Loretta Cox Edwards

Loretta Cox Edwards was born April 6, 1933 in Green County, Kentucky to the late Guy Wesley and Adele Foster Cox. She departed this life March 4, 2013 at her home in Green County, Kentucky, having attained the age of seventy-nine years, ten months and twenty-eight days.

Loretta had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member and former Sunday School Teacher at the Greensburg Baptist Church. She was also a homemaker who loved her family. Loretta was an active member of the Green County Democratic Women's Club for many years. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-eight years O.C. "Buck" Edwards, and an infant daughter, Pamela Kay Edwards.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law: Steve and Camellia Edwards and Richard and Savona Edwards, all of Green County, and Tony and Sharon Edwards of Lawrenceburg; five grandchildren, Misty Nicole Edwards, Jamie Edwards Judd, Derek Steven Edwards, Blake Allen Edwards and Zachary McLane Edwards; and three great-grandchildren, Bryson Thomas Edwards, Landon Matthew Judd and Brady Clark Edwards, special caregivers, Peggy Patterson and Ruby Diane Smith, plus a host of other relatives and friends.

Place and Time of Funeral: Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home, 10 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013

Visitation: 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 7 a.m. Thursday

Mary Elizabeth "Susie" White

Mary Elizabeth "Susie" White was born January 6, 1925 in Green County, KY to the late Sam Alvea White and El Dora Judd White. She departed this life Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at the Golden Living Center-Green Hill, Greensburg, KY, having attained the age of eighty-eight years, one month and thirteen days.

Susie had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Ladies Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a cook at the Green Hill Nursing Home for 28 years, 4 months and twenty-four days, as she was often heard to say. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters: Bob, Pete, Joe, Drew and Wilson "Dad" White, Esther Milby, Betty White, Easer Patterson and Rener White.

She was a mother to Vicky Robbins and Glenda Turner and many, many more. She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Place and Time of Service: Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home, 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013

Visitation: After 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013

Vernon Eugene Bagby

Vernon Eugene Bagby was born December 11, 1940 in Green County, KY to the late Beckham and Lela Acree Bagby. He departed this life Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, KY, having attained the age of seventy-two years, one month and thirteen days.

Vernon had made a profession of faith in Christ and served as deacon, trustee and held other various positions at the Greensburg Baptist Church. He was a former Green County Judge and Funeral Director and Embalmer at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers and one sister: James, Ellis and Rupert Bagby and Dimple Mosz.

He was united in marriage to Elva Jo Rodgers Bagby, who survives. He is survived by one brother and sister-in-law: Jr. and Clydene Bagby and one sister: Lassie Schmidt and brother-in-law: Eugene Mosz all of Campbellsville, KY and two sister-in-laws: Billie Bagby of Colorado and Shirley Bagby of Greensburg, KY. He is also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Kenneth and Naomi Ruth Rodgers of Campbellsville and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Jerry Wayne and Anita Rodgers of Campbellsville, plus a host of other relatives and friends.

Place and time of service: Greensburg Baptist Church, 2 p.m. central time, Sun., Jan. 27, 2013

Visitation: After 5 p.m. Saturday and after 7 a.m. Sunday at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home & after 12 noon Sunday at Greensburg Baptist Church

Sarah Hortense Bradshaw Moran

Sarah Hortense Bradshaw Moran was born August 25, 1928 in Green County, KY to the late W.T. and Tiny Wells Bradshaw. She departed this life January 23, 2013 at the Norton Healthcare Pavilion, Louisville, KY, having attained the age of eighty-four years, four months and twenty-eight days.

She is survived by two sons: Steve Moran of Mt. Washington, KY and Kevin Moran of Campbellsville, KY and one daughter: Rhonda Theising of Louisville, KY, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one sister: Mary Frances Wright of Greensburg, KY, plus a host of other relatives and friends.

Edwin Earl Pierce

Edwin Earl Pierce, age 68 of Louisville, formally of Green County, passed away Monday at the University of Louisville Hospital. He is survived by one sister: Mae Hardison of Talahassee, Florida and one grandson: Cody Pierce.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, January 28, 2013 at the Kentucky Veterans cemetery in Radcliff, KY. For more information please call Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg.

Alfred Bryant

Alfred Thomas Bryant was born August 5, 1939 in Hart County, KY to the late Otha and Annie Mary Green Bryant. He departed this life Friday, January 11, 2013 at his home in Green County, KY, having attained the age of seventy-three years, five months and six days.

Mr. Bryant was of the Baptist Faith. He was a United States Army Veteran, serving during the Vietnam Conflict. He was retired farmer.

He is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law: Chris Bryant of Greensburg, Garry and Sandy Bryant of Hudson, KY, Terry and Loretta Green of Louisville, two daughters and one son-in-law: Amanda and Wayne Moran of Greensburg, Bonnie Holloway of Indiana, one brother and sister-in-law: Buck and Alice Bryant of Greensburg, one sister and brother-in-law: Dora and Odeen Warf of St. Martinsville, Louisiana and his ex-wife: Martha Cox of Louisville, sixteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

Max E. Calhoun

Max E. Calhoun, age 56, husband of Jeanna Calhoun, did Wed. Jan. 9, 2013. Born Sept. 2, 1956 in Green County, KY, he was the son of the late Frank Calhoun, Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Gartin Calhoun. Mr. Calhoun was a production team leader for Toyota for 25 years and a member of the Second Baptist Church in Greensburg, KY. He was a motorcycle and car enthusiast, enjoying auto body work and belonging to the Gold Wing Road Riders Association. Survivors other that his wife include two children: Kim Calhoun (Kenyon), Max Calhoun, Jr.: six stepchildren: Jonathan Cox, Jade Blanton, Teresa Mitchell, Denise Underwood, Missy Orberson and Ray Sherrill: grandchildren, Kenya, Kenden, Colton, Jeremy, Jessica, Michael, Amber, Timmy, Chryslee, Matt, Ryan, Austin; one great grandchild, Taylor, Brothers and sisters: Beverly, Terry (Shonny), Lynn, Eric, Cecil, Frankie, Mark and Andre (Patricia) Calhoun; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 4 - 8 p.m. CST Sat. at the Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg. A second visitation will be held 12 - 5 p.m. Sunday with a 5 p.m. service at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Road, Lexington with Jeremy Taylor and Rev. Andre Calhoun officiating.

Fay Smith, 67

Fay Smith, 67, of Campbellsville died at 10:20 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, in Campbellsville.

Daughter of the late John Dewey Hunt and Bessie Leona Bennett Hunt, she was born in Taylor County on Feb. 6, 1940. She was a member of Lowell Avenue Baptist Church and was an employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville for 27 years.

She was married to Glenfield Smith on July 4, 1970. He survives.

Mayrine Rogers, 82

Mayrine Rogers, 82, of Columbia, Ky., died at 4:48 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Ky., after a long illness.

Daughter of the late Melvin and Zada Willis Downey of Adair County, Ky., she was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star #835 in Columbia, was active with Republican Party political activities for many years and was a long-time farmer.

She was married to Chesley G. Rogers, who preceded her in death in 1967.

Velva Mae DeSpain, 58

Velva Mae DeSpain, 58, of Hodgenville, Ky., died Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, at her home.

Daughter of Opal Thompson of Hodgenville and the late Arthur Thompson, she was married to McArthur DeSpain of Hodgenville, who survives.

Georgia Mitchell Paxton, 88

Georgia Mitchell Paxton, 88, of Green County, Ky., died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007, at Sunrise Nursing Home in Hodgenville, Ky.

Daughter of the late Samuel Richard Mitchell and Talmadge Shirrell Mitchell Ferrill, she was born on April 15, 1919 in Green County. She was a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church and a Green County School teacher for 37 years, having retired in May 1977. She was a member of the Retired Teacher Association, Red Hatters Society and an American Red Cross Blood Mobile volunteer.

Roger Daniel DeSpain, 37

Roger Daniel DeSpain, 37, of Hodgenville, Ky., died Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, at his home.

Survivors include his father, McArthur DeSpain of Hodgenville; a brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Margaret DeSpain of Buffalo, Ky.; a grandmother, Opal Thompson of Hodgenville; an uncle and aunt, Roger Dewayne and Rita Thompson of Buffalo; a niece; two nephews; and a great-nephew.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jeff DeSpain; and a grandfather, Arthur Thompson.

Harvey Little, 74

Harvey Little, 74, of Greensburg, Ky., formerly of Campbellsville, died at 8:57 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007, in Campbellsville.

Son of the late James Clifford Little and Lola Mae Smith Little, he was born in Taylor County on Nov. 2, 1932. He was a member of Greensburg United Methodist Church, was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict and was a retired heavy equipment operator in the construction business.

He was married to Ershell Whitehead, who preceded him in death in 1995.

Claudie Bragg, 85

Claudie Bragg, 85, of Oriole Lane in Campbellsville died at 10:36 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville.

Daughter of the late Harry and Flossie Coomer Firquin, she was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church in Campbellsville and was a homemaker.

She was married to Eldridge Bragg, who preceded her in death on June 26, 1985.

Jack Arvin, 84

Jack Arvin, 84, of Hodgenville Road in Campbellsville died at 6:08 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, 2007, in Elizabethtown, Ky.

Son of the late George C. Arvin Sr. and Virgie Sapp Arvin, he was born in Taylor County on Nov. 2, 1923. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church and was a retired employee of Ashland Oil Co. and a retired farmer.

He was married to Kathryn Boston on July 15, 1944. She survives.

Goldie Mae Murphy, 91

Goldie Mae Murphy, 91, of Louisville, Ky., formerly of Taylor County, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, in Louisville.

She was born Nov. 11, 1915.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Robert Murphy, on Feb. 15, 1978.

Mark Allen Shofner, 33

Mark Allen Shofner, 33, of Summersville, Ky., died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

Son of Alvin Theodore and Mildred Aline Cox of Summersville, he was born on Dec. 14, 1973, in Jefferson County, Ky.
