Wendell London

November 18, 1939 - January 14, 2008

Wendell London, 68, Hiseville, died Monday, January 14, 2008, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. A son of the late Ruby Jeffries and George Willis London, he was a retired employee of Houchen’s Markets and Eaton Axle. He was a member of the Rock Spring Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Sandra Hicks and husband, Tony, of Hiseville, Joanne London of Glasgow, and Susan Vaughn and husband, Scottie, of Hardyville; one son, Brian London and wife, Tammy, of Hiseville; adoptive daughter, Maria Bryant; four grandchildren, Andrew Hicks, Brennen London, Abigayle London and Mia London; four brothers, Ralph of Hiseville, Donald Ray and Wayne of Illinois, Charles Emery of Florida; three sisters, Helen Binion of Illinois, Jeanette Crume of Beaver Dam and Judy Coomer of Hiseville; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Sammy London; three sisters, Virginia Emery, Kathleen Meredith and Frances Morrison.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2008, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Vera Lillian Locke

1922-2007

Vera Lillian Locke, 85, of Hiseville, died Monday, August 20, 2007 at NHC Health Care Facility. She was the daughter of the late Leslie Carlisle Locke and Laura Jones Locke and a member of the Hiseville Methodist Church.

She is survived by one brother: Joseph K. Locke of Louisville, KY; one sister: Barbara Locke of Greenville, KY; one nephew: Billy Locke and his wife Kathy of Glasgow; two nieces: Mary Ann Locke of Louisville, KY and Donna Seymour of Upton, KY; 2 great nephews and five great nieces.

Funeral will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville cemetery. Visitation will be after 10:00 A. M. Thursday at the funeral home.

Bessie Lane

November 14, 1934 - December 18, 2005

Bessie Lou Lane, 71, Lucas, died Sunday, December 18, 2005, in Glasgow. A native of Barren County, she was a daughter of the late Eula Beatrice Smith and James D. Lane.

Survivors include two sisters, Diane Estes and Kaye Heers both of Glasgow; two brothers, Bill Lane of Lexington and Clyde Lane of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Joe Lane.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2005, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 5:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Ruby Poynter

June 29, 1914 - September 7, 2001

Ruby Poynter, 87, Davis Street, Glasgow, died Friday at the Medical Center at Bowling Green after a lengthy illness. A daughter of the late Worthie and Myrtie Dossey Wheeler, she was a retired operator for 33 years with General Telephone and a member of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include her husband, Laymon; two daughters, Joyce Poynter at home and Linda Pedigo of Columbus, Indiana; six grandchildren, Lisa Beltz, Gene Pedigo, Jeff Pedigo, Trina Rose, Kevin Pedigo and Julia Pedigo; one sister, Opal Carey of Nashville; one brother, Joe Wheeler of Phoenix; twelve great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one grandchild, Mike Pedigo.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

John Leamon "Rink" Jewell

August 20, 1915 - February 19, 2007

John Leamon “Rink” Jewell, 91, Hiseville, died Monday, February 19, 2007, at his home. He was born in Hart County on August 20, 1915, the son of Charlie Jackson and Lucinda Coffey Jewell. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his children, Carolyn Jean Matthews (Billy), of Glasgow, Elaine Harbison (Stanley), of Randolph, John “Snooter” Jewell, Jr., of Edmonton, and Dennis Jewell, of Hiseville; seven grandchildren, Melissa Russell, Mark Matthews, Melanie Patterson, Cynthia Shive, Clint Harbison, Terry Jewell and Travis Jewell; seven great-grandchildren, Annie Allison, Whitney, Meryn, Grant, Noah and Avery.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by is wife, Mary Kathleen Jewell, three brothers, two sisters and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 22, 2007, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Burial, with military honors provided by Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV, will be in the Hiseville cemetery. Visitation will be after 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Harold Byron Jackson

Harold Byron Jackson, 82, Glasgow, died Monday at the Barren County Health Care Center. A native of Allen County, he was a son of the late Ralston and Lena W. Jackson. He was a graduate of Ft. Knox High School and a veteran of WW II, serving with the U.S. Army. Prior to entering the service, he served with the Kentucky Highway Patrol and afterwards started to work with Western Kentucky Gas. He served as district superintendent, manager of the Glasgow district and later as manager of the Owensboro District.

He was very active in community affairs. He was a past president of the Horse Cave Lions Club, a past director of the Glasgow Rotary Club and member of the Glasgow-Barren County Chamber of Commerce.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Gipson Jackson; one son, Charles Jackson and his wife, Eloise of Glasgow; one granddaughter, Charlann Jackson of Lexington; two brothers, Junior Jackson and William Jackson both of Scottsville.

Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 1:00 P. M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Military honors will be provided by the Glasgow DAV Chapter #20.

Zodell England Jessie

September 7, 1933 - November 20, 2001

Zodell England Jessie age 68 Iron Mountain Road Park City died Tuesday November 20 at the Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. She was the daughter of the late John Milton and Lydia England. She was retired from T. J. Samson Community hospital. She worked in the Housekeeping department. She was a member of the Red Lick Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband James. Two daughters: Connie Jessie of Park City and Peggy Hagan and her husband Jimmy of Park City. Two Grandchildren: Amy Reynolds and her husband Matthew of Park City and Christopher Hagan of Glasgow. One Brother Euleth England of Louisville.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one sister: Bernell Coots and four Brothers: Ulysses, Floyd, Edward and Willard England.

Funeral will be 11:00 AM Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Barnes cemetery in Adair County. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10:00 AM Friday.

Roy Ervin Keeton

August 3, 1952 - February 13, 2006

Roy Ervin Keeton, 53, Glasgow, died Monday, February 13, 2006, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. A son of the late Ervin Farley and Cynthia Vianna Keeton Simmons, he was a security guard.

Survivors include seven children, Jesse Roy Keeton, Felicia Gail Keeton, Linda May Keeton, James Charles Keeton and Dillon Dakota Keeton all of Glasgow; Lisa Keeton Hudgins and Paul Brown of Edmonton; two grandchildren, Amanda York and Leslie Junior Hudgins; 15 brothers and sisters, Kay Farley, Bobby Farley, Penny Houchens, Nancy Emmitt, Carolyn Groce, Mildred Wheat, Jimmy Keeton, Gail Etherton, David Simmons, Sandy Smith and Harvey Simmons all of Glasgow, James Farley and Eunice Slayton of Temple Hill, Marlene Franklin of Buck Creek, KY, and Lisa Wyatt of Railton; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 16, 2006, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the New Salem cemetery. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Sarah Lou Perkins

March 18, 1922 - April 11, 2004

Sarah Lou Perkins, 82, Glasgow , died Sunday, April 11, 2004 , at the NHC Health Care Center. A daughter of the late J.B. and Pauline Peden Marshall, she was a homemaker and had attended the Gethsemane Baptist Church .

Survivors include one sister, Margaret Lewis Veach of Fountain Run; several nieces and nephews, including Linda Calvert and her husband, Billy, of Tracy, Beth Wade of Louisville, Kelly Veach and his wife, Judy, and Marshall Veach all of Fountain Run, John David Veach and his wife, Beth, of Tompkinsville; her daughter-in-law, Patricia Payne Perkins Taylor of Louisville; two sisters-in-law, Nell Starr of Glasgow and Myrtle Tonkin of Waterbury, CT.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Perkins, and her son, James Ernest Perkins.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2004, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Diane Lane Middleton

August 7, 1943 - January 2, 2003

Diane Lane Middleton, 59, Glasgow, died Thursday at her residence. A native of Columbus, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Anita Johnson Lane, a Certified Nurses Aide and a member of the Lowell General Baptist Church in Columbus.

Survivors include her husband, Richard; three sons, Ronnie Middleton of Glasgow, Mark Middleton of Louisville and Robert Middleton at home; one daughter, Betty Smith of Park City; special friends, Rev. Erbie Keen of Portland, TN, Joann Keen of Portland, and Jenny Scott of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Max Lane, and two sisters, Shirley Masterson and Imogene Odell.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Bethel Baptist Church with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Visitation will be after 3:00 p.m. Friday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home and after 12 noon Saturday at the church.

Oma I. Kingrey

October 18, 1932 - January 9, 2009

Oma Brady Kingrey, 76, of Glasgow, died Friday, January 09, 2009 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Isaac William Brady and Daisey Mae Kirby Brady. She was a member of the Brotherhood Freewill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband: Stanley Kingrey; seven sons: Arnold Kingrey, Wilbur Kingrey and his wife Kathie, Glenn Kingrey, Darrell Kingrey, Jerry Kingrey and his wife Michelle and Gary Kingrey all of Glasgow, Rex Kingrey of Tennessee; three daughters: Joan Bennett and her husband Carlos and Bonnie Lyon both of Glasgow, Jennifer Taylor and her husband Mark of Greensburg. Seventeen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters: Eurie Brown of Scottsville, Clara Crump of Alvaton and Ola Jean Miller of Bowling Green.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers: George William Brady and James Reber Brady.

Funeral will be 1:00 P.M. Monday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Visitation will be after 12:00 Noon Sunday at the funeral home.
