The Sumner County, TN native was a homemaker and very active member of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church. She was a daughter of the late Arthur Taylor and Bevie Meador Taylor and wife of the late Vetres Lee Law.

She is survived by 2 daughters: Mary Nell Law Davis, Mt. Olive Community and Betty Jean Law, Hendersonville, TN;
2 sisters: Viola Crocker, Gallatin, TN and Lavern Graves and husband, Paul, of the Mt. Olive Community;
A special sister-in-law: Mae Taylor, Mt. Olive Community;
6 grandchildren: Tim Davis and wife, Amber, Mt. Juliet, TN; Carolyn Richey and husband, Randy and Monty Davis and wife, Rachel, all of Scottsville, KY; Amy Law, Franklin, TN; Emily Hodge and husband, Brandon, Hendersonville, TN and Nathaniel Law and wife, Katy, Sanford, FL;
8 great grandchildren: Graham, Campbell and Hayden Hodge; Delaney and Garrett Law; Luke, Allison and Sarah Davis.
She was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Everett Emons Taylor and Willie Hoy Taylor and a son-in-law: Rev. Earl Davis.

Funeral services for Lola Dean Taylor Law will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2008 at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Ausbrooks, Bro. Tommy Flood and Tim Davis officiating and burial in Mt. Olive cemetery. Visitation will be after 2:00 Tuesday at Goad Funeral Home.

Ann McIntyre Spears, 66, of Scottsville, Ky died at 7:23 A.M. Thursday, January 1, 2009 at Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital in Bowling Green, Ky. The Allen County, Ky native was a retired employee of General Electric and A.O. Smith and member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Euwin B. McIntyre and Theresa Amanda Tracy McIntyre.

She is survived by her Husband: Darnell Spears, Scottsville, Ky;
1 Son: Don Paul Stovall, Scottsville, Ky;
1 Daughter: Robin Herrington and husband, Steven, Scottsville, Ky;
1 Step Son: John A. Spears, Scottsville, Ky;
1 Daughter-in-Law: Tammy Stovall, Scottsville, Ky;
4 Grandchildren: Tyler Stovall, Brilee Stovall, Parker Stovall and Paul Herrington, all of Scottsville, Ky;

Kenneth H. Stinson

Kenneth H. Stinson, 87, of Scottsville, Ky died at 3:33 P.M. Thursday, January 1, 2009 at the Cal Turner Extended Care Facility. The Allen County, Ky native was a retired construction worker, farmer, an avid ginseng digger, gardener and fisherman, a World War II U.S. Army Veteran and member of Labor Union Local 661. He was a son of the late Hurston Stinson and Rosa Carter Stinson.

He is survived by 2 Sons: Gary Stinson and wife, Carol; Tony Stinson and wife, Linda, all of Scottsville, Ky;
1 Brother: Noble Stinson and wife, Liza Mae, Scottsville, Ky;
1 Sister-in-Law: LaVoice Caldwell, Scottsville, Ky;
3 Grandchildren: Trent Stinson and Matthew Stinson, both of Scottsville, Ky;
Amanda Meador and husband, Jeremy, Westmoreland, Tn;
7 Great Grandchildren: Landon Stinson, Tucker Stinson, Cameron Meador, Carson Meador, Taylor Stinson, Tate Stinson and Tanner Stinson and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 1 Grandson: Michael Chad Stinson.

Funeral services for Kenneth H. Stinson will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 3, 2009 at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Elvis Farley officiating and burial in Allen County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 12:Noon Friday at Goad Funeral Home.

Dorothy McIver Murphy, 87, of Scottsville, Ky died at 4:45 P.M. Sunday, December 28, 2008 at the Medical Center at Scottsville. The Allen County, Ky native was a homemaker and a daughter of the late Prentice Harrison McIver and Aria Elizabeth Richardson McIver and wife of the late Charles T. Murphy.

She is survived by 1 Son: Tommy Murphy and wife, Patty, St. Petersburg, Fl;
2 Daughters: Judith Jenkins and husband, Bob, Scottsville, Ky; Venell Turner, North Vernon, In;
1 Step Son: Dennis Michael Murphy, Etowah, Tn;
3 Brothers: Kenneth McIver, Indianapolis, In; Larry McIver and Alvin McIver, both of Louisville, Ky;
2 Sisters: Ruth Amick and Mabel McGuffey, both of Indianapolis, In;
6 Grandchildren: Rocky Turner, Darren Turner, Dewayne Turner, Shana Richards, Cassidy Murphy and Madison Murphy;
6 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Granddaughter and 6 Step Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 8 Brothers and 4 Sisters.

Funeral services for Dorothy McIver Murphy will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at Goad Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Carmichael officiating and burial in Clifton cemetery. Visitation will be after 12:Noon Tuesday at Goad Funeral Home.

Mae Carver "Mammie" Perry

Mae Carver “Mammie” Perry, 85, of Scottsville, KY died at 3:20 a.m. Thursday, December 25, 2008 at the Medical Center at Scottsville. The Scottsville, KY native was a retired employee of Washington Overall Manufacturing and a Baptist. After retiring she began babysitting, and during her career she kept a total of 81 children. She was a daughter of the late Harry Neal Medley and Nettie Brooks Medley.

She is survived by 1 son: Alan Carver and wife, Nicki, Scottsville, KY;
2 daughters: Karen Witcher, Scottsville, KY and Joyce Carver, Frankfort, KY;
4 grandchildren: Jason Witcher and wife, Vickie; Kent Shockley, Tim Shockley and Aylee Carver;
9 great grandchildren: Christina, Brandon, Brittany, Summer, Cameron, Landon, Hardon, Jordan and Dalson.
She was preceded in death by 1 sister: Peggy Milan; 1 brother: J. D. Medley and 1 grandson: Christopher Kent Shockley.

The Sumner County, TN native was a homemaker and former employee of Washington Overall Manufacturing and Kentucky Apparel. She was a daughter of the late Lawrence Albert Rippy and Dovie Mae Meador Rippy and wife of the late Ottis Eugene “Jelly” Petty, Sr.

She is survived by 2 sons: Michael Allen Petty and wife, Kaye; Ottis Eugene Petty, Jr. and wife, Gail;
2 daughters: Shelia Gail Crowder and husband, Danny and Robin Michelle Petty, all of Scottsville, KY;
2 sisters: Dorothy Hardcastle, Scottsville, KY and Shirley Devers, Palatka, FL;
8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 1 brother: Jimmy Rippy.

He was a son of the late Wordney Austin Davis and Vera Myrtle Graves Davis.
