Margarine “Margie” Greene, 60, of Glasgow died Tuesday, August 27, 2002 as the result of an automobile accident. She was the daughter of the late James S. Martin and Lucille Christie Martin.
She is survived by her husband: Jimmie Greene; Two Sons: Freddie Dugard and Elmer Dugard both of Glasgow; One daughter: Prescilla Dugard of Oceanside California; Two step- sons: Brian Greene of Clarksville, Tennessee and Chad Greene of Glasgow; Two step- daughters: Jackie Wilkinson and Jennifer Payne both of Glasgow; Seventeen Grandchildren: Jamie Dugard, Kyle Dugard, Mikayla Dugard, Sydney Dugard, Cole Dugard, Angie McNiff, Patrick McNiff, Donovan McNiff, Mara McNiff, Eilise Rose McNiff, Britney Wilkinson, Cole Wilkinson, Garrett Payne, Sabrina Greene, Jordan Greene, Shandie Greene and Haley Greene; One brother: James D. Martin of Glasgow; Three sisters: Barbara Gearlds of Glasgow, Linda Ballard of Etoile and Ann Carter of Glasgow. She was preceded in death by one sister: Betty Harrison.
Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the New Salem cemetery. Friends may call after 5:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
Thelma L. Foster
March 18, 1918 - June 29, 2002
Thelma Litsey Foster, 84, Glasgow, died Saturday, June 29, 2002, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital after a brief illness. A native of Leitchfield, KY, she was a daughter of the late Lonnie and Ivy Carter Litsey. She was a homemaker and a retired sales clerk at Lerman Bros. Department Store in Glasgow, a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church and Glasgow Chapter 257 of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas; one daughter, Jane Lyons and her husband, Dale of Elizabethtown; two grandchildren, Chuck Lyons of Louisville and Dala Louthan of Hodgenville; two great- grandchildren, Kellie and Austin Louthan; one sister- in- law, Kathleen Litsey of Louisville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville cemetery. Visitation will be from 4- 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Betty Grooms
October 28, 1935 - August 27, 2002
Betty Jane Grooms, 66, formerly of Glasgow, died Tuesday in Lagrange. She had been a resident of Homestead Nursing Facility in Newcastle for the past three years. She was a daughter of the late Daisy Marie Carlson and Evermond Thomas Grooms and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include three sisters, Beulah Jean Sater of Jeffersonville, IN., Virginia Thomas of Glasgow and Linda Baxter of Campbellsville; two brothers, Paul Grooms of Jeffersonville and Sammy Grooms of Peuwaukie, WI; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Nell Mosier, Jewell Wood, Joanna Smith and Edith Norman.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Kenneth Devine
February 19, 1966 - July 15, 2008
Kenneth Raymond Devine, 42, Glasgow, died Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at his residence. A native of Glasgow, he was a son of Donald Hugh Devine and the late Carol Maxine Brown Devine. He was currently employed at Goodman Automotive in Glasgow.
In addition to his father, survivors include his wife, Mary; three daughters, Samantha Lynn Devine, Kimberly Marie Devine and Carol Maxine Devine; one brother, Thomas Alan Devine and his wife, Sue Ann, of Owensboro; one aunt, Kay Bennett of Elizabethtown; one uncle, Neal Bennett of Raywick, KY.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2008, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Mt. Pleasant cemetery. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Barren County High School Marching Band.
Patricia "Pat" Haynes
02/28/1910 - 02/13/2001
Patricia “Pat” Haynes, 90, Cleveland Avenue, Glasgow, died Tuesday at the T.J. Samson Community Hospital. She was a daughter of the late Michael and Mary Sullivan McParland and the widow of the late Durwood Haynes. She was a retired executive secretary, having worked for James N. Gray, Carroll Knicely and W.D. “Jigger” Aspley. She was a member of St. Helen’s Catholic Church, where she had also spent a great deal of time in volunteer work, and had been very active with the local AARP group.
Survivors include two sons, James Patrick Haynes of Glasgow and Jerre Kevin Haynes and his wife, Linda of Flossmoor, Illinois; five grandchildren, Julianna Heaton and Jill Kristin Haynes both of Knoxville, Meredith Haynes, Nathan Haynes and Lauren Haynes all of Chicago; one great grandson, Eli Heaton of Knoxville. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters, including Rita McParland of Glasgow.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday at St. Helen’s Catholic Church with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Visitation will be from 4- 8 p.m. Thursday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Wake service/Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Louise F. Houchen
Violet Louise “Nan Nan” Houchen, 84 of Glasgow, formerly of Austin, IN, died Thursday December 30, 2004 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Farris and Cecile Kemp Farris, and the wife of the late Cecil Franklin Houchen. She was a member of the Christian Church in Austin, IN since April 9, 1933; she had recently been attending the First Christian Church in Glasgow. A past Noble Grand of the Ida Rebekah Lodge #333, former member of the Eastern Star and Honorary member of Job’s Daughters. She worked at the Paris Style Dress Shop in Scottsburg, IN.
She is survived by her son: Terry Houchen and his wife Runell of Glasgow; her daughter Patricia Justice and her husband Oren of Ashland, KY; seven grandchildren: Sherri Kelly and her husband Donald, Don Houchen and his wife Lessa, Bryan Johnson and his wife Maria, Wes Johnson and his wife Karin, Karen Dickerson and her husband Steve, Jana Colter and her husband Ricky and Elaine Corbitt and her husband Steve; Ten Great- Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 3, 2004, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Visitation will be after 3:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral Home.
Joseph Herbert Everett, Sr.
July 28, 1920 - December 10, 2002
Joseph Herbert Everett, Sr., 82, Glasgow, died Tuesday at his residence. He was a son of the late Sarah Richey and Joseph William Everett. He was a retired long- haul trucker for Liquid Transport in Louisville and a veteran of WW II having served with the United States Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; three sons, James Everett and his wife, Karen, William Everett and his wife, Marilyn, all of Louisville, Joseph Everett of Glasgow; one daughter, Carol Johnson and her husband, Dennis, of Glasgow; two sisters, Frances Hammond of Glasgow and Betty Carver of Austin; eleven grandchildren; three great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Gary Everett, who lost his life while serving with the United States Air Force.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Graveside services, with military honors, will be held 3:00 p.m. EST Friday at the Highland Memory Garden in Mt. Washington. Visitation will be after 5:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Vernon D. Edwards
Vernon D. Edwards age 94 of Horse Cave died Monday February 4, 2002 at the Caverna Hospital in Horse Cave. He was the Son of the late Duvall and Matilda Alice Martin Edwards, the husband of the late Edna Mae Riley, a retired salesman for the Ford Furniture Company in Glasgow and a member of the Big Meadow Baptist Church.
He is survived by One Daughter: Jenene Shaw of Horse Cave. One Son: Kenneth Edwards of Radcliff. Four Grandchildren: Sherry Nunn of Glasgow, Michelle Eastman of Tennessee, Bradley Edwards of Radcliff and Chris Edwards of Indiana. Three Great Grandchildren: Jason Minor of Cave City, Chad Minor of Ill. And Adam Minor of Horse Cave.
Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Big Meadow Church with burial in the Big Meadow Church cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral.

Jewell D. “Sam” Harrison of Bowling Green, KY, 42, died Wednesday, December 26, 2001 at the Greenview Hospital in Bowling Green.
He is survived by his father: James D. Harrison and his wife Carolyn of Anderson County, KY; his mother: Ruth Smith of Bowling Green, Kentucky; one son: James D. Harrison of Bowling Green, Kentucky; one brother: Jerry “Tyger” Harrison of Lexington, Kentucky; one step- brother: Jeff Tinsley of Winchester, Kentucky. preceded in death by his wife Saundra Harrison.
Funeral will be 10:00 A. M. Friday, December 28, at the Free Bethel General Baptist Church in Cave City, Kentucky with burial in the Cave City cemetery. Visitation will be at the Free Bethel General Baptist Church from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday.

Roma Louise Tomes Deweese, 70, of Glasgow died Thursday, February 09, 2006 at the Bowling Green Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Willey Tomes and Clare Elizabeth Wheatley Tomes.
She is survived by two sons: Richard E. Deweese, Jr. and his wife Teresa of Bowling Green and Travis E. Deweese of Bowling Green; two daughters: Marilyn Ballard and her husband Sam and Linda Ballard and her husband Harold Ballard of Glasgow; Eight grandchildren: Scotty Ballard, Jennifer Ballard, Melissa Wheeler, Thompson Upton, Joshua Upton, Jonathan Ballard, Eric Graham and April Finn. Two brothers: Ronald Tomes, Sr. and his wife Lori of Bowling Green and Jessie Tomes and his wife Shirley of Glasgow; one sister: Edith Taylor of Bowling Green; sixteen great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Lena Mae Hodges

Lena Mae Hodges, 72, Sandwood Drive, Glasgow, died Wednesday at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Russell Alexander Mercer and Virginia Lee Hammer Mercer. She was a retired bookkeeper at Glasgow National Stores and a member of the Grider Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, James; one son, Steve Hodges and his wife, Kari, of Glasgow; one daughter, Brenda Imes and her husband, Kevin, of Cincinnati; three grandchildren, Daniel, Lindsey and Jesse. She was preceded in death by one son, David Allen Hodges.
