Madilyn Morgan

Madilyn Grace Morgan, 6, of Glasgow died Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at Kosairs Children's Hospital in Louisville. She was the daughter of Tony and Donna Bush Morgan. She was in the 1st grade at Red Cross Elementary School.

Besides her parents she is survived by three sisters: Brittney Morgan, Chandler Morgan and Karalyne Morgan; paternal grandparents: Geroge and Katherine Morgan of Glasgow; maternal grandmother: Pam Hawks of Louisville; four aunts: Judy Jeffries of IN, Robin Corbin, Debbie Morgan both of Glasgow and Tina Logsdon of Horse Cave; two uncles: Chris Huff of Leitchfield and Bobby Bush of Cave City.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Russell Bush.

Funeral will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the Coral Hill Baptist Church with Bro. Chad Hunt, Bro. Tim Shirley and Bro. Ray Woodie officiating. Burial will be in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Visitation will be after 12:00 noon Friday at the Coral Hill Baptist Church. Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Verna Ruth Morgan

October 19, 1916 - April 29, 2008

Verna Ruth Pickett Morgan, 91, Glasgow, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. A native of Barren County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Lucy Bowles Pickett. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include four sons, Leonard (Shirley) Morgan of Glasgow, James Morgan of Boston, KY, Richard Morgan of Bloomfield, and Michael (Jan) Morgan of Glasgow; two daughters, Shelby (Rondal) Bush of Glasgow, and Carolyn (Bryant) Sturgeon of Cave City; 10 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren, Tina (David) Burton of Westmoreland, TN, Douglas (Patricia) Bush and Kelly (Janet) Sturgeon all of Glasgow, Jamie (Brandon) Shirley of Cave City, Chris (Stephanie) Morgan of Louisville, Angela Durham of Chaplin, KY, Scott Morgan and Kasey Morgan of Boston, KY, Sara (Kelly) Russell, John Michael (Kara) Morgan, Jeff Hale and Kelly (Chris) Pinkel all of Glasgow; 8 great-grandchildren, Quentin Burton, Cody Bush, Kelsey Sturgeon, Tyler Shirley, Logan Durham, Molly Durham, Bailey Morgan and Madlyn Morgan; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Morgan; one daughter-in-law, Virginia Mills Morgan; one step-granddaughter, Ginger Beckner; three sisters, Mattie Pickett, Mae Crawford and Ada Polson; three brothers, Paul Pickett, Raymond Pickett and Hall Pickett; one half-sister, Mamah McCoy; three half-brothers, Harry Pickett, Willie Pickett and Amos Pickett.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2008, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Katie Shive Lacy

Katie Shive Lacy age 88 of Glasgow died Thursday July 3, 2003 at the NHCHealthcare. She was the daughter of the late Bruce and Surennie Poore McKinney. She was a member of the Missionary Mound Baptist Church inMetcalfe County.

She is survived by one daughter: Margaret Perkins and her husband Larry of Glasgow. Two Grandchildren: Paula Manning and her husband Chris of Ft. Thomas, Kentucky and Bart Hammer and his wife Heather of Glasgow. Four Great Grandchildren: Chelsea and Jacob Manning of Ft. Thomas, Tyler and Hadleigh Hammer of Glasgow. Two Step Grandchildren: Angie Meredith of Bowling Green and Alisa Bewley of Glasgow. Three Step Great Grandchildren: Katelyn and Daniel Meredith of Bowling Green and Kodi Bewley of Glasgow.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands: Raymond (Shorty) Shive and Johnny Lacy. One Brother and four sisters.

Funeral will be 2:00 PM Sunday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Missionary Mound Baptist Church cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 PM on Saturday.

Mildred Riley

Mildred Lucille Riley, 80, formerly of Barren County, died Thursday in Murphysboro, Illinois. A native of Parma, Missouri, she was a daughter of the late Hettie Mae Reames and George Washington Adams. She was the widow of the late William Franklin Riley, a homemaker and a member of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include six children, Bill (Cheri) Riley of Campbell Hill, IL, Ruth (Wayne) Nemitz of Wisconsin Dells, WI, Nellie (Jim) Engelhardt of Pinckneyville, IL, Ellen Riley and Dallas Patterson of Anacortes, WA, Frank (Di) Riley of Murphysboro, Sam (Jan) Riley of Anna, IL; 21 grandchildren, Pam Maloof, Melanie Denny, Cheryl Vessels, Debbie Wray, Michael Riley, Bonnie MacPherson, Frankie Hamlin, Milton Hamlin, Pat Collins, Cassy Lee, Jesse Riley, Abe Nemitz, Heather Nemitz, Zach Nemitz, Cathy Troue, Patrick Riley, Heath Riley, Nick Riley, Christine Miller, Alan Engelhardt and Talitha Engelhardt; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Cletis (Norma) Adams of Makanda, IL; one sister, Juanita Stephens of Cambria, IL; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Adams of Cobden, IL and Barbara Heern of Makanda, IL.

Local survivors include four nieces, Charlotte Rigdon, Ivone Broady, Ruth Edmunds and Roberta Botts; several great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three step-daughters, Pearl Riley, Bessie Riley and Maggie Hamlin; one stepson, Jim Riley; three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Saturday at the Wilson Funeral Home in Ava, IL and after 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Alzheimer’s Research.

Gwen Riddle

1946 - 2008

Gwendolyn Carol Riddle, 62, Glasgow, died Saturday, October 11, 2008, at the Greenview Hospital in Bowling Green. A daughter of the late Eugene “Tunnie” and Charline Harmon Riddle, she was a member of the Neal’s Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Gwen was a retired Ward Clerk and Medical Records Clerk at T. J. Samson Hospital after 37 years of service.

Gwen is survived by two sisters, Linda Houchens and Pippa Cabriales and her husband, Tony; one brother, Steve Riddle and his wife, Cheryl; one niece, Lara Riddle; two aunts, Camilla Lowery and Martha Harmon; three uncles, Billy Holmes and wife, Edith, William Earl Holmes and Floyd Holmes and wife, Betty. Two special friends: Ashley Burke and Kelton Burke.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Neal’s Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

John Henry Love

September 21, 1924 - November 24, 2002

John Henry Love, Jr., 78, Hiseville, died Sunday at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. A native of Barren County, he was the son of the late Pauline Summers and John Henry Love, Sr. He was involved in Oil and Gas Leasing, Exploration and Production during his entire life. His namesake is now carried by the John Henry Oil Corporation. He was a member of the Hiseville Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Martha; two daughters, Carolyn Turner of Cave City and Connie Love of New Orleans; four sons, Dennis Love, Jerry Love, Ronnie Love and Dwight Love all of Hiseville; one sister, Emogene Clark of Louisville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville cemetery. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Dale Wilson Peaco

August 26, 1915 - June 6, 2001

Dean Wilson Peaco, 85, North Race Street, Glasgow, died Wednesday at his residence. A native of Otis Field, Maine, he was a son of the late Ernest D. and Marle Whittom Peaco. He was a retired carpenter, road commissioner and hunting and fishing guide in Maine and a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice; two daughters, Vera M. Emmitt and her husband, Floyd of Glasgow, and Christine Longley of Maine; one step-daughter, Linda Ridlon and her husband, C.L. of Maine; 12 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen J. Carpenter Peaco.

Memorial graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at the Rayville Church cemetery in Otis Field, Maine. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.

Steven Carroll Nunn

October 18, 1963 - November 29, 2008

Steven Carroll Nunn, 45, Glasgow, died Saturday, November 29, 2008, at his residence. A native of Barren County, he was the son of Jack and Lois Hunley Nunn of Glasgow, a former employee of R. R. Donnelley & Son and former delivery person for Greer’s Florist. He was a member of the Glasgow Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his parents, survivors include one son, Jacob Nunn of Bowling Green; one daughter, Paige Nunn of Glasgow; one step-daughter, Cheyanne Wilcoxson of Burkesville; two sisters, Jacqueline Nunn Turner and husband, Curtis, of Waterview, and Sherry Nunn Waldrop and husband, Kevin, of Glasgow; paternal grandmother, Edes Nunn of Edmonton; 6 nieces and nephews; several aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2008, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Pleasant Hill cemetery at Randolph. Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Glasgow Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Donald Wayne Pedigo

April 5, 1951 - April 30, 2004

Donald Wayne Pedigo, 53 of Glasgow, died Friday, April 30, 2004 at his residence. He is survived locally by his wife, Sheila Furlong Pedigo and by a son, Anthony Scott Pedigo. His parents, Harvey and Elizabeth Arms Pedigo also survive. He is survived by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, William and Nancy Sindledecker of Naples, Florida . Several aunts and uncles, brother and sister in-laws also survive.

Mr. Pedigo was an aircraft technician for Fruit of the Loom. He was an

Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of Peter’s Creek Church of Christ and was recently attending East Main Street Church of Christ.

Funeral services for Mr. Pedigo will be held at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home Sunday, May 2, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. with entombment in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery . Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2004 at the Funeral Home.

Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to your favorite charity.

Earl Thomas Livesay

May 21, 1925 - December 5, 2004

Earl Thomas Livesay, 79, Glasgow, died Sunday, December 5, 2004, at the Barren County Health Care Center. A native of Barren County, he was a son of the late Jack and Maudie Jackson Livesay.

Mr. Livesay was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, and was a member of the Honor Guard that served as body guards to Gen. Douglas McArthur. He was an Excellent Marksman and continued to compete in trap shooting until around 1990.

He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, having joined the Nazarene denomination in 1949.

Survivors include his wife, Golda Wallace Livesay; one daughter, Judy Warner and her husband, Gary, of Glasgow ; two granddaughters, Dawn and Deborah; one brother, Robert Livesay; one aunt, Mattie Steenbergen of Lucas; 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2004, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be provided by Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

William W. Lytle, Sr.

1912-2001

William W. Lytle, Sr., 88, of Edmonton died Wednesday, February 21, 2001 at the Glenview Nursing Home. He was born in Erie, PA. He was the son of the late George B. Lytle and Effie Carr Lytle. He was a retired U.S. Army Major and a Professional Engineer.

He is survived by two sons: William W. Lytle, Jr. of Edmonton, Ky. and Richard A. Lytle of Naples, Fl. one brother: Neal A. Lytle of St. Maartin Island. Four grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ellen Pullin Lytle of Mt. Sterling, Ohio in 1981.

There was a memorial service 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the Mt. Sterling cemetery in Mt. Sterling, Ohio.

Cathy Nifong

December 8, 1960 - May 13, 2002

Cathy Nifong, 41, Morrison Park Road, Glasgow, died Monday at her residence. A native of Barren County, she was a daughter of the late James Bowles and Ruby Slayton Kettles and a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Jackie; two sons, Christopher Allen Nifong and James Glen Nifong both of Glasgow; one daughter, Jacqualine Renee Circle and her husband, Casey, of Glasgow; one granddaughter, Alexis Faith Circle; four brothers, Jerry Bowles, Mike Bowles, Billy Bowles and Brian Bowles all of Glasgow; three sisters, Martha Wren, Sandra Johnson and Margaret Fowler all of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Bowles cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
