Ewing Palmore Rogers

"Double Eagle"

November 30, 1932 - January 7, 2008

Ewing Palmore “Double Eagle” Rogers, 75, of Glasgow, died Monday, January 07, 2008 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was the son of the late Merritt Ivan Rogers and Nellie Mae Pace Rogers. He was a Corporal in the United States army where he served as a medic during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Norma Jean Rogers; one son: David Wilson Rogers of Glasgow; four daughters: Connie Denise Sexton and her husband of Daryl of Hiseville, Shirley Jean Crumpton and her husband William of Cave City, Linda Gail Sturgeon and her husband Paul of Jonesville and Karen Faye Rich and her husband Steve of Munfordville; three step children: Tony Hicks and his wife Sandra of Hiseville, Gary Hicks of Glasgow and Susan King and her husband Tim of Austin; one brother: Malvin Rogers of Irving, Ky; two sisters: Mabel Livesay and Opal Riley both of Louisville; eight grandchildren, three step grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and 1 step great grandchild. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by a grandson: Donnie Wayne Alexander; two brothers: Leonard Rogers and Mitchell Rogers and one sister: Barbara Rogers Fisher.

Funeral will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with Bro. Tony Cecil officiating. Burial will be in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens with the Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV providing military honors. Visitation will be after 3:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Delsie Powell

September 6, 1930 - June 5, 2002

Delsie Powell, 71, Glasgow, died Wednesday, June 5, 2002 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Annie Lawrie Furlong and Johnnie White. She was the widow of the late Everett Powell, who preceded her in death April 22, 1986.

Mrs. Powell graduated from Austin Tracy High School in 1949. She was a self-employed seamstress and continued this work until her death. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, David Alan Powell and his wife Wende; one daughter, Rita Jean Duvall and her husband Ricky; two grandchildren, Chase Powell and Sara Duvall all of Glasgow; one brother, George White of Temple Hill and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John White of Glasgow and Paul White of Louisville, one sister, Mary Annie White, and one granddaughter, Jenna Lynn Duvall.

Funeral will be 3:00 P.M. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy

Minnie Ethel Pryor

September 22, 1908 - March 29, 2002

Minnie Ethel Pryor, 93, Glasgow, died Friday at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. Born September 22, 1908, in Montauk, Missouri, she was a daughter of the late Moses and Matilda Thomason, a homemaker and a faithful member of the First Christian Church of Salem.

Survivors include a son, Leroy Crabtree and his wife, Donna, of Iberia, MO; a daughter, Eunice Allen and her husband, Jim, of Glasgow, KY; six grandchildren, Terry Crabtree of Washington, Peggy Crabtree Morgan of Illinois, Nancy Crabtree Massie of Colorado, DeAnna Allen Dyer of Glasgow, Mike Allen of Glasgow and Judy Allen Mohr of Winchester, KY; twelve great-grandchildren, Beau Crabtree, Kelly Crabtree, Joshua Crabtree, Tim Morgan, Chris Morgan, Jessica Massie, Amber Massie, Amy Dyer, Brittany Allen, Abigail Mohr and Bethany Mohr; one great-great-grandchild, Rose Morgan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Pryor, two brothers, Marley Thomason and William Thomason; a sister, Nora Thomason; her daughter-in-law, Dorothy Crabtree; a great-granddaughter, Julieanna Crabtree; and a friend, Max Lay.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Spencer Funeral Home in Salem, Missouri with burial in the Cedar Grove cemetery at Salem. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home in Glasgow and after 5 p.m. Monday at the Spencer Funeral Home in Salem.

Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Glenview Christian Church of Glasgow.

Logan Wayne Richardson

February 28, 2001 - June 8, 2001

Logan Wayne Richardson, 3 month old son of Greg and Charity Garner Richardson of Cave City, died Friday at Norton’s Hospital in Louisville.

Other survivors include his Paternal Grandparents, Larry W. and Darlene Richardson of Cave City; Maternal Grandparents, Elizabeth Lindsey and the late Tim Garner of Brownsville; Great-Grandparents, Eunice Anderson and the late Henry Anderson of Burkesville, Eugenia Richardson and the late Harry Richardson of Glasgow, the late Sarah and Oval Garner, Kenneth and Sue Lindsey of Lindseyville, Patricia and Elba Carroll of Bee Springs; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville cemetery. Friends may call after 6:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Lucille McGuire

July 29, 1924 - April 12, 2006

Lucille McGuire, 81, Glasgow, died Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at the NHC Health Care Center. She was the daughter of the late Judge Leslie Shader and Mary Ann Garner Shader. She was a member of the Coral Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband Paul McGuire; one son: Larry McGuire and his wife Charlotte; one daughter: Ann Starr and her husband Steve; one brother: Bill Henry Shader and his wife Mary Helen; two grandchildren: Bryan Starr and his wife Cathy and Timothy Starr; one great-grandson: Blake Starr; three step-grandchildren: Michael Walden and his wife Kathy, Melissa Kilbourne and her husband Andy and Rhonda Morrison and her husband Chris; six step great-grandchildren; two step great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one sister Dorothy Basil.

Funeral will be 11:00 A. M. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral home with burial in the Hiseville cemetery. Visitation will be after 4:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.

Donald Wayne McCubbin

Donald Wayne McCubbin, 63, Temple Hill, died Friday at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. Born July 17, 1938 in Green County, he was the son of Brady and Mayme Taylor McCubbin. He had been a farmer in Barren County for many years and was a member of the Temple Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Shipley McCubbin; two daughters, Donna Brents McCubbin of Temple Hill and Dana Brady McCubbin of Glasgow; his mother, Mayme McCubbin of Glasgow; his mother-in-law, Essie Shipley of Glasgow; and many friends.

Donald was preceded in death by his father, Brady McCubbin and his father-in-law, Brents Shipley.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Brain Tumor Association, 2720 River Road, Des Plaines, IL 60018, or to the Temple Hill Baptist Church Building Fund, 8427 Tompkinsville Road, Glasgow, KY 42141.

Philip McCandless

February 6, 1928 - January 12, 2004

Philip McCandless, 75, Glasgow , died Monday, January 12, 2004 , at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital . A son of the late Bill and Ora Lee Douglas McCandless, he was a retired farmer and a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church .

Survivors include five children, Vickie (Elliott) Doyle of Worthington, OH, Teresa (Don) Wyatt of Glasgow, Beverly McCandless of Staunton, VA, Kerry McCandless of Ekron, KY and Diane McCandless of Munfordville; eight grandchildren, John (Janelle) Doyle of Oneida, IL, Philip Doyle of Delaware, OH, Tara Davis of Glasgow, David Wyatt of Louisville, Harper Holsinger and Hannah Holsinger of Weyer’s Cave, VA, Chris McCandless of Munfordville and Jesslyn McCandless of Ekron; one great-grandchild, Lexie Davis; two brothers, Bobby McCandless of Knob Lick and Wallace McCandless of Tompkinsville; two sisters, Carolyn Young of Knob Lick and Mary Katherine Irwin of Edmonton; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Ferguson McCandless; a brother, James McCandless and a sister, Bonnie Atwell.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 15, 2004, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Joseph Nespojohn

July 30, 1917 - December 9, 2006

Joseph Nespojohn, 89 of Glasgow, died Saturday, December 9, 2006 at the Rosewood nursing home in Bowling Green. Retired from Bridgeport, CT Post Office. He served in the U. S. Air Force during WWII. He was at Clark Field in the Philippines where he was captured and detained as a Japanese P.O.W. working in coal mines for two years in Japan. He was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Campaign, Bronze Star, Purple Heart and P. O. W. Medals. He was a member of the St. Helen Catholic Church in Glasgow.

He is survived by his wife Ruth Williams Nespojohn and his daughter Nora Nespojohn of Puerto Rico.

The funeral service will be 11:00 A. M. Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with Bro. Pat Ed McDowell and Bro. John Shepherd officiating. Burial, with military honors provided by Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV, will be in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Visitation will be after 9:00 A. M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Lloyd Mabry

April 14, 1977-June 30, 2008

Lloyd Wilson Mabry, 31 of Lucas, died Monday, June 30, 2008. He was the son of Mary Ruth Wood Mabry and the late Richard Donald Mabry. He was a captain at the Austin Tracy volunteer fire department where he had served for 13 years.

Besides his mother he is survived by one brother: Scotty Mabry of Lucas; one sister: Vickie Lynn Eadens of Bowling Green; two aunts: Ava Stafford of Nashville and Loretta Hazel of Bowling Green; two uncles: Alton Mabry of Whitehouse, TN and Charlie Mabry of Mt. Juliet, TN; two nephews: Dakota Crump and Tony Eadens.

Funeral will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial and full fireman’s honors at the Caney Fork cemetery. Visitation will be after 2:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.

Billie Craig Jones

June 12, 1920 - May 31, 2002

Billie Craig Jones, 81, Glasgow, died Friday at her residence. A native of Barren County, she was a daughter of the late Marshall and Cora Scott Craig and widow of the late Earl Jones. She was a homemaker and a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Fred Jones and his wife, Joetta, of Norwalk, CT, and Doug Jones and his wife, Nancy, of Owensboro; one grandson, Christopher Jones of Norwalk; nieces and nephews, including Bernice Shelton and Floyd Ray Jones both of Glasgow; a sister-in-law, Lillian Gumm of Glasgow.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Leeoma Reece

April 18, 1929 - February 10, 2004

Leeoma “Sister” Reece, 74, Glasgow , died Tuesday February 10, 2004, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital . A daughter of the late Cora Ethel Strode and John Anderson Bowles, she was a homemaker and a member of the Big Meadow Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Linda Lyons and her husband, Larry, of Glasgow; two sons, David Reece and his wife, Sheila, and Eddie Reece and his wife, Angie, all of Glasgow; one brother, Andrew Bowles and his wife, Loretta, of Glasgow; four sisters, Gaye Davis and her husband, Lonnie, Ella Kinslow and her husband, Charles, and Phyllis Stephenson and her husband, Charles, all of Glasgow, Maude Adams and her husband, H. C., of Indiana; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Owens Reece, nine brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 13, 2004, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
