Clarence E. "Mickey" Hall, 65, of 3832 Kipling Drive, Owensboro, died Thursday, July 12, 2001, at his son's home in Whitesville. The Ohio County native retired as a millwright from Local Union 1080 and was a member of National Drag Racers Association.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Brown Hall; a son, Mark Hall of Philpot; two daughters, Patti Andriakos of Owensboro and Tracey Glasscock of Leitchfield; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Services are at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at James H. Davis Funeral Home chapel in Owensboro. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove cemetery in Sorgho. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Edith A. Johnson Deweese
(February 12, 1913 - January 5, 2012)

Edith A. Johnson Deweese, 98, of Bowling Green was born February 12, 1913 and passed away January 5, 2012 at the Hospice Center of Southern Kentucky. The Butler County native was a homemaker and retired from Holley Carburetor and a member of St. James United Methodist Church. Edith was the daughter of the late Thomas Isaiah Johnson and Zelma Viles Johnson and the wife of the late Clarence Bradley "C.B." Deweese. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Johnson of Louisville and three sisters, Norma Johnson Graves of Bowling Green, Vera Johnson Dabbs, of Morgantown and Katherine Mae Johnson Hines of Beaver Dam, and a son, Jerry Phillip Deweese of Middletown, KY Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm Friday, January 6, 2012 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home with burial in Fairview cemetery. Funeral Services will be at 11:30 am Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Southern Kentucky. Survivors include a daughter, Doris Deweese Hargis of Bowling Green; a son, William Larry Deweese and his wife, Barbara Murrell Deweese of Germantown, TN; daughter-in-law, Carole Straub Deweese of Middletown, KY; grandchildren, Cindy Whittaker and her husband, Bob of Bowling Green, Marilyn Guy of Bowling Green, Suzanne Garrity and her husband, Steve of Hendersonville, TN, Jimmy Deweese and his wife, Cindy of Collierville, TN, Lisa Reynolds and her husband, Jay of Olive Branch, MS, Jay Deweese and his wife, LuAnn of Lexington, NC and Leigh Wigginton and her husband, Phil of Springhill, TN; 13 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Kenneth Aubrey Nicely
(February 25, 1938 - December 25, 2011)

Dr. Kenneth Aubrey Nicely, age 73, died of pancreatic cancer at 5:30 pm on December 25 at the Hospice Center. He was a native of Slab Fork, WV. He was a Professor of Biology Emeritus, having achieved BS and MS degrees at West Virginia University and PhD at North Carolina State University. He taught at Virginia Polytechnic Institute for three years before joining the faculty at Western Kentucky University in 1966. Dr. Nicely was a member of State Street United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Aubrey Nicely and Nina McGrady Nicely and brother, Philip David Nicely. He is survived by his wife, Alice Brown Nicely; daughters, Leslie Ann Newman (Steve) of Scottsville and Heather Elizabeth Kirtley (Sam) of Alvaton; grandchildren, Alicyn Newman, Josiah Newman, Trey Kirtley and Taylor Kirtley; sisters, Hazel Nicely Large (Kenneth) and Mona Nicely Farley (Don); four nieces and a nephew, and seven great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, December 29 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Friday, December 30 at 1:00 pm at State Street United Methodist Church with visitation prior to the service from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery. Curtis H. Crenshaw

Curtis H. Crenshaw, 85, of Owensboro, formerly of Caldwell County, died Thursday, July 19, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System after a short illness. The Caldwell County native was a truck driver for the state highway department and a member of Crosspointe Baptist Church in Owensboro. His wife, Alta Mae Morse Crenshaw, died April 12, 1999.

Survivors include a daughter, Nadine Gray of Owensboro; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Morgan's Funeral Home in Princeton. Burial will be in Liberty Church cemetery in Caldwell County. Visitation is from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Henry Pillow
(May 13, 1923 - December 23, 2011)

Henry Pillow, 88, passed away December 23, 2011 at Greenview Hospital. He was a member of Fairview Memorial Missionary Baptist Church since 1957, and also served as Treasurer for 18 years. He loved his church very much.

He retired from Holley in 1985 and opened a shop at home where he worked until he was 84.

He went into service in WWII and served in the European Theater as a paratrooper with the Thirteenth Airborne Division.

He loved old cars and loved to rebuild them. He built a little green Ford Truck; I guess you saw it and never another one like it. He was a lifetime member of the Street-Rod Association.

He was born on May 13, 1923, to the late Joseph Pillow and Lennis Harlan Pillow. He was preceded in death by one son, Richard Henry Pillow, seven brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Flora King Pillow; one son, Larry Joe King and his wife, Shirley; two grandchildren, Michael King and Dawn Bump; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral is at 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home. Visitation is from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday December 27, 2011 and from 11:00 am until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Ethel Elizabeth Hedden

FORDSVILLE -- Ethel Elizabeth Hedden, 82, of Fordsville died Wednesday, July 11, 2001, at Fordsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The Fordsville native was a housewife and member of Fordsville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, William "Bill" Hedden; and a daughter, Debbie Hedden.

Survivors include her husband, Lewis Hedden; three sons, George "Pat" Hedden and Larry Hedden, both of Reynolds Station, and Harold Thomas Hedden of Fordsville; two daughters, Betty Blanton of Fordsville and Faye Merritt of Reynolds Station; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday at Fordsville Baptist Church. Burial will be in Fordsville cemetery. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Geary Funeral Home in Fordsville.

Helen Davis O'Neal

LEWISBURG -- Helen Davis O'Neal, 67, of Lewisburg died Saturday, May 19, 2001, at Logan Memorial Hospital in Russellville. The Central City native retired from Kleen Rite as a cleaner and was a member of Church of God of Prophecy.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Roland O' Neal; two sons, Danny O'Neal of Lewisburg and David O' Neal of Russellville; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her mother, Neoma Drury of Central City; two brothers, George Davis of Madisonville and Roy Wayne Davis of Central City; three sisters, Viola Erwin of Beechmont, Juanita Russ of Evansville and Anna Shenkman of Gresham, Ore.; and an aunt.

Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Price Funeral Home in Lewisburg. Burial will be in Fitzhugh cemetery in Lewisburg. Visitation is after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Murrel Rickman
(November 2, 1932 - December 22, 2011)

Murrel Rickman, 79, of Bowling Green died at 2:06 pm, Thursday, December 22, 2011 at The Medical Center. The Mayfield, KY native was born November 2, 1932 a son of the late Barney Bell Rickman and Carrie Lee Jaggers Rickman. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Glen Rickman. Mr. Rickman was a graduate Lowes High School in Graves county Kentucky, where he was a star basketball player. He continued to play basketball throughout his life and was known for his accuracy with his one handed set shot. Mr. Rickman earned both his B.S. and M.A. degrees from Murray State University where he lettered in track. He was a Korean war army veteran. Mr. Rickman was a former principal and teacher and had over 30 years of experience in Life Insurance, six years as an Agent and 25 years in Insurance Management. He was a member of the National Association of Life Underwriters and served as the State President of the Kentucky Life Underwriters. Mr. Rickman taught night classes on Insurance at Bowling Green Business College and pioneered a Life and Health course for the State Vocational Education Department which is now being used state-wide. He was a LUTC Graduate and LUTC Instructor; past Secretary/Treasurer, Vice President, and President of the Kentucky Association of Life Underwriters and was presently serving as a National Committeeman. He held the Top 10 in Sales in Kentucky for 3 years; Top Agent of the Month twice; Met Regional Quota 2 out of 3 years; served at the National Convention; received the 25 year Service Pin and served as Regional Manager with AFLAC. While working with Lincoln American Life he was a member of the Presidents Club; Executive Club; App-a-Week Club; Honor Club; attended 7 National Conventions and received a 15 year Service Pin. He was a leading Salesman in Kentucky for the Standard Life Insurance Company. Other accomplishments include memberships in the LUPAC Century Club; The Aeolian Lodge; Audubon Council for the Boy Scouts of America and the Western Kentucky University 100 Club. He was a Boy Scout Leader, a Coach for the Babe Ruth Baseball League, a member of the Chamber of Commerce Education Committee, and served on the Bowling Green High School Advisory Council. Mr. Rickman was an active member of Eastwood Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School Teacher and Usher. He was a master hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed, swimming, boating, basketball, golf and tennis. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Lamb Rickman of Bowling Green; two sons, Mitchell Rickman and his wife Kim and Mark Rickman all of Bowling Green; one brother, Rev. Barney Eugene Rickman of Smyrna, TN; one sister, Nancy Yvonne Loo (Wing M. Loo) of Cleveland, TN; two grandchildren, Natalie Rickman of Bowling Green and Melissa Rickman of Baltimore, MD; Several Nieces and Nephews. He will be greatly missed. Stacy Lynn Payne

DALE, Ind. -- Stacy Lynn Payne, 15, of Dale died Wednesday, July 11, 2001, at University of Louisville Hospital. She was a member of Heritage Hills class of 2004, an honor roll student and ranked in the top 10 percent of her class. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, student council and the school band. She had been a cheerleader and worked at Jenk's Pizza in Dale.

Survivors include her parents, Roger and Julie Payne of Dale; her grandparents, Fred and Joann Anders of Chrisney, Ind., and Margaret C. Payne of Rockport, Ind.; a brother, Brian Payne, at home; and a sister, Melissa Payne, at home.

Services are at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dale. Memorial services are at 7 p.m. Sunday at Fuller Funeral Home and Crematory, Dale chapel. Visitation is after 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Heritage Hills Scholarship Foundation.

Sheri S. Cook
(May 17, 1969 - November 9, 2011)

Sheri S. Cook, 42 of Bowling Green, died at 8:46 am, Wednesday at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. The Marion, Indiana native was a graduate of Seton Hall University, where she received a Masters Degree. She was a Social Worker and was a member of The Bethany Church of Christ in Orlinda, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her father, Ray Music; her maternal grandparents, Mitchell and Geneva Delong; and her paternal grandparents, Alex and Mary Music. She is survived by her husband, William T. Cook of Bowling Green; her mother, Doris A. Delong Music of Marion, Indiana; three grandchildren; two step-daughters. LOUISVILLE -- Stella M. Fleener, 81, of Louisville died there Thursday, July 19, 2001, at Caritas Medical Center. The Ohio County native was a housewife and a Christian.

Survivors include two sons, James E. Fleener of Louisville and Charles Fleener of Maukport, Ind.; two daughters, Carolyn Sue Isaacs of Milltown, Ind., and Janet I. Stephens of Turlock, Calif.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Cecil L. Daugherty and Chuck Daugherty.

Services are at 11 a.m. EDT Saturday at Owen Funeral Home in Louisville. Graveside services are at 1:30 p.m. CDT Saturday at Memorial Gardens in Leitchfield. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. EDT today at the funeral home.

Sabrina Verenize Murillo Espinoza
(July 21, 2011 - October 31, 2011)

Sabrina Verenize Murillo Espinoza, 3 month old daughter of Nelson and Morena Murillo Espinoza, died Monday at Vanderbilt University Hospital. In addition to her parents she is survived by one sister, Ana Nicole Espinoza; her parental grandmother, Ana Iris Espinozo; two uncles, Frank Espinoza and Keven Espinoza. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 am - 10:30 am at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home.

Murray G. Crask
20 July 2001

Murray G. Crask, 87, of 2705 Daviess St., Owensboro, died Wednesday, July 18, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Birk City native retired in 1978 from Glenmore Distillery after 33 years and was a member of Buena Vista Baptist Church. He enjoyed University of Kentucky basketball and Atlanta Braves baseball and was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Hettie B. Crask; two sons, Don Crask of Owensboro and Larry Crask of Houston; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sudie Carrie Sapp of Owensboro.

Services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday and after noon Sunday at the funeral home.

Donald Adamaitis

He was preceded in death by his brother, Teddy Adamaitis. He was a maintenance employee for Clayton Homes, a Navy Veteran and of the Catholic Faith. Kathleen Purvis, 94, of Hermitage Manor in Owensboro died there Thursday, July 12, 2001. The Logan County native was a member of United Methodist Temple in Russellville. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Douglas Purvis.

Survivors include a son, James Douglas Purvis Jr. of Littleton, Colo.; two daughters, Jo Ann Waltrip of Owensboro and Joyce Everett of Louisville; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.

Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Funeral Home, Inc. in Russellville. Burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery in Russellville. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to United Memorial Temple in Russellville.

Oscar Austin Carter

HARTFORD -- Oscar Austin Carter, 83, of Sunnydale died Wednesday, July 18, 2001, at his home. The Centertown native was a farmer and member of Centertown Tabernacle Church. His wife, Juanita Paris Carter, died in 1987.

Survivors include a son, Carroll Carter of Hartford; a daughter, Patricia Carter Rose of Marion, N.C.; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Anna Tinsley of Livermore and Geneva McCormick of Hartford.

Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at Duke-Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Hartford. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery in Hartford. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Ohio County Hospice.

Susan Lauer
(October 11, 1942 - October 18, 2011)

Susan Lauer Susan Lauer, 69, of Bowling Green died Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Greenview Regional Hospital. She was born October 11, 1942, in Birmingham, MI, a daughter of the late Keith Bliss and Ruth Bliss. She was preceded in death by her husband, Authur P. Lauer, a son, John William Plumb, and sister, Linda Liston Mrs. Lauer was the retired owner of Century 21, Chagrin Valley Realty and was a property manager. She was a living example of God's love, kindness and humility to those she met. Survivors include one son, David Plumb of Bowling Green; three grandchildren, Mariah Bliss Plumb, Griffin Thomas Plumb and Christopher David Plumb; five step-children, Lyn, Cindi, Flip, Deedee and Ted.

Henry Albert Bruner

HAWESVILLE -- Henry Albert Bruner, 94, of Hawesville died Wednesday, July 18, 2001, at Breckinridge Memorial Extended Care in Hardinsburg. The Hancock County native owned and operated Bruner Facing Slip Co. from 1923 to 1973 and enjoyed photography, travel, genealogy and yard and garden work. He was secretary of Men's Bible Class at Hawesville Baptist Church for more than 55 years and had 50 years of perfect attendance in Sunday school. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Bruner, in 1988; and a son, Raymond Bruner, in 1982.

Survivors include a son, Harlan Bruner of Old Hickory, Tenn.; a daughter, Betty Preston of Hardinsburg; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Irma Siburt of Kokomo, Ind., and Thelma Robertson of Hawesville; and several nephews and nieces.

Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hawesville Baptist Church. Burial will be in Blackford Baptist Church cemetery near Hawesville. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today and until 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Gibson & Son Funeral Home in Hawesville.

Charles E. Estes
(November 29, 1930 - October 12, 2011)

Charles E. Estes, 80, of Bowling Green died at 2:30 am Wednesday, October 12, 2011 . The Allen County native was born November 29, 1930, a son of the late John Estes and Mae Buttrum Estes. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Word Estes, three brothers, John Estes, Jr., Bobby Gene Estes and Harold Estes and one sister, Lorene Weaver. Mr. Estes was a truck driver and a Korean War Army Veteran. Survivors include his daughter, Cathy Estes Willoughby (Kevin) of Bowling Green; one sister, Wilma Smith of Kansas City, Kansas; one grandchild, Josh Willoughby and several nieces and nephews.
