Kerry Duane Monroe, 50, of Smiths Grove died Thursday, March 28, 2002 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was the son of the late Keith Derling Monroe and Arlene Pillars Monroe. He was an employee of the Corvette Plant in Bowling Green and a member of the UAW.
He is survived by his wife Colleen Shabeeb; one son: Duane James Monroe and his wife Amy of School Craft. Michigan; one daughter: Cathy Monroe of Hudsonville, Michigan; two brothers: Ron Monroe and his wife Rebecca of Troy, Montana and Mark Monroe and his wife Cheryl of Newaygo, Michigan; one sister: Linda Monroe of Prasco, Arkansas; four nephews: David Vasicek and his wife Renee of Grandrapids, Michigan, Hassett Monroe of Montana State University, Mark and Keith Monroe of Newaygo, Michigan; one niece: Deanetta McCauldy and her husband Sean of Denver, Colorado; one step-nephew: Scott Wismar of Newaygo, Michigan and one step-niece Becky Ech of Newaygo, Michigan.
The body was cremated.
Roger Wayne Nichols
September 23, 1938 - November 15, 2005
Roger Wayne Nichols, 67, Smiths Grove, died Tuesday, November 15, 2005, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. A native of Allen County, he was a son of the late Logan and Eula Dillard Nichols. He was a retired maintenance worker at Firestone and Parkview Apartments in Glasgow and a former security guard at Dickerson Lumber Company. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah; two daughters, Trish Botts of Glasgow and Gloria A. Harris of Edmonton; three grandsons, Micheal Nichols of Glasgow and Joseph and Dylan Harris of Edmonton; five great-grandchildren, Samara of Glasgow, Taylor, Nicholas, Nathaniel and Aiden of Edmonton; one sister, Susie Keith of Glasgow; two brothers, Frank Nichols of Park City and G. C. Nichols of Louisville; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Timmy Nichols.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 17, 2005, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Wells officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Hill cemetery. Friends may call after 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Virgil Pennington
March 26, 1941 - October 11, 2006
Virgil L. Pennington, 65, Glasgow, died Wednesday, October 11, 2006, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. A native of Knott County, he was a son of the late Clyde and Trella Pennington, a truck driver and a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Anna; 5 daughters, Della Vaughn and husband, Luther, Karen Whitlow, Jennifer Hobart and husband, Jerry, Gina Oaks and Melissa Pennington, all of Glasgow; one son, Virgil Pennington, Jr. of Ohio; four grandchildren, Caleb Vaughn, Blake Hobart, Chandler Smith and Trinity Smith; two brothers, Scotty and Paul, both of Ohio; six sisters, Rissie Mae, Carolyn, Judy, Patty and Shirley all of Ohio and Georgie of California; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Debbie.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2006, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Virgil J. Morrison
September 28, 1915 - March 17, 2007
Virgil Jones “Mutt” Morrison, 91, Hiseville, died Saturday, March 17, 2007, at the NHC Health Care Center. A son of the late Virgil and Clara Jones, Morrison, he was a retired carpenter and a 50 year member of the Hiseville Masonic Lodge #787. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, having served in the European Theatre and receiving 5 battle stars. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include three children, Betty Simmons and husband, Bobby, of Austin, and Joyce Steen and husband, Doug, of Glasgow; James Wesley “Bubba” Morrison and wife, Linda, of Hiseville; one sister, Gladys Craddock and one brother, Gordon Morrison and wife, Marcella, all of Hiseville; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Inez Morrison both of Hiseville; 7 grandchildren, Steve Simmons and wife, Laura, of Austin, Joyce Bray and husband, Philip Minex, of Austin, Paula Brooks and husband, Terry, of Glasgow, Janet Bellamy and husband, Mark, of Park City, Jamie Morrison and wife, Ladonna and Todd Morrison and wife, Danyel, all of Hiseville, and Jennifer Pursley and husband, Darold, of Glasgow; 10 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Irene Edwards Morrison; one grandchild, Kimberly Simmons; three brothers, David, Winston and Wesley Morrison.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2007, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville cemetery. Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Masonic services will be held 4:00 p.m. Sunday.
Gloria Ann Rutledge
August 3, 1945 - August 3, 2001
Gloria Ann Rutledge, 56, of Glasgow died Friday, August 3, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. She was the daughter of Clydean Patterson Dickerson and the late Willie Jewell Dickerson. She was the food service manger at the E. B. Terry Elementary School were she had worked for 14 years.
Besides her mother she is survived by her husband: William Mac Rutledge; Two daughters: Tina Brown and her husband Keith; Beth Ryan and her husband Mark; One son: Brad Rutledge; Five grandchildren: Ben Brown, Tyler Brown, Jessica Brown, Austin Rutledge and Heather Ryan all of Glasgow; One sister Roberta Hawkins of Cave City. Besides her father she was preceded in death by on grandchild Taylor Brown.
Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Monday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Visitation will be after 11:00 A. M. Sunday at the funeral home.
Pernie Wheeler McCawley

Pernie M. Wheeler McCawley, 90, Glasgow, died Sunday, January 19, 2003 at the Barren County Health Care Center. She was the daughter of the late John and Ida Mesker Smith.
She is survived by two sons: Richard Wheeler, Sr. and his wife Eva of Glasgow and Rex Wheeler and his wife Linda of Summer Shade; two daughters: Mary Campbell and her husband Frank and Rebecca Taylor both of Glasgow; two brothers: William Smith and his wife Sarah of Columbus, IN and Ellis Smith of Glasgow; fourteen grandchildren; Several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands C. R. Wheeler and Ramcey McCawley; three brothers: Moss, Frank and Arthur Smith; two sisters: Lillie Estes and Dellar McCluskey; two grandsons: Tony Lynn Wheeler and Stephen Stinnett.
Funeral will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Robert Ristori, Jr.
April 26, 1931 - May 25, 2008
Robert Ristori, Jr., 77, Glasgow, died Sunday, May 25, 2008, at the NHC Health Care Center. He was the son of the late Marie Spadard and Robert Ristori, Sr. and a member of the St. Helen Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include cousins along with his caregivers, Shirley Wilson and Richard Morgan of Glasgow.
Private burial services will be held at the Glasgow Municipal cemetery under the direction of the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
Billy Joe Owens
August 21, 1959 - November 8, 2003
Billy Joe Owens, 44, Garmon Street, Glasgow, died Saturday at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital . A native of Adair County, he was a son of Laradine Burton Owens of Glasgow and the late Russell Owens. He was a former employee of National Wood Products.
Other survivors include two daughters, Sheena Hewitt and her husband, Kelly, of Frankfort, and Markita Hunt and her husband, Justin, of Glasgow; one grandson, Denver Hunt; his special friend, Pamela Crews of Glasgow; two brothers, David Owens of Glasgow and Jimmy Owens of Horse Cave; two sisters, Ann Owens and Connie Neal both of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Owens.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal cemetery . Friends may call after 5:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Lisa Bray Nason, 44, Glasgow, died Monday, December 12, 2005, at Vanderbilt Medical Center. She was a server at Wendy’s in Glasgow.
Survivors include her father, James Gaylord Bray; one sister, Kathy Hagan and husband, Richard; two brothers, Jimmy Bray and wife, Stella, and John Bray and wife, Trina; five nieces and nephews. Michael and Timmy Hagan, Barbara Crockett, Vanessa and Amber Bray.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Jewell Algerine Perkins Bray; maternal grandparents, George and Merdie Perkins; paternal grandparents, Rosie Bray and Offie Bray.

Dora Lee Polson, 90, Glasgow, died Sunday, May 2, 2004, at her residence. A daughter of the late Andrew and Melinda Jackson Britt, she was a homemaker, a member of the Peters Creek Baptist Church and an avid needleworker.
Survivors include one son, Buford Edwards Smith of Jasper, GA; one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Moore of Glasgow ; five grandchildren, Philip E. Smith of Pittsburgh, Reed N. Moore, Jr. of Tompkinsville, Jama Budke of Kansas City, MO, C. Craig Smith of Knoxville and Alison Marie Wildermuth of Woodstock, GA; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother, Hubert Britt of Haywood; two step-sons, Stanley Polson and Howard Polson both of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Buford B. Smith and Glan Polson; five sisters and two brothers.

Elizabeth Lane Nelson, 99, Glasgow, died Saturday at the Barren County Health Care Center. A native of Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Ewing and Minnie Mae Batdorf Lane. She was a homemaker, a former real estate salesperson and a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Sandra Taylor and her husband, Joe Donald, of Glasgow; one son, James H. Nelson, Jr. and his wife, Diane, of South Carolina; six grandchildren, Greg Nelson (Machelle) of Michigan, Doug Nelson (Debbie) of Ohio, Don Taylor (Sally) of Glasgow, Jim Taylor (Becky) of Scottsville, Martha Lane Crawford (Elbert) of Georgia, and Liza Belle Taylor of Glasgow; nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Henry Nelson; a daughter-in-law, Anita Cogan Nelson; two sisters, Celein Thomas and Mattaleen Simmons; and one brother, Carl C. Lane.
