Eddie June Jackson

November 6, 1932 - February 27, 2004

Eddie June Jackson, 71, Robin Court, Glasgow, died Friday, February 27, 2004, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital . The daughter of Sarah Eliza Gill Boyd of Glasgow and the late Edward Gill, she was a retired employee of Handmacher Fashions with 30 years of service and a member of the Faith United Methodist Church for 40 years.

Along with her mother, survivors include her husband, Roy Jackson; four children, Billy Jackson and his wife, Vickie, Eddie Carroll Jackson and his wife, Janet, Linda Stephenson and her husband, Archie, Tabitha Jackson and her friend, Timmy Glass, all of Glasgow; two grandchildren, Jeremy Jackson, currently in Iraq, and Robin Garmon; two great-grandchildren, Dakotah Jackson and Matthew Garmon; two brothers, Carroll Gill of Glasgow and Max Gill of Lexington; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two sons, Larry Jackson and James David Jackson.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2004, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 12 noon Sunday at the funeral home.

Richard Donald Mabry

Richard D. Mabry, 67, of Lucas died Saturday, March 24, 2001 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. He was the son of the late Harvey Loyd Mabry and Hattie Mae Turner Mabry. He was a wood craftsman.

He is survived by his wife: Mary Ruth Wood Mabry; Three sons: Donnie Mabry of Bowling Green, Lloyd Mabry of Lucas and Scott Mabry of Lucas; Two daughters: Vickie Edens of Bowling Green, KY and Judy Cordts of Martinsville, GA; Two brothers: Charles Edward Mabry of Mt. Juliet, TN, Roy Alton Mabry of White House, TN; One sister: Ava Marie Stafford of Titusville, FL; Four grandchildren: Anthony Edens, Jeremy Simmons, William Ray Mabry, Shawn Gilbert Mabry. He was preceded in death by One sister: Patsy Johnson and One brother: James Loyd Mabry.

Funeral will be 1:00 P.M. Monday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Friends may call after 10:30 A. M. Sunday at the funeral home.

Tammy Rebecca Lee

August 28, 1962 - April 25, 2007

Tammy Rebecca Lee, 44, of Glasgow, died Wednesday, April 25, 2007. She was the daughter of Joe Kidd and the late Lora Jean Franklin Monroe.

She is survived by two sons: Brandon N. Lee and his wife Lacey and Tyler E. Lee; two brothers: Jeff Kidd and Scott Kidd of Glasgow; her step-father: Beryl R. Monroe; two nieces: Brooke and Paige Kidd; nephews: Matthew Kidd and Joshua Lee; several aunts, uncles, and cousins survive.

Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Stutler officiating. Visitation will be after 5:00 Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery.

Katherine Key

May 7, 1916 - August 9, 2003

Katherine Key, 87, Bowling Green, died Saturday at Greenview Hospital in Bowling Green. A native of Barren County, she was a daughter of the late Jessie and Vera Nettie Pardue Byrd. She was a nurse and a sitter for the elderly.

Survivors include one son, Bobby Key and his wife, Linda, of Horse Cave; two grandchildren, Aaron Key and Laura Beth Key of Horse Cave; two brothers, Maxie Byrd and Lewis Byrd both of Louisville; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Taylor Key; three sisters, Willie Jo Garmon, Christine Vessels and Madeline Gracie; two brothers, Lloyd Byrd and Charles Byrd.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Big Meadow cemetery. Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Marlena Joy Lawson

Marlena Joy Lawson, daughter of John and Amanda Vincent Lawson of Glasgow, was stillborn at Greenview Hospital in Bowling Green, Monday, January 28, 2002.

Other survivors include a brother, Tyler Matthew Lawson, at home; maternal grandparents, Mike Vincent and his fiancee’ Phyllis Banks of Brownsville and Deneece Duvall of Bee Springs; paternal grandparents, Wesley Frogge of Cave City and Edward Lawson and his wife, Shirley of Brandenburg; maternal great-grandparents, Frances Proffitt of Glasgow and Curt and Cleo Duvall of Bee Springs; paternal great-grandparents, Lois and John Dye of Jeffersonville, IN and Herbert Duncan of Leitchfield; three uncles, Steven and Curtis Vincent of Brownsville and Joey Lawson of Jeffersonville and Angie Lawson of Jeffersonville; a cousin, Hunter Lawson; several great aunts, uncles and cousins.

Graveside services will be held 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Glasgow Municipal cemetery under the direction of the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.

Ruby Lohden

August 12, 1922 - January 16, 2004

Ruby Lohden, 81, Glasgow, died Friday, January 16, 2004, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green .

Survivors of her immediate family include a son, Joe Lohden; a daughter, Judy Lohden; a granddaughter, Leslie Lohden Brown; a grandson, Justin Lohden and a great-granddaughter, Emili Brown.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Lohden and her parents, Trigg and Bybee Mansfield.

Graveside services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 18, 2004, at the Glasgow Municipal cemetery . There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to your favorite charity.

Richard Pedigo

May 31, 1933 - September 18, 2008

Col. Hughie Richard Pedigo, 75, Glasgow, died Thursday, September 18, 2008, at the Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital in Bowling Green. A son of the late Mary Lillie Riley and Hughie Rollin Pedigo, he was a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture. He was a pilot with the United States Air Force and after his retirement, he returned to his Barren County farm. He was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity, a Kentucky Colonel, a member of the Hiseville Baptist Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5906.

Survivors include his wife, Annie Compagnon Pedigo; one daughter, Lynn Pedigo and special friend, Jeffry Morris of Lexington; three sons, Hughie Pedigo, Derek Pedigo and wife, Loretta, and Jeff Pedigo and wife, Tammy, all of Glasgow; five grandchildren, Brandy Pedigo, Brooklyn Pedigo, Morgan Pedigo, Zebulon Pedigo and Bailey Pedigo; one brother, Don Pedigo and wife, Sue, of Cave City; two nephews, Donnie Pedigo and wife, Cathy, of Glasgow, and Wayne Pedigo and wife, Julie, of Cave City.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2008, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the honor guard from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Visitation will be after 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Irene Weaver Proffitt

April 4, 1912 - February 11, 2002

Irene Weaver Proffitt, 89, Aaron Road, Bowling Green, died Monday at Greenview Hospital in Bowling Green. A native of Barren County, she was a daughter of the late Jim and Deanie Lowrey Weaver, a retired teacher in the Barren County School System and a member of the Living Hope Baptist Church in Bowling Green.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandy Darnell and her husband, David of Bowling Green; three brothers, Jesse Weaver and Melvin Weaver of Bowling Green and J.B. Weaver of Glasgow; four step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Proffitt; two brothers, Buford Weaver and Pomp Weaver, and two sisters, Lennie Bagby and Allie Wells.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Jim Norman

October 31, 1946 - October 12, 2006

James G. “Jim” Norman, 59, Glasgow, died Thursday, October 12, 2006, at his residence. The son of the late James Guy and Edith Grooms Norman, he was a retired vocational teacher with the Allen County-Scottsville Board of Education and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. He was also an avid volunteer and supporter of Habitat for Humanity.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie; one son, John Carvel Norman of Glasgow; his step-mother, Ann Norman of Glasgow; four uncles, Dale Norman and wife, Maxine, Keith Norman and wife, Elizabeth, all of Glasgow, Paul Grooms of Indiana and Sam Grooms of Wisconsin; four aunts, Jeanette Norman and Lois Norman both of Glasgow, Doty Dieterick of Bowling Green and Linda Baxter of Campbellsville; several cousins.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 15, 2006, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Habitat for Humanity.

Lauretta Johnson

June 22, 1943 - July 24, 2004

Lauretta Mae Johnson, 61, Mt. Sherman, died Saturday, July 24, 2004, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville . A native of Barren County, she was a daughter of Goldie Muriel Eudy Bailey of Knob Lick and the late Guy Thomas Bailey. She was the owner and operator of Johnson Upholstery and was of the Pentecostal faith.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by two daughters, Pamela Sue Walters and her husband, David, of Elizabeth, IN, and Lesslie Faith Johnson of Mt. Sherman; one son, Russell Earl Head and his wife, Carolyn, of Columbia, KY; seven grandchildren, Charity Diane DeSpain Spalding, Nathaniel Wayne DeSpain, David Allen Walters, Alaura Mae Head, William Earl Head, Rachel Head and Bethany Head; one sister, Wanda Kidd of Knob Lick; six brothers, Thomas Bailey of Knob Lick, Russell Bailey and wife, Kaye, of Knob Lick, Clay Bailey and wife, Brenda, of Red Boiling Springs, TN, Gerald Bailey and wife, Kathy, of Columbia, Joseph Bailey and wife, Janet, of Greensburg, and David Bailey and wife, Faye, of Edmonton; two uncles, L.P. Eudy and Cecil Byrd; two aunts, Laverne Eudy and Pauline Bailey; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one sister, Sara Frances Bailey.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 26, 2004, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Bailey cemetery at Sulphur Well. Friends may call after 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations toward funeral expenses.

Boyd W. Phillips

December 8, 1919 - January 12, 2004

Boyd W. Phillips, 84, Glasgow, died Monday, January 12, 2004, at his residence. The son of the late Mattie Van Meter and Lilyon W. Phillips, he was a retired foreman at Mallory Capacitor and SKF Industries. He was a United States Army veteran of WW II and the Korean Conflict and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart. He was a member of the VFW Post 5309, a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Glasgow Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Linda P. Matthews and her husband, Tommy, of Hiseville; two grandsons, Bo Matthews and his wife, Terri, of Glasgow, and Todd Matthews and his wife, Tonya, of Bowling Green; two great-grandsons, Greg and Luke Matthews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Hansen Phillips and an infant son, Boyd Hansen Phillips.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2004, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville cemetery. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Rondal "Red" Perkins

October 19, 1931 - December 7, 2004

Rondal “Red” Perkins, 73, of the Red Cross Community, died Tuesday, December 7, 2004, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital . A son of the late George and Myrtie Poore Perkins, he was a retired employee of Eaton Axle in Glasgow . He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church .

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; one son, Darrell Perkins of Red Cross; one daughter, Rita Felkins and her husband, Greg, of Glasgow; two grandchildren, Shawna Felkins and Cameron Felkins; three brothers-in-law, James Bray and Paul Bray and his wife, Linda, of Glasgow, Jesse Bray and his wife, Carol, of Tampa, FL; three sisters-in-law, Eileen Perkins and Robbie Jo Perkins of Washington and Wilma Templeton of Salem, IN; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, J.W. Perkins, Orville Perkins, Maxie Perkins and Lewis Perkins, and by one sister, Jewell Bray.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2004, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 12 noon Thursday at the funeral home.
