The Rev. Ben W. White, 77

The Rev. Ben W. White, 77, of Greensburg, Ky., died Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Ky.

He was married to Ella Ingram White, who survives.

Survivors also include a son, David Whyte of DeKalb, Ill.; and a daughter, Lucille Dixon of Bonnieville, Ky. Funeral was Wednesday, May 9, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in the Haskinsville Community of Green County, Ky. Burial was in Green County Memory Gardens in Summersville, Ky.

Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg was in charge of arrangements.

William G. 'Bear' Reese, 65

William G. “Bear” Reese, 65, of Campbellsville, died at 6:50 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2012, in Campbellsville.

Son of the late Richard E. Reese and Doris Wolford Reese, he was born in Louisville, Ky., on Jan. 27, 1947. He was a member of Meadowview Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was a retired teacher and coach with the Marion County School System.

He was married to Sharon Speer on Aug. 6, 1967. She survives.

Justin Eugene Atwood, 19

Justin Eugene Atwood, 19, of Green County, Ky., died Saturday, May 5, 2012, after being injured in an automobile accident with his girlfriend, Jade Sullivan of Campbellsville.

Son of Vernon Atwood of Greensburg, Ky., and Sonya Curry Asher of Campbellsville, he was born on May 13, 1992. He was a 2011 graduate of Green County High School. He was known for being full of life, lovable and outgoing. He had dated Jade for more than a year and was working for T.G. Kentucky in Lebanon, Ky.

Jade Makayla Sullivan, 17

Jade Makayla Sullivan, 17, of Campbellsville, died at 8:05 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2012, in Campbellsville as the result of an automobile accident.

Daughter of Charlotte Farmer Sullivan and Mike Sullivan of Campbellsville, she was born in Taylor County on July 12, 1994. She was a member of Mt. Washington Baptist Church and the Taylor County High School Class of 2012 and was employed as an assistant manager of Save-A-Lot Food Store.

Fannie Avery Asbury, 67

Fannie Avery Asbury, 67, of Green County, Ky., died Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at her home.

She was the daughter of Vera Meredith Avery of Hart County, Ky., and the late Clarence Avery.

Funeral was Friday, May 4, at Hedgespeth cemetery in Green County. Bro. Terry Carmichael officiated. Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg was in charge of arrangements.

Kenneth Edward “Eddie” Vincent, 36

Kenneth Edward “Eddie” Vincent, 36, of London, Ky. died Sunday, April 29, 2012, at his home as the result of a homicide.

Survivors include his mother, Ella Sullivan of Campbellsville.

Funeral was Thursday, May 3, at Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

Marjorie M. Slaughter, 86

Marjorie M. Slaughter, 86, of Campbellsville, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville.

She was the daughter of the late Agnes Kurtz and Art Dailing.

She was married to Roy Joseph Slaughter, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Cooper of Campbellsville, and a son, Ralph Webb of Campbellsville.

Services will take place in Chicago, Ill.

Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home in Campbellsville was in charge of arrangements.

Jason White, 35

Jason White, 35, of Elk Horn died at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, in Elk Horn after an illness.

Son of Sherry Holt Foley and Steve White, he was born on Jan. 15, 1975, in Taylor County. He was employed as a furniture maker.

Bennie Warren, 82

Bennie Warren, 82, of Campbellsville died at 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, in Campbellsville.

Daughter of the late Ben Hicks and Essie Faye Hayes Hicks, she was born on March 15, 1928, in Sugar Grove, N.C. She was a member of Campbellsville Christian Church and was a retired dietician at Medco Nursing Home.

She was married to Bluford James Moore on Jan. 7, 1950. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1987.

She later married Lonnie "Jack" Warren on June 23, 1990. He preceded her in death on June 22, 2009.

Edith Ann Perkins, 89

Edith Ann Perkins, 89, of Campbellsville died at 10:48 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010, in Campbellsville.

Daughter of the late Will P. Payne and Mary Riddle Payne, she was born on Nov. 22, 1920, in Marion County, Ky. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and was active in church work having taught Sunday School, training union and vacation bible school. She had also sung in the choir and led the singing.

Kendell Curry, 81

Kendell Curry, 81, of Campbellsville died at 3:50 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010, in Campbellsville.

Son of the late Henry Curry and Metta Houk Curry, he was born on Nov. 12, 1928, in Green County, Ky. He was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church and a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. He was a retired plumber with Carroll's Plumbing.

He was married to MayDean Atwell on March 10, 1951. She survives.

Gladys 'Edna' Enyard Pierce, 82

Gladys "Edna" Enyard Pierce, 82, of Taylor County died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at Taylor Regional Hospital after an illness.

She was the daughter of the late John Robert and Tiny Elizabeth Enyard.

She was married to Omer Lewis Pierce, who preceded her in death.

Christine Morris, 83

Christine Morris, 83, of Green County, Ky., died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010, in Bowling Green, Ky. at Greenview Regional Hospital.

She was the daughter of the late Dewey Davis and Viola Kessler Davis.

Funeral was Saturday, Oct. 30 at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg. Burial was in Oak Grove cemetery. Bros. Earlene Branstetter and Dan Alwire officiated.

James Adam Hogan, 29

James Adam Hogan, 29, of Campbellsville was found Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010, in Campbellsville. His date of death has not been determined.

He was the son of James "Jim" Horace Hogan of Campbellsville and Carole Jean Volk Hogan of Lebanon.

In addition to his parents, survivors include a son, Ryan Adam Hogan of Campbellsville.

Memorial services were Tuesday, Nov. 2 at Mannsville United Methodist Church in Mannsville, Ky.

Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville was in charge of arrangements.

Doris Marie Garland, 81

Doris Marie Garland, 81, of Murray, Ky. died Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, at 2:15 p.m. at Spring Creek Health Care.

She was the daughter of the late James and Robbie Johnson Watkins.

Survivors include a son, Michael H. Garland of Murray.

Funeral was Thursday, Nov. 4 at J.H. Churchill Funeral Home in Murray. The Rev. Kerry Lambert officiated. Burial was in North Pleasant Grove cemetery.

Myrtle Nigal Hicks, 97

Myrtle Nigal Hicks, 97, of Campbellsville died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010, at Grandview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was married to James R. Hicks, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Joann Graves of Louisville.

Funeral was Saturday, Oct. 30 at First Baptist Church in Campbellsville. The Rev. Melvin Mills officiated. Burial was in Crown Hill cemetery in Campbellsville. Buchanan, Robinson & Percell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Rella Gay Underwood, 73

Rella Gay Underwood, 73, of Campbellsville died at 10:14 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, in Campbellsville.

Daughter of Jessie Phipps Karnes of Campbellsville and the late Richard Karnes, she was born Jan. 27, 1937, in Taylor County.

She was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.

Underwood was a former employee of the Johnny Burkholder Insurance Co. and a retired employee of the central office of the Taylor County School System.

She was married to Melvin Ray Underwood on Oct. 9, 1959. He preceded her in death on Nov. 11, 2004.

Dorothy V Lemmon, 89

Dorothy V Lemmon, 89, of Taylor County, died Thursday, March 1, 2012, in Campbellsville.

She was the daughter of the late Hiram and Enda Lemmon.

Funeral was Sunday, March 4, at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel in Campbellsville. Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Lawrence Brockman Jr. officiated.

Lou Ann Riggs Turner, 71

Lou Ann Riggs Turner, 71, of Campbellsville, died at 5:32 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2012, in Louisville, Ky.

She was the daughter of the late Richard Bryant Riggs and Sindy Marie White Riggs. Funeral was Sunday, March 4, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. Burial was in Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church cemetery.

Sherry Cox, 53

Sherry Cox, 53, of Anna Court in Campbellsville, died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012, at University Hospital in Louisville after a sudden illness.

She was the daughter of the late Hubert L. and Evelyn Noel Cox.

Survivors include a son, Matthew Cross of Campbellsville.

Funeral was Sunday, Feb. 26 at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel in Campbellsville. Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Gary Wagoner Jr. officiated.

Zelma Bailey, 87

Zelma Bailey, 87, of the Speck Ridge community in Elk Horn, Ky., died Friday, March 2, 2012, at her home.

She was the daughter of the late Addie and Estile Buviss. Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Farmer of Elk Horn. Funeral was Monday, March 5, at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel in Campbellsville. Burial was in Jones Chapel cemetery.

The Revs. Larry Loy and Chris Murphy officiated.
