Michelle Vantrease Perkins, 48, of Rockfield, Kentucky passed away Monday, March 30, 2015 at the Medical Center. She is preceded in death by her father, James Harris Vantrease. Ms. Perkins received her associates degree from Western Kentucky University Nursing School and was a member of Order of the Eastern Star.

Ms. Perkins is survived by her son, Matthew Harris West of Bowling Green, KY; mother, Jane Vantrease Brown; step-father, Kelly Brown; brother, Mike Vantrease (Anita) of Bowling Green, KY; Aunt and Uncle, Sandra and Alvin Groves of Franklin, KY; five nieces and nephews; special friend, Nolan Frazier of Woodburn, KY. Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 3, 2015 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home with burial to follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday, April 2, 2015 from 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home. .

William Howard Browning

GREENVILLE -- William Howard Browning, 72, of Greenville died there Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital. The Muhlenberg County native retired as a farmer and from Goodyear Co. in Madisonville, was a deacon at Cave Spring Baptist Church for 28 years and an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda "Vincent" Browning; a son, William Forrest Browning of Greenville; a daughter, Barbara Cobb of Greenville; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Larry Browning of Oskaloosa, Kan.; and a sister, Adelle Dukes of Greenville.

Services are at 1 p.m. today at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in Cave Spring cemetery in Muhlenberg County.

Mary Evon Thomas
(May 4, 1929 - March 15, 2015)

Mrs. Mary Evon Thomas, 85, of Bowling Green, KY passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow, KY. She was the daughter of the late Buren and Vallie Bratton Carder. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Buren Thomas, two sisters, Allie Ray Lawrence and Polly Tarry, and a brother, Calvin Carder.

Mrs. Thomas was a member of Three Forks Church of Christ.

She is survived by a special niece, Margaret Woodcock (Owen); a niece, Bonnie Vance (Jerry); a nephew, James Tarry (Geraldine); three great nephews, Desper Cochran (Teresa), Brad Cochran (Kristina), and Chris Garrison (Kara); a great niece, Delisha Smith (Russell); several great-great nieces and nephews; two step-sons, Darrell Thomas (Christine) and Ricky Thomas; and a step-daughter, Wanda Cook.

Funeral services will take place Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home with burial to follow at Fairview cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 3:00 - 8:00 pm, and Wednesday from 8:00 am until the time of the service at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home.

Forrest R. Boyd

CHRISNEY, Ind. -- Forrest R. Boyd, 71, of Chrisney died Monday, July 30, 2001, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville. The Evansville native was a retail store owner and member of St. Martin's Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Montgomery Boyd; 10 sons, Stephen, Paul, Mark, David, Kenny, Lenny, Roland, Larry, Andy and Patrick; five daughters, Sue, Nora, Shirley, Mary and Paula; 29 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and four brothers, Edward, Jack, Francis and John.

Services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Chrisney. Burial will be in St. Martin's Church cemetery in Chrisney. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Youngblood Funeral Home in Chrisney. Memorial services are at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Bobby Garrett
(October 25, 1924 - March 14, 2015)

Bobby Cole Garrett, 90, of Bowling Green, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Magnolia Village. Mrs. Garrett was the daughter of the late Rollin Samuel Cole and Dora Mae Cole. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Bruce Garrett.

Mrs. Garrett attended Bowling Green Business University. She was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church and Ladies Red Hat Society. Mrs. Garrett is survived by one son, Stephen Garrett of Tucson, AZ; two nieces, Pricilla Martin of Bowling Green, KY.

Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Fairview cemetery. Service provided by Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home.

Robert W. Mulzer
3 July 2001

EVANSTON, Ind. -- Robert W. Mulzer, 70, of Evanston died Sunday, July 1, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The New Boston, Ind., native was an Army veteran, a retired rural mail carrier and a retired farmer. He was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church, a New Boston volunteer fireman, and enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing cards.

Survivors include his wife, Arlene Mulzer; two sons, Dennis Mulzer and Michael Mulzer, both of Evanston; a daughter, Donna Mulzer of Columbus, Ind.; two stepgrandsons; a brother, William Mulzer of Evanston; and two sisters, Selma Hagerdon of Troy, Ind., and Cornelia Mulzer of Louisville.

Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Lutheran Church in Evanston. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Church cemetery in Evanston. Full military rites will be conducted by St. Meinrad Legion. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home in Tell City, Ind. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. John Building Fund or Lutheran Hour.

Lynn R. Miller
(April 20, 1932 - February 13, 2015)

U.S. Veteran
Lynn R. Miller, 82, passed away February 13, 2015 at The Medical Center. He was born on April 20, 1932 in Louisville, Kentucky. He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Edith Miller. Mr. Miller was of the Presbyterian faith. He is a University of Louisville graduate with having earned his Associates in Arts degree in 1959 and Bachelor of Science in commerce in 1961. He retired as an accountant, and served in the Navy as a Store Keeper G 2nd class during the Korean War. He was commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel on November 28, 1961.

Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Bette Jo Berg Miller; three daughters, Mara Jo Miller of Franklin, KY, Jennifer Baker (Rick) of Bowling Green, and Katrina Cobb (David) of Bowling Green; a sister, Norma J. Miller of Bowling Green; five grandchildren, Jeffrey Howard of Franklin, KY, Michael Basham of Brownsville, KY, Bradley Howard of Franklin, KY, Benjamin Basham of Bowling Green, and Austin Norman of Bowling Green; and three great grandchildren, Samuel Howard, Zachary Howard, and Kailee Howard, all of Franklin, KY.

The family is having private services on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home.

Betty Sue Zimmerman

LOUISVILLE -- Betty Sue Zimmerman, 68, of Louisville died there Friday, July 20, 2001, at Norton Audubon Hospital. The Brownsville native was a Catholic.

Survivors include a son, Eddie Zimmerman of Louisville; a daughter, Theresa Zimmerman of Louisville; two granddaughters; a brother, Luther James of Louisville; and a sister, Patty Warren of Beaver Dam.

Services are at 2 p.m. EDT Monday at Evergreen Funeral Home in Louisville. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to American Lung Association.

Freda Mayhugh Paschal
(March 24, 1923 - August 27, 2013)

Freda Mayhugh Paschal, 90, of Bowling Green passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Christian Care Center. Mrs. Paschal was a native of Butler County and the daughter of the late Friday Mayhugh and Florence Porter Mayhugh. She was also preceded in death by her husband Tom Paschal, her five sisters; Jewel McCoy, Eva Mae Askew, Leatrice Givens , Nada Proctor, and Ovie Mayhugh and her special caregiver Sue James. Mrs. Paschal was employed in advertising at The Daily News and was a member of Eastwood Baptist Church. She was a wonderful wife and mother. She was also well loved by friends and staff of Christian Healthcare.

Mrs. Paschal is survived by her two daughters; Suzanne Thomas (John) and Mallye Schultz (Mark) all of Bowling Green, KY, one son; Scott Paschal (Tracey) of Golden, Co, one sister; Loyce McCoy, two brothers; Charles Mayhugh and Herman Mayhugh, four grandchildren; Andy Schultz, Trevor Thomas, Logan Thomas and Alex Thomas, three great grandchildren; Rachel Schultz, Blake Schultz and Nicole Mackin, one sister-in-law; Geraldine Hurt and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 29 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home. Funeral will be on Friday, August 30 at 11:00 a.m. at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Union Missionary Baptist Church in Butler County. The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Joseph 'Jay' C. Foreman
1 August 2001

REYNOLDS STATION -- The Rev. Joseph "Jay" C. Foreman, 71, of Reynolds Station died Monday, July 30, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Ohio County native was a bi-vocational minister and the first pastor of Hatfield (Ind.) Baptist Church. He served churches in Webster, Warren, Ohio, Hancock, Breckinridge and Daviess counties. He was a mechanic, worked for many years at Tichenor in Hartford and was a Korean War veteran.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Donna Jeanne Foreman; a son, Stephen Foreman of Jeffersontown; a daughter, Terrie Foreman of Lewisport; and three grandchildren.

Services are at 2 p.m. Friday at Zion Baptist Church in Reynolds Station. Burial will be in Fordsville cemetery. Visitation is after 1 p.m. Thursday and after 10 a.m. Friday at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Kentucky Baptist Childrens Home.

Myra Lynn Pawley
(July 6, 1949 - September 30, 2013)

Myra Lynn Pawley, 64 of Russellville, Ky, died Monday September 30, 2013 at Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tn. The Butler county native was born July 6, 1949, a daughter of the late Maurice Grubbs and Dovie Vincent Grubbs who survives. She was proceeded in death by her husband, John Pawley. Mrs. Pawley was a graduate of Butler County High School and was employed at Western Kentucky University in the library. Widowed at a young age, she worked very hard to raise her son and put him through college. Memorial services will be held at 4pm Friday October 4, 2013 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4pm-7pm Thursday and again from noon Friday at the funeral home.

In addition to her mother, Dovie Grubbs of Leitchfield, Ky she is survived by two sons, Daniel Pawley (Amanda) of Russellville, Ky and Reece Grubbs (Kelly) of Campbellsville, Ky: two stepchildren Lisa Campbell of Dacula, Ga and John Michael Pawley of Irvine, Ca: one grandson Ryan Grubbs of Campbellsville, Ky.

William L. Payne
22 July 2001

William L. "Frog" Payne, 80, of 4237 Edgewood Court, Owensboro, died there Friday, July 20, 2001. The Daviess County native retired from Texas Gas after 35 years of service and was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral. His wife, Mildred Raley Payne, died May 18, 1999.

Survivors include three sons, Donnie Payne of Nashville, and Tom Payne and Tony Payne, both of Bowling Green; three daughters, Linda Sowders and Alice F. Cobb, both of Owensboro, and Sharon Saxton of Elizabethtown; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jean Hodskins of Owensboro.

Services are at 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. Stephen Cathedral in Owensboro. Entombment will be in Resurrection cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation is from noon to 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro. Prayers will be said at 6:45 p.m. today at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Art Restoration Project, c/o St. Stephen Cathedral, 614 Locust St., Owensboro, KY 42301.

Anita Wayne Maroney
(June 15, 1942 - September 17, 2013)

Anita Wayne Maroney, 71, of Bowling Green died Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at The Medical Center in Bowling Green. The Versailles, Kentucky native was born June 15, 1942, a daughter of the late Claude and Dorothy Drury Thompson. She is preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence and Wesley Thompson. Mrs. Maroney was a Special Services Instructor for Community Action of Southern Kentucky. Inc., where she retired after 20 years of service. She was a 48 year season ticket holder for Western Kentucky University Men's Basketball, a member of the WKU Student Wives Club, a member of the Land Mark Association and she was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband of 49 years, John Daniel Maroney. Jr. of Bowling Green; two sons, Jim Maroney of Bowling Green and John Daniel Maroney, III and his wife, Rhonda, of Alvaton; two daughters, Cathy Maroney of Russellville and Anna Maroney-Jones and her husband, P.J. of Bowling Green; one brother, Billy Ray Thompson of Frankfort; one sister, Mary Ann King of Elizabethtown; three grandchildren, Logan and Austin Maroney both of Alvaton and Max Jones of Bowling Green; fifteen nieces, ten nephews, several great-nieces and great- nephews and special friends, Shelia LeGrand and Florence Massey both of Bowling Green. Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 am Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with entombment in St Joseph Catholic Church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rosary at 7:30 pm on Friday, at the Church. Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the St. Joseph Catholic Church Restoration Fund.

Anna M. Whittaker
(June 28, 1933 - September 10, 2013)

Anna M. Whittaker, 80, of Bowling Green died at 7:55 pm Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at The Hospice House of South Central Kentucky. Mrs. Whittaker was born June 28, 1933, a daughter of the late Robert Clyde Van Hooser and Susie Boyd Van Hooser. She was a graduate of the Bowling Green Business College and was retired as an accountant from Bowling Green Technical College. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Eugene Whittaker of Bowling Green; one daughter, Ramona Whittaker of Thompson Station, Tennessee; one son, Bob Whittaker and his wife, Cindy of Bowling Green; two grandchildren, Bradley Whittaker and his wife, Bethany of West Bend, Indiana and Ashli Ezell of Hermitage, Tennessee; one great grandchild, Brayden Ezell of Hermitage, Tennessee; numerous nieces and nephews and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm, Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home with burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation is scheduled from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm on Saturday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Kentucky, Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund or the charity of one's choice.

The Rev. John Paul Henning

The Rev. John Paul Henning, 73, of 2027 Airport Road, Owensboro, died Sunday, July 1, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Grand Cayman, British West Indies, native was founder and pastor for 20 years of First Church of God and a professional wrestler for 18 years. He served in the Navy for five years and was a World War II Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Peggy Jordan Henning; a son, Jim Henning of Providence; two grandchildren; and a sister, Frances Suggs of St. Petersburg, Fla.

Services are at 1 p.m. Thursday at First Church of God in Owensboro. Burial will be in Rosehill cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday at James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to First Church of God, 2101 Kentucky 554, Owensboro, KY 42301.

Jessica Marie Noghlabadi
(June 23, 1982 - August 27, 2013)

Jessica Marie Noghlabadi, 31 of Bowling Green passed away on Monday, August 26, 2013 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY. She was a native of Iowa City, IA and was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Fazollah and Fakhry Noghlabadi. Ms. Noghlabadi was a graduate of Warren East High School and attended Western Kentucky University. She raised money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and operated the website www.Breathing-Hope.org.

She is survived by her father Tony Noghlabadi and stepmother Valeria Noghlabadi, her mother Lillie Herr Boyer, two sisters; Felicia Marie Noghlabadi and Danielle Nichole Blanford, two brothers; John Leroy Blanford, II and Brandon Tyler Noghlabadi, her maternal grandparents Patricia and Anthony Adams of Brownsville, KY, several nieces and nephews, numerous aunts and uncles and a multitude of cousins. Visitation will be on Friday, August 30, 2013 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Johnson- Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home. A Memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 30, 2013 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home. The family has requested that donations be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

James J. 'Jamie' Groves
1 August 2001

ROME, Ind. -- James J. "Jamie" Groves, 96, of Rome died Monday, July 30, 2001, at his home. The Rome native was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran of the African and Italian theaters. He was a commanding officer and received the Legion of Merit for outstanding service. He was a farmer and a member of Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2939 and National Rifle Association. His wife, Dove Pletcher Groves, died in 1985.

Survivors include a son, John Groves of Rome; a daughter, Ellen Bell of Leopold, Ind.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy Rickert of Elizabethtown and Barbara Spannuth of Bloomington, Ind.

Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton chapel. Burial will be in Wegenast cemetery in Rome. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Rome cemetery Association or Visiting Nurse Association.

Mary Thomas Ireland Adams

REEDSBURG, Wis. -- Mary Thomas Ireland Adams, 89, of Reedsburg, formerly of Hartford, died Wednesday, July 18, 2001, at Our House of Residential Facility in Reedsburg. She was born near Hawesville and was salutatorian of the Beechmont High School Class of 1931. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Hartford Woman's Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Quincy Adams; and a daughter, Jennie Longest Adams.

Survivors include two daughters, Susan Young of Baraboo, Wis., and Peggy Curtis-Crockett of Lafayette, Calif; and several grandchildren.

Services are at 6 p.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church in Baraboo. Burial will be in Memory Gardens in Hawesville at 10 a.m. Thursday. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Monday at the church. Rago Funeral Home in Baraboo is handling arrangements.
