Mr. Ernest Guy Finn, age 85 of Franklin, died Saturday, November 17th, 2012, at the VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN. Cremation was chosen. There will be neither service nor visitation. A native of Simpson County, he was the son of the late William King Finn and Myrtie Laura Cox Finn. He was an assistant manager of the former Hills Service Station in Franklin and was an Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. Mr. Finn was a long time member of Hillsdale Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Lorene Hesson Finn of Franklin and 1 daughter Lisa Finn of Franklin.

Ms. Lera Faye Graves, age 79 of Franklin, died Sunday, November 18th, 2012, at the Auburn Health Care in Auburn. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Tuesday at 2pm with burial to follow in Whites Chapel cemetery. A native of Allen County, she was the daughter of the late Arris Trammel and Verdie Mabel Pharris Trammel. She was employed by Walmart in Franklin and worked in the Garden Center. She was preceded in death by her step mother Ossie Trammel and former husband James Graves, Sr. Survivors include her children James Doc Graves, Jr. and wife Dianne of Franklin, Ricky W. Graves, Sr. and wife Alice of Franklin, Ronald Ray Graves of Franklin, Danny Dillow and wife Sandy of South Shore, KY, David Pat Graves of Franklin, Kenny Lee Graves and wife Ruth of Franklin and Tracie Lynn Holmstedt and husband Jim of Coos Bay, Oregon; 3 brothers Arris Trammel, Jr. and wife Jerri of Newman, Ill, Gene Trammel of Newman, Ill and Jimmy Trammel of Martinsville, Ill; 2 sisters Rachel Parker and husband Bill of Springfield, TN, and Daphne Susie Christine Trammel of Ill; 17 grandchildren and 18 grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 9am Tuesday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mr. Oscar Rhea Wren, age 91 of Auburn, went to be with his Heavenly Father, Saturday, November 17th, 2012, at the Medical Center in Franklin. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 1PM Tuesday at the New Friendship Baptist Church in Auburn with burial to follow in the Maple Grove cemetery in Russellville. He was born in Logan County on March 21, 1921 to Charlie and Iva Beasley Wren. He was preceded in death by his wife Louise C. Wren and a brother James W. Wren. He was a retired farmer and Kentucky State employee with the Arson Division and Department of Aging. He served as Mayor of Auburn for 15 years, where he was always seeking federal and state money for revitalization projects. He served on the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council, he was a member of the Barren River Area Development District Board of Directors where he served as chairman of the board for 2 years. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #278 for 60 years and Shriners International. He was a 50 year member of the Eastern Star Chapter #530 and was elected Worthy Grand Patron of the Order of Eastern Star of Kentucky in 1974. He was a long time member of New Friendship Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. Survivors include one son Rhea Dean Wren and wife Sherry of Franklin; one daughter Faye W. Puyear and husband William of Hodgenville; 4 grandsons Zak Wren and wife Kim and Matt Wren and wife Daphne of Franklin, Chad Puyear and wife Lori of Hodgenville, Ty Puyear and wife Mandy of Bardstown and 9 great grandchildren, Ariel Aubrey, Dax, Max, Kaden, Chase, Bryson, Kenny and Taylor. Visitation will be from 2pm to 8pm Monday and after 8am Tuesday at New Friendship Baptist Church. There will be an Eastern Star and Masonic Service at the church Monday at 7pm. Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Oneida Baptist Institute, POB 67, Oneida, KY 40972 and/or New Friendship Baptist Church in Auburn.

Mr. Wayne K. Everson, age 75 of Franklin died Friday, November 16th, 2012 at his residence. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Sunday at 2pm with burial to follow in Green Lawn cemetery. A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he was the son of the late Charles Everson and Ruth Dethloff. He was employed by E&H; Siding and was a truck driver. He was an Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by a son - Wayne ""Punky" Everson; 1 brother John "Jack" Everson and 2 sisters - Phyllis O'Brien and Lynn Bernhardt Survivors include his wife - Jessie Hall Everson of Franklin; 2 daughters - Christie Reynolds of Green Bay, Wisconsin and Toni Hines of Franklin; 1 brother -- Allan Everson of Wisconsin; 3 sisters - Joyce Lewandowski, Lois Porath and Mary Brandt all of Wisconsin; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 2pm Saturday and after 6am Sunday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Carol A. McQuade
(January 24, 1947 - September 22, 2011)

Carol A. McQuade, age 64, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (September 22, 2011) at her home in Leitchfield.

She was born on January 24, 1947, at Horse Branch, KY, the daughter of George Alfred and Dorothy Schultz Colburn. She was retired from the Beechmont Printing Company.

She is survived by her husband, John McQuade of Leitchfield, one son, John McQuade Jr of Leitchfield, one daughter, Tina Hartlage and her husband Daniel Hartlage of Leitchfield, one brother, David Copeland of Louisville, one sister, Althea Hanks of Louisville, three grandchildren, Stacy Meredith, Daniel Hartlage Jr. and Jason Hartlage and his wife Brittany, one great-grandchild, Madison Hartlage.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday (September 24, 2011) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Cremation will follow.

Libby Ellen Jaggers
(August 22, 1966 - September 7, 2011)

Libby Ellen Jaggers, age 45, of Clinton Oklahoma, formerly of Leitchfield KY, passed away Wednesday, (September 7, 2011) in Clinton.

Libby was born on August 22, 1966, in Grayson County, KY, the daughter of Freeman (Skeeter) and Brenda Day Jaggers. She was a Medical Transcriptionist at home, a member of the Eastern Star and was a member of the Anneta United Baptist Church after being saved in a revival held by Bros. Edward Day and Roy Sanders at Kyrock United Baptist Church at age 10.

Other than her parents, Freeman (Skeeter) and Brenda Jaggers, she is survived by her fiancé, Jeremy Keil of Clinton, two brothers, Tracy (Jenniffer) Jaggers of Leitchfield and Brian (Laurel) Jaggers of Anneta, four nieces, Mandy, Aleisha, Melodie and Kiri, and three nephews, Ryan, Mason and Damon.

Libby was preceded in death by her grandparents, Rev. Edward Jr. and Iva Mae Hazelwood Day and Euda and Lona Jaggers Cardwell.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday (September 15, 2011) at the Anneta United Baptist Church in Leitchfield under the direction of the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bros. Thomas Meredith and Chris Conder will be officiating. Burial will be in the Anneta cemetery.

Friends may call at the Anneta United Baptist Church after 4:00 p.m. Wednesday until time of services on Thursday.

Willie Moore
(October 6, 1922 - September 6, 2011)

Willie Moore, age 88, of Leitchfield KY, passed away Tuesday, (September 6, 2011) at Grayson Manor Nursing Home in Leitchfield.

She was born on October 6, 1922, in Edmonson County, KY, the daughter of the late Leonard and Ada Constant Snyder. She was a retired owner and operator of Moore’s Grocery and was a member of the Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, Leonard Moore (Charlene) of Leitchfield, two daughters, Bonnie Escue (Clifton) of Falls of Rough, KY and Ellen Hayes (Eugene) of Leitchfield, one brother, James Snyder of Millwood, KY, one sister, Wilma Byers of Elizabethtown, KY, 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday (September 8, 2011) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro Charles Larry Bell will be officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until time of service.

James O. Nunn
(January 28, 1935 - September 8, 2011)

James O. Nunn, age 76, of Leitchfield, KY passed away Thursday, (September 8, 2011) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center.

He was born on January 28, 1935, in Rock Hill, SC, the son of Jack and Emma Schillinlaw Nunn, he worked in maintenance at the Grayson Manor Nursing Home here in Leitchfield. He was a friend to everyone he met and shared his unselfish love with every member of his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Knuckles Spears Nunn of Leitchfield, two sons, Mike Nunn of S.C. and William Nunn of IN, four daughters, Phyllis West and Joy Imbrescia both of Leitchfield, Linda Haag of N.C. and Lora Dillon of TX, four brothers, Jack, Randy and Steve Nunn of S.C. and Bobby Nunn of N.C., one sister, Vivian Coleman of S.C., 15 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday (September 11, 2011) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Doug Edwards and Bro. Johnny Knuckles will be officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Lawn Memorial Gardens cemetery in Pineville, KY.

Pearl Penner
(July 24, 1916 - September 4, 2011)

Pearl Embry Penner, age 95, of Leitchfield, passed away Sunday (September 4, 2011) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, KY.

She was born on July 24, 1916 in Caneyville, KY, the daughter of the late Hobert and Dora Frank Embry. She was a member of Claggett United Baptist Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Phyllis Haycraft (Phillip), Glenda Pierce, Judy Langdon (Phillip); three sons, Earl Penner (Ann), Bobby Penner (Alice), and Joe Penner (Shirley) all of Leitchfield; two sisters, Lorene Frazier of Irvin, KY, and Nadine Daughtery of Louisville; one brother, Kenny Embry of Irvin, KY; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hobert and Dora Frank Embry; her husband, Austin Penner; one son, Murrell Penner; one great-grandchild; one brother, Everett Embry; and two sisters, Pauline Morgan, and Beulah Johnson.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday (September 7, 2011) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Phillip Langdon will be officiating. Burial will be in the Leitchfield Memory Gardens cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield after 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, and after 9:00a.m. until service time on Wednesday.

Billy Kiper
(October 23, 1941 - September 21, 2011)

Billy Kiper, age 69, of Eastview, KY, passed away Wednesday, (September 21, 2011) at the Hardin Memorial Hospital.

He was born on October 23, 1941, in Breckinridge Co., KY, the son of Dempster & Leila Frank Kiper. He was a retired truck driver.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Hayes Kiper of Eastview, 3 sons Darrell (Amy) of Buffalo, James (Kim) & Scott (Tammie) Kiper all of East View, 2 daughters Tammy (Jimmy) Bischoff of Shepherdsville & Angela (John) Kiper of Clarkson, 1 sister Louise Miller of Louisville, & 1 half brother Dempster of Louisville, 7 grandchildren& 10step grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:00 P.M.CDT (September 24, 2011) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville with Rev. officiating with burial in the Caneyville cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville from 11:00 – 9:00 P.M. Friday, and after 9:00 Saturday CDT.

Otis Saltsman
(August 2, 1920 - September 17, 2011)

Otis Saltsman, age 91, of Leitchfield KY, passed away Saturday, (September 17, 2011) at his home.

He was born on August 2, 1920, in Grayson County, KY, the son of Will and Phoeby Ashley Saltsman. He was a retired farmer, an Army Veteran of World War II and was a member of the McGrew General Baptist Church.

He is survived by a son, Donald Saltsman (Beulah) of Leitchfield four grandchildren, Matthew, Taylor, Jamie and Timmy Saltsman and four great-grandchildren, Hannah, Brayden, Taylor and Breanna Saltsman.

Other than his parents, He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Saltsman, a son, Jimmy Saltsman and a brother, Lawrence Saltsman.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday (September 22, 2011) at the McGrew General Baptist Church in Leitchfield. Bro Charlie Smith and Bro. Bill Skipworth will be officiating. Burial will be in the Decker cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at McGrew General Baptist Church until time of service on Thursday.

Eugene Harp
(July 27, 1937 - September 18, 2011)

Eugene Harp, age 74, of Clarkson KY, passed away Sunday, (September 18, 2011) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, KY.

He was born on July 27, 1937, in Sweeden, KY, the son of Jack Theodore and Effie Johnson Harp. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and was a member of the Anneta United Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Rita Pierce Harp, one step-daughter, Sandra Gail Hayes of Leitchfield, three step-sons, Pat Grant of Falls of Rough, KY, Greg Grant of Clarkson, and Willie Grant of Houston, TX, three sisters, Gray Vincent and Angela Cherry both of Brownsville, KY and Mildred Webb of Sweeden, three brothers, Ed of Brownsville, Gary of Leitchfield and Wayne Harp of Sweeden, ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday (September 22, 2011) at the Anneta United Baptist Church in Leitchfield. Bros Charles Woosley and Thomas Meredith will be officiating. Burial will be in the Anneta cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until time of service at the church.

Glendell Lee Joyce
(January 1, 1935 - September 30, 2011)

Glendell Lee Joyce, age 76, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Friday, (September 30, 2011) at the Hosparus Inpatient Pavilion in Louisville, KY.

He was born on January 1, 1935, in Big Clifty, KY, the son of the late Roy and Hallie Spencer Joyce. He was a retired clerk from the FSA, a member of the Grayson County Soil Conservation Board, and was a member of the Mt. Zion Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Susie (Cain) Joyce of Leitchfield; two daughters, Teresa Langley (Rudolph) of Leitchfield, and Rhonda Joyce of Elizabethtown; one brother, Billy Joyce (Nell) of Big Clifty; and several nieces and nephews.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, and one brother, Bobby Joyce.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday (October 3, 2011) at the Mt. Zion Christian Church. Bro. Tim Dennis will be officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Church cemetery.

Timothy Mudd
(May 23, 1954 - September 30, 2011)

Timothy Mudd, age 57, of Big Clifty, KY, passed away Friday, (September 30, 2011) at his home in Big Clifty, KY.

He was born on May 23, 1954, in KY, the son of Willie and Virginia Frank Simerly Mudd. He was retired from the Quaker Oats Company.

He is survived by three sons, Joshua Lynn Mudd (Monica) of Big Clifty, Willie Mackneal Mudd (Kimberly) of Caneyville and Dillon Robert Mudd of Mo, one daughter, Tonya Marie Mudd Neff (William), four brothers, Carson Mudd (Sue) of Caneyville, Raymond Judd Jr. (Cloma) of MO, Joey Mudd of Colorado and Charles Mudd of West Virginia, six sisters, Thelma Levert, Lorelei Hines, Gail Davis (Raymond), Mae Osborn (John), Bridgett Litton (Tony) and Lindy Suman (Joe) all of MO., 13 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. His parents and one brother, Tony Mudd preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday (October 4, 2011) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro. Mac Brooks, Bro. Troy Miller and Bro. Kevin Logsdon will be officiating. Burial will be in the Frank cemetery.

Ricky Smith
(March 6, 1960 - October 2, 2011)

Ricky Smith, age 51, of Big Clifty, KY, passed away Sunday, (October 2, 2011) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, KY.

He was born on March 6, 1960, in Grayson County, KY, the son of Leonard Smith and Elsie Lindsey. He was a volunteer fireman for the East Grayson County Fire Department.

He is survived by two sons, Mark and Kevin Smith both of Big Clifty; his mother, Elsie Lindsey of Big Clifty; one brother, Everett Lindsey (Patty) of Big Clifty; two sisters, Willodean Jarboe (Jackie) of Leitchfield, and Pamela Smith (Jim) of AL.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Smith, one sister, Barbara Brenner, and one brother, Roger Smith.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday (October 5, 2011) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the Sanders cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of service.

John Edward Damon
(June 30, 1931 - October 6, 2011)

John Edward Damon, age 80, of Short Creek, KY, passed away Thursday, (October 6, 2011) at his home in Short Creek.

He was born on June 30, 1931, in Corydon, IN the son of John Edgar and Nellie McCullumn Damon. He was a veteran of the USAF and a member of the Short Creek United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Millie Florence Wilson Damon of Short Creek, three daughters, Ann Marie, Deborah Lee and Nancy Lynn Damon all of England, one brother, Loren R. Damon of IN, three, sisters, Beatrice F. Vertrees, Ruth Evelyn Smith and Leona M. Burres all of IN, 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday (October 8, 2011) at the Short Creek United Methodist Church with Bro Billy Compton officiating. Burial will be in the Shady Grove cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Funeral Home and after 1:00 p.m. at the church.
