Mason of Princeton; a granddaughter, Kelsey Mason; a great-grandchild, Deason Morris; three sisters, Grettnia Atwood of Princeton, Una Mae Fraliex and Mary Myers, both of Fredonia; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted Thursday May 17, at 1 p.m. at Fredonia cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton.

Calvin Adams, 81

Calvin Adams, 81, of Kuttawa, died Friday, June 22, 2007, at 5:30 p.m. at Tradewater Pointe Nursing Home in Dawson Springs.

A retired brick layer for U.S. Steel in Gary, Ind., he was a World War II Army veteran and served as deputy sheriff in Lyon County from 1986 to 1993. A member of the Baptist faith, he was a son of the late William D. and Clora Wiley Adams.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Sue Brinkley Adams; a son, Danny Adams; and three brothers, Donald Adams, Paul Adams and Doris Adams.

Survivors include two grandchildren, Michael Adams and Lindsey Adams, both of Valparaiso, Ind.; four brothers, Harry Adams and James Adams, both of Merrilville, Ind., Thomas Adams of Crown Pointe, Ind., and Billy Adams of Accokeek, Md.; two sisters, Mildred Hayes of Evansville, Ind., and Shirley Randle of Hobart, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, June 25, at 11 a.m. at Lakeland Funeral Home Chapel in Eddyville. The Rev. Carl Nelson officiated the service.

Burial followed in Shady Grove cemetery, Hwy. 41A, at Poole at 1:30 p.m.

James Harley “Hollywood” Suttle, 71

James Harley “Hollywood” Suttle, 71, of St. Charles, died Friday, June 22, 2007, at 1:40 a.m. at his home.

Born October 18, 1935, in Hopkins County, a son of the late Elvie Clarence and Rosie Dimple Greer Suttle, he was a lifetime coal miner as a night watchman, and was of the Christian faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Mae Abbott Suttle, who died August 19, 2005; and two brothers, Harold Suttle and Wayne Suttle.

Survivors include two sons, Dwayne Suttle of Madisonville and Joey Suttle of St. Charles; three daughters, Vicky Cates of St. Charles, Pam Jackson of Slaughters and Denita Richardson of Mortons Gap; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Thelma Dillingham of Dawson Springs and Shirley Wegener of New Mexico; two brothers, Gilbert Suttle and Donald Suttle both of St. Charles; and caregiver, Brenda Hanks of St. Charles.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, June 25, at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs. Duane Camplin officiated the service for Mr. Suttle. Burial followed in Greenwood cemetery at St. Charles.

Glenda Teeters, 78

Glenda Teeters, 78, of Eddyville, died Friday, June 22, 2007, at 4 a.m., at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.

A member of Cane Creek Baptist Church in Wickliffe, she was a daughter of the late Jessie and Gracie Williams Doublin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn Teeters, in 2002; two brothers; four sisters; and a grandson.

Survivors include a daughter, Pearline Wiggins of Eddyville; four sons, Gary Teeters of Kuttawa, Michael Teeters of Eddyville, Tim Teeters of Wickliffe, and Bruce Teeters of Paducah; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Pete Doublin of Eddyville; and three sisters, Mary Ellen Thompson of Eddyville, Juanita Greer of Champaign, Ill., and Geneva Meyers of Paducah.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, June 24, at Dunn’s Funeral Home in Eddyville. The Rev. Roger Penn officiated the service. Burial followed in Rolling Hills cemetery.

Charley Barnes, 64

Charley Barnes, 64, of Eddyville, died Thursday, June 21, 2007, at 9:30 p.m. at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.

A member of Faith Fellowship Assembly in Kuttawa, he was a son of the late Paul C. and Minnie Prescott Barnes.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Noble Barnes and Hoy Barnes.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Hastings Barnes; three daughters, Venica Doublin and Melissa Love, both of Eddyville, and Robin Joiner of Kuttawa; a son, Randy Barnes of Cherry Hill, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a sister, Eula Iona Green of Kuttawa; and a brother, Sanders Barnes of Stanton.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, June 26, at 2 p.m. at Faith Fellowship Assembly, with the Rev. Harold Hatfield and the Rev. Kenny Morrow officiating. Burial will follow in Dickerson cemetery in Land Between the Lakes. Visitation will be from noon to the funeral hour at Faith Fellowship Assembly.

Dunn’s Funeral Home in Eddyville is in charge of arrangements for Mr. Barnes.

Emma Catherine Bratcher McCallister, 64

Emma Catherine Bratcher McCallister, 64, of Dawson Springs, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at 4:25 p.m. at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.

Born October 2, 1942, in Hopkins County, a daughter of the late Champie and Reyoma Thomason Bratcher, she graduated from Dawson Springs High School in 1961, had worked for Thomas Industries, cared for the elderly, reared her grandchildren and was a member of Midway Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by nieces.

Survivors include her husband, James McCallister; two sons, Jimmy McCallister of Princeton and Jeff McCallister of Dawson Springs; four grandchildren, Brandy Golden, Christopher McCallister, Jessica McCallister and Jared McCallister; three great grandchildren, Ariel Golden, Jaden Golden, and Alyssa McCallister; and two sisters, Martha Bratcher Robinson of Paducah, and LaDonna Wood of Dawson Springs.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, June 24, at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, with the Rev. Randall Rogers officiating. Burial followed in Millwood cemetery.

Pallbearers were David Wood, Christopher McCallister, Beedie Bratcher Jr., John Blalock, Kent Dillingham, Carl Buzzard, Larry Cunningham and Dallas Thomas.

Robert Cooper Crider, 65

Robert Cooper Crider, 65, died Saturday, June 23, 2007, at 2 a.m., at his daughter’s home in Danville, after a long illness.

Born May 31, 1942, in Princeton, he was the son of the late Emmet Cooper and Sara Akin Crider.

He was a graduate of Murray State University, member of the South Fulton Country Club and a supporter of Oneida Baptist Children’s Home.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Crider, of South Fulton, Tenn.; a daughter, Carolyn Underwood of Danville; two sons, James Cooper Crider of Danville, and Claude Akin Crider of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren, Mattie Underwood and Michael Underwood, both of Danville, Claude Crider Jr. and Hailey Crider, both of Houston, Texas; and a sister, Susanne Crider Bollinger of Louisville.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Stith Funeral Home in Danville was in charge of arrangements.
