Mr. Ray Lloyd Miller, age 98 of Franklin, died Monday, December 13th, 2010, at the Medical Center in Franklin. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Thursday at 1pm with Bro. Winston Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. A native of Macon County Tennessee, he was the son of the late Grover Miller and Flora Bartley Miller. He was a member of Eastside Missionary Baptist Church and was a carpenter. He was preceded in death by his wife - Lois Miller and a grandson - Mark Miller. Survivors include 1 daughter - Bonnie Absher of Lexington; 1 son - James Miller of Franklin; 1 brother - Kenneth Miller of Portland and a sister - Irene Brooks of Portland; 4 grandchildren - Melissa Gossett, Scott Absher, Ronald Absher, and Teresa Hendricks; 8 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 2pm Wednesday and after 6am Thursday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Ms. Neddye Gayle Christner, age 64 of Franklin, died Tuesday, December 7th, 2010, at the Hospice Center in Bowling Green. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where a memorial service will be held Friday at 1pm. Bro. Robert Houchins will officiate. A native of Simpson County, she was the daughter of the late Melvin D. Hall and Katie Francis Henson Hall. She was a 1964 graduate of Franklin Simpson High School and Nashville Business College as well as a member of Franklin First Baptist Church. She was an Air Force Veteran serving from 1965 through 1969. Ms. Christner was preceded in death by a sister - Susie Richmond and a daughter in law - Veronica Irene Christner. Survivors include 2 sons - Joel Maurice Christner of Michigan and Matthew Paul Christner and wife Kathleen of Franklin; 3 sisters - Melvia Lynn Smith, Brenda Lee Thurmond and Neta May Wiley all of Franklin; 3 grandsons, 2 granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 9pm Thursday and after 6am Friday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Ms. Enola Josephine Scott Hesson, age 78 of Portland, died Tuesday evening, December 7th, 2010, at the Alive Hospice Residence in Nashville. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Thursday at 3pm with Mr. Doyle Farris officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove cemetery in Portland. A native of Sumner County Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Sewell Scott and Hester Ausbrooks Scott. She was a federal government retiree serving with the ASCS office and worked for Nationwide Studios. She was preceded in death by a sister - Brenda McCoin. Survivors include 2 daughters - Lisa McKnight of Portland and Vickie McKinnis of Franklin; a son in law - James McKnight of Portland; 2 sisters - Theada Gammons of White House, TN and Romana Stewart of Portland; 2 brothers - Clifford and Prentice Scott both of Portland; 2 grandchildren - Lauren Cromer and Trey McKnight. Visitation will begin at 1:30pm Wednesday and after 6am Thursday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Betty Jean Hamm Roberts, age 65 of Franklin died Monday evening at the Medical Center of Franklin. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Thursday December 9th 2010 at 1 P. M. Burial will follow at Stateline cemetery. A native of Simpson County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Douglas and Lucille Hunton Hamm. She was a factory worker and a homemaker as well as a member of New Vision Ministry General Baptist Church in Westmoreland, TN. She was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Hamm. She was the wife of Charles Roberts which survives of Franklin. Other survivors include four sons; Kevin Roberts (Tabitha) of Franklin, Brandon Roberts of Franklin, Heath Roberts of Franklin, and Clayton Roberts of Russellville, one sister Judy Pitt of Franklin, one brother Glenn Hamm of Portland and six grandchildren. The family has requested that friends call Crafton Funeral Home Wednesday from 3 P.M until 8 P.M. and after 6 A.M. Thursday.

Mr. Michael E. Atkinson, age 51 of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, December 01, 2010 in Franklin. Arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where a memorial service will be held Friday at 2pm with Mr. Don Kessler speaking. A native of Simpson County, he was the son of Charles Atkinson who survives in Elizabethtown and Inez Goostree Atkinson who survives in Elizabethtown. He was a custodian at the Pilot Truck Plaza in Franklin. He was preceded in death by a brother - Charles Atkinson. Survivors include a son - Michael Tyler Atkinson of Portland; 2 daughters - Sarah Atkinson of Portland and Heather Marlene Mullen of Franklin; 4 sisters - Kathy Henderson, Maria Atkinson both of Elizabethtown, Debbie Berning and Tina Atkinson of Florida; 2 brothers - Andrew Atkinson of Elizabethtown and Robert Atkinson of Florida; grandchildren - Phillip Reed Atkinson, Trevor Lillard, Kimberly Spivey, Kelsea Nolan, Austin Mullen and Jade Mullen. Visitation will be Friday from 12noon until service time at Crafton Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Kristen Lee Kilmon, infant daughter of Kevin Kilmon and Christy Hudson of Bowling Green, died November 24th, 2010 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN. A graveside service will be held Monday at 1pm in Greenlawn cemetery with Bro. Buddy Crabtree officiating. She was preceded in death by a sister - Madison Sue Rathel, grandfathers - Joe Hudson and Mike Laney. She is survived by a twin brother - Kyle James Kilmon of Bowling Green, a brother Devin Kilmon of Portland, Tn; 2 sisters - Kayla Hettler and Calli Hudson of Bowling Green; paternal grandparents - Mason and Pam Spurlock of Franklin; maternal grandmother - Rebecca Hudnell of Bowling Green and step grandmother - Glinda Hudson of Bowling Green; paternal great grandmother - Christine Jarman of Franklin; paternal grandfather - James Kilmon.

Mr. Earl W. Hawkins, age 41 of Franklin, KY, died Thursday, November 25th, 2010, at his residence. Crafton Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:30pm at the chapel of Grove Hill cemetery in Shelbyville, KY. A native of Louisville, KY, he was the son of the late Henry Ray Hawkins and Brenda S. McCoy Hawkins. He was an employee of Walmart in Franklin, KY. He is survived by 2 brothers - Jeff Hawkins of Bowling Green and Kevin Floyd Hawkins of Franklin; 2 nieces - Cristina and Selena Hawkins both of Franklin. Visitation will be from 3 to 8pm Sunday at Crafton Funeral Home and again on Tuesday from 11:30am until 2:30pm at Shannon Funeral Home in Shelbyville, KY.

Mrs. Lucille Jones McReynolds Hale, age 86 of Franklin, died Friday, November 26, 2010, at the Medical Center in Franklin. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Sunday at 2pm with burial to follow in Martin-s Chapel cemetery. A native of Macon County Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Edward Jones and Ella Holland Jones. She was a homemaker and sang with the McReynolds Family. She was a member of the Eastern Star for 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husbands - Charles McReynolds and Fred Hale. Survivors include 1 son - Charles 'Chuck' McReynolds of Franklin; 1 daughter - Charlotte McReynolds of Tampa, Florida; 1 granddaughter - Amanda Bates of Franklin and 1 great grandchild - Gabriella McReynolds of Franklin; several nieces, nephew and friends. Visitation will be from 6 to 9pm Saturday and after 6am Sunday at Crafton Funeral Home. An Eastern Star service will be held Saturday at 7pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Patsy Lou Cooper Gass, age 63 of Franklin, died Wednesday, November 24th, 2010, at The Hospice Center in Bowling Green. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Saturday at 2pm with Bro. Mike Graves and Bro. Roger Putman officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn cemetery. A native of Warren County, she was the daughter of the late Cornelius 'Pete' Cooper and Venia Etta Martin Moore Cooper. Survivors include her husband - Robert Gass, Sr. of Franklin; children - Michael Dewayne Gass, Timmy Gass, Robert Gass, Jr., Randy Gass, Bobby Gass all of Franklin, Lucky Gass of Merriville, Indiana, Edythe Kirby of Bowling Green; 4 brothers - Ronnie Moore of Franklin, Terry Moore of Adairville, Robert Moore of Ashland City, Tennessee and Richard Cooper of Bowling Green; 1 sister - Barbara Moore of Franklin; 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Visitation will begin at 12noon until 9pm Friday and after 6am Saturday at Crafton Funeral Home.

A former Franklin resident, Mr. Robert 'Bob' M. Groves, age 91 of Elizabethtown, KY, died Thursday, November 18th, 2010, at the VA Medical Center in Louisville, KY. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Sunday at 2pm with Rev. Jerry Gifford officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn cemetery. A native of Sumner Co. Tennessee, he was the son of the late Ben Groves and Bennie Powell Groves. He was a member of Lake Spring Baptist Church and a retired farmer and truck driver. Mr. Groves was a WWII Navy veteran. He served in the 84th battalion of the Seabees Construction Unit in the South Pacific. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Kathleen Evens Groves, 1 brother, Haywood 'Boy' Groves, two sisters, Fairy 'Tootie' Nolan and Margie Bruner and an infant granddaughter, Allison Goodman. He is survived by a daughter - Cindy (Bennie) Goodman of Elizabethtown; 2 sons- Dr. Steve (Patricia) Groves of Crestwood, KY and Bobby (Carolyn) Groves of Franklin; two half sisters - Sandra Patterson of Franklin and Linda Contreras of the Dominican Republic; 6 grandchildren - Brian and Trevor Goodman, Jon-Paul and Brice Groves, Stephanie Hasenmyer and Samantha Traughber; 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2 to 8pm Saturday and from 12noon until 2pm Sunday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Millie Elizabeth Britt Finn, age 93 of Franklin, died Tuesday evening, November 16th, 2010, at her residence. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Friday at 1pm with burial to follow in Greenlawn cemetery. A native of Allen County, she was the daughter of the late Henry Britt and Clara Rippy Britt. She was retired from Genesco Mfg. and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband - Mevel Earl Finn. Survivors include 2 daughters - Jean Forshee of Franklin and Donna Collins of Franklin; 1 brother - Fred Britt and 1 sister - Iva Nell Menely; 5 grandchildren - Sheila Logan of Franklin, Chris Forshee of Illinois, Ellen Gossett, Josh Forshee and Denita Brady all of Franklin; 9 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 11am until 9pm Thursday and after 6am Friday at Crafton Funeral Home.

A former Franklin resident, Mrs. Anna Jewell Travelstead Redman, age 88 of Williamsburg, KY, died Saturday, Nov. 13th, 2010, at the Williamsburg Nursing Home. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:30am at the Franklin First Baptist Church with Rev. J.V. Case and Rev. Jerry Gifford officiating. Burial will follow in Sulphur Spring cemetery. A native of Allen County, she was the daughter of the late Landy Travelstead and Dallie Chaney Travelstead. She was an accountant/secretary at the Franklin Simpson High School and was a member of Franklin First Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 70 years - James Warren Redman of Williamsburg; 1 son - David Redman and wife Shelby of High Ridge, MO; 1 daughter - Diane Jamison of Williamsburg, KY; 4 grandchildren - David Redman and wife Judy of High Ridge, MO, Dan Redman and wife Sandi Wirt of Naples, FL, Kelley Grimes and husband Donnie of Williamsburg, KY, Mike Jamison and wife Melynda of Danville, KY; 5 great grandchildren - Shea Redman and wife Heather of Valley Park, MO, Courtney Redman of Kirksville, MO, Kali Redman of Naples, FL, Malorie Redman of High Ridge, MO, and Hailey Grimes of Williamsburg, KY; 1 great great grandchild - Skyler Redman of Valley Park, MO. Visitation will be Tuesday at the Franklin First Baptist Church beginning at 10am.

Mr. Bobby J. 'Tip' Williams, age 74 of Franklin, died Friday evening, Nov. 12th, 2010, at his residence. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Tuesday at 11am with Pastor Ron Spurgeon officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn cemetery. A native of Simpson County, he was the son of the late Robert Samuel Williams and Effie Jane Adamson Williams. He had served as Magistrate for the east district for 12 years and was owner and operator of Williams Trucking for 30 years. He also served on the Franklin Simpson Ambulance Board, Hospital Board and planning and zoning. He was a 1956 Franklin Simpson High School graduate. Mr. Williams was a Mason & Shriner. He was preceded in death by a sister - Dorothy Jane Williams. Survivors include a daughter - April Graham and husband Timmy of Franklin; 1 son - Mark Williams of Franklin; 3 grandsons - Timothy, Dakota and Tristan Graham. Visitation will begin at 3pm Sunday and after 6am Monday and Tuesday at Crafton Funeral Home.
