Mrs. Sharon Lynn Woodard, age 52 of Franklin, died Thursday, November 4th, 2010, at the Hospice Center in Bowling Green. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Sunday at 2pm with burial to follow in Mt. Vernon cemetery. A native of Bucyrus, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late James Curtis Sloan and Earline Spears Baskerville. Ms. Woodard was a Certified Nurse's Aide. Survivors include 2 sons - Lucas and Matt Yates both of Franklin; 7 brothers - Ken, Jason & Mitchell Sloan all of Franklin, Dinkie Woodard and Clint Baskerville both of Portland, Rick Woodard of Franklin and Jeff Woodard of Ohio; 1 sister - Amanda Sloan of Franklin; 5 grandchildren - Matthew Yates, Jr., Victoria Crook, James Curtis Yates, Brenton Yates and Russell Yates. Visitation will begin at 3pm Saturday and after 6am Sunday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Edna E. Barnett was born August 5, 1927 in Franklin, KY and passed away on October 24, 2010 with her children at her side. She was the daughter of Mr. Will (Daddy) Matt and Lassie (Mommy) Hunt Downey. Funeral services are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1pm at the Pleasant View Church with burial to follow in Pleasant View cemetery. Mrs. Barnett was a native of Simpson County and was married to Robert Dee Barnett who preceded her in death in 1970. She was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church, where she joined at an early age. She worked for Kendall (Berry Plastics) for 23 years, loved working in the yard with her flowers, fishing and traveling to visit her daughters. She loved shopping, collecting knick-knacks, knitting and canning fruits and vegetables to share with family and friends. When the daughters came home, we would rush home to get some of mama-s fabulous fried chicken and join our brothers for a meal fit for kings and queens. She was a great baker, and made mouth watering Jam and German chocolate cakes. She loved bright colors, especially red. She is survived by her eight children - 5 daughters - Mrs. Mary Claypool (Jim)of Seaside, CA, Mrs. Ann Detherage of Marina, CA, Mrs. Darlene Fields (Lee) of Abilene, TX, Mrs. Lucille Whitaker of Clarksville, TN, Mrs. Virginia Stubbs (Larry) of Los Angeles, CA and Brenda Barnett who preceded her in death as an infant; 3 sons - Mr. J.T. Barnett (Marcina) of Bowling Green, Mr. Willie D. Barnett (Beletha) of Franklin, Mr. Robert Lee Barnett of Franklin; 1 brother - Mr. Robert L. Downey and 1 sister - Mrs. Irene Lockhart both of Franklin; 2 sister in law s- Mrs. Ada Downey and Mrs. Rosie Goins; 10 grandchildren - Janine Bouyea, Selena Detherage, Brent Barnett, Brandi Claypool, Brandon Barnett, Terri Peters, Danielle Cornell, Lee Fields, Jr., Jonathan Fields and Trevor Barnett; 3 step grandchildren - Kim Bush, Jennifer Bush and Adrian Bush; 10 great grandchildren and 10 step great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Mrs. Lila Gregory Travelstead, age 78 of Franklin, died Sunday, October 17th, 2010, at the Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital in Bowling Green. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Wednesday at 1pm with Bro. Hobert Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn cemetery. A native of Sumner Co. TN, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Pearl Cummins Gregory. She retired after 32 years from the Kendall Company. She was member of Eastern Star, Woodmen of the World, Salmon's General Baptist Church and a past member of the Franklin Homemakers. She was preceded in death by her sister - Etta Pearl Butt and 3 brothers - Elmore, Burton and John Wesley Gregory and a grandson - Alan Travelstead. Survivors include 1 son - Jerry Travelstead and wife Nancy of Woodburn; 2 daughters - Patricia Cauley and husband Kenny of Franklin and Linda Travelstead of Bowling Green; adopted daughter - Debbie Lanham of Bowling Green; 1 granddaughter - Tonya Travelstead Colley of Woodburn. Visitation will begin at 2pm Tuesday and after 6am Wednesday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mr. Harold O'Neal Green, age 70 of Franklin, died Saturday, October 9th, 2010, at his residence. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Monday at 2pm with Pastor David Tooley and Pastor Randall Hendricks officiating. Burial will follow in Woodburn cemetery. A native of Louisville, KY, he was the son of the late Hal Neal Green and Ruby Louise Kirby Green. He was retired from Huish Detergents and was a member of Hillview Height Church in Bowling Green. He was preceded in death by a brother - Curtis Green. He is survived by his wife - Beverly Jane Vincent Green of Franklin; 9 children - Tina Kaye Benson and husband Gordon of Webster, Mass., Steve Green and wife Kay of Greenwood, Ind., Lynn Manning and husband Bobby of Bowling Green, Ricky Green and wife Norma of Bowling Green, Nicholas Green and wife Jennie of Bowling Green, Michael Green and wife Suzanne of Bowling Green, Heather Hooper and husband Rusty of Franklin, Julie Chaffin of Franklin, Jason Chaffin of Thompson Station, TN.; 24 grandchildren - Bobby, Nick and Cheryl Lapier, Gregory and Cory Green, Mike and Jessica Perkins, Harold and Ricky Green, Abby, Khrisian and Seth Green, Austin, Amber, Dakota, Caleb, Cayden Green, Noah, Gage, Brandon and Russell Green, Chelsea, Brett and Alexa Green; 9 great grandchildren; 1 brother - Elvis Green of Bowling Green; 2 sisters - Janice Hendricks of Bowling Green and Joyce Devore of Plano. Visitation will begin at 10am Sunday and after 6am Monday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Anna Lucille Litchfield-McKinney, age 77 of Cadiz, Kentucky, died Tuesday, October 5th, 2010, at the SKY Rehab Facility in Bowling Green. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Friday at 11am with Bro. Frank Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn cemetery. A native of Muhlenberg County Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Roy E. Carter and Jessie May Shomak Carter. During her life she had served as the Dog Warden and a Special Deputy Sheriff in Warren County. She and her husband Jim had lived for several years in Madisonville, KY. She was preceded in death by 14 brothers and sisters including Harold Dean Carter, Gracie Fisk, Mary Ford, Phoebe Scott and Roy Edward Carter, Jr. She is survived by her husband - Jim Litchfield of Cadiz, KY; 3 children - Mike McKinney and wife Frances of Woodburn, Quincey 'Buddy' McKinney and wife Elizabeth of Columbia, Missouri and Joseph McKinney and wife Kelley of Cadiz, Kentucky; 1 brother - Donald Ray Carter of Franklin; 2 grandchildren - Matthew and Stephanie McKinney; 5 step grandchildren - Eric Ruzicka, Candice Miller, Melanie Hutchinson, Joseph Miller, III and Kristal Cramer; 6 step great grandchildren - Charlie Hutchinson, Gracie VanMeter, Joshua VanMeter, Richard Beshear, Dylan Beshear and Katie Roberts. Visitation will begin at 3pm Thursday and after 6am Friday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Ms. Emma Armstrong Smith, age 65 of Franklin, died Tuesday, March 29th, 2011, at her residence. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Saturday at 3pm with burial to follow in Armstrong cemetery in Robertson County Tennessee. A native of Sumner County Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late James Luther Armstrong and Nellie Sumerville Armstrong. She attended Trinity Baptist Church. She is survived by 2 daughters - Susan Bishop of Summerville, South Carolina, Lori Birchfield of Cookeville, Tennessee; 3 sons - Jason Shufelt of Summerville, South Carolina, Justin Shufelt of Lexington, Kentucky and James Spivey of Scottsville, Kentucky; 7 grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 1pm Saturday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mr. James Bass, age 80 of Franklin, died Tuesday, March 29th, 2011, at the Medco Center in Franklin. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1pm at Alpha Baptist Church in Franklin. Burial will follow in the Veterans Section of Greenlawn cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Simpson County Honor Guard. A native of Warren County, he was the son of the late Joe P. Bass and Julia Bryant Bass. He worked at the Kendall Company and retired from the City of Franklin/Greenlawn cemetery. Mr. Bass was a Marine Veteran. He was preceded in death by wife - Christine Goodnight Bass, 3 children - Karen Payne, Pamela Bass and Henry Bass, 1 sister - Ethel Sloss. He is survived by 3 sons - James Bass of Nashville, Jeff and Charles Bass of Franklin; 6 daughters - Harriets Woods of Nashville, Bettye Bryant, Veronica McKay, Carolyn Bass, Cristal Bass and Julia Bass all of Franklin; 2 brothers - Jeff Downey of Louisville and Charles Whiteside of Detroit, Michigan; host of grandchildren and great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin at 10am Saturday at Crafton Funeral Home. The body will lie in state at the church beginning at 12noon.

Randall David Miller, infant son of Marlin & Anna Miller of Franklin, died Monday evening, March 28th, 2011 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 30th, at 2pm at the Franklin Mennonite Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. In addition to his parents, he is survived by 2 brothers - Brian Dale Miller and Austin Daniel Miller of Franklin; paternal grandparents- Joe & Ellen Miller and maternal grandparents - Eli D. and Melinda Miller; 8 uncles, 8 aunts, 21 cousins. Visitation will be from 5:30pm until 8pm today (Tuesday) at the Franklin Mennonite Church.

Mrs. Corinne LeBlanc Roufs, age 89 of Franklin, died Tuesday evening, March 22nd, 2011, at the Medical Center in Franklin. Cremation was chosen. A memorial service will take place at a later time in Long Prairie, Minnesota. Burial will follow in the Minnesota State Veterans cemetery in Little Falls, MN. A native of Murray, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the late William LeBlanc and Mae Belle LeBlanc. She was a telephone operator, dairy farmer and a member of Round Pond Homemakers as well as St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was a member of the Minnesota Citizens of Concern for Life. She had resided in Franklin for the past year. She loved her family, Minnesota Vikings, playing cards and lived for her friends and family. Survivors include her daughter - Barbara Wilson and husband Marsh of Franklin; 2 sons - Kenneth J. Roufs and wife Trudy of Paynesville, MN and William L. Roufs and wife Deb of Fergas Falls, MN; grandchildren - Ryan Colosimo and wife Dynee' of Arlington, TN, Gina Dalrymple and husband Chris of Franklin, Cari Taylor and husband Chris of Morehead, MN, Kayla Roufs of Brooklyn, NY, Kaden Roufs, Christian Roufs, Nolin Roufs, Matthew Roufs and Megan Roufs all of Paynesville, MN; 2 great grandchildren - Micah Taylor and Parker Dalrymple.

Mr. Brian Wilson McCreary, age 25 of Franklin, died Tuesday, March 22nd, 2011, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Friday at 2pm with Rev. Buddy Crabtree officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn cemetery. A native of Simpson County, he was the son of Dale McCreary who survives in Franklin and Jane Mooneyhan McCreary who also survives in Franklin. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Graduate of Franklin Simpson High School - Class of 2004 and a 2010 graduate of Western Kentucky University. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother - Brandon McCreary of Franklin; maternal grandfather - James Mooneyhan of Franklin; paternal grandparents - Doug and Mary Wims of Franklin and Larry McCreary of Franklin; maternal great grandmother - Mary Evelyn Mooneyhan of Franklin; step mother - Lisa G. McCreary of Franklin. The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Calvary Baptist Church in Franklin, KY. Visitation will begin at 11am Thursday and after 6am Friday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mr. Patrick Lee Odom, age 16 of Franklin, died Tuesday morning, March 22nd, 2011, at his residence. Funeral services are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where a memorial service will be held Saturday at 2pm. A native of Simpson County, he was the son of the late Roy Odom and the late Robbie Pirtle. He was a junior at Franklin Simpson High School. Survivors include 3 brothers - Carl Pirtle, Brian Odom and Joseph Odom all of Franklin; 1 sister - Bonnie Turner of Louisville; grandparents - Herbert Odom of Woodburn and Anna Bell Pirtle of Franklin. Visitation will begin Saturday at 10am at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mr. Eldon B. Alderson, age 88 of Franklin, died Friday morning, March 18th, 2011, at his residence. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Monday at 1pm with Bro. Lonnie Meador and Bro. Randy Andrews officiating. Burial will follow in the Buck Allen Crossroads cemetery in Allen County. A native of Simpson County, he was the son of the late Reeder Alderson and Zettie Mae Henson Alderson. He was a farmer and a World War II Army Veteran. Mr. Alderson was a member of the State Line Church. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers - Bobby Alderson and Edward Lee Alderson as well as his step mother - Agnes Alderson. Survivors include his wife - Virginia Austin Reeder Alderson of Franklin; 2 daughters - Yvonne Hood and husband Paul of Allen County and Patricia Meador and husband Lonnie of Adolphus; 1 son - Rick Alderson and wife Peggy of Shelbyville, KY; 1 brother - Jerry Alderson and wife Pat of Franklin; 2 sisters - Jean Barber and husband Lloyd of Allen County and Linda Alderson of Louisiana; grandchildren - Chad Adams, Melissa and Cary Calvert, Kevin and Nikki Hood, Derek and Jonie Meador, Brandy Jo and John Paul Cates, Brian Meador, Cory and Megan Meador; great grandchildren - Lindsey and Madie Calvert, Kristen Adams, Catie Hood, Cassie, Isaac, Macy and Jake Meador, Blake Henson, Hunter Meador; 3 step great grandchildren - Josh, Jake and Olivia Cates; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin at 4pm Saturday and after 6am Sunday and Monday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Ms. Janet Leigh Wilson, age 46 of Franklin, died Saturday, March 5th, 2011, at her residence. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Friday at 2pm with burial to follow in the Hillsdale cemetery. Bro. Bobby Joe Forshee will officiate. A native of Allen County Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Arnold J. Wilson and Martha Evelyn Gettings Lillard who survives in Franklin. She was a housewife. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her companion David Escue of Franklin; 2 sons - Bryan and Josh Escue both of Franklin; 1 daughter - Kelsey Escue of Franklin; 2 brothers - Scott Wilson of Franklin and Jeff Wilson of Gallatin, TN; 2 sister - Debbie Johnson of Franklin and Sandy Teets of Cross Plains, TN; 1 grandson - Damien Law of Franklin and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin at 10am Friday at Crafton Funeral Home. A memorial fund will be established at Regions Bank at a later date for the children of Ms. Wilson.
