Deanna Lynn Crabtree
Deanna Lynn Crabtree, 52, of Horse Cave, passed away on Wednesday, June 9th, 2010 at her home. The Jefferson County native was the daughter of the late Janie Doyle Short and Raymond Short of Munfordville, who survives her. She was a lid packer for Dart Container, a member of New Hope Baptist Church and was married to Leon Crabtree.
In addition to her father she is survived by a son, Anthony Damron and his wife Charlsa of Cave City; four brothers, Paul Short, Michael Charles, and Boyd Charles, all of Williamson, KY, Kelly Short of Munfordville; two sisters, Linda Walls of Williamson, Rose Martin of Munfordville; two grandchildren, Nathan Vibbert and Ethan Damron. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Starr Vibbert.
Funeral services with Bro. Wayne Hatcher officiating will be at 2PM Sunday, June 13 at the Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel, Cave City, with burial in the Cave City cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be after 2PM Saturday.

Mr. Bobby Gene Holder, age 72 of Franklin, died Saturday, May 24th, 2008 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at Pleasant View Church at 1pm with Rev. Eddie Bigbee officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A native of Simpson County, he was the son of the late Royal Edward Holder and Bessie Lou West Holder. He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and attended Lincoln High School. He was a former employee of Pilot Truck Stop and Brown Printing. He was a United States Marine Veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife - Ruby Lee Robey Holder, a sister - Mary Vertris Holder Baird, 2 brothers - Willie “Billy” Holder and William David Holder. Survivors include 1 son - J.D. Holder and wife Donette of Franklin; 1 step son - Larry “Shine” Robey and wife Teresa of Russellville; 1 granddaughter - Brittany Holder; 2 step grandson - Justin Nourse and Jermaine Robey; 1 step great granddaughter; 4 brothers - Harold Wesley Holder of Memphis, Roy Edward Holder, Jr. and wife Betty of Franklin; Ronald Wilson Holder and wife Mary Lou of Bowling Green and Jerry Wayne Holder and wife Ruby of Berkley California; 4 sisters - Dorothy Odessa Oliver, Nancy Barbara Anthony and husband Joe, Deborah Lee Anthony and Lila Joan Lawrence and husband Leroy all of Bowling Green. Mother and father in law - Mr. & Mrs. Joe Neely Robey of Franklin; 3 sisters in law - Mary Ann Johnson and husband Terry, Jolynn Bell and husband Ricky and Frances A. Holder of Jacksonville, Fl. all of Franklin; 1 brother in law - John L. Robey of Gallatin, TN. and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation will be after 11am Tuesday with the wake being from 6 to 8pm at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Dorothy Haimann, age 67 of Franklin, died April 25th, 2008, at the Medical Center in Franklin. Body donation to science for research was chosen. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 1st at 2:00 p.m. at the Franklin Seventh Day Adventist Church on Morgantown Road. A native of Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Francis A. Lintzenich and Hazel Orvis Lintzenich. She worked as a secretary. Survivors include 1 sister - Fran Phillips of Franklin; 2 children - Stacey Barnett and Richard Haimann both of California. Crafton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Lois Sue Freeman Logan, age 66 of Woodburn, died Monday, May 12th, 2008 at her residence. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Thursday at 10am with Bro. Danny Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Woodburn cemetery. A native of Allen County, she was the daughter of the late Jim Freeman and Sylvia Costello Freeman. She had worked at Bones Electric and Hopkins Nursing Home. She was a member of Salmon General Baptist Church, Eastern Star and the Business Women’s Association. Survivors include her husband - Harold Logan of Woodburn; 1 son - Harold Logan, Jr. of Franklin; 1 daughter - Jackie Duncan of Woodburn; 4 sisters - Ernestine Jenkins of Woodburn, Dolly Wheet of Woodburn, Nina Bennett of Franklin and Charlotte Logston of Colorado; 1 brother - David Freeman of Portland, TN.; Grandchildren - Amy Logan, Allie Logan, and Casey Joe Duncan. Visitation will begin at 5pm Tuesday and after 6am Wednesday and Thursday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mr. David Nettles, age 74 of Franklin died Friday, May 9th, 2008 at the VA Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Wednesday at 2pm with burial to follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. A native of Macomb, Mississippi, he was the son of the late Willie Lee Nettles and Jennie Vee Mercer Nettles. He was an Army Veteran. Mr. Nettles was preceded in death by his wife - Shirley Wood Nettles. Survivors include 1 son - C. D. Allen of Franklin; 1 daughter - Jackie DeMarches of Franklin; 1 brother - Jesse Nettles of Madison, Ohio; 1 sister - Emma Hesketh of Jackson, Mississippi; Grandchildren - Heather Jarman, Kristi Woolbright, John DeMarches, III, Michaela DeMarches, Nathaniel DeMarches; 7 great grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 5pm Tuesday and after 6am Wednesday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ada Pearl Johnson Caudill, age 86 of Franklin, died Sunday morning, May 11th, 2008, at the Medical Center in Franklin. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Tuesday at 2pm with Bro. Harold Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn cemetery. A native of Pike County Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Mander Johnson and Cordellia Johnson. Mrs. Caudill was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. She was preceded in death by her husband - Bryan Caudill and a daughter - Linda Jean Caudill. Survivors include 5 sons - Roger D. Caudill of Rockfield, Ky., Royce G. Caudill of Auburn, Ky., Jerry Caudill of Lebanon Jct., Ky., David L. Caudill of Franklin and Michael Caudill of Portland, TN.; 2 daughters - Sharon Pratt and Sonja Thomas both of Letcher County Kentucky; 18 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 to 8pm Monday and after 6am Tuesday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mr. Philip Landrum, age 86 of Franklin, died Friday, May 9th, 2008, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Tuesday at 10am with Mr. William Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the Simpson County Honor Guard. A native of Grayson County Kentucky, he was the son of the late Walter Landrum and Bessie Green Landrum. Mr. Landrum had been a farmer since childhood and owned and operated farms in Simpson and Logan Counties. For twenty five years he was a sales representative for several farm equipment companies throughout Kentucky and Tennessee. He was a Veteran of World War II. He was a member of Locust Grove Church of Christ. From 1981 to 1996 he served on the Board of Directors at the Auburn Banking company. He was a charter member on the board for the Taylor Christian Youth Camp in Allen County. Survivors include his wife of 58 years - Sadie Reed Landrum of Franklin; 6 daughters - Alice Summerfield and husband Brody of Columbia, Missouri, Brenda Reid and husband Andy of Perry, Florida, Carolyn McDowell and husband Mike of Denver, Colorado, Marilyn Landrum of Columbia, Missouri, Patti Moore and husband Ron of Birmingham, Alabama and Jill Carr and husband Scott of Overland Park, Kansas; 1 brother - Gene Landrum of Vandilla, Illinois; 4 sisters- Florence McMullin and Betty Landrum both of Richmond, Kentucky, Louise Jernigan of Franklin and Barbara Price of Houston, Texas; 4 grandsons - Travis, Galen, Christopher & Kevin; 2 granddaughters - Megan and Stephanie; 3 step grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 to 8pm Monday and after 6am Tuesday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Mary Evelyn Hale Williams, age 76 of Franklin, died Tuesday evening, May 6th, 2008, at the Hopkins Nursing Facility in Woodburn. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Saturday at 10am with Rev. Wilbur Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemtery. A native of Simpson County, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Otis Hale and Bertha Thomason Hale. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Hale was preceded in death by her husband - Charles “Sleepy” Williams and a son Carl Edward Williams. Survivors include 3 daughters - Sharon Neighbors of Bowling Green, Cynthia Kaye Rowland and Julia Ann Brown both of Franklin; 1 son - Kevin Williams of Portland, Tenn.; 1 sister - Ruth Kapoor of Franklin; 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 3 step grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 10am Friday and after 6am Saturday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mr. Charles M. Edwards, age 89 of Franklin, died Friday evening, May 2nd, 2008, at the Hopkins Nursing Home in Woodburn. Crafton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2pm at Sulphur Spring Baptist Church with Rev. Matthew Sickling and Rev. Russell Trotter officiating. Burial will follow in Sulphur Spring cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the Simpson County Honor Guard. Mr. Edwards was born in Mississippi to the late Charles Spurgeon Edwards and Polly Lamb Edwards. He was a 1938 graduate of Middleton High School. He was the custodian at West Simpson Elementary School and Franklin Elementary from 1956 through 1989. He was a life long member of Sulphur Spring Baptist Church where he was the custodian for 44 years and served as deacon, Sunday School teacher and other leadership roles. Mr. Edwards was a World War II Army Veteran. He was preceded in death on April 3, 2008 by a daughter - Mary Edwards Spencer. Survivors include his wife - Lucy Hatter Edwards of Franklin; 1 daughter - Glenda Edwards Johnson and husband Claud of Franklin; 1 sister - Dorothy Edwards Burr of Franklin; 2 grandchildren- Kim Johnson Wren and husband Zak of Franklin and Ryan Johnson and wife Jessica of Franklin; 3 great grandsons - Dax Wren, Max Wren and Chase Johnson all of Franklin. Visitation will be from 3pm to 9pm Monday and from 6am to 11:30am Tuesday at Crafton Funeral Home. The body will lie in state at the church from 1pm until funeral time on Tuesday. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Sulphur Spring cemetery.
