Elizabeth Burress, 96, of Elk Horn died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, at Medco Nursing Center after an illness.

She was the daughter of the late Orbin and Villa Elliott.

She was married to Virgil Burress, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son, Charles Burress of Mannsville; and a daughter, Louise Spurling of Elk Horn.

Funeral was Thursday, Dec. 30. Burial was in Brookside cemetery. David Mouser officiated.

Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home in Campbellsville was in charge of arrangements.

Norman Lee Lewis, 75

Norman Lee Lewis, 75, of Smith Ridge Road in Campbellsville died Monday, Dec. 27, 2010.

He was the son of the late Elmer and Nona Underwood Lewis.

Survivors include two sons, Jeffrey Lewis of Colorado and Robert Lewis of Missouri.

Funeral was Friday, Dec. 31 at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home in Campbellsville. Burial was in Good Hope cemetery. Bro. George Blevins and Les Richards officiated.

Lora E. Perry, 97

Lora E. Perry, 97, of Campbellsville died at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010, in Campbellsville.

Daughter of the late Edward Lee Powell and Nora Ellen Blankenship Powell, she was born in Green County, Ky. on Oct. 16, 1913. She had professed faith in Christ.

Survivors include two nieces, Jane Woodrum of Louisville, Ky. and Juanita Wells of Campbellsville; two great-nephews, John Woodrum of Florence, Ala. and Larry Wells of Lexington, Ky. and other relatives and friends.

Henry "Sonny" Phillips, 89

Henry "Sonny" Phillips, 89, of Robin Road in Campbellsville died Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, in Louisville, Ky.

He was the son of the late L.W. and Bertie Eads Phillips.

Survivors include a son, Stephen H. Phillips of Campbellsville.

Funeral was Dec. 28 at Campbellsville Memorial Gardens with military honors by Marion County DAV Honor Guard. Bro. Fella Wilson officiated.

Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home in Campbellsville was in charge of arrangements.

Timmy Smothers, 48

Timmy Smothers, 48, of Campbellsville died at 11 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, in Campbellsville.

Son of Mattie Jean Spurling Smothers of Campbellsville and the late Paul Smothers, he was born in Taylor County on Jan. 18, 1962. He was a member of Spurlington United Methodist Church and was a decorator, designer and salesman.

Dorothy Beard, 87

Dorothy Beard, 87, of Campbellsville died at 9:56 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, in Campbellsville.

Daughter of the late Jenkins Pickett and Willia Edwards Pickett, she was born in Adair County, Ky. on Oct. 5, 1923. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was a retired school teacher and librarian with the Campbellsville Independent School System.

She was married to James E. Beard on June 29, 1945. He preceded her in death on Oct. 5, 2000.

Pastor Ora Lee Johnson, 60

Pastor Ora Lee Johnson, 60, of Hodgenville, Ky. died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010, at Four Courts at Cherokee Park in Louisville, Ky.

She was the daughter of the late Nathan and Alice V. Coakley Johnson.

Funeral is Friday, Dec. 31 at First Baptist Church of Hodgenville. Burial is in Pleasant Union cemetery in Campbellsville.

Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville is in charge of arrangements.

Ken Dotson Jr., 43

Ken Dotson Jr., 43, of Campbellsville, died at 7:10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, in Campbellsville.

Son of Ken Dotson Sr. and Ruth Ann Powell Dotson of Campbellsville, he was born in Oneida, Tenn. on Dec. 10, 1967. He was a member of Bible Baptist Tabernacle. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in community counseling from Tennessee Temple University and was named Who's Who Among Students in American Universities. He was a published poet and had an honorary contract with the Cincinnati Reds.

Buford R. Bibb, 65

Buford R. Bibb, 65, of Green County, Ky. died Monday, Aug. 22, 2011, at Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, Ky.

He was the son of the late Henry and Mell Wright Bibb.

He was married to Judith Sprowles Bibb, who survives.

Survivors also include two daughters, Angie Durrett and April Cobb of Greensburg.

Visitation is after 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 24 at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg.

Orthella Marie Clark, 71

Orthella Marie Clark, 71, of Greensburg, Ky., died Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Ky.

Survivors include three sons, Squeezer Pierce of Greensburg, Michael Pierce of Alabama and Earle Clark of Florida; and a daughter, Kaynell Underwood of Campbellsville.

Funeral was Monday, Aug. 22 at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg. Burial was in Brooks-Pierce cemetery in Green County, Ky. Bro. Lee Warf officiated.

Anabella Marie Laytart

Anabella Marie Laytart, 6 weeks old, of Campbellsville, died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, in Campbellsville.

Infant daughter of Cody Laytart and Shana Gonterman Laytart of Campbellsville, she was born July 4, 2011, in Marion County, Ky.

Barry Wayne Morgan, 44

Barry Wayne Morgan, 44, of Horse Cave, Ky., a native of Barren County, Ky., died Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, at his home.

He was the son of Hobert Morgan of Cave City and the late Rose White Morgan.

Funeral is at 1 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 22 at Hatcher and Saddler Funeral Home in Glasgow, Ky. Graveside service is at 4 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 22 at Hogards Chapel cemetery in the Black Gnat Community of Green County, Ky.

Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg, Ky. is in charge of local arrangements.

Betty Sherrell Morrison, 71

Betty Sherrell Morrison, 71, of Florida, formerly of Taylor County, died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011, at Town and Country Hospital in Tampa, Fla.

Survivors include three stepchildren, Darrell Morrison of Campbellsville and Lynette Kessinger and Lane Morrison, both of Shelbyville, Ky.

Graveside service was Saturday, Aug. 20 at the Greensburg cemetery. Bro. Freddy Thompson officiated.

James Kenneth 'Ken' Hedrick, 77

James Kenneth "Ken" Hedrick, 77, of Campbellsville, Ky., formerly of Rose Hill, Va., died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

He was the son of the late James Braxton Hedrick and Verla Hedrick. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Gina and Mark Coker of Campbellsville; a grandson, Alex England of Campbellsville; and a sister, Lillie Jeanette Hedrick of Ewing, Va.

Kathleen 'Kathe' Carlton, 66

Kathleen "Kathe" Carlton, 66, of Campbellsville, died at home on Friday, Aug. 12, following a brief illness.

She was the daughter of the late Howard Shank and Kay Shank.

Jesse M. Kincheloe, 81

Jesse M. Kincheloe, 81, of Campbellsville, died at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011, in Campbellsville.

Son of the late William Kincheloe and Mary Evelyn Hamilton Kincheloe, he was born in Daviess County, Ky. on Dec. 23, 1929. He was a registered geologist for 50 years and served his country honorably in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, where he awarded two Purple Hearts.

He was married to Bettye Jean Mardis on Oct. 19, 1962. She survives.

Jackson L. Swears, 76

Jackson L. Swears, 76, of Mt. Washington, Ky. died at 3:18 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, in Mt. Washington.

He was the son of the late Clarence L. Swears and Ada Jackson Polley Swears.

He was married to Kodelia H. Boston, who survives.

Survivors also include three sons, Jeffrey Lynn Swears and Barry Gene Swears, both of Louisville, Ky., and Roger Alan Swears of Cox's Creek, Ky.

Funeral is at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 15 at Lebanon National cemetery.
