Mr. Jesse Gray Lamb, age 94 of Franklin, died Wednesday, December 26th, 2012, at the Medical Center in Franklin. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Saturday at 2pm with burial to follow in Sulphur Spring cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Simpson County Honor Guard. A native of Simpson County, he was the son of the late Jesse Elmer Lamb and Sellie Knight Lamb. He was a member of Franklin First Baptist Church where he had served as deacon. He worked for Southern States Petroleum for 34 years and retired as manager. Mr. Lamb was a World War II Navy Veteran serving from 1944 to 1946. He was a member of Simpson Benevolent Lodge #177. Mr. Lamb and his wife Eleanor enjoyed winters fishing in Lake Okeechobee in Florida. He was preceded in death by his step mother Mary Lamb. Survivors include 5 daughters Sandra Moody and husband Jim, Judy Monroe and husband Sonny, Carol Clark, Cathy Carver and husband Roger all of Franklin and Suellen Walton and husband Neil of Woodburn; a half brother Mike Lamb of Atlanta; grandchildren Melissa Elmore and husband Dave, Danny Monroe, Troy Monroe and wife Karen, Cristi Freese and husband Dax, Phil Johnson and wife Amy, Robbye Link and husband Sean, Craig Johnson and wife Amy, Tommy Dixon and wife Jean, Bobby Dixon and wife Tammy, Derek Carver and wife Courtney, Josh Link and wife Erin, Justin Link and wife Christy and Jacob Walton; 32 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3pm to 9pm Friday at Crafton Funeral Home. A Masonic service will be held Saturday at the beginning of the funeral at 2pm. Memorial gifts may take the form of donations to the Franklin First Baptist Church or charity of choice.

Mrs. Golda Bryant Coker, age 92 of Portland, died Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at St Thomas Alive Hospice in Nashville. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Saturday at 11am with burial to follow in Greenlawn cemetery. A native of Simpson County, she was the daughter of the late Elijah (Jack) Bryant an Elizabeth Isabelle Carr. She was a past employee of the Lenk/Drackett Company. She was preceded in death by her husband H.V. Coker. Survivors include 2 sons Richard (Ricky) Coker and wife Carol of Portland and Gary Coker and wife Karen of Hendersonville; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 to 8pm Friday at Crafton Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.

Mrs. Ella Josephine Hunt Woody, age 97 of Franklin, died Saturday, December 22, 2012 at the Medical Center in Franklin. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Thursday at 10am with burial to follow in the New Salem cemetery. A native of Simpson County, she was the daughter of the late Al W. Hunt and Lillie Milloway Hunt. She was preceded in death by her husband William A. Woody and a sister Virginia Hall and brother in law George Hall. Survivors include a nephew W. A. Fox and wife Mildred of Cincinnati and a cousin Louise Steel and husband Frank of Franklin. Visitation will be from 4pm to 7pm Wednesday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mr. David Lloyd Huff, age 67 of Woodburn, died Friday, December 21, 2012 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Monday at 11am with burial in Blackjack cemetery. A native of Macon County Tennessee, he was the son of the late Oliver Huff and Evelyn Carnahan Huff. He was a farmer. He was preceded in death by a daughter Debbie Gregory. Survivors include children David Huff, Jr. and wife April of Woodburn, Kevin Orange and wife Mona of Cross Plains, TN and Pam Wisdom and husband Bobby of Woodburn; brothers and sisters Alma Sue Brown, Martha Johnson, Bobby Huff, James Huff and Hubert Huff all of Franklin, Janie Gann of Bowling Green, Joan Felts of Nashville and Dorothy Fleming of Lakeland, Florida; former wife Wanda Huff of Bowling Green; grandchildren James Michael Gregory, Ashley Cantrell, Heather Gregory, Tiffany Orange, Megan Brittle, Kacey Norris, Justin Wisdom and Matthew Wisdom; great grand children Cooper Gregory, Raylan Cantrell, Carson Cantrell, Rileigh Gregory and Levi Gregory. Visitation will begin at 4:30pm Sunday and after 6am Monday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mr. Doyle Gene Hall, age 67 of Portland, TN, died Thursday, December 20th, 2012, at the Skyline Medical Center in Nashville. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Sunday at 1:30pm with burial to follow in the Francis cemetery in Todd County. A native of Todd County Kentucky, he was the son of the late Marvin Hall and Myrtle Mitchell Hall. He was a skilled carpenter. Mr. Hall attended the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Orlinda, TN. He is survived by his wife Mary Jane Soberg Hall of Portland; 4 sons- Doyle Gene Hall, II and wife Jeanette of Gainesboro, TN, Jeffrey A. Hall of Portland, Daniel Scott Hall and wife Julie of Goodlettsville, TN and Eric Michael Hall of Portland; 1 brother Douglas Hall of Portage, Indiana; 4 sisters - Mary Blake of Hopkinsville, KY, Linda Glass of Pembroke, KY, Loretta McIntyre f Russellville, KY and Joan White of Lebanon, TN; grandchildren John Hall of Elkton, KY, Nick Hall of Elkton, KY and Joshua Hall of Clarksville, TN; great grandchildren Ethan & Ella Hall of Elkton, KY and Katie L. Hall of Clarksville and Addie & Gavin Hall of Goodlettsville, TN. Visitation will be from 2pm to 6pm Saturday and after 6am Sunday at Crafton Funeral Home. Memorial gifts may be made to the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Orlinda, TN.

Mrs. Patricia Gayle Clinard Bayles, age 58 of Franklin, died Friday, December 14th, 2012 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Sunday at 3p at the Franklin Church of Christ with burial to follow in Tyree Chapel cemetery. A native of Robertson County Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late H.G. Clinard and Ruby Mae Whitaker Clinard. She was a member of the Franklin Church of Christ. Mrs. Bayles was preceded in death by a sister Linda Barbee. Survivors include her husband Mike Bayles of Franklin; 1 son John Michael Bayles and wife Leslie of Franklin; 1 brother Bobby Clinard of Greebrier, TN and 1 sister Sandra Towe of Allen County. Visitation will begin at 1pm Sunday at the Franklin Church of Christ. Memorial gifts may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1201 Story Avenue Ste 200, Louisville KY 40206.

Mr. Gary Wayne Sloan, age 63 of Franklin, died Wednesday morning, December 12th, 2012, at his residence. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where a memorial service will be held Friday at 2pm with Bro. Larry Harrison officiating. A native of Robertson County Tennessee, he was the son of the late Robert Earl Sloan and Frances Kathleen Bayles Sloan. He was self employed as a land surveyor. He was a member of the Smyrna Church in Allen County and was a member of the New Salem Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by a brother - Jeffery Lynn Sloan. Survivors include his wife Sheila Kent Sloan of Franklin; 1 daughter Dana Gregory of Franklin; mother - Edna Pearl Mink Sloan of Franklin; 3 sisters Resa Dianne Sloan Hodge of Indianapolis, Rhonda Joyce Weatherspoon of Indianapolis and Sheila Elaine Sloan Witt of Franklin; 1 step sister - Mary Ann Ramsey of Franklin; 1 step son Richard Opie Kent of Bowling Green; granddaughter Allee KyLynne Barry and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 12pm until 2pm Friday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Martha Lindley Dodge, age 68 of Franklin, died Saturday, December 8th, 2012 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. Crafton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Cremation was chosen. There will be no service. She was a native of Greenville, South Carolina. Mrs. Dodge was a member of the Church of Nazarene in Franklin. Survivors include 4 children Lori Farmer and Linda Miskic both of Franklin, Richard Watson and wife Tonia of Portland and Kathy Lamers of Tennessee; 10 grandchildren. Visitation will be from 11am until 7pm Thursday and Friday at the Church of Nazarene.

Mrs. Laverne Snider Newton, age 88 of Franklin, died Saturday, December 1st, 2012, at the Franklin Simpson Nursing and Rehab Center in Franklin. Crafton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1pm at the Franklin First United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Greenlawn cemetery. A native of Simpson County, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Lila Snider. She had been Executive Secretary of the Shelby County Tennessee YMCA. Mrs. Newton was a member of the St. Lukes United Methodist Church in Memphis and attended the Franklin First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband T.A. Newton and a grandson - Justin Harlow. Survivors include 1 son John Newton and wife Debe of Franklin; 1 sister Patty Caudill of Franklin; 1 grandchild Trey Harlow and 1 great grandchild Beau Harlow. Visitation will begin at 3:30pm Monday and after 6:00am Tuesday at Crafton Funeral Home. The body will lie in state at the church beginning at 11:00am Tuesday. The family has requested that memorial gifts be made to the Pastors Fund of the Franklin First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Helen Vance Crafton, age 87 of Franklin, died Thursday, November 29th, 2012 at the Medical Center in Franklin. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Monday at 11am with burial to follow in the Greenlawn cemetery. A native of Simpson County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence London Vance and Beulah Tarrents Vance. She was a member of Salmons General Baptist Church. Her employment days included working at the Dog Wagon Restaurant, The Shirt Factory, Frosty Freeze and was retired from the Lenk/Drackett Company. After retiring she spent most of her time assisting at Crafton Funeral Home. She also enjoyed visiting and caring for friends and family who could not care for themselves. Her visits to nursing facilities and elderly friends homes kept her happy and helpful in her later years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Holt Crafton and 2 brothers Carl and Herbert Vance. Survivors include 2 sons Thomas Crafton and wife Ann Mary and Gary Crafton and wife Jennifer all of Franklin; 1 daughter Pam Hammonds and husband Steve of Franklin; 1 brother John Vance of Woodburn; 2 sisters Oleta Dearing and husband Bobby of Franklin and Bonnie Perkins of Portage, Indiana; 4 grandchildren Mary Thomas Vincent and husband Eric, Shanna Wisdom and husband Art, Patrick Crafton and Anne Hayden Crafton all of Franklin; 4 great grandchildren Andrew Thomas Vincent, Cameron Tyler Wisdom, Connor Wayne Vincent and Corbin Holt Vincent all of Franklin. Visitation will begin at 1pm Sunday and after 6am Monday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mr. Bradley Thomas Threlkel, age 21 of Woodburn, died Monday, November 26th, 2012 at his residence. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Saturday at 11am with burial to follow in the Threlkel cemetery in Morgantown, KY. He was a native of Simpson County. He was preceded in death by his grandfather - Merile B. O'Bryan and aunt Sue Threlkel. Survivors include his father Henry Thomas Threlkel and companion Lisa Rue of Franklin and mother Fern O'Bryan Mercer and husband Joe of Woodburn; 1 brother Zackary Threlkel of Franklin; paternal grandparents Henry B. & Lois Threlkel of Morgantown; maternal grandmother Dorothy O'Bryan of Franklin; nephew Zayden Bryan Threlkel of Franklin; aunts & uncles Janice Morgan of Indianapolis; Ron & Barbara Threlkel of Plano, Betty & Jimmy Vance of Franklin, James & Anita Minton of Morgantown, Merile and Carol O'Bryan of Franklin, Roy & Barbara O'Bryan of Franklin, and Leo OBryan of Nashville; 5 cousins. Visitation will begin at 2pm Friday and after 6am Saturday at Crafton Funeral Home.

A former Franklin resident, Mr. Ollie Howard Brown, age 79 of Toledo, Ohio, died Tuesday, November 20th, 2012, at Lake Park Nursing Center in Toledo. Funeral service will be held at 1pm Thursday at Crafton Funeral Home with burial to follow in Old School cemetery in Fountain Run, KY with military honors. A native of Fountain Run, KY, he was the son of the late Houston Howard Brown and Nannie Mae Chism Brown. He was an Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. He was a transmission mechanic. Survivors include 3 sons Jeano Brown and wife Charlotte of Toledo, Leonardo Brown of Charlotte, NC, and Nathaniel Brown of Toledo; long time companion Janice Swann Brown; 17 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 11am Thursday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mr. Roger G. Burton, age 59 of Franklin, died Saturday, November 25th, 2012 at his residence. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Friday at 11am with burial to follow in Green Lawn cemetery. A native of Simpson County, he was the son of the late Oscar Burton and Gladys Marlin Burton. He had worked as assistant grocery manager for IGA for 15 years and worked for 17 years for the Franklin Favorite as post press supervisor. He enjoyed music and played the bass guitar with various bands over the years. He was preceded in death by a brother Donald Burton and a sister Shirley Burton. Survivors include 2 sons Shawn Burton of Franklin and Brian Burton of White House, TN; 2 brothers Harold Burton of Franklin and Ray Burton of Hawaii; 6 grandchildren Brandon, Haley, Tyler, Troy, Rhiley and Harley; 6 nephews and 4 nieces. Visitation will begin at 11am Thursday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mr. Billy Jack Bowles, age 90 of Franklin, died Tuesday, November 20th, 2012 at the Hospice Center in Bowling Green. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1pm at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial to follow at the Harlans Crossroad cemetery. A native of Monroe County, he was the son of the late Frank Bowles and Lecta Capshaw Bowles. He was employed by the Kendall Company, was grounds keeper for Green Lawn cemetery and had worked as a security guard for Pinkerton Company. Mr. Bowles was a World War II Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife - Mildred Crawford Bowles. Survivors include 2 brothers Rex Bowles of Franklin and Marshall Bowles of Tompkinsville. Visitation will be from 4:30pm to 8pm Tuesday (today) at Crafton Funeral Home and Wednesday from 10am to 1pm at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville.
