Mrs. Nancy Jean Hickman Cook, age 73 of Franklin, died Monday, September 10th, 2012 at peace with her family following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 21 1939, in Springfield, TN, to the late Conrad Hickman and Velma Inez Hooper Hickman. She graduated from Franklin Simpson High School in 1957. ON November 27, 1957, she was united in marriage to Wayne Cook in her family home in Franklin, KY. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church of Franklin and a former member of Parkway Baptist Church in Goodlettsville, TN. Nancye is survived by her husband, Wayne; her son and his wife, Brad and Pam, all of Franklin, and her daughtger and her husband, Kellee and Carroll Fletcher, of Batesville, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Brandon Cook and Juston Cook, both of Franklin; Jessica Spohr of Batesville, AR and Brad Fletcher of Fayetteville, AR; two great granddaughters, Makenna Cook of Franklin, KY and Ryleigh Cook of Orlinda, TN. She is further survived by brothers, Ronald Pitt of Monument, CO, and Leo Pitt of Franklin, KY. In addition to her parents and step father, Earnest Pitt, she was preceded in death by her son, Tim Cook and sister, Norma Gregory. Funeral services will be held for Nancye J. Cook on Friday at 10am at Crafton Funeral Home with burial to follow in Sulphur Spring cemetery. Visitation will be from 4pm to 8pm Thursday and after 6am Friday at Crafton Funeral Home. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society c/o Pat Andrews, 280 Andrews Rd., Franklin, KY 42134

Mr. Billey Joe Gorham, age 59 of Bowling Green, died Sunday, September 2nd, 2012 in Greenville, South Carolina. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Tuesday at 1pm with burial to follow in Hillsdale cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Simpson County Honor Guard. A native of Indianapolis, he was the son of the late Henry Carliss Gorham and Velva Neal Dyer Gorham Tabor of Bowling Green. He was an Army veteran and served in Vietnam. In addition to his mother, he is survived by 5 children - Chris Galloway, Candie Galloway, Billey Joe Gorham, Jr. and Steven Lee Gorham all of South Carolina and Michael Neal Gorham of Georgia; 1 sister - Shirley Walker of Franklin; 2 brothers - Timmy Gorham of Bowling Green and Tony Gorham of Woodburn; 11 grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2pm to 9pm Monday and after 6am Tuesday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Evelyn Draper Dinwiddie, age 72 of Franklin, died Saturday, September 1st, 2012 at her residence. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Tuesday at 2pm with burial to follow in Greenlawn cemetery. A native of Davidson County Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Ty Cobb Draper and Eugenia Green Draper. Survivors include her husband - Carroll Dinwiddie of Franklin; 1 daughter - Kelly Dinwiddie of Beaver, Pennsylvania; 1 son - Scott Dinwiddie of Mooresville, Indiana; 1 grandchild - Jordyn Dinwiddie of Mooresville, Indiana; 1 brother - Ronald Draper of Goodlettsville, TN and 2 nephews. Visitation will begin at 11am Tuesday at Crafton Funeral Home. Memorial gifts may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, POB 1000 Dept 142, Memphis, Tennessee 38148-0142.

Mrs. Opal Meador Martin, age 91 of Franklin, died Saturday, September 1st, 2012 at her residence. A private graveside service will be held Tuesday at 2pm at Stony Point cemetery in Allen County. A native of Allen County, she was the daughter of the late Virge Meador and Alma Boren Meador. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert O. Martin, 2 sisters, Doris Meador Clark and Bernice Meador Jones and a nephew, Benny Gossett Clark. Survivors include 2 brothers - Stanley Meador of Hoopeston, Illinois and Thurman Meador of Wellington, Illinois; 1 nephew - Donald Lee Meador and wife Karen of Virginia; 4 nieces - April June Meador Mayberry and husband Don of Hoopeston, Illinois, Carol Meador NIckelson of Wellington, Illinois, Peggy Jones Williams and husband Bob of Portland, Tennessee and Betty Weir of Franklin; a chocolate lab - Sadie Mae and several great and great great nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to charity of choice.

Mrs. Irene M. Law, age 76, of Franklin, died Sunday, November 11th, 2012 at her residence. Arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home. Cremation was chosen. There will be a private family memorial service at a later date. A native of Old Town, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Cecilia LeVesque. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, William (Bill) Law of Franklin; 2 daughters Kathy Brown and husband Garry of Auburn and Donna England and husband Ricky of Auburn; 5 sons John Law and wife Sherry of Franklin, David Law and wife Connie of Franklin, Joey Law and wife Patty of Franklin, Danny Law and wife Kathy of Baker, Florida and Jimmy Law and wife Pam of Havlack, N.C.; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. There will be no visitation. Memorial gifts may take the form of donations to the American Diabetes Association and/or the charity of ones choice.

Mr. Bobby Samuels, age 65, of Franklin, died Thursday, November 8th, 2012 at the Medical Center in Franklin. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1pm at the Franklin First United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Greenlawn cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Simpson County Honor Guard. A native of Simpson County, he was the son of the late Hosea V. Samuels and Bessie Rigsby Samuels. He was an employee of Meritor in Franklin and an Army Veteran. Survivors include his wife - Patty Wright Samuels of Franklin; 1 daughter - Rev. Melanie Samuels-Black and husband Herbert of Bowling Green; 3 step daughters - Bridgette Cruz and husband Adrian of Pikeville, KY, Jessica Habern and husband Solomon of Franklin, Ashley Taylor of Lexington, KY; 5 brothers - William Samuels and wife Elizabeth, Jimmie Samuels and wife Babel, Kenneth Samuels and wife Teresa all of Franklin, Joseph and wife Earline of New York and Leon Samuels of Bowling Green; 1 sister - Mary Cooper of Louisville, KY; sisters in law - Carol Samuels, Gail Overstreet and husband Kenneth, Brenda Hays and husband John, Teresa Williamson and husband David and brother in law - Elster Wright and wife Sherry; loving granddaughters - Mercedes Samuels and Mia Black; step grandchildren - Yakura, Christian, Josiah, Reyquan, Alexander, William, Jericha, Kassie and Keearal. Visitation will be from 5pm to 8pm Monday at the Greater Taylor AME Church and from 11am until funeral time Tuesday at the Franklin First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Margaret Geneva Lillard Powell, age 86, of Franklin, died Saturday, November 3rd, 2012 at the Franklin Simpson Nursing and Rehab Center. Crafton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 1pm at the Whites Chapel Methodist Church in Drake, KY. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A native of Warren County, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Leon Lillard and Allie Aline Cantrell Lillard. She was a homemaker and a member of Whites Chapel Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband- John William Powell, a son -Luther William Powell, 2 brothers- Cecil Lillard and Everett Lillard and a sister- Pearl Hedgecough. Survivors include 1 daughter Joyce Maril Powell of Franklin; 2 brothers Herbert Leon Lillard, Jr. and Leonard Lillard both of Drake, KY; 1 sister Voleta Forbes of Franklin; 3 grandchildren Heather T.A. Bowman, Mary Beth Gaddis, and Cheyenne Leigh Horne; 1 great grandchild Wesley Edward Bowman. Visitation will begin at 11am Wednesday at Whites Chapel Methodist Church.

Mrs. Ruby Reeder Pope, age 89, of Franklin, died Friday, November 2nd, 2012 at the Franklin Nursing and Rehab Center. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Monday at 1pm with burial to follow in the Buck Allen Crossroads cemetery in Allen County. A native of Warren County, she was the daughter of the late Carl Reeder and Annie Austin Reeder. She was a homemaker and farmed with her grandson Jimmy Law. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank M. Pope in 2011, a brother Gilbert Reeder and brother in law Eldon B. Alderson. Survivors include 2 daughters Ruth Ann Law and husband Harry of Franklin and Shirley Keen and husband Lee of Franklin; 3 sisters Virginia Alderson, Mary Britt and Margaret Oaks all of Allen County; 6 grandchildren Jimmy Law, Frankie Law, Vicki Gibbs and Timmy Keen all of Franklin, Beth Smith of Scottsville and Kathy Carr of St. Louis, MO; 13 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren; sister in law Earlene Reeder of Allen County and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin after 1pm Sunday and after 6am Monday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mr. Larry D. Jones, age 74, of Franklin, died Sunday, October 28th, 2012, at his residence. Crafton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A graveside service for the public will be held Friday at 4pm in the Sulphur Spring cemetery. A native of Simpson County, he was the son of the late Roy Jones and Agnes Dotson Jones. He was retired from the Kendall Company. Survivors include his wife Bettie Delk Jones of Franklin; 1 daughter Pamela " PJ " Jones of Franklin; 1 son Larry Lynn Jones and companion Sharon Still of Franklin; 2 grandsons Steven Jones and companion Jessica Dye and Dylan Jones all of Franklin and 1 great grandson Jaedon Jones of Franklin. There will be no visitation.

Mrs. Mary Winn Dorris Gregory, age 83, of Franklin, died Saturday, October 27th, 2012, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Tuesday at 11am with burial to follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. A native of Robertson County Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Robert Golden Dorris and Ora Ethel Spivey Dorris. She was preceded in death by her husband William Gregory. Mrs. Gregory was a member of Providence Baptist Church and was retired from the Kendall Company in Franklin. Survivors include her son David Gregory of Franklin; 2 brothers- Donald Paul Dorris of Franklin and Terry Allen Dorris of Westmoreland, TN; 3 sisters- Mildred Lucille Jenkins of Springfield, TN, Betty E. Jones of Indianapolis and Linda Carol Garrison of Franklin. Visitation will begin at 11am Monday and after 6am Tuesday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mr. Melvin Mitchell, age 64, of Anaheim, California, died Friday morning, October 26th, 2012 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. Crafton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A graveside service will be held Sunday at 2pm in Greenlawn cemetery with military honors being conducted by the Simpson County Honor Guard. A native of Simpson County, he was the son of the late Charles Mitchell and Mary Clyde Taylor Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell was a Marine Veteran. Survivors include his wife Shirley Ann Ray Mitchell of Anaheim, California ; 3 children Melvin Mitchell, Jr. and wife Holly of Franklin, Marcus Mitchell-Kaari Ali and wife Sunday of California and Tony Deran Mitchell of California; 3 brothers Harry Finn, Jr. of Louisville, Donald Finn of Pembroke, KY and Stanley Finn of Clarksville; 4 grandchildren Keleena Lewis, Charlie Marie Mitchell, Tony Marie Mitchell and Xander Ali. There will be no visitation.

Mr. Jonathan Lee Eaton, age 28, of Franklin, died Monday evening, Oct. 22, 2012 at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Thursday at 11am with burial to follow in the Blue Door cemetery in Mitchellville, TN. A native of Warren County, he was the son of John and Cathy Eaton of Franklin and Shelby Slack Cornelius of Franklin. In addition to his parents, he is survived by 2 brothers Kyle Howell and Tyler Eaton both of Franklin; 2 sisters Heather Howell and Lauren Eaton both of Franklin; grandparents Lynn & Rick Henderson of Franklin; grandfather Harold Cassitty of Franklin; great grandmother Betty Davidson of Franklin; nieces and nephews Landon Brown, Bryson Howell and Hadley Brown of Franklin. Visitation will begin at 1pm Wednesday and after 6am Thursday at Crafton Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the Jonathan Eaton Benefit Fund at Franklin Bank & Trust Co.

Mr. Jackie Moe Spivey, age 76, of Springfield, TN, died Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Robertson County, Tennessee. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Wednesday at 1pm with burial to follow in the Groves cemetery in Robertson County. A native of Simpson County, he was the son of the late Arlo Spivey and Gladys Neal Spivey. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Ann Groves Spivey. Survivors include his wife Wanda Sue Harris Spivey; 4 daughters Beverly Chandler of Franklin, Rhonda Ramsey of Portland, Sherry Lambert of Greenwood, Indiana and Jacqueline Pate of Orlinda; 1 son Donald Spivey of Portland; 3 step children Sue Ann Dean of Springfield, J.R. Merritt of Pleasant View, TN and Carrie Merritt; 8 sisters Helen Clayburn of Springfield, Mabel Redferin of Cross Plains, Margaret Warren of Portland, Diane Wix of Cross Plains, Wanda Tate of Orlinda, Gladys Carter of Orlinda, Betty Jo Hodges of Portland and Linda Seabolt of Springfield; 1 brother Billy Spivey of Franklin; 18 grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 10am Tuesday and after 6am Wednesday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Debora Kay Lile, age 47 of Franklin, died Thursday, January 17th, 2013 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Sunday at 2pm with burial to follow in the Woodburn cemetery. A native of Simpson County, she was the daughter of Howard G. Huff of Franklin and Peggy Langley of Franklin. She was a cafeteria worker at Lincoln Elementary in Franklin. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband Ralph Lile of Franklin; 1 son Grant Eugene Lile of Franklin; 3 sisters Cindy Key of Warren County, Anita Willis of Warren County and Charlotte Coursey of Franklin; 2 brothers Mike Coursey of Scottsville and Jeff Coursey of Franklin; step mother Lillian Huff of Franklin; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2pm to 8pm Saturday and after 6am Sunday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Mildred L. Shaw, age 75 of Scottsville, died Friday, January 4th, 2013, at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Monday at 11am with burial to follow in Shady Grove cemetery. A native of Simpson County, she was the daughter of the late Lester Fowler and Zida Cantrell Fowler. She and her husband David R. Shaw owned and operated the Gold City Store for some 16 years. She then worked at the Gold City Feed Mill. Mrs. Shaw was preceded in death by her husband David R. Shaw and a daughter Linda Sue Estes. Survivors include 4 children James Shaw and wife Olivia of Iowa, Charlie Shaw and wife Monica of Franklin, Crystal Jones of Indianapolis and David Shaw and wife Rosemary of Indiana; 1 sister Jean Travelstead and husband C.C. of Franklin and a sister in law Lucy Fowler of Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 3pm to 8pm Sunday and after 6am Monday at Crafton Funeral Home.
