Roger 'Pop' Despain, 68

Roger "Pop" Despain, 68, of Buffalo, Ky. died at 2:27 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010, in Buffalo.

Son of the late Luther Despain and Estelle Underwood Despain, he was born on Feb. 25, 1942, in Taylor County. He was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church and was retired from Ford Motor Company after 38 years of service.

He was married to Janice Cline on Sept. 1, 1961. She survives.

Adla Johnson Handley, 72

Adla Johnson Handley, 72 of Hodgenville, Ky., died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.

She was the daughter of the late Nathan Wence and Alice V. Coakley Johnson.

She was married to Robert Henry Handley, who survives.

Survivors also include two daughters, Georgia Handley Pena of Elizabethtown and Jackie Handley of Hodgenville; and two sons, Robert Glenn Handley and Troy Donahue Handley, both of Campbellsville.

Stella Mae Young Duncan, 51

Stella Mae Young Duncan, 51, of Hatcher Road in Campbellsville died Sunday Oct. 10, 2010, at her home after an illness.

She was the daughter of the late Isles and Pauline Williams Young.

She was married to Jeffrey Duncan, who survives.

Survivors also include two sons, Joe Duncan of Campbellsville and Efrain Duncan of Louisville, Ky.; a daughter, Susheela Williams of Campbellsville; and an adopted son and daughter, Deaven Meece and Jacqueline Meece, both of Campbellsville.

Billy Gene Walker, 60

Billy Gene Walker, 60, of Greensburg, Ky., died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010, at his home in the Summersville Community of Green County.

He was the son of Eugene F. Walker of Summersville and Ola Milby Sharp of Summersville.

Funeral was Saturday, Oct. 16 at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg. Burial was in Wilson cemetery. Bros. Robert Knight and Jimmy Tucker officiated.

Donna Sue VanGilder Wright, 61

Donna Sue VanGilder Wright, 61, of Greensburg, Ky., died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, at her home.

She was the daughter of the late Alva R. VanGilder and Helen I. Dierking VanGilder.

Funeral was Tuesday, Oct. 26 at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg. Burial was in New Salem Church cemetery. Bros. Jim Collison and Wilburn Bonta officiated.

Clayton Garrison, 73

Clayton Garrison, 73, of Greensburg, Ky. died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010, at Jane Todd Crawford Hospital.

He was the son of the late Coy Thomas Garrison and Christina Thompson Garrison and was raised by the late Gertrude Garrison.

Funeral was Saturday, Oct. 16 at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg. Burial was in Greasy Creek cemetery. Bros. Mark Lile and Wilburn Bonta officiated.

Howard Alexander Miller, 72

Howard Alexander Miller, 72, of Green County, Ky. died Oct. 19, 2010, at Kindred Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

He was the son of the late Laura Ellen Miller and Tobe Alexander Miller.

Survivors include three daughters, Stella Vonnie Rice of Campbellsville and Veronica Harlan and Crystal Wilson, both of Indianapolis, Ind.

Funeral was Saturday, Oct. 23 at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg. The Revs. Matt Smyzer Jr. and James C. Jackson Jr. officiated. Burial was in Old Community cemetery in Greensburg, Ky.

Milton Edgar 'Mutt' Farmer

Milton Edgar "Mutt" Farmer of Taylor County died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at Taylor Regional Hospital.

He was the son of the late Jim Matt and Annie Benningfield Farmer.

He was married to Emma Page Farmer on June 5, 1936. She preceded him in death on April 18, 2006.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Wilma Farmer of Campbellsville; two daughters and a son-in-law, Frances and Paul Anderson of Campbellsville and Georgia Jacobs of Corbin, Ky.; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

Joan Harrison, 81

Joan Harrison, 81, of Campbellsville, died at 9:20 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, in Campbellsville.

Daughter of the late David Wood Wintsch and Girtha Poore Wintsch, she was born in Hart County, Ky., on Sept. 5, 1930. She was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church and was a retired bookkeeper.

She was married to Charles Lee “Cotton” Harrison on May 21, 1950. He preceded her in death on Nov. 12, 1960.

She married Howard Spratt on March 17, 1987. He preceded her in death on March 29, 2010.

Betty Yvonne Wilkerson, 48

Betty Yvonne Wilkerson, 48, of Munfordville, Ky., died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, at Caverna Memorial Hospital in Horse Cave, Ky.

She was the daughter of Betty Louise Cahoe Bryant of Munfordville and the late Harvey Lee Bryant.

She was married to Gregory Wilkerson, who survives.

Survivors also include two daughters, Mandy Mouser of Bardstown, Ky., and Sherry Lorene Wilkerson of Indianapolis, Ind.; and a son, Michael Eugene Wilkerson of Munfordville.

Leonora Marie DeRogatis Warf, 77

Leonora Marie DeRogatis Warf, 77, of Danville, Ky., died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012, at Danville Center for Health & Rehabilitation.

Daughter of the late Pasquale and Carmela DeRogatis, she was born on April 3, 1934, in Philadelphia, Pa. She was a homemaker, past president of the Woman’s Council and a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Campbellsville.

G.R. 'Mad Dog' Coyle, 58

G.R. “Mad Dog” Coyle, 58, of Campbellsville, died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, after a long illness.

He was the son of the late Jack Coyle and Betty Bottoms Coyle of Campbellsville.

He was married to Lucille Allen Coyle, who survives.

Survivors also include a daughter, Amanda Ferguson of Campbellsville.

Funeral was Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Lebanon National cemetery with full military honors by the Marion County DAV. Bro. George Hourigan officiated.

Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home in Campbellsville was in charge of arrangements.

Ethel Wood, 82

Ethel Wood, 82, of Campbellsville, died at 4:25 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012, in Campbellsville.

Daughter of the late James Wesley “Went” Dile and Alta Zena Rogers Dile, she was born in Green County, Ky., on July 28, 1929. She was a member of Elkhorn Baptist Church.

She was married to David Wood on Jan. 22, 1949. He preceded her in death Sept. 14, 1996.

Charles Wesley Dudgeon, 75

Charles Wesley Dudgeon, 75, of Hopkinsville, Ky., formerly of Campbellsville, died at 6:44 p.m., Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, in Hopkinsville.

Son of the late Jimmie Dudgeon and Laura Yates Dudgeon Larimore, he was born in Taylor County on June 23, 1936.

Survivors include a brother, Jimmy Jeff Dudgeon of Campbellsville; a brother-in-law, Rex Brown of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Patsy Brown, Dorothy Milby and Viva Jo Dudgeon.

John 'Johnnie' King Stephenson, 85

John “Johnnie” King Stephenson, 85, of Taylor County, died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, at Taylor Regional Hospital after an illness.

He was the son of the late Will Stephenson and Martha Stephenson Jones.

Funeral was Saturday, Feb. 18, at Jones Chapel cemetery. Bro. Jimmie Knifley officiated.

Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home in Campbellsville was in charge of arrangements.

Robert 'Bob' LaGodney, 69

Robert “Bob” LaGodney, 69, of Campbellsville, died at 10:08 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, in Campbellsville.

Son of the late Otto Florian LaGodney and Rose Marie Solzan LaGodney, he was born in Detroit, Mich., on Sept. 11, 1942. He was owner and operator of Bell Bakery in Campbellsville for many years and was a former employee of A.M. General in Indiana.

He was married to Joyce Buchmiller on Aug. 12, 1961. She survives.

Henry Ping Marr, 84

Henry Ping Marr, 84, of Elizabethtown, Ky., died Monday, Feb. 13, 2012.

Survivors include three sons, Ricky Marr and Terry Marr of Summersville, Ky., and H.W. Marr of Cecilia, Ky. Funeral was Thursday, Feb. 16, at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg, Ky.

Burial was in Bennett cemetery.

Bro. Kelvin Edwards officiated.

Donald M. Taylor, 70

Donald M. Taylor, 70, formerly of Campbellsville, died on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at Tri-City Memorial Hospital in Oceanside, Calif.

Memorial service will be Saturday, May 19, at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Campbellsville.

Nellie Puryear Campbell, 89

Nellie Puryear Campbell, 89, of Danville, Ky., died Saturday, May 5, 2012.

Survivors include three daughters, Paula Lee of Clarkson, Ky., Kathy Speer of Campbellsville and Denise Ramsey of Cadiz, Ky.; a son, John Logan Speer of Danville; and a stepson, Eddie Campbell of Danville.

Funeral was Wednesday, May 9, at Watson & Hunt Funeral Chapel in Leitchfield, Ky. Burial was in Double Springs cemetery in Waynesburg, Ky. The Rev. John David Lee officiated.

Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg, Ky., provided local obituary information.

Katelyn Brianna Snow Marshall, 18

Katelyn Brianna Snow Marshall, 18, of Elizabethtown, Ky., died Friday, May 4, 2012, at her home.

She was the daughter of Richard Marshall of Connecticut and Kimberly Snow Orman of White Mills, Ky.

She was also survived by a son, Connor Mikhail Robey.

Funeral was Tuesday, May 8, at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg, Ky. Burial was in Corby-Pierce Family cemetery.
