Douglas Sapp, 70

Douglas Sapp, 70, of Roland Street in Campbellsville, Ky. died at 10:20 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 23, 2004, in Campbellsville.

Son of the late Ira Sapp and Margaret Colvin Sapp, he was born in Taylor County, Ky. on Nov. 11, 1933.

He was a member of Elkhorn Masonic Lodge #568 F & AM.

He was married to Martha Sapp, who survives.

Survivors also include two sons, Douglas Wayne Sapp and his wife, Wanda, of Campbellsville; Gary Lynn Sapp of Lexington; one daughter and her spouse, Kathy Renee and Chris Pierce of North Liberty, Iowa; five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; two sisters and their spouses, Pauline and Floyd Wise and Elaine and Leonard Milby, all of Campbellsville; one brother and his spouse, Ralph and Shirley Sapp of Eubank, Ky.; and one sister-in-law, Clara Sapp of Campbellsville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Wallace Sapp, on Dec. 6, 2003; and one infant sister.

Funeral was Thursday, Aug. 26 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. The Rev. Jim Durham officiated.

Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

Masonic services were Wednesday at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Bob Bertram, Donnie Curry, Delbert Dix, Chris Pierce, Josh Sapp, Shane Sapp, Tim Sapp, Tommy Sapp Jr. and John Wethington.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of Central Kentucky.

John E. 'Skip' Schroerlucke, 70

John E. "Skip" Schroerlucke, 70, of Louisville, Ky. died Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004 at his home.

He was a retired dispatcher for Courier Newsome, a mason and an Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He was married to Ruth M. Schroerlucke, who survives.

Survivors also include five daughters and their spouses, Dewanna and Mike Keith, Valerie and George Freeman, Laura and Buddy Irvin, Denise and Anthony Hash and Dana and M.J. Gregory; one sister, Emma Lee Doughterty; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Friday, Aug. 27 at St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church at 1816 Rangeland Road in Louisville.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Louisville Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association at 3703 Taylorville Road, Suite 102, Louisville, Ky. 40220.

Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Directors were in charge of arrangements.

Garry Cook, 46,

Garry Cook, 46, of Columbia, Ky., died at 1:33 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 30, 2004, at Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia.

Son of Doris Kerr Cook of Columbia and the late Roy Cook, he was a former employee of Stephens Pipe and Steel in Russell Springs, Ky.

Survivors also include one son, David Lynn Cook of Wilmington, N.C.; one brother, Ronald Cook of Russell Springs; two sisters, Adalene Cook and Faye Cook, both of Columbia; one granddaughter, Aiden Maddox Cook; and one step-granddaughter, Megan Davis.

Funeral was Wednesday, Sept. 1 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia. The Rev. Richie Curtis officiated. Burial was in Freedom cemetery.

Pallbearers were Rodney Blankenship, Kenneth "Monk" Cook, Mike Cook, David Matthews, Larry Matthews and Barry Stevens.

Mildred Hackley 'Skip' Cook, 83

Mildred Hackley "Skip" Cook, 83, of Louisville, Ky., formerly of Campbellsville, Ky., died at 9:23 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004, in Louisville.

Daughter of the late Samuel Hackley and Frances Hoskins Hackley, she was born in Taylor County, Ky., on Jan. 29, 1921. She was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church and was co-owner, along with her husband, of Cooks Grocery in Campbellsville from 1945 to 1985.

She married C.A. Cook on March 18, 1944. He preceded her in death on Jan. 24, 2001.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Diana Cook of Louisville; three grandchildren and their spouses, Alan and Faith Cook of Jacksonville, Fla., Chris and Kim Cook of Atlanta, Ga., and Ashley Cook and Jeremy Jackson of Jeffersonville, Ind.; one great-granddaughter, Katarina Cook; and a special friend, Jimmy Cox.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Ruth Newcomb, Margaret Claycomb, Elizabeth Hackley Doyle and Mary Frances Robertson.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 9 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. The Rev. Kevin Wood will officiate. Burial will be in Brookside cemetery.

Pallbearers are Eddie Claycomb, Jimmy Cox, John Newcomb, Sam Newcomb, David Newton, Michael Powers and A.R. Wood.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice and Palliative Care of Louisville and can be made at the funeral home.

Cleo Corbin, 69

Cleo Corbin, 69, of Liberty, Ky., died on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004, at Glasgow Health and Rehab Center after an illness.

She was the daughter of the late Willard and Cleo Denton Corbin.

Survivors include five sons and one daughter-in-law, Ray Stapleton, Greg Stapleton and Erik and Crystal Stapleton, all of Columbia, Ky., Michael Stapleton of El Paso, Texas, and Jack Stapleton of Glasgow, Ky.; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Joetta and Daryl Fletcher, Barbara and Russ McGaha, Wilma Stapleton and Cindy Bradshaw, all of Columbia, and Shelia and Jerry Hodges of Tompkinsville, Ky.; 24 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; four sisters, Inez Miller of Indiana, Irene Sunner of Illinois, Dencie Hovious of Mount Washington, Ky., and Virginia Bottoms of Campbellsville, Ky.; and two special friends, Willie Richerson of Liberty and Irene Duncan of Columbia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Bryan Stapleton; one daughter, Sandra Stapleton; three brothers, Bill Corbin, James Corbin and Eddie Corbin; and three sisters, Frances Moore, Wilma Bell and Nancy Burton.

Funeral was Tuesday, Aug. 31 at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel in Columbia. Sam Soler officiated. Burial was in Bear Wallow cemetery.

Pallbearers were Anthony Curry, Joseph Curry, Adam Curry, Dustin Stapleton, Nathan Curry and Richie Bernard.

Addis Davis, 97

Addis Davis, 97, of Green County, Ky., died on Sunday, Aug. 29, 2004, at Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, Ky.

Daughter of the late Robert Lewis Davis and Mary Frances Kessler Davis, she was born in Green County on Sept. 7, 1906. She was a member of Oak Grove Separate Baptist Church of the Nolynn Association and a homemaker.

She married Ulys "Bill" Davis on Feb. 5, 1933. He preceded her in death on June 21, 1977.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Marion Davis and Jim Hill of Green County; one step-son and his spouse, Chester Gordon and Hazel Davis of Louisville, Ky.; two grandchildren and their spouses, Nick and Mary Jo Hazel of Campbellsville, Ky., and Marti Hazel and Tom Runnels of Louisville, Ky.; three great-grandchildren, Matthew Hazel, Justin Hazel and Carlie Hazel, all of Campbellsville; three step-grandchildren, Rex Davis, Randy Davis and Betty Davis Rich, all of Louisville; eight step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; and a special niece and her spouse, Gwen Davis and Bob Horstman of Louisville.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one step-grandchild, Ricky Davis.

Funeral was Wednesday, Sept. 1 at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg. The Rev. Larry Wisdom officiated. Burial was in Oak Grove cemetery.

Pallbearers were Bob Horstman, Mike Judd, J.R. Bishop, Randy Mays, Jake Davis, Garnett Wayne Davis and Fats Coffey.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Gideon Bibles and can be made at the funeral home.

Kenneth 'Chatterbox' Gray

Kenneth "Chatterbox" Gray, 69, of Dixie Avenue in Campbellsville, Ky., died at 4:31 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004, in Campbellsville.

Son of the late James R. Gray and Stella Willis Gray, he was born in Taylor County, Ky., on Nov. 3, 1934. He was a member of Meadowview Baptist Church, a retired 37-year Fruit of the Loom employee and member of Pitman Lodge #124 F & AM.

He married Sue Davis on Oct. 31, 1964. She survives.

Survivors also include two daughters and one son-in-law, Deborah Gray of Henderson, Ky., and Susan and Steve Sprowles of Campbellsville; one son and daughter-in-law, Robbie and Karen Gray of Bowling Green, Ky.; three grandchildren, Blake Sprowles and Lexie Sprowles, both of Campbellsville, and Joshua Gray of Bowling Green; two brothers, Tom L. Gray and Russell Gray, both of Campbellsville; and one sister, Barkley Hayes of Bowling Green.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 8 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. The Revs. Gene Hall and Brent Gupton will officiate. Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers are Raymond Ford, Tonnie Ford, Terry Scott Gray, Brad Pennington, Bill Shoemaker and Scott Smith.

Honorary pallbearers are David Cable, Kenneth Cox, Wendell Davis, John Edmonds, Doug Ferguson, Leonard Ford, David Gray, Ronnie Gray, Kenneth Humphrey, John Revis, Jamie Russell, Kenneth Shreve, Doug Thompson, Lawrence Wilson and Billy Wright.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Gideon Memorial Bible Plan.

Mary C. 'May' Lee, 67

Mary C. "May" Lee, 67, of Pitman Valley Road in Campbellsville, Ky., died at 12:55 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004, in Campbellsville.

Daughter of Dorothy Adams Camp of Campbellsville and the late Charles T. Camp, she was born in Robertson County, Tenn., on Nov. 1, 1936. She was a member of Sunnyhill Church of Christ, a homemaker and was retired from Campbellsville Apparel.

She married Bobby Lee on April 18, 1960. He survives.

Survivors also include two daughters and one son-in-law, Saundra Lee of Campbellsville and Patricia and Rodney Pitts of Cookeville, Tenn.; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Steve and Kamie Lee of Glasgow, Ky., and Carl Lee of Campbellsville; eight grandchildren, Erin Pitts, Clint Pitts and Matthew Pitts, all of Cookeville, Jacob Lee, Caleb Lee and Kaitlyn Lee, all of Glasgow, and Austin Lee and Brooklyn Lee, both of Campbellsville; and three sisters, Frances Henderson, Carolyn Gossage and Charlene Shofner, all of Campbellsville.

Funeral was Monday, Sept. 6 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. Greg Sharp, Danny McKibben and Scott Vifquain officiated. Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were Ronnie Booth, Ronnie Gossage, Pat Hardesty, Harry Kessler, Mark Reynolds and A.C. Wooley.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Central Kentucky and can be left at the funeral home.

Grace Goff Lobb, 93

Grace Goff Lobb, 93, of Green County, Ky., died on Monday, Aug. 30, 2004, at Summerfield Health Care Center in Louisville, Ky.

Daughter of the late O.L. Goff and Fannie Smith Goff, she was born in Green County on Aug. 18, 1911. She was a member of Summerville Church of the Nazarene and was the last living charter member.

She was married to Harold Lobb, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, David W. and Eyvonne Lobb, Thomas Leon and Jeanette Lobb and Leslie Ewan and Evon Lobb, all of Louisville; one sister, Emma Milby of Greensburg, Ky.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral was Thursday, Sept. 2 at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg.

The Rev. Jamie McCormack officiated. Burial was in Green County Memory Garden in Summersville, Ky.

Pallbearers were Dennis Wade Stearman, Jesse Goff, W.D. Lobb, Gary Henderson, Kenneth Goff and Billy Joe Dobson.

Ruby Plummer 'Sis' Lusk, 85

Ruby Plummer "Sis" Lusk, 85, of Paris, Ky., died on Sunday, Aug. 29, 2004, at St. Joseph Hospital Hospice Care Center in Lexington, Ky.

Daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. A.B. Plummer, she was born on Jan. 7, 1919 in Bourbon County, Ky. She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Millersburg Garden Club, Bourbon Unit #30 American Legion Auxiliary and was the owner of the Dr. A.B. Plummer Products Co., Inc.

She was married to Karl K. Lusk Sr., who survives.

Survivors also include one son and daughter-in-law, Karl K. Jr. and Anne Lusk of New Haven, Ky.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one step-grandson; and four step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Arthur Wayne Plummer.

Funeral was Wednesday, Sept. 1 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Paris. The Rev. Michael E. Carlisle officiated. Burial was in Paris cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Capital Fund of St. Peter's Episcopal Church or to the Hospice of the Bluegrass.

Sue Skaggs McKinley, 71

Sue Skaggs McKinley, 71, of Plainview Drive in Campbellsville, Ky., died at 1:03 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004.

Daughter of the late Albert Leslie Skaggs Sr. and Katherine Laha Skaggs, she was born on April 25, 1933 in Green County, Ky.

She was a member of Campbellsville Christian Church and retired as a teacher from the Campbellsville Independent School System after 27 years of service.

She was married to Charles McKinley on June 4, 1952. He survives.

Other survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Nancy McKinley of Rochester, Minn., and Jeff and Jane McKinley of Ringgold, Ga.; one daughter, Janie Ellis of Columbia, Ky.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Stephens and Sally Johnson, both of Louisville, Ky., and Virginia Matthews of Greenville, N.C.; and one brother, Kenneth Skaggs of Winter Haven, Fla.

Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 3 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by Dr. Paul W. Patton and Joe Hatchett. Burial will be in Brookside cemetery.

Pallbearers are Frank Hardin, Ron McMahan, John Miller, John Raganas, Richard RoBards, William A. Wethington, Harlie White and Jack Whitley.

Family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Campbellsville Christian Church Building Fund or Benevolence Fund. Both can be made at the funeral home.
