Philip Edward Gassaway

January 1, 1940 - June 04, 2004

Philip Edward Gassaway, 64 of Valley Station , Kentucky died Friday, June 4 2004 at this home. Mr. Gassaway was a owner operator truck driver, an Army veteran and a member of Miles Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his wife Betty; one son: Gregory and his wife Genia Gassaway of Shepardsville; one daughter: Buffy and her husband Shad Daubard of Shepardsville; his mother: Alene Gassaway of Knob Lick; one sister: Frances and her husband Thomas Royce of Knob Lick; one brother: Wayne Gassaway of Smithville Tennessee; three grandchildren: Alexandria, Dalton and Morgan; two nieces: Connie McCoy and Leisa Shirley; one nephew: Kelly Gassaway.

He was preceded in death by his father: Harry Gassaway and one grandson Alexander Gassaway.

Graveside services will be 12:00 noon Monday, June 7 at the New Liberty cemetery . Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday at the Hardy Funeral in Louisville , KY. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.

Della Denton

February 2, 1919 - March 12, 2005

Della Denton, 86, Bryan Street, Glasgow, died Saturday, March 12, 2005, at her residence. A native of Moss, TN, she was a daughter of the late Illow and Elizabeth Shaw Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of the South Green Street Church of Christ.

Survivors include one daughter, Peggy Dean Adwell and husband, Willie Jo, of Glasgow; one son, Fred E. Denton and wife, Marie, of Bowling Green; one grandson, Jeff Denton and wife, Selena, of Horse Cave; two great- grandsons, Aaron Jeffery “A.J.” Denton and Eric Benjamin Denton of Horse Cave; five step- grandchildren, Larry Burch and wife, Sharon, Michael Anthony Burch, Linda Jackson and husband, Doug, Christopher Elrod and Michelle Taylor; two sisters, Bassie Flemming and Ilene Cherry of Red Boiling Springs; two brothers, Dalice Smith and Preston Smith of Smiths Grove; special friends, Dee Dee Durham and Ethan Durham; 11 step- great grandchildren; 5 step- great- great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Denton; three sons, Aaron H. Denton, Clifton Eugene Denton and Clifford Harlan Denton; 7 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Bon Ayr cemetery. Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Jesse C. Froggett

March 21, 1956 - June 25, 2008

Jesse C. Froggett, 52, Glasgow, died Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at his residence. A son of the late Cassie Rich and William “Billy” Froggett, he was an employee of Dana Corporation and a member of the Hiseville Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Micki; one daughter, Amanda Norris and husband, Rodney, of Glasgow; one son, Greg Froggett of Louisville; one granddaughter, Addyson Norris; two brothers, John Froggett and wife, Mickey, of Glasgow, and Bill Froggett of Knob Lick; maternal grandmother, Flarence Rich of Knob Lick; his mother- in- law, Betty Weaver of Horse Cave; one brother- in- law, Ron Schultz of Lucas.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Schultz; maternal grandfather, Bennett Rich; paternal grandparents, Clarage and Lula Mae Froggett; and his father- in- law, B. H. Weaver.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 28, 2008, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society or T. J. Samson Hospice.

Frank Webb Garrett

Frank Webb Garrett, 63, a resident of Harper’s Rest Home in Edmonton, KY, died Thursday, April 19, 2001 at the Glasgow Heath and Rehabilitation Center in Glasgow. He was the son of the late Frank Garrett, Sr. and Rosie Raines Garrett.

He is survived by two daughters: Della Vaughn and her husband Luther, Karen Sims both of Glasgow; One brother: Claude Garrett of IN; One sister: Anna Lee Wray of Glasgow. One grandchild Caleb Vaughn. Also several nieces and nephews survive.

Funeral will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.

William F. Denton

January 2, 1917 - July 20, 2005

William F. Denton, 88, of Glasgow died Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at his residence. He was the son of the late L. R. Denton and Ora Gray Denton. He was retired from Coca Cola in Glasgow, a Navy veteran of WWII where he served aboard the USS Bristol, and a member of the Oak Grove United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years: Verna Denton; one brother: Clyde Denton of Bowling Green; six nephews: Gregory Moore, Glen Mooore, James H. Denton L. R. Denton, Jr., Maurice Denton and David Denton; four nieces: Serena Haynes, Ginger Nichols, Gina Moore and Rebecca Gabehart. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Murrell Denton, Curtis Denton and A. R. Denton; one sister: Clara Hardison.

Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Friday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Burial, with military honors provided by Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV, will be in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Visitation will be after 3:00 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Dianna Hughes

September 21, 1944 - June 30, 2008

Dianna Hughes, 63, of Glasgow passed away Monday, June 30, 2008, at the Glasgow Health and Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy battle with cancer.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Garmon of Glasgow; her son Ricky Dale Garmon and his wife Misty of Bowling Green. Two grandchildren, Timmy Hudgins and Mary Katherine Garmon. Two sisters, Ruby Hughes and Carolyn Bennett both of Glasgow. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Dillard and Florence Hughes, a sister Lorraine Jessie, a brother Junior (Red) Hughes, a nephew Danny Jackson, and a niece Angela Bennett.

Funeral will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 3, 2008 at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral. Visitation will be after 12:00 noon Wednesday at the funeral home. While flowers are welcomed, alternative expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to the T.J. Sampson Hospice Program, 1301 North Race Street, Glasgow, KY 42141. ATTN: Colleen Ewing.

Caroline Michelle Grohman

February 3, 1971 - September 2, 2001

Caroline Michelle Grohman, 30, Embark Court, Glasgow, died Sunday as a result of an automobile accident. She was an LPN at Britthaven in Bowling Green and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Byron Grohman; four daughters, Danielle Milton of Glasgow, Tammi Boyer of St. Louis, Bethany Grohman of Ft. Worth and Krystal Grohman of St. Louis; one granddaughter, Brooke Boyer; her parents, Larry and Lavenia Harrop Howard of Indianapolis; one sister, Gina Kemp and one brother, Larry Howard both of Indianapolis; grandparents, Harold and Geneva Harrop of Edmonton and Caroline Thomas of Glasgow; three nieces, Lela- Ann Kemp, Cheyenne Watson and Shawnee Watson; three nephews, Shawn Kemp, Jackob Howard and Dakota Warren; her ex- husband, Michael Milton.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Metcalfe County Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Robert Thomas Depp

July 19, 1903 - February 11, 2004

R. T. "Tom" Depp - Age 100. Born July 19,1903 in Kino, Kentucky and died February 11, 2004 . He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty years, Anita Price Depp. He was the son of the late, C.Y. Depp and Addie Dougherty Depp. Mr. Depp was a member of First Christian Church, Glasgow.

Previously he was a resident of Edinburgh , Indiana where he was a long time employee of Amos Thompson Corporation and also served as Justice of the Peace for Blue River Township . He was an active member of the Lions Club and the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include son and daughter- in- law Dick and Judy Depp of Columbus , Indiana ; son and daughter- in- law Bill and Barbara Depp of Brentwood , Tennessee ; grandson, Brian Depp of Indianapolis , Indiana ; granddaughters, Natalie Stott of Columbus , Indiana , Susan Druckenmiller of Auburn , Alabama , Amy LaLance of Murfreesboro , Tennessee ; and six great- grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 15, at 1:30 pm at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home in Glasgow with James McLean officiating. Interment will follow at Glasgow Municipal cemetery . Brian Depp, Chuck LaLance, Dan Druckenmiller, Chris Edmunds, David Depp and Bob Mulligan will serve as Active Pall Bearers. Honorary Pall Bearers include Bud Ellison, Fred Coy, Doug Depp, members of the Combs- Dickinson Sunday School Class and friends from the Highland Ridge Assisted Living Facility.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral from 2:00 - 6:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to First Christian Church Building Fund, 1100 North Race Street , Glasgow , Kentucky 42141 .

Jane E. Devine

February 6, 1944 - February 23, 2008

Jane Elizabeth Devine, 64, Rocky Hill, died Saturday, February 23, 2008, at the Medical Center at Bowling Green. She is the daughter of Anna Logsdon Durbin of Sunfish and the late Estil John Drubin. She was a retired LPN from the T. J. Samson Community Hospital where she had worked for 30 years.

Besides her mother she is survived by three children: Travis Turner Devine and his wife Debbie of Merry Oakes, Cathy Anne York and her husband Louie of Glasgow and Chris John Devine and his wife Kathy of Rocky Hill; one grandchild: Becky Anne York and her fiancé Jeffery Wooten of Glasgow; one step grandchild: Ashley Michelle Russell of Glasgow; two great step grandchildren: Malayka Grace Russell and Kelsey Jameson Russell of Glasgow; six brothers: Steve Durbin and his wife Pam of Sunfish, KY., Ray Durbin and his wife Debbie of Sunfish, KY., Dennis Durbin and his wife Sheila of Sunfish, KY., Joe Durbin and his wife Marjean of Chalybeate, KY., Harold Durbin of Yucaipa, CA. and Pat Durbin and his wife Tyra of Bowling Green, KY., four sisters: Mary Lou Wilson and her husband Randall of Sunfish, KY., Paula Wilson and her husband Estil of Sunfish, Ky., Margaret Mathias and her husband Steve of Old Hickory, TN. And Carolyn Simon and her husband Don of Bowling Green, KY.; Special thanks to her nephew Johnny Devine; Her faithful companion Bet, her dog.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph William Devine.

Funeral will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Poplar Log cemetery. Visitation will be after 2:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.

Allie Jeanette Gardner

May 13, 1938 - July 8, 2005

Allie Jeanette Gardner, 67, Murray, and a former resident of Louisville, died Friday, July 8, 2005, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. A native of Barren County, she was a daughter of the late Floyd and Mattie Thomas Anderson. She was a retired manager of Housekeeping and Grounds for Jefferson County Schools.

Survivors include her companion who loved and cared for her, Tom Hale of Murray; one daughter, Tammy Susan Kinslow of Ft. Myers, FL; one sister, Hazel Earls of Louisville; two brothers, Benny Anderson and Garnett Anderson both of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Gary T. Kinslow.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Jessie R. Hagan

December 28, 1925 - December 9, 2002

Jessie R. ( J.R.) Hagan, 76, Griderville, died Monday at his residence. A son of the late George Willard and Nell Smith Hagan, he was a retired mechanic and a veteran of WWII, having served with the United States Navy at Pearl Harbor.

Survivors include his wife, Katherine; three children, Patricia, Diane and Richard; three step-children, Donnie Johnson, Shirley Vowell and Janice Manning; one brother, Charles “Bill” Hagan and his wife, Kathline, of Glasgow; three sisters, Frances Karnes and her husband, Jimmy, of Three Springs, Annie Pearl Blankenship and her husband, Clay, of London, Linda Lee Poynter and her husband, Floyd, of Horse Cave; several grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great- great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A sister, Marie Mills, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville cemetery. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
