Frances Mae Durham, 86, of Campbellsville died at 6:50 a.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2011 in Greensburg, Ky.

Daughter of the late Fred Marple and Callie Fisher Marple, she was born in Taylor County on July 20, 1925. She was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church.

She was married to Donald Keith Durham in 1983. He preceded her in death on Nov. 24, 1994.

Barbara J. Hayes, 84

Barbara J. Hayes, 84, of Campbellsville died Sunday, July 31, 2011.

She was a member of Robinson Creek Baptist Church in Campbellsville.

Survivors include a daughter and her spouse, Michelle and Clayton Lord of Elizabethtown, Ky.; a son, Daniel and Lisa Hayes of Arabi, La.; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Hayes of Longmon, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was cremated. Memorial service is at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 21 at Robinson Creek Baptist Church.

Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville, Ky. was in charge of arrangements.

Melba Jean Jones, 80

Melba Jean Jones, 80, of Greensburg, Ky. died Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, Ky.

Survivors include a daughter, Alicia Jeanne Bonta of Greensburg.

Funeral is at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 29, at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg. Burial is in New Salem cemetery. Bros. Landon Hadley and Wilbur Bonta will officiate.

Velma Jean Pollock Mills, 85

Velma Jean Pollock Mills, 85, of Ekron, Ky. died Monday, July 25, 2011.

She was the daughter of the late Rev. Kirby and Ruth Philpot Pollock,

She was married to Edwin A. Mills, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Edwina and Larry Rowell, Campbellsville, Ruth Ann and Glenn Mills-Moore of New Castle, Ky., Eleanor and Chris Spry of Murray, Ky. and Steven Thomas and Dolly Mills of Louisville, Ky.

Wayne D. Dudgeon, 66

Wayne D. Dudgeon, 66, of Elizabethtown, Ky., formerly of Taylor County, died Friday, July 22, 2011, at his home.

Son of the late Willie Frank and Virginia Davis Dudgeon, he was a member of St. James Catholic Church, a member of Knights of Columbus Council #1455 Elizabethtown and a member of American Legion Post 113.

He worked at Gates Rubber Co. and at Southern States and he was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He was married to Jean Ryan Dudgeon, who survives.

Charles Harvey Hearon, 92

Charles Harvey Hearon, 92, of Hearon Road in Campbellsville died Friday, July 22, 2011, at Grandview Nursing Home after an illness.

He was the son of the late Woodruff and Flora Rucker Hearon.

He married Mattie Burress Hearon, who preceded him in death.

Survivors include two sons, James Burr Hearon and Thomas Brooks Hearon, both of Campbellsville.

Funeral was Monday, July 25 at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home in Campbellsville. Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Bro. Robert Cutler officiated.

James Walter 'Jim' Mattingly Jr., 66

James Walter "Jim" Mattingly Jr., 66, of Lebanon, Ky. died Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011, at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon.

He was the son of the late Mary Louise Mattingly and James Walter "Jim" Mattingly Sr. of Lebanon.

He was married to Dianne Blandford Mattingly, who survives.

He died with his son, James Walter "Jamie" Mattingly, III.

G.R. 'Mad Dog' Coyle, 58

G.R. “Mad Dog” Coyle, 58, of Campbellsville, died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, after a long illness.

He was the son of the late Jack Coyle and Betty Bottoms Coyle of Campbellsville.

He was married to Lucille Allen Coyle, who survives.

Survivors also include a daughter, Amanda Ferguson of Campbellsville.

Funeral was Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Lebanon National cemetery with full military honors by the Marion County DAV. Bro. George Hourigan officiated.

Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home in Campbellsville was in charge of arrangements.

Ethel Wood, 82

Ethel Wood, 82, of Campbellsville, died at 4:25 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012, in Campbellsville.

Daughter of the late James Wesley “Went” Dile and Alta Zena Rogers Dile, she was born in Green County, Ky., on July 28, 1929. She was a member of Elkhorn Baptist Church.

She was married to David Wood on Jan. 22, 1949. He preceded her in death Sept. 14, 1996.

Charles Wesley Dudgeon, 75

Charles Wesley Dudgeon, 75, of Hopkinsville, Ky., formerly of Campbellsville, died at 6:44 p.m., Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, in Hopkinsville.

Son of the late Jimmie Dudgeon and Laura Yates Dudgeon Larimore, he was born in Taylor County on June 23, 1936.

Survivors include a brother, Jimmy Jeff Dudgeon of Campbellsville; a brother-in-law, Rex Brown of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Patsy Brown, Dorothy Milby and Viva Jo Dudgeon.

John 'Johnnie' King Stephenson, 85

John “Johnnie” King Stephenson, 85, of Taylor County, died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, at Taylor Regional Hospital after an illness.

He was the son of the late Will Stephenson and Martha Stephenson Jones.

Funeral was Saturday, Feb. 18, at Jones Chapel cemetery. Bro. Jimmie Knifley officiated.

Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home in Campbellsville was in charge of arrangements.

Charolette Mae Murphy Cochran, 61

Charolette Mae Murphy Cochran, 61, of Casey County, Ky., died Monday, March 19, 2012, in Lexington, Ky.

She was a daughter of the late Murl and Effie Lay Murphy.

She was married to Michael Cochran, who survives.

Survivors also include daughters, Delta Dawn Carman of King Mountain, Ky. April Denise Wilson of Hustonville, Ky., and Lisa Kerns of Jamestown, Ky.

Funeral was Friday, March 23, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home in Liberty. Bros. Dwight Coffman, Jerry Adams, and Howard Godby officiated.

Burial was in Poplar Grove cemetery.

Avery Earl Ashbrook, 89

Avery Earl Ashbrook, 89, of Russell Springs, Ky., died Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at his home.

He was the son of the late Abner Thomas Ashbrook and Maudi Gaskin Ashbrook.

Survivors include a son, Glenn Ashbrook of Campbellsville; and a daughter, Theresa Pendygraft of Louisville, Ky.

Funeral was Friday, March 23, at Russell Springs United Methodist Church.

Bro. Jim Kingry officiated.

Wilson Funeral Home in Russell Springs was in charge of the arrangements.

Carolyn Rogers, 61

Carolyn Rogers, 61, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., formerly of Russell Springs, Ky., died Tuesday, March 27, 2012, in South Carolina.

She was the daughter of Lucy Atchley Garrett of Greensburg, Ky.

Rodgers was a writer, poet and loved to sing Christian songs. She was known for her loving spirit, outgoing personality and the ability to start a conversation with anyone.

She enjoyed walking on the beach with her family, especially her grandson. She always said that a kiss on the cheek from her grandson was like receiving energy sugars.

Terry Carl Beams, 63

Terry Carl Beams, 63, of Campbellsville, died at 10:38 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2012, in Elizabethtown, Ky.

He was the son of the late Lionel Carl Beams and Aileen Underwood Beams.

He was married to Sharon Kay Ennis, who survives.

Survivors also include three daughters and a son, Trina Leigh Murphy of Campbellsville, Tina Kay Simpson of Georgetown, Ky., Tammy Carol Spencer of Cookeville, Tenn. and Trenton Carl Beams of Spring Hill, Fla.

Johnny Ray Newton, 48

Johnny Ray Newton, 48, died at 1 a.m. on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, in Campbellsville.

He was the son of Melvin "Shorty" Newton of Campbellsville and the late Ernestine Keltner Malone.

He was married to Debra Ledford, who survives.

Survivors also include a son and three daughters, Wendell Reynolds of Green County, Ky., and Megan Priddy, Michelle Davis Newton and Morgan Newton, all of Campbellsville; a stepmother, Delores Burchett Newton of Campbellsville; and a stepfather, David Malone of Campbellsville.

Bessie Belle Clark, 78

Bessie Belle Clark, 78, of Ingram Avenue in Campbellsville, died Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Taylor Regional Hospital after an illness.

She was the daughter of the late John Wiser and Grace Russell Wiser.

She was married to Edward L. Clark, who survives.

Survivors also include three sons, David Clark of Campbellsville, Tommy Clark of Lebanon, Ky., and Johnny Clark of Spurlington, Ky.

Funeral was Tuesday, March 27, at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel in Campbellsville. Burial was in Lebanon National cemetery. Deacon Joe Dant officiated.

Rebecca Jo 'Becky' Ponder, 55

Rebecca Jo "Becky" Ponder, 55, of Greensburg, Ky., died Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at her home in Greensburg.

She was the daughter of the late Theodore and Kathleen Fredrick Patterson.

Survivors include four children, Tammy Ponder, April Ponder and Heather Ervin, all of Green County, Ky., and Laura Craynon of Somerset, Ky.

Funeral was Sunday, April 1, at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg. Burial was in Marcum Family cemetery. Bro. Greg Whitlow officiated.
