Helen Bishop Gassaway

February 9, 1913 - October 15, 2001

Helen Bishop Gassaway, 88, Dripping Springs Road, Glasgow, died Monday at the Medco Center in Bowling Green. A daughter of the late Taylor and Retta Lawrence Bishop, she was a retired supervisor at Kentucky Pants Co. in Glasgow, a member of the Browder's Chapel Baptist Church and the widow of the late Charlie G. Gassaway.

Survivors include two daughters, Charline Bowles of Glasgow and Mary Kathryn Minyard and her husband, Roger of Bowling Green; four grandchildren, Bobby Anderson, Jr. and Scott Anderson both of Glasgow, Denise Cornelius and Renee' Minyard both of Bowling Green; three great- grandchildren, Wesley Anderson of Bowling Green, Chelsea Anderson and Dalton Anderson both of Glasgow; four sisters, Jennie B. Ross of Glasgow, Brenda Miracle of Detroit, Caroline Johnson and Patricia Ewing both of Louisville; two brothers, Mitchell Bishop of Louisville and Leroy Bishop of Ft. Myers, FL.; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Mead Bishop, Romie Bishop, Ottis Bishop and Marchel Bishop.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 6:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

John Raymond Eudy

March 24, 1932 - September 16, 2001

John Raymond Eudy age 69 of the Coral Hill Halfway Road Glasgow died Sunday, September 16, 2001 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was the son of the late James Henry Eudy and Lou Etta Pardue Eudy. He was a member of the Brotherhood Freewill Baptist Church and owner operator of the Eudy Garage.

He is survived by his wife Laverne Eudy; three sons: John Eudy and his wife Linda of Glasgow, Gary Eudy and his wife Lisa of Glasgow and Jerry Eudy of Glasgow; one daughter: Debra Perkins and her husband Ricky of Edmonton; two brothers: L. P. Eudy of Glasgow and Lawrence Eudy of Glasgow; one sister: Murel Bailey of Knob Lick. Six grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Eudy; two brothers: Sam Eudy and William “Bill” Eudy; one sister: Irene Glass.

Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral with burial in the Graves cemetery. Friends may call after 4:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.

Sarah Marie Hunter

February 11, 2003 - July 14, 2004

Sarah Marie Hunter, age 17 months, Poplar School Road , Glasgow , died Wednesday, July 14, 2004 , at her residence.

Survivors are her mother, Amanda Joan Hunter of Glasgow ; her father, Paul Edward Cross of Hodgenville; one brother, Christopher James Cross of Glasgow ; maternal grandmother, Connie Adkins; maternal grandfather, Jeff Thomas of Glasgow ; paternal grandparents, Tony and Wendy Cross of Bowling Green ; maternal great- grandparents, Stella and Jimmy Bray of Glasgow .

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 17, 2004 , at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Visitation will be after 12 noon Saturday at the funeral home.

Margaret Turner Esters

July 30, 1920 - February 2, 2004

Margaret Turner Esters, 83, of Glasgow , died Monday, February 02, 2004 at the Barren County Health Care Center. She was the daughter of the late Odell Best and Ollie Brown Best. She was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include six daughters: Helen Spears and her husband Paul of Glasgow, Nancy Bennett and her husband Myrl of Horse Cave, Marie Owens and her husband Robert of Smiths Grove, Wanda Davis of Glasgow, Betty Hare and her husband Carroll of Glasgow and Diane Phelps and her husband Jimmy of Edmonton; two sons: Raymond Joe Turner and his wife Melinda of Glasgow and Larry W. Turner and his wife Clara of Hiseville; one sister: Mary Ellen Rowlette of Knox, IN; eighteen grandchildren, two step- grandchildren; twenty seven Great- Grandchildren, one step- great- grandchild, eight great- great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two husbands: Bransford “Brent” Turner and Owen Esters; two daughters: Rhonda Turner and Margaret Turner; one grandson: Scott Hare; one great- grandson: Gregory Neal Lane ; one brother: Manley Best and one sister: Lucy Olson.

Funeral will be 11:00 A. M. Thursday at the Rock Springs Baptist Church with burial in the Marrowbone cemetery . Visitation will be after 12:00 noon on Wednesday at the Hatcher and Saddler Funeral Home and from 7:00 A.M. to 8:00 A.M. Thursday at the funeral and after 9:00 A.M. at the Rock Springs Baptist Church .

Lucy J. Ervin

June 19, 1909 - July 10, 2005

Lucy June Ervin, 96, Glasgow, died Sunday, July 10, 2005, at Britthaven in Bowling Green. A native of Cumberland County, she was the daughter of the late Mary Ann Ballard and Tillman Wesley Spears. She was a homemaker and a member of the Marrowbone Church of Christ.

Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Martin and her husband, Jerry, of Bowling Green; one step- son, Kenneth Ervin and his wife, Bera, of Odessa, FL; three grandchildren; nine step- grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; twenty- two step- great- grandchildren; seven step- great- great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Brooks Ervin and three step- children, Max Ervin, Donald Ervin and Beatrice Grider.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2005, at the Pink Ridge cemetery in Metcalfe County. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.

Mildred Jessee Fudge

October 2, 1918 - May 31, 2004

Mildred Jessee Fudge, 85, Glasgow , died Monday, May 31, 2004 , at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital . A native of Adair County , she was the daughter of the late George and Coolie Janes Jessee, a homemaker and a member of the Glasgow Bible Church .

Survivors include two children, Gerald Fudge and his wife, Mary Lea, of Atlanta , and Faye Norris of Glasgow ; four grandchildren, Melanie Fudge, Karen Lowe, Jeff Norris and Kevin Norris; two great- grandchildren; two step- great- grandchildren; one step- great- great- grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hershell Fudge.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 4, 2004, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

James Richard Franklin

1938- 2001

James Richard Franklin, 63, of McKenna Street died Monday, May 07, 2001 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was the son of the late Iland Franklin and Bessie Hagan Franklin. He attended Grider Memorial Baptist Church.

He is survived by three daughters: Teresa Zabaloui of Glasgow, Pam Francis of Bowling Green, KY and Kathy of Columbus, IN; Five sisters: Virginia England, Evelyn Barton, Katherine Morgan, Lora Monroe and Barbara Poteet. Seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Murrell Franklin, Garnett Franklin and Thomas Franklin.

Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 5:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.

Virginia England

November 20, 1927 - July 2, 2008

Virginia Lee Franklin England, 80, of Glasgow, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2008. She was the daughter of the late Iland Lee Franklin and Bessie Rural Hagan Franklin. She was a member of the Grider Memorial Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons: Kenneth England of Austin, KY and Gene England of Scottsville, KY; one daughter: Brenda P. Shockley of Glasgow; eight grandchildren: Chad Shockley, Jeny Spencer, Charlie England, Jarrod England, Brian England, Shannon England, Wayne England and Jeff England; Fifteen great grandchildren; three sisters: Evelyn Barton Bewley, Barbara Poteet and Katherine Morgan.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: David Allen England; two sons: Charles D. England and Jerry L. England; one grandson: Jason England; four brothers and one sister.

Funeral will be 11:00 A.M. Friday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Visitation will be after 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Community Medical Care 1304B North Race Street, Glasgow, KY 42141.

Raymond Edward Huff

Ausgut 23, 1945 - August 6, 2003

Raymond Edward Huff, 57, of Glasgow died Wednesday, August 06, 2003. He was the son of the late Willie Chester Huff and Madeline Jones Huff.

He is survived by his children: Mary Wooten of BonAyr, Charlie Edward Huff of Summer Shade, Lula Bell Jaggers of Temple Hill, Janie Huff of Summer Shade, Hester Madeline Lee Huff of Cave City and Linda Gail Smith of Park City: Five Grandchildren; Two brothers: Bobby and Steve Huff of Glasgow, Two sisters: Barbara Jean Graham and Ann Huff of Glasgow. He was preceded in death by one son, Randall Allen Huff, one brother, Allen Huff and one sister, Sue Ragel.

Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Friday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Lick Branch cemetery. Visitation will be after 11:00 A. M. Thursday at the funeral home.

Michael D. Edwards

August 13, 1967 - August 08, 2004

Michael D. Edwards, 36, of Glasgow died Sunday, August 08, 2004 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green .

He is survived by his mother: Sue Houchens Stamper of Glasgow ; one sister: Deborah Jones of Glasgow and nine nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Euel W. Houchens and Ruby Houchens Bowles.

Funeral will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Etoile cemetery. Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
