Bernis Ray Reynolds, 58, of Valley View Circle in Lebanon, Ky., formerly of Taylor County, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, in Lebanon.

He was the son of Eva Reynolds of Lebanon and the late Ray Reynolds.

Survivors include a son and a daughter, Joe Reynolds and Melinda Wright, all of Greensburg, Ky.

Funeral was Tuesday, Nov. 16 at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home in Campbellsville. Burial was in Chappel cemetery in Taylor County. The Rev. Earl Hazel officiated.

Betty Jean Thompson Young, 66

Betty Jean Thompson Young, 66, of Big Clifty, Ky., formerly of Hodgenville, Ky. and Gleanings, Ky., died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2010, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Ky.

She was the daughter of the late Ben Simpson and Emma Stillwell Thompson.

She was married to Willard Ray Thompson, who survives.

Funeral was Sunday, Nov. 14 at Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven, Ky. Bro. Matt Trumbo officiated. Cremation followed the service.

Allene Cox, 97

Allene Cox, 97, of Campbellsville died at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, in Greensburg, Ky. Daughter of the late Al Thomas Rogers and Beatrice Wade Rogers, she was born on Dec. 18, 1912, in Adair County, Ky. She was a member of Hogards Chapel United Methodist Church. She was retired from Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.

She was married to Clarence C. Cox on March 18, 1935. He preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 1997.

William 'Bill' Skaggs, 81

William "Bill" Skaggs, 81, of Fairdale, Ky., formerly of Campbellsville, died at 3:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, in Louisville, Ky.

Son of the late James Franklin Skaggs and Lillian Whitlow Skaggs, he was born on Aug. 8, 1929, in Bridgepoint, Ind. He was a retired pipefitter, welder and crane operator with American Air Filter.

He was married to Jewell Smith on Nov. 22, 1955. She survives.

Sylvia Darlene 'Dean' Houk Jeffries, 65

Sylvia Darlene "Dean" Houk Jeffries, 65, of Greensburg, Ky., died Monday, Nov. 8, 2010, at Jane Todd Crawford Hospital.

Daughter of the late Boyce T. Houk and Ann Elizabeth Judd Houk, she was born on Jan. 22, 1945, in Green County, Ky.

Funeral was Thursday, Nov. 11 at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg.

Burial was in Kessler cemetery in Green County. Bro. Steve Bunch officiated.

Abby Perry, 96

Abby Perry, 96, of Campbellsville died at 12:39 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, in Campbellsville.

Daughter of the late Kelse Blanton and Carrie Rice Blanton, he was born on June 3, 1914, in McGuffey, Ohio. She was a member of Broadway Church of Christ in Campbellsville.

She was married to Garland Jackson, who preceded her in death.

She later married John Perry, who preceded her in death.

Rebecca Litchfield, 81

Rebecca Litchfield, 81, of Beechwood Drive in Campbellsville died Monday, Nov. 8, 2010, at Green Valley Care Center in Indiana after a short illness.

She was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Rebecaa Maude Gray.

She was married to Carlos Edward Litchfield, who preceded her in death.

Eleanor Jean Laytart, 70

Eleanor Jean Laytart, 70, of Gaddis Ridge Road in Elk Horn died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, after an illness.

Daughter of the late Thomas Isaac and Emma Marie Blair Issac, she was a member of Mannsville Christian Church and was a former employee of Cynthiana Police Department, Southside School and Harrison Memorial Hospital.

She was married to Albert Laytart, who survives.

Bertha Nell Blakeman, 101

Bertha Nell Blakeman, 101, of Green County, Ky., died Thursday, March 15, 2012, at Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, Ky.

She was the daughter of the late John and Laura Walker Hancock. She was married to Stanley Blakeman, who preceded her in death. Survivors include a son, John Stanley Blakeman.

Funeral was Saturday, March 17 at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg. The Rev. Dale Curry officiated.

James Bradley Thompson

Mr. James Bradley Thompson , the son of the late Howard Thompson and Cleo Thornton Thompson of Mt. Sherman. James was born August 9, 1947 in Green County and departed this life on March 28, 2010 at his residence in Campbellsville, Ky. He was 62 years, seven months and nineteen days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Mount Union Church. He was a faithful member until his health failed.

He left to cherish his memory 1 daughter: Jarilla Faith Blake (Pumpkin) of Killeen, Texas and 1 son: James Taylor (Poodie) of Campbellsville, Ky., 1 grandson: Dumarier and 2 granddaughters: Leticia and Ontil, all of Killeen, Texas, 1 brother: John Thomas Thompson (Margaret) of Allendale, Ky. and 3 sisters: Darlene Higgen (William) of Keene, Ky, Virginia Griffin (James) of Greensburg, Ky. and Evelyn Nuckols of Horse Cave, Ky. 1 brother preceded him in death: Deroy Thompson. He had one brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Joseph Nuckols and Esther Vaughn Thompson preceded him in death. 1 uncle Stanley Goodin of Hodgenville, Ky. A host of nieces and nephews and other family and friends. A special friend: Barbara Smith of Louisville, Ky. A special thanks to Lou Ann Thompson, Paul Allen Mitchell, Carl Louis Alexander, Jason Nuckols, T.J. Thompson and Randal Rafferty (special friend)

Place and Time of Service: Mt. Union Baptist Church, 1:00 P.M. Friday, April 2, 2010

Pauline Duff Bowling Hunt

Pauline Duff Bowling Hunt formerly of Greensburg, KY., was born July 10, 1926 in Perry County., KY to the late Robert E. and Jeannie Jo Martin Duff. She departed this life Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at the Dawson Springs Health and Rehab Center, having attained the age of eighty-three years, eight months and thirteen days.

Mrs. Hunt had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Worldwide Church of God and attended United Church of God, she was also a homemaker.

She is survived by one son: Sid Bowling and his wife Jean and two daughters: Joy Wilson Scruggs and her husband Phil, all of Greensburg and Faith Bowling of Albuquerque, New Mexico, nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Master Trenton Allen Michael Bray

Master Trenton Allen Michael Bray the infant son of Hannah Young Bray and Joseph Bray, was stillborn Friday at University of Louisville Hospital. Besides his parents, he is survived by grandparents: Joe and Tracy Bray of Campbellsville and Dennis and Carolyn Young of Greensburg, and great-grandmothers: Sue Bray of Knifley and Helen Dial of Greensburg. He is also survived by aunts: Katelyn Bray of Campbellsville and Kasey and Heather Young of Greensburg. He is preceded in death by grandparents: Howard and Etta Overstreet and Buford Dial, great-grandparents: William Bray and Harry and Katherine Young and cousin: Briley Jones.

A funeral service will be conducted 2 P.M. Central Time Monday afternoon at the Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg with Rev.. Kerry Yates officiating. Burial will follow in the Haven Hill cemetery in Columbia. Friends may call after 10 A.M. Central Time Monday morning at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home.

Hubert Davis

HUBERT DAVIS, AGE 81 OF THE SUMMERSVILLE COMMUNITY passed away THURSDAY AT JANE TODD CRAWFORD HOSPITAL IN GREENSBURG. HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE STELLA DAVIS, ONE SON KERRY DAVIS (LANETTA), TWO STEP-CHILDREN LOUISE PRICE (BILL), JIMMY LEWIS (DEBBIE), THREE SISTERS: GENEVA HIGGASON, CELSIE STEWART, AND RACHEL SMITH, TWO GRANDCHILDREN: KYLE DAVIS AND LINDSEY FIELDS (STEVEN), AND THREE GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: BRADLEY AND KEATON DAVIS AND ETHAN FIELDS ALL OF GREENSBURG.

Ms. Lilly Lowder, age 68 of Greensburg passed away Monday evening at the University of Louisville Hospital. Funeral arrangements for Ms. Lilly Lowder are incomplete at this time and will be announced later by the Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greesnburg.

Jeff Adkins

Jeff Adkins was born August 23, 1973 in Green County, KY., to Barbara Lovins Adkins and the late Jerry Adkins. He departed this life Thursday, January 14, 2010, having attained the age of thirty-six years, four months and twenty-two days.

Mr. Adkins had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Methodist faith, and he worked as a handyman.

He is survived by three sons: Nathen Tyler, Daniel Thompson, and Jeffery Adkins, Jr., all of Cutler, Illinois. He is also survived by two sisters: Vicky Anderson (Todd) and Kerry Adkins both of Greensburg, plus a host of other relatives and friends.

Dorothy Jean Shaw

Dorothy Jean Shaw, age 78 formerly of Franklin, Indiana passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Campbellsville Retirement Home in Taylor County. She was born November 19, 1931 in Indiana to the late John and Mattie (Cannon) Helms. She was married to Edward Shaw, who preceded her in death December 8, 1986.

She is survived by two sons, Charles "Chuck" Shaw of Campbellsville, Ky., and Donald "Donnie" Shaw of Franklin, Ind., four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Faye McDonald of Franklin and Mae Murray of Franklin. Besides her parents, and her husband she was preceded in death by one sister Villa Helms.

Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Jean Shaw will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 15, 2010 at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, in Franklin, Ind. Friends may call on Friday, January 15th from 11:00 A.M. to the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenlawn cemetery in Franklin, Ind.
