Mr. Frank T. Smith, age 75 of Franklin, died Saturday, March 5th, 2011, at the Rosewood Health Care in Bowling Green. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1pm at the Alpha Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Shady Rest cemetery. A native of Simpson County, he was the son of the late John Eugene Smith and Stella Bracken Smith. As a child growing up in Simpson County, he attended Lincoln School and worked at Franklin Flower Shop, then Fruit of the Loom in Bowling Green until he retired. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers - Marion Smith and Ken Smith; 2 sisters - Katie B. Smith Nolan and Bessie Lou Smith. He is survived by 3 children - Bonena Sandra Kouyate and husband Seydou of Merriville, Indiana, Frankie Smith, Jr and wife Nina of Bowling Green and Tiffaney Lewis Smith and husband Problem of Bowling Green. He also leaves 1 brother - William Smith of Bowling Green; 2 sisters - Ever Mae Ray (Smith) and Jackie Smith of Franklin; 7 Grandchildren - Deangio Patterson, Devontre Patterson, Saliyah Smith, Tyree Smith, Darius Britt and Danesha Britt; 7 great grandchildren. Also left to cherish his memory are Daughters at Heart - Felicia Lewis Lively, Yolanda Britt Marks, Conchata Britt and Keriah Cofer Britt; special nephew - Ernest Marshall Ray; special friends - Charlotte Britt and Diane Lewis and a host of nieces and nephews. The wake will be Thursday from 4pm to 7pm at the Alpha Missionary Baptist Church.

Mr. Vernon Lee 'Tucker' May, age 78 of Franklin, died Wednesday morning, March 2nd, 2011 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Friday at 2pm with Bro. David Youngblood officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn cemetery with military rites being conducted by the Simpson County Honor Guard. A native of Simpson County, he was the son of the late Will May and Kenlis Summer May. Mr. May was owner of May Plumbing and Sewer Company for over 40 years. He was a member of Macedonia General Baptist Church and was a Korean War Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife - Peggy Gregory May and 2 daughters - Betty Joan May and Melissa Jane May. Survivors include his wife - Gener Johnson May of Franklin; 4 children - Teresa May Kirby, Jerry Lee May, Wendy Gale Gant, and Timothy Dale May all of Franklin; 2 sisters - Goldie Mae Freeman and Annie Ruth Bayles both of Franklin; 1 brother - Robert May of Franklin; Grandchildren - David Michael Meguiar, Jr., Jeremy Lee May, Jason Tyler May, Donnie Joe Gant, Jr., Kimberlee Gant Sliger, Laitlin Jo Burgett, and Jessica Leann May; great grandchildren - Landon David Meguiar, Alexander Lee May, and Aidan James May. Visitation will begin at 4pm Thursday and after 6am Friday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Long Norris, age 89 of Franklin, died Friday, February 25th, 2011, at the Medco Center in Franklin. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Monday at 11am with Bro. David Youngblood officiating. Burial will follow in Robertson County Memorial Gardens in Springfield, TN. A native of Robertson County, she was the daughter of the late John Long and Leona Crabtree Long. She was a member of Macedonia General Baptist Church. Mrs. Norris was preceded in death by her husband - George Norris, 2 sisters - Sylvia Dorris and Maggie Eidson and 2 brothers - J.W. Long and Robert Long. Survivors include 6 daughters - Sue Witt of White House, Tn., Diana Mullins of Anderson, Ind., Connie Tate of Hendersonville, TN., Leona Srygler of Franklin, Margie Fulkerson of Goodlettsville, TN and Faye Reagan of Indianapolis, Ind.; 1 sister - Shirley Rigsby of Franklin; 20 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Visitation will begin at 11am Sunday and after 6am Monday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mr. Earl 'Bub' Wallace, age 85 of Franklin, died Sunday morning, February 20th, 2011, at the Medco Center in Franklin. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Wednesday, at 1pm with Bro. Larry Elliott officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Rest cemetery. A native of Simpson County, he was the son of the late John Wallace and Minnie Holder Wallace. He was a long time employee of the Wade Farms and a special friend to the Wade Family. Mr. Wallace accepted Christ at an early age at Middleton Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers - Johnny and Mitchell Wallace and 2 sisters - Virginia Williams and Florina Edison. Survivors include 1 sister - Martha Savage and husband Joe of Franklin; 1 sister in law - Elizabeth Wallace of Hendersonville, Tn.; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6 to 8pm Tuesday and after 6am Wednesday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Wyley Jewels Watkins, age 13 months of Franklin, died Saturday, February 12th, at her residence. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Wednesday at 1pm with burial to follow in the Zion Lutheran cemetery in Franklin. A native of Robertson County Tennessee, she was the daughter of Ricky Daniel Watkins of Franklin and Lacey Michelle Biggs of Cross Plains, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by great grandparents - Martha Virginia and Robert Leslie Biggs, Arnold Jay Wilson, Ed Lack, Louise Thornton Graves and Bennie & Jewell Watkins; In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brother - Wyatt Eugene Johnson of Cross Plains; her sister - Wytley Cheyanne Watkins of Franklin; grandparents - Ricky & Tammy Watkins of Franklin, David Biggs of Orlinda and Sandy & Paul Teets of Cross Plains; great grandparents - Evelyn & David Lillard of Franklin and Anna & Douglas Nealy of Franklin and Jerry & Lee Watkins of Franklin; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will begin after 11:30am Tuesday and after 6am Wednesday at Crafton Funeral Home. Memorial gifts may be made to the family.

Mr. Ray Dean McMillin, age 71 of Franklin, died Tuesday, February 8th, 2011, at the Medco Center in Franklin. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Saturday at 2pm with burial to follow in the Orlinda cemetery in Orlinda, TN. A native of Robertson County Tennessee, he was the son of the late Charlie McMillin and Gladys Gregory McMillin. Survivors include his wife - Nina Mansfield McMillin of Franklin; children - Donald McMillin of Shelbyville, KY, Craig & Jordan McMillin of Franklin and Jamie Lee of Portland, TN; 1 step daughter - Kim Mansfield of Franklin; 2 brothers - Charles & Cecil McMillin of Franklin; 2 sisters - Hazel Stewart and Paulette Graves both of Rogers, Arkansas; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 9am Saturday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Barbara Lorrison Towe, age 87 of Franklin, died Thursday, February 3rd, 2011, at the Medical Center in Franklin. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Saturday at 1pm with Mr. Steve Newman officiating. Burial will follow in Harmony Missionary Baptist Church cemetery in Allen County. A native of Muhlenberg County, she was the daughter of the late Sandy Lorrison and Lela Gossett Lorrison. Mrs. Towe had been an employee of the Lenk Company as well as Medco, Houchens and Food Lion. She was a 52 year resident of the Gold City Community in Simpson County. She was preceded in death by her husband - Russell Towe and a grandson - Michael Stubblefield. Survivors include 3 children - Russell Wayne Towe of Corydon, Indiana, Theresa Carroll of Sweeden, KY and Jimmy Towe of Cabot, Arkansas; 1 sister - Yvonne Heidbrider of Union Point, Georgia; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 5pm Friday and after 6am Saturday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Joy Ann Spivey Brown, age 45 of Franklin, died Tuesday, February 1st, 2011, at her residence. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Wednesday at 1pm with cremation to follow. A native of Simpson County, she was the daughter of the late Comer Spivey, Jr. and Joyce Williams Spivey. She had been an employee of Avery's Market and a homemaker. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her brother - Tony Spivey. Survivors include 2 daughters - Jessica Brown Weiser and Bobbie Jo Brown both of Franklin; 3 sisters - Donna Spivey Brown, Penny Spivey Martin and Deana Spivey Blackburn all of Franklin. She was the Nana of Mikayla Gilmore, Jamaraius Franklin, Javon Franklin, Lillian McClain and Maddie Shaw. She was also survived by a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be from 9am to 3pm Wednesday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mr. Eddie Wayne Hudson, age 63 of Franklin, died Wednesday, May 4th, 2011, at his residence. Cremation was chosen. Crafton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. There will be no funeral service. A native of Robertson County Tennessee, he was the son of the late Ed Hudson and Wince Lane Hudson. He was a mechanic. Survivors include 2 sons - Jimmy Hudson of Franklin and Brandon Hudson of Houston, Texas; 1 daughter - Marci Hudson of Houston, Texas; 1 brother - Harold Hudson of Portland, TN; 2 sisters - Beverly Reid and Lori Phillips both of Orlinda, TN; companion - Rhonda Mosley of Franklin; 3 grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 9pm at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Helen M. Groves Carver, age 86 of Franklin, died Thursday, April 28th, at the Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Saturday at 2pm with Rev. John Gifford and Luke Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. A native of Robertson County Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late J.E. Groves and Laura Belle Winchester Groves. She was a member of Lake Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Carver was preceded in death by her husband - Herbert Carver and a great grandchild - Hayden Gregory. Survivors include 1 son - Jeff Carver of Franklin; 1 daughter - Susan Prock and husband Tim of Franklin; 2 brothers - James Groves and Gene Groves both of Franklin; 2 sisters in law - Mary and Betty Groves of Franklin; 6 grandchildren - Stacey Caldwell and husband Allen, Meagen White and husband Matt, Andrew Prock and Lizzie Carver; 5 great grandchildren - Caleb, Owen and Ava Caldwell, Mattie Bell and Grant White. She loved and was loved by several nieces and nephews and a large extended family. Visitation will be from 4 to 9pm Friday and after 6am Saturday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mr. Donald W. 'Don' Hammond, age 75 of Franklin, died Saturday, April 23rd, 2011, at his residence. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Tuesday at 2pm with burial to follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Rev. Winston Roberts will officiate. A native of Robertson County Tennessee, he was the son of the late David L. Hammond and Attie Ruth Rogers Hammond. He was a retired employee of the Lenk Company. He was preceded in death by his wife - Sammie Hammond. Survivors include 2 sons - Jeffery Mark Hammond and Timmy Wayne Hammond both of Franklin; 1 step son - Ronnie Woodard of Portland, TN; 1 sister - Geraldine Simmons of Franklin; 2 brothers - Steve and Jerry Hammond both of Franklin; 2 grandsons and 2 step grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 10am Tuesday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mr. L.B. Chandler, age 74 of Franklin, died Tuesday, April 19th, at the Medical Center in Franklin. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Thursday at 2pm with burial to follow in Hillsdale cemetery. Rev. Tim Harris will officiate. A native of Trousdale County Tennessee, he was the son of the late Luther Burton Chandler, Sr. and Meredith Johns Chandler. He was preceded in death by a daughter - Wanda Cagle and a sister - Beulah Giordano. Survivors include his wife - Judy Finn Chandler of Franklin; 6 children - Roger Chandler of Franklin, Rita Vaughn of Franklin, Todd Chandler of Bowling Green, Jana Hightower of Bowling Green, Jared Chandler of Franklin and Jolie Chandler Lewis of Franklin; 1 sister - Daisy Ruley of Franklin; 2 brothers - Lloyd Chandler of Franklin and Larry Chandler of Nortonville, KY; 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 3pm Wednesday and after 6am Thursday at Crafton Funeral Home. Memorial gifts may be made to the Woodburn Baptist Church Building Fund and/or the City of Franklin Relay for Life Team.

A former Franklin resident, Ms. Wilma Lois Wade Vaughn, age 78 of Gallatin, TN, died Monday, April 18th, 2011, at the Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin. A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11am in Greenlawn cemetery with Pastor Steve Pierce officiating. A native of Simpson County, she was the daugthter of the late Lois Harold Wade and Mary Elizabeth Wade Lamb. Survivors include 1 daughter - Donna Vaughn of Franklin; 1 son - -Ricky Vaughn of Franklin; 1 brother - MIke Lamb of Atlanta; 2 grandsons - Ricky Vaughn of Gallatin and Chad Vaughn of Franklin; several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. The family has requested that memorial gifts be made to the American Cancer Society

Mrs. Anny Lucille Powell Mathews, age 83 of Franklin, died Sunday morning, April 17th, 2011, at her residence. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Wednesday at 11am with burial to follow in the Mt. Gilead cemetery in Allen County. Bro. Bobby Hale and Bro. Matt Brown will officiate. A native of Allen County, she was the daughter of the late William J. Powell and Willie Orlean Belcher Powell. She was retired from the Genesco Shirt Factory. Mrs. Powell was of the Missionary Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband - Earl C. Mathews and a grandson - Jeffrey Brown. She is survived by 3 daughters - Mildred Gunter DeKnoblough of Clarksville, TN, Janice Brown of Scottsville and Donna Mathews Palma of Franklin; 1 son - William 'Bill' Mathews of Franklin; 1 sister - Claudine Dinkens of Franklin; 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Visitation will begin at 12 noon Monday and after 6am Tuesday and Wednesday at Crafton Funeral Home.
