Grace Jennings

January 7, 1932 - April 28, 2005

Grace Jennings, 73, Eighty-Eight, died Thursday, April 28, 2005, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Howard Paul and Effie Emily DeFevers Anderson. She was a former employee of Kentucky Pants Co. and more recently had worked in medical records at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. She was a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer H. “Buster” Jennings.

Survivors include one son, James Jennings and his wife, Abbie, of Glasgow; three grandchildren, Shelly Smith and her husband, Bryan, Chris Jennings and his wife, Teresa, and Nathan Bartley and his wife, Amanda, all of Glasgow; two great-grandchildren, Gavin Bartley and Weston Carter; one brother, John Anderson and his wife, Ruth, of Glasgow; one sister, Beulah Turner of Bowling Green; one niece, Tina Turner of Bowling Green; two nephews, Michael Anderson of Glasgow and Jeff Turner of Bowling Green.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2005, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 12 noon Saturday at the funeral home.

Leonard Pitman

November 27, 1962 - October 25, 2008

Leonard Pitman, 45, of Austin, died Saturday, October 25 at the VA Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He was a veteran of Iraq with the 1/149th National Guard and currently serving with the 1/623rd National Guard. He was a member of the Rolling Thunder Chapter 2 and a firefighter with the Austin Tracy Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife Linda Connell Pitman; three sons: Joshua Veatch of Indianapolis, IN., Jeremy Veatch of South Carolina and Brandon Veatch of Glasgow; His parents J. D. Glass and Lillie Sandlin Glass of Austin; two brothers: Terry Glass of Indianapolis, IN., and Jerry Glass of Radcliff; one sister Sherry Glass of Indianapolis, IN.

Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral with burial in the family cemetery. The 1/623rd National Guard will be providing military honors at the cemetery. Visitation will be after 3:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions make take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society.

Katie Jean Lewis

July 28, 1925 - November 11, 2005

Katie Jean Lewis, 80, Glasgow, died Friday, November 11, 2005, at the Barren County Health Care Center. A daughter of the late Parker and Ella Lewis Jump Pitcock, she was a retired beautician and former sales clerk at Glasgow National Stores. She was a dedicated member of the Columbia Avenue Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons, Nicholas Porter Lewis and wife, Teresa, of Tennessee, and Joseph Richard Lewis and wife, Kathy, of Glasgow; one daughter, Beverly Kaye Davis of Georgia; 9 grandchildren, Amanda Nicole Lewis, Joe Robert Lewis, Aaron Lewis, Renee Bowles, Rebecca Ritter, Regina McKenney, Ruth Ritter, Ryan Ritter and Carolyn Jean Davis; three sisters, Marie Witty, Louise Hutchens and Juanita Cherry all of Bowling Green; a special nephew, Butch Pitcock; 5 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Richard Lewis; one sister, Mary Proffitt; one brother, Hilton Pitcock.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2005, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Elizabeth Baldock Lyons

January 27, 1918 - November 10, 2001

Elizabeth Baldock Lyons, 83, Circle Springs Drive, Glasgow, died Saturday at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville. Born January 27, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Annie Turner Baldock, a retired cafeteria worker at E.B. Terry Elementary School, a member of the New Salem United Methodist Church and the Stitch and Chatter Club.

Survivors include one daughter, Joyce Batson of Louisville; three sons, William H. “Billy” Lyons of Bowling Green, Charles D. “Danny” Lyons of Muscatine, Ohio, and Ronnie Lyons of Glasgow; one brother, Jim Baldock of Bowling Green; one nephew, Donald Baldock of Bowling Green; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond C. Lyons and a daughter, Margaret Lyons Wright.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the New Salem cemetery. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Charles Elmer Jeffries

February 23, 1923 - March 5, 2004

Charles Elmer Jeffries, 81, of Glasgow, died Friday, March 5, 2004 at the T.J. Samson Community Hospital . He was the son of the late Charlie McKinley Jeffries and Mintie Francis Glass Jeffries and the husband of the late Ruby Lee Eaton Jeffries. He was a member of the East Main United Methodist Church and a USMC veteran.

He is survived by three sons: Gary Jeffries and his wife Rita of Glasgow, Darrell Jeffries and his wife Vickie of Sierra Vista, AZ and Neil Jeffries and his wife Vicki of Glasgow; two daughters: Denise Jeffries of Glasgow and Linda Colegrove and her husband Gregory of Branchland, WV; two brothers: Ola J. Jeffries and his wife Jeanette of Park City, KY and Raymond Jeffries and his wife Carolyn of Supply, NC; one sister: Ruth Humphrey of Glasgow; 10 Grand Children and 3 Great-Grand Children, also several nieces and nephews survive.

Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one brother: Delmar Jeffries and two sisters Ora J. Martin and Gladys Jeffries.

Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens . Visitation will be after 12:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the church of your choice or to the Barren County Relay for Life.

Lisa Pruitt

November 19, 1962 - November 9, 2008

Lisa Faye Pruitt, 45, Glasgow, died Sunday, November 09, 2008, at the Medical Center at Bowling Green.

Survivors include one daughter, Courtnie Pruitt; one son, Miles Pruitt, both of Bowling Green; three brothers, James “J.L.” (Bonnie) Pruitt of Glasgow, Mike (Mitzi) Pruitt of Bee Springs, and Robert Turner of Cave City; one sister, Mary Ann Shaw of Glasgow; six grandchildren, Justice, Jekhia, Janea, Jaylon, Kylie and Kadence; lifelong partner, Robert Stockton; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J.T. and Gwendlyn Warf Pruitt; two sons, Robert Wayne and Jason Steven; her maternal grandparents, Lewis and Annie Warf; her paternal grandparents, Lander and Ruby Pruitt.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2008, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Lallah Mitchell

February 15, 1925 - July 31, 2003

Lallah Sanders Mitchell, 78, formerly of Glasgow, died Thursday, July 31, 2003, in Louisville. A daughter of the late Verne and Hattie Devasher Sanders, she was a homemaker.

Survivors include one daughter, Joan Smith and her husband, Gene, of Louisville; one son, Dale Mitchell of Louisville; one granddaughter, Sammi Smith of Louisville; one brother, Kenneth Sanders and his wife, Genetta, of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 8, 2003, at the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens under the direction of the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. There will be no visitation.

Virgie Neeley

September 9, 1926 - April 22, 2004

Virgie Lee Neeley, 77, Glasgow, died Thursday, April 22, 2004, at her residence. She was a daughter of the late Burley and Hallie Jump Neeley. She was a retired co-owner of Gene’s Dress Shop in Glasgow and a member of the Glenview Christian Church, where she taught a Sunday School Class for a number of years.

Survivors include three sisters, Elizabeth Proffitt of Glasgow, Nell Anderson of Milford, Ohio, and Burla Neeley of Hawesville, KY; one niece, Anna Edwards and her husband, Robert, of Glasgow; one nephew, John W. Snow of Muncie; one great-niece, Jennifer Edwards Banks, and one great-nephew, Jeffrey Edwards, both of Bowling Green; a special friend, for whom she had cared since infancy, Brandon Nelson, of Glasgow.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Snow, and a brother, Samuel Wallen Neeley.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2004, at the Glasgow Municipal cemetery . At Ms. Neeley’s request, there will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.

Charline Riddle

1927 - 2001

Charline Mae Riddle, 74 of Glasgow died Saturday, June 23, 2001 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Charles S. Harmon and Annie Mae Johnson Harmon. She was a member of the Neal’s Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Beside her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Eugene (Tunie) Riddle and her son-in-law Mike Houchens.

She is survived by three daughters: Gwen Riddle of Glasgow; Linda Houchens of Glasgow; Pippa Cabriales and her husband Tony of Glasgow; one son: Steve Riddle and his wife Lana of Decatur, Alabama; one grandchild: Lara Riddle; one foster grandchild; Christian Contreras; two sisters; Camilla Lowery of Goshen, KY and Martha Harmon of Glasgow.

Funeral will be 11:00 A. M. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Neal’s Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church or a favorite charity.

Marvin Earl Page

October 10, 1930 - January 22, 2002

Marvin Earl Page, 71, Lick Branch Road, Glasgow, died Tuesday at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. A native of Barren County, he was a son of the late Jennie Jewell Wells and Buford H. Page. He had been a life-long farmer in Barren County and in 1982 he helped to develop the Barren County Farmers Market and then served on its Board of Directors. He had been the caretaker of the George Wells cemetery for the past 35 years and was a member of the Beech Grove Missionary Baptist Church on 1297.

Survivors include his wife, Annie Mae; one son, Marvin Ray Page of Glasgow; two brothers, Maxey Page and his wife, Esther, and William Page and his wife, Roxie all of Hoopeston, IL.; four sisters, Maynard Byers and Mildred Owens of Hoopeston, Louise Boyles of Watseka, IL. And Mazale Pearson and her husband, Rex of Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Harold Wayne Page and one brother, Milton H. Page.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the George Wells cemetery. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Brenda Morris

September 4, 1963 - December 15, 2004

Funeral services for Brenda Faye Lile Morris will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Houk cemetery. Mrs. Morris died Wednesday, December 15 at the Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, Ky. She was 41. She was born in Hardin County and was the daughter of Mitchell Lile and the late Maggie Elizabeth Chaney Harper.

Besides her father she is survived by her husband, Rondal C. Morris; a daughter, Cynthia Morris; three brothers, Thomas Lile and his wife Joann of Horse Cave, KY, Larry Lile and his wife Elaine of Enterprise, AL and Timothy Lile and his wife Gail of Hiseville; a sister-in-law, Rhonwyn Grams and her husband Mark; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be Friday, December 17 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
