Louise Owen Parrish

November 20, 1920 - December 22, 2003

Louise Owen Parrish, 83, Glasgow, died Monday, December 22, 2003, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. A native of Barren County, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Katie Fisher Owen, a homemaker and a lifelong member of the Hiseville Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Terry Owen Parrish of Glasgow; one sister, Eugenia Wells and her husband, L. D., of Clarksville, Indiana; a cousin, Jeane Foster Parrish of Edmonton; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Terry Parrish.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2003, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville cemetery. Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Sharon Fay Johnson

February 4, 1949 - November 5, 2005

Sharon Fay Frazier Johnson, 56, Glasgow, died Saturday, November 5, 2005, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. A native of Glasgow, she was the daughter of Beatrice Shelton Frazier and the late Cecil G. Frazier.

Along with her mother, she is survived by one son, James Timothy Spears of Knob Lick; two daughters, Teresa Stucker and her husband, Jonathan, of Waddy, KY, and Elizabeth Patrick and her husband, Dennis, of Glasgow; two brothers, James R. Frazier of Glasgow and Melvin T. Frazier of Indiana; nine grandchildren, Tiffany Spears of IL, Ashley Spears of TN, April and Amber Bragg of Waddy, Nichole Stucker of Bagdad, KY, Andrew Patrick of Edmonton, Timothy, Sarah and William Patrick of Glasgow; one great-grandchild, Samara Patrick of Edmonton.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2005, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Irene Spillman Johnson

Irene Spillman Johnson age 80 of the Coral Hill Road Glasgow died today (Tuesday) at the NHC Health Care in Glasgow She was the daughter of the late George Thomas and Ettie Lane Spillman. She was a homemaker and a member of the Coral Hill Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband: William Reid (WR) Johnson. One daughter: Patricia Faye Johnson of Cave City. Two sisters: Martha Spillman of Ohio and Lera (Aldeen) Miller of Florida. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Funeral will be 11:00 AM Thursday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2:00 P.M. Wednesday.

Lee Oma Mercer

Mrs. Lee Oma Mercer, age 79, of Chatsworth, Georgia, died Tuesday evening, February 19, 2002 at the Hamilton Medical Center. Mrs. Mercer was born June 4, 1922 in Barren County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Eddie Clay and Myrtie (Mansfield) Mayes. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Alfred Mercer. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Rondel Alfred and Diana Mercer of Escalante, Utah; grandchildren, Sandra and Jeff Mills, Tina and Frank Bennett all of Chatsworth, Georgia, Cindy and Greg Bray of Calhoun Georgia, Kassie Mercer of Dalton Georgia; sister, Mrs. Edna Riddle of Glasgow, KY; great-grandchildren, Chris Wyatt, Jeremy Bennett, Ronnie Mercer, Shannon Bennett, Jessica Fuson, Michael Dooley, Tyler Osby, Benjamin Bennett and Cheyenne Mills; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, February 23, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the Glasgow Municipal cemetery in Glasgow, Kentucky. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. Thursday and at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home in Glasgow, KY from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. Friday

Terry Mitchell Kerney

1954 - 2001

Terry Mitchell Kerney age 46 of the Oil City Road Glasgow died today (Tuesday) May 15, 2001 at his residence. He was the son of the late Willie Lee and Delcie Marie Wilcox Kerney.

He is survived by three Brothers: Jerry, Gary and Darrell Kerney all of Glasgow. Four Sisters: Patty Wyatt of Tennessee, Violet Gillentine, Gloria Pitcock and Fannie Basil all of Glasgow. Several Nieces and Nephews and Special Friends also survive.

Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5:30 P.M. Today (Wednesday).

Orville Hines Locke

1918-2001

Orville H. “ Big’Un” Locke, 82, of the Hiseville Community, died Friday, February 16, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was the son of the late Leslie Carlisle and Laura Jones Locke. He was a member of the Hiseville Baptist Church and a Farmer.

He is survived by one son: Billy Locke of Hiseville; one daughter Mary Ann Upton of LaGrange, Ky.; one brother: Joseph K. Locke of Louisville, Ky.; two sisters: Vera Lillian Locke of Glasgow and Barbara Rose Locke of Greenville, Ky.; four grandchildren: Shannon Miller of LaGrange, Ky.; Kimberly Capps of Louisville, Ky.; Michelle Locke of Owensboro, Ky. and Mary Lee Locke of Franklin, TN; one step-grandson: Mike Downs of Glasgow; three Great-Grandchildren; two step Great-Grandchildren. A dear friend and companion, Lou Newsome of Glasgow. He was preceded in death by his wife Flora Lee and his brother Carl Locke and his twin sister Minnie.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2:00 P.M. Saturday.

Linda Faye Johnson

March 14, 1973 - October 9, 2003

Linda Faye Johnson, 30, of Glasgow died Thursday, October 9, 2003 at the Medco Nursing Home in Franklin, Kentucky .

She is survived by two children: Terrell Leo Johnson and Jordon Monnte Smith; her mother: Pamela Edmunds and step-father: OC Edmunds of Glasgow ; maternal grandmother: Patty Driver of Glasgow ; two brothers: Donnie Ray Johnson and Ronnie Ray Johnson both of Glasgow ; a special friend Eric Carter.

Funeral will be 1:30 P.M. Monday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Pleasant Oak Ridge cemetery . Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Sunday.

Hugh Wallace Peden

October 21, 1918 - March 19, 2003

Hugh Wallace Peden, 84, Temple Hill, died Wednesday morning at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. A native of Barren County, he was a son of the late F. E. and Iva Saylor Peden. Mr. Peden was a lifelong dairy farmer of the Temple Hill Community, a member of the Poplar Log Church of Christ, member of the Temple Hill Sportsman Club, a former director of the Temple Hill Fire Department, a member of the H.B. Grant Masonic Lodge at Etoile, and a veteran of WW II, having served with the United States Navy.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Katherine Smith Peden; two sons, Douglas and wife, Diane, Charles and wife, Becky, all of Temple Hill; four daughters, Margaret Sparks and husband, Leroy, of Bowling Green, Glenda Boston and husband, Eugene, Linda Wood and husband, Mike, Barbara Miller and husband, Delane, all of Temple Hill; thirteen grandchildren, Donnie Ray Peden of Gamaliel, Craig and Tina Sparks of Bowling Green, Dr. Brad Sparks of Louisville, Brian Peden, Temple Hill, Renee’ Hendrick, Bowling Green, Casey Peden, Glasgow, Shannon Boston and Sherry Hildreth of Radford, VA, Michelle Murphy, Burkesville, Mica Wood, Temple Hill, Brooke and Tyler Miller of Temple Hill; seven great-grandchildren, Dustin, Andrew, Travis and Matthew Peden, Eli and Kelsey Sparks, and Corbin Murphy; a special niece, Ernestine Beals of Glasgow.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Hugh Donald Peden; two grandsons, Jerry Wayne Wood and Michael Wayne Wood; two sisters, Maureen Smith and Francis McClard.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Poplar Log cemetery. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Masonic services will be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Josh’s Friends or the Poplar Log Church of Christ.

Mose Miller

May 6, 1911 - November 26, 2005

Lyda Mosby Smith “Mose” Miller, 94, Glasgow, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2005, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. Mrs. Miller was born in Barren County and was the daughter of the late Wesley Brent Smith and Lillie Mosby Smith.

Mrs. Miller is survived by her husband of 70 years, Lawrence “Dusty” Miller and two daughters, Jo Brent Robertson and her husband, Bill, of Lexington, and Emmy Lou Dickinson and her husband, Henry, of Glasgow; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Louise Jolly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Alice Jewell.

Graveside services will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2005, at the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to one’s favorite charity.

Sarah E. Nelson

June 30, 1917 - December 8, 2001

Sarah E. Nelson, 84, Glasgow, died Saturday at the T.J. Samson Community Hospital. A daughter of the late Wiley and Maude Norville Simmons, she was a retired seamstress and the widow of the late Garnell E. Osborne and Lorien Nelson.

Survivors include one daughter, Paula Frazier and her husband, Steve of Glasgow; three grandchildren, Sarah Ellington Frazier of Sunshine, LA., Travis Frazier of Nashville and Jenny Frazier of Lexington; one sister, Mary Dell Conrad of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by seven brothers, Willie Simmons, Ellis Simmons, Harry Simmons, Ray Simmons, James Simmons, Frank Simmons and Stanley Simmons and by two sisters, Velma Simmons Peden and Mabel Simmons Matthews.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Visitation will be after 12 noon Sunday at the funeral home.

Myeerah E. Mills

December 15, 1932 - June 18, 2008

Myeerah E. Mills, 75, of Glasgow, died Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at the NHC Health Care Center. The daughter of the late Minnie B. McClellan and Clayton Willard Pedigo, she was a retired factory worker and a member of the Columbia Avenue Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond E. Mills; one daughter, Janice (Mike) Peden of Glasgow; four sons, Steve Mills, Kevin Mills, Chris Mills and Darryl Mills all of Glasgow; nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Mills and one brother, Howard “Bud” Pedigo.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2008, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Pearl Shaw Richardson

June 2, 1909 - March 6, 2002

Pearl Shaw Richardson, 92, Glasgow, died Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at the Barren County Health Care Center. She was the daughter of the late Tom Shaw and Leta Branham Shaw. She was a member of the East Main Methodist Church.

She is survived by two sons: Tom Richardson of Taylorsville and William Richardson of Glasgow; two daughters: Jo Ann Ball of Knob Lick and Lucy Crain of Munfordville; two sisters: Bernice Defever of Louisville and Mary Elmore of Glasgow; twenty-two Grandchildren and Several Great-Grandchildren and one Great-Great Grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband: Tom Richardson; two sons: Jimmy & Jack Richardson and one daughter Katherine Elliott.

Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Visitation will be after 12:00 P.M. on Friday.
