Rex Gray

October 16, 1909 - July 3, 2008

Rex Gray, 98, Glasgow, died Thursday, July 03, 2008, at the NHC Health Care Center. A native of Cumberland County, he was a son of the late Lydia Tooley and Albert Daniel Gray. He moved his family to Barren County in 1946, was a lifelong farmer and a member of the Coral Hill Church of Christ.

Survivors include one son, Billy W. Gray and wife, Tommie, of Glasgow; one daughter, Wanda L. Gentry and husband, Howard, of Glasgow; 9 grandchildren, David Alexander, Michael Alexander, Linda Ackridge and Sherry Jenkinson all of Lafayette, IN, Barry Gray of Liberty, IN, Dana Bailey of Glasgow, Tony Gentry and Tim Gentry both of Winder, GA, and Joan Anderson of Portland, OR; 19 great- grandchildren; 14 great- great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Garner Gray; one daughter, Betty M. Alexander and her husband, Charles; one brother, Worth Gray; three sisters, Flo Courtney, Rhea Mackey and Lone Fondice.

Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2008, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Lisa Miranda Hardin

April 10, 1988 - October 8, 2003

Lisa Miranda Hardin, 15, Old Munfordville Road , Cave City , died Wednesday at University Hospital in Louisville as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was a student at Barren County High School .

Survivors include her parents, Joe and Sharon Hardin of Cave City ; one sister, Teresa Biller of Jeffersontown ; one brother, Joe Hardin of Jeffersontown ; her paternal grandmother, Nora A. Hardin of Glasgow; her maternal grandfather, Owen Barr of New Castle, KY; seven aunts and uncles, Sandy Wright and Ronnie Barr of Bedford, KY, Betty Claywell and Larry Hardin of Summer Shade, Patricia Schroerlucke and Judy Workman of Louisville, Connie Hart of Glasgow; several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Beulah Barr and her paternal grandfather, Alton Hardin.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery . Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Willard E. Ennis

October 17, 1946 - October 28, 2006

Willard E. Ennis, 60, Tracy Road, Scottsville, died Saturday, October 28, 2006, at his residence. He was a machinist at A.O. Smith and a member of the Gallatin Road Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley; four sons, Daniel Ennis and wife, Chandra, and Joel Ennis and wife, Michelle, all of Lawrenceburg, KY, Toby Ennis and wife, Susan, of Colorado Springs, and Jerry Ennis and wife, Tammy of Holland, KY; two daughters, Sherry Morgan and husband, Chris, of Lawrenceburg, and Kathy Willingham of Scottsville; 10 grandchildren, Logan, Haley, Kaitlin, Adam, Brianna, Dakota, Gracie, Ashley, Ricky and Ashley; his mother, Josephine Pearson of Campbellsville; four sisters, Mary Jolly and husband, Guy, Martha Bertram and husband, Phil, Sharon Beams and husband, Terry, and Sue Tims; one brother, Charles Ennis; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Ennis.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 31, 2006, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Mayfield cemetery. Friends may call after 5:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Grace Mitchell Delk

Grace Mitchell Delk, 90, of Lake Wales, Fl., died November 30,2001 at 9225 Oakwood Drive, Lake Wales, FL.

Mrs. Delk was a native of Allen County, Kentucky and moved to Lake Wales from Bowling Green, Ky. 3 years ago. Mrs. Delk was a self employed beautician, youth volunteer and faithful lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 61 years. She taught Sunday school at the Glasgow Baptist Church in Glasgow, Kentucky and was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Lake Wales, Fl. She was a Foster Grandparent in Bowling Green, Ky. She was a dutiful wife and mother.

She is survived by two children: Ronald Delk of Lake Wales, Fl. And William Delk of Glasgow, Ky.; four grandchildren: Travis Delk of Ft. Bragg, NC, David Delk of Lake Wale, FL, Steven Delk and Wanda London of Glasgow; one brother: Kenneth Mitchell of El Paso, Tx.

Funeral Services will be at the Trinity Baptist Church in Lake Wales Fl. At 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 4, 2001. Graveside Service will held at the Glasgow Municipal cemetery ,Friday, December 7, 2001 at 2:30 P.M. Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Maggie Elizabeth Harper

June 17, 1935 - March 10, 2004

Maggie Elizabeth Chaney Harper, Horse Cave , 68, died Wednesday, March 10, 2004 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital . She was the daughter of the late Luther F. Chaney and Annis Tarry Chaney and a member of the Rock Springs Baptist Church .

She is survived by three sons: Thomas Lile and his wife Joann of Horse Cave, KY, Larry Lile and his wife Elaine of Enterprise, AL and Timothy Lile and his wife Gail of Hiseville; one daughter: Brenda Lile Morris and her husband Ron of Horse Cave, KY; nine grandchildren: Corey Lile and his wife Becky of Brentwood, TN, Christopher Lile and his wife Bridgett of Winchester, KY, Steven Lile of Horse Cave, KY, Emily Lile Duval and her husband Scott of Bowling Green, KY, Sarah Lile of Enterprise, AL, Randy Lile of Enterprise, AL, Megan Lile of Hiseville, KY, Heather Lile of Hiseville, KY and Cynthia Morris of Horse Cave, KY; four great grandchildren: Sam Lile, Taylor Lile, Hannah Lile and Andrew Lile.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one brother: Thomas Chaney.

Funeral will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Houk cemetery . Visitation will be after 4:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.

Brenda High

March 24, 1945 - April 28, 2003

Brenda Ann High, 58, formerly of Glasgow, died Monday at her residence in Bowling Green. A native of Barren County, she was the daughter of the late Carlos and Anna Pearl Sims High. She was an avid golfer, a member of the Ladies’ Professional Golf Association Tour and a stained glass artisan.

Survivors include her long- time companion, Pauline G. Jones of Bowling Green; two aunts, Runnell Clay of Hodgenville and “Mac” Sims of Indiana; one uncle, Hugh Sims of Indiana; several cousins.

Visitation will be from 1- 3 p.m. Wednesday at the J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel in Bowling Green with a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, Glasgow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Kentucky.

Danny Eugene Gooden

February 21, 1950 - October 25, 2001

Danny Eugene Gooden, 51, of Bon Ayr died Thursday, October 25, 2001 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was the son of Porter Gooden, Jr. and Stella R. Saltsman Gooden of Bon Ayr. He worked in the Bindery at Fetter Printing Company in Louisville, KY. and a member of the Big Meadow Baptist Church.

Besides his parents he is survived by one son: Danny D. Gooden and his wife Cynthia Beth of Cave City; two daughters: Katrina Hazelwood and her husband Frank of Louisville and Kendra Scott of Glasgow; Six grandchildren: Lindsay Gooden, Kyle Gooden, Mason Gooden, Kalista Hazelwood, Zackary Scott and Brooklyn Ramsey; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the Big Meadow Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be after 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.

Jeff Delk

October 5, 1966 - January 15, 2004

Jeffrey Wayne Delk, 37, Glasgow , died Thursday, January 15, 2004 , at the Medical Center at Bowling Green . A native of Glasgow , he was a son of the late Philip M. Delk and Lela Mae Boone Delk, who survives. He was a Kentucky Colonel and an avid UK fan.

Other survivors include three brother, Muncie Delk and his wife, Patricia of Glasgow; James L. Delk of Bowling Green ; Larry W. Delk and his wife, Cathy, of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews, including Rita Walden, Philip Lewis Delk, Scott Delk and Kim Delk; and a special great- nephew, Dakota Walden and one great niece, Gracie Delk.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 18, 2004, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 12 noon Saturday at the funeral home.

Lela Mae Delk

March 21, 1920 - July 22, 2008

Lela Mae Delk, 88, Glasgow, died Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. She was a daughter of the late Lester and Vera McAdams Boone and the widow of the late Philip M. Delk.

Survivors include three sons, Muncie Delk and wife, Patricia, and James L. Delk of Glasgow and Larry Delk and wife, Cathy, of Austin; three grandchildren, Rita Walden, Philip L. Delk and Kim Delk all of Glasgow; three great- grandchildren, Dakota Walden, Gracie Delk and Jacob Delk; one sister, Marie Elmore of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey Wayne Delk; one grandson, James Anthony Delk; four sisters, Margie Meek, Juanita Broadus, Eva Ritter and Edith Hope; one brother, George Daniel Boone.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2008, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Gurtie E. Gray

Gurtie E. Gray, 88, of Glasgow died Wednesday, March 07, 2001 at the Glenview Health Care Center. She was the daughter of the late John William and Eula Fields and the wife of the late Dollie Gray. She was a member of the Hillside Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her brothers and sisters: Vallie England of Glasgow; Viola Oaks of Columbus, IN; Mable Cash of Summer Shade; Velma Davis of Columbus, IN; Ruby Starr and her husband William of Glasgow; Dorothy Davis of Columbus, IN; Nettie Jessie of Columbus, IN and William Fields, Jr. and his wife Mary of Columbus, IN. Also several nieces and nephews survive.

Funeral service will be 2:00 P. M. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Big Meadow cemetery. Friends may call after 3:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.

Philip M. Delk

Philip M Delk age 79 of Franklin Street Glasgow died Monday January 28, 2002 at the Veterans Hospital in Louisville. He was a retired Electrician, a veteran of World War ll and a member of the East Main Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife: Lela Mae Boone Delk. Four Sons: Muncie Delk of Glasgow, James L. Delk of Bowling Green, Larry W. Delk of Cooktown and Jeffrey W. Delk of Glasgow. Four Grandchildren and two Great Grandchildren.

Funeral will be 2:00 PM Thursday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery with full military honors provided by Glasgow DAV Chapter # 20. Friends may call after 3:30 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
