Dan C. Musgrove, 94, of Bowling Green died on November 16, 2015 at Greenview Regional Hospital. The Etowah, TN native was born to the late Daniel Charles “Charlie” and Nora Ann Gilbreath Musgrove on July 7, 1921.

He worked as a used car salesman, and was a US Army Veteran, having served during WWII. He attended Trinity Baptist Church.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mae Valentine Musgrove; a sister, Frances Chase; and a brother, L.D. Harold.

Survivors include a niece, Rev. Alta Raper of Alcoa, TN; a nephew, Ralph Chase (Willie) of Cleveland, TN; a great niece, Sha’Ree Morgan (Greg) of Cleveland, TN; two great nephews, Tim Chase (Cindy) of Cleveland, TN and Randy Chase (Debbie) of Maryville, TN; and several great-great nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 2:00pm at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will also be on Thursday from 12:00pm to 1:30pm at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be sent to Trinity Baptist Church or Hospice of Southern Kentucky in his memory.

Jewell R. 'Jake' Trail
1 June 2001

SHEPHERDSVILLE -- Jewell R. "Jake" Trail, 79, of Shepherdsville died Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at Caritas Hospital in Louisville. The Ohio County native retired from General Electric in Louisville after 36 years of service and was a member of Hebron Lane Church of Christ in Shepherdsville.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Culbertson Trail; two daughters, Wanda Jean Davis of Lexington and Shelia Carwile of Louisville; five grandchildren; and two brothers, Adrion Trail of Louisville and Thurston Trail of Elizabethtown.

Services are at 11 a.m. EDT Saturday at Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home in Shepherdsville. Burial will be in Brookland cemetery in Brooks. Visitation is from 3 to 9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. William L. Danks Funeral Home is handling local arrangements.

Lena Robinson

BEAVER DAM -- Lena Corley Geary Robinson, 85, of Beaver Dam died Friday, May 18, 2001, at Beaver Dam Health Care Manor. The Muhlenberg County native was a cook for Rockport Grade School, was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and was former president of hospital auxiliary at Ohio County Hospital. She was a member of Lydia Sunday school class and Order of the Eastern Star, Grace Chapter 37. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lincoln Geary, on June 30, 1959, and her second husband, Connis Robinson, on April 29, 1972.

Survivors include a son, James C. Geary of Louisville; a daughter, Ellen Ball of Beaver Dam; a stepdaughter, Debbie Martill of Phoenix; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a half brother, James Corley Jr. of Louisville.

Services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial will be in Sunnyside cemetery in Beaver Dam. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Lanny Ray Hester
(February 9, 1950 - October 28, 2015)

Lanny Ray Hester, 65, of Bowling Green passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at his residence. The Boyce, KY native was born to Charlene Board Hester and the late Jesse Hester on February 9, 1950. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Mark Anthony Hester.

He retired from Cutler Hammer after 35 years of service, and was a member of White’s Chapel United Methodist Church. He enjoyed farming and fishing, NASCAR and Kentucky Basketball. Mr. Hester was a great husband, dad, grandfather, and friend.

Survivors include his wife, Paula Lea Phelps Hester of Bowling Green; a son, Jeremy Perring (Lori) of Bowling Green; three daughters, Amy Elizabeth Rae Lawson (Daniel) of Pell City, AL, Jennifer Hester Carson (Robbie) and Ashley Perring Beam (Stephen), both of Bowling Green; a brother, Jerry Hester; and five grandchildren, Austin Perring, Kirsten Black, Joshua Miller, Colton Perring, and Daniel Lawson IV.

The funeral service will be at 12 noon on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home with burial to follow at Old Drake cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 9:00 pm on Friday, October 30, 2015 and again on Saturday from 9:00 am to funeral time at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to American Cancer Society or Hospice of Southern Kentucky in his memory.

Angie Howell Yadon
(April 24, 2014 - November 16, 2015)

Angie Howell Yadon, 101, of Plano Road died November 16, 2015 at Hospice of Southern Kentucky. The Warren County native was born April 24, 1914.

She was part owner of Colonial Manor Nursing Home for several years. She was a member of Plano Baptist Church.

She was a daughter of the late Floyd Howell and Attie Sledge Howell Dickerson and the wife of the late J. C. Yadon. She was preceded in death by three brothers; George Howell, Neal Howell, David Dickerson and two sisters; Rosie Hardcastle, and Virginia Page.

Survivors include one sister; Eula Mae Hardcastle (Hugh) of Bowling Green and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home, with burial in Fairview cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm Saturday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of Southern Kentucky, 5872 Scottsville Road Bowling Green, Ky 42104.

Ronald Coleman Halcomb
(February 8, 1945 - November 1, 2015)

Ronald Coleman Halcomb, 70, of Alvaton died at 6:14 am, Sunday, November 1, 2015 at his residence. The Little Leatherwood, Kentucky native was a son of the late Tillman Halcomb and Ola Asher Halcomb and was preceded in death by his sister, Charlene and brother-in-law, Chester Halcomb. Mr. Halcomb was a retired teacher for the Bowling Green Vocational Technical School, now known as the South Central Kentucky Community Technical College. He was a member of the Goshen Masonic Lodge # 198 F & AM and a member of Eastwood Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Ann Lewis Halcomb of Alvaton; three daughters, Suzanne Schweidel (Steve) of Nashville, Melanie Keeling (Eric) of Alvaton, and Cheryl Hixson (Casey) of Bowling Green; two brothers, Dexter Halcomb, and Roger Halcomb (Brenda); one sister, Sybil Brown (Dan); three grandchildren, Madeline Charis Keeling, Quinn Coleman Hixson, and Oliver Dane Hixson; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 am Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Eastwood Baptist Church with private entombment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home. Masonic services are scheduled for 7:00 pm Tuesday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Ronald Halcomb Memorial Scholarship Fund at SKYCTC.

Louise Lowe
(May 19, 1916 - December 6, 2015)

Louise Lowe, 99, of Bowling Green died on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Christian Health Center. The Warren County native was born on May 19, 1916 to the late Whit and Camie Gardner Duckett. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry F. Lowe, and three brothers, Cary, Aubrey, and Bryant Duckett; and one grandson.

She was a member of Flat Rock United Methodist Church.

She is survived by three children, Joe B. Lowe (Shirley) of Bowling Green, Phillip Wayne Lowe (Suzon) of Bowling Green, and Artie Grinstead (Bobby) of Smith Grove; a sister, Dorthy Lowe of Bowling Green; nine grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

The funeral service will be on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 from 3:00 – 8:00 PM at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home, with additional visitation on Wednesday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, with burial in Fairview cemetery.

The family would like to thank Christian Health Center for the kind and loving care they gave to Mrs. Lowe.

Lucy Winifred Roby

Lucy Winifred Roby, 76, of Owensboro died Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Daviess County native was a homemaker and member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family. Her husband, Bernard J. Roby, died Feb. 22, 1993.

Survivors include four sons, Junior Roby of Fordsville, Thomas Roby of Hartford, and Steve Roby and James Roby, both of Utica; two daughters, Sheila Walker of Owensboro and Carolyn Garrison of Utica; six grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Lawrence Johnson of Knottsville; and five sisters, Martine York, Mary Edna Payne and Marie Fulkerson, all of Knottsville, and Rosanne Roberts and Bernadette Melton, both of Owensboro.

Services are at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Owensboro. Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro. Prayers will be said at 5:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to American Heart Association, 318 St. Elizabeth St., Owensboro, KY 42301.

Bobbie W. Nevitt
22 May 2001

ISLAND -- Bobbie W. Nevitt, 69, of Island died there Monday, May 21, 2001. The Island native was a construction worker, a member of Island United Methodist Church and a Marine veteran. He was a member of Island Lodge 743 F. & A.M. and enjoyed fishing, playing pool and spending time with his family. His son, Dennis Wayne Nevitt, died Sept. 25, 1989.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Shirley Sullivan Nevitt; two sons, Jimmy Nevitt of Livia and Eddie Nevitt of Lewisport; two daughters, Keitha Henderson of Cahokia, Ill., and Rhonda Cook of Bremen; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Georgia Henry of Livermore.

Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel. Burial will be in Island Community cemetery in McLean County. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Wednesday and after 8 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Masonic services are at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Green River Hospice, 109 S. Second St., Central City, KY 42330.

John Thomas Demunbrun
(November 1, 1937 - December 5, 2015)

U.S. Veteran
John Thomas Demunbrun 78 resident of Bowling Green went home to be with his heavenly father on December 5, 2015.

John was born and raised in Bowling Green. He was an inspiration to many.

John was one of four children born to the late Thomas Obrey and Louie Demunbrun. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Demunbrun of 55 years, his daughter Lana Demunbrun Rossi (Keith), and his brother Sampson Demunbrun.

He is survived by a daughter Lorie Brady (David) of Bowling Green; two sisters Mary Welch of Palmyra, IN and Eva Graham of Bowling Green. Four Grandchildren, Nicholas Brady of Bowling Green; Beth Ann Driver of Bowling Green; John Tyler Rossi (Anna) of Beckton, Ky; Travis Rossi (Dezarre) of Bowling Green. One Great Granddaughter, Lana Joy Rossi of Beckton, Ky Along with countless other friends and family who were blessed to know him. His kind and gentle spirit will be truly missed.

John was saved in 1949 at the age of 12. He was a deacon at Fairview Memorial Missionary Baptist Church where he attended regularly. John was the owner of Paul’s Barber Shop where he barbered for over 50 years. John was also a part time farmer and spent countless hours working and enjoying his farm in Fountain Run, Ky.

Visitation will be on Monday, December 7, 2015 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home from 12 noon to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Fairview Memorial Missionary Baptist Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Fairview cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be sent to Fairview Memorial Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund in his memory.

Ruth Legg Rhodes
31 May 2001

EVANSVILLE -- Ruth Legg Rhodes, 69, of Evansville died Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at Cypress Grove Rehabilitation Center in Newburgh, Ind., from cancer. The Owensboro native retired in 1998 after 18 years as manager of JLM Chemical Co. at General Electric Co. in Mount Vernon, Ind., and was president of Legg Oil Co. in Owensboro. She was a member of Bethabara Baptist Church, a 50-year member of Order of the Eastern Star No. 104 and Elks Club.

Survivors include her daughter, Bonnie R. Newcom of Philpot; three granddaughters; a great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Stella L. Haynes of Mount Vernon, Ind., and Anna Raye Montgomery of Leitchfield.

Services are at 10 a.m. Friday at James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro. Burial will be at 11 a.m. EDT Saturday in Legg Family cemetery in Campton. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Bethabara Baptist Church, 2946 Ky. 142, Philpot, KY 42366.

Danny Ray Taylor

Danny Ray Taylor, 51 of Morgantown, Ky. died Saturday May 8, 2004 at his residence in Morgantown, Ky. He was a Butler County native, member of Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church where he was a deacon, director of Butler County Farm Bureau, Banock Masonic Lodge and a farmer.

Danny Ray Taylor is survived by his wife Sharon Cook Taylor of Morgantown; son Robert Daniel Taylor of Morgantown; 2 daughters Amanda Taylor Johnson of Morgantown; Emily Ann Taylor of Morgantown; parents R. Forest and Zora Evans Taylor of Morgantown; 2 sisters Sue Ann Bond of Louisville; Patty Jo Murphy of Alvaton, Ky.; 2 grandsons Isaiah Shawn Johnson and Elijah Ray Johnson and father in law Verner D. Cook of Morgantown.

Stochel Lee Beasley

Stochel Lee Beasley, 77, of Morgantown, died Monday May 10, 2004 at the Glasgow State Nursing Facility in Glasgow, Ky. He was a Butler County native and the son of the late Hurshel and Dolly Mae Bratcher Beasley. He was preceded in death by a son Doug Beasley.

Stochel Lee Beasley is survived by 4 daughters Valerie D. Beasley, Jennifer L. Stephens, Christine L. Beasley, and Patty Beasley all of Louisville, Ky.; son Bruce Beasley of Radcliff, Ky., 5 Grandchildren; 1 Great Grandchild; 4 sisters Wrinda Tucker of Morgantown, Ky; Shirley Amos of Lexington, Ky., Beatrice Parkerson of Owensboro, Ky., and Melvie Veteto of Morgantown, Ky., 3 brothers Ed, Gene, and Ricky Beasley all of Morgantown, Ky.

Funeral service will be held at the Zion Harmony Baptist Church Thursday May 13, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Gary Embry officiating. Burial will be at the Zion Harmony cemetery, visitation Wednesday 11:00 a.m. at the Jones Funeral Chapel.

Aline Harkins Mitchell

BROWDER -- Aline Harkins Mitchell, 78, of Browder died Monday, May 28, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Muhlenberg County native was a member of Browder Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Roger Mitchell of Central City and Lendell Mitchell of Villa Ridge, Mo.; a daughter, Norma Jean Pentecost of Beechmont; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth Knight of Owensboro and Bill Knight of Central City; and two sisters, Adelene Wilson of Drakesboro and Judy Divine of Owensboro.

Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in Mount Zion cemetery in Central City. Visitation is after 4:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Roy L. Hayes

Roy L. Hayes, 61, of Morgantown, Ky. died Sunday September 26, 2004 at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was a Missouri native and the son of the late Roy J. and Bertha Workman Hayes. He was a retired welder for General Motors, UAW local 2164 and member of Morgantown First United Methodist Church.

Roy Hayes is survived by wife Beverly Hayes of Morgantown; son Brian Hayes and wife Donnitta of Nashville TN; daughter Kelly Fox and husband John of Bowling Green Ky.; 7 grandchildren; 5 sisters and 2 brothers. Funeral services will be held at the Morgantown First United Methodist Church Wednesday 11:00 am September 29, 2004. Burial will be in the Hill Haven Memory Garden. Visitation will be Tuesday 3:00 - 9:00 pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel, visitation Wednesday 10:00am until funeral time at the church.

Marie Waddell Minyard

Marie Daisy Waddell Minyard, age 76 of Cave City, passed away Friday, April 6, 2007 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. The Hart County native was born April 1, 1931 to the late Virginuis B. "Ginger" Waddell and Addie Mae "Tookey" Duke Waddell and wife of the late Roy Minyard. She was a homemakerand a member of Mt. Zion United Baptist Church in Warren County.

She is survived by one daughter Peggy Poynter and husband John of Park City; one son, James C. Minyard of Cave City; three granddaughters, Reanna Nicole Poynter of Park City, Magen Paige and Jordan Faith Minyard of Glasgow; one sister, Faye Pritchard and husband Kenneth of Horse Cave; six brothers, Herbert Waddell of Shepherdsville, Robert Waddell of Maryville, Leonard Waddell of Cave City, Murrell Waddell and wife Emma of Mt. Washington, Virgil Waddell and wife Vickie of Clinton, TN and Jerry Waddell and wife Donna of Louisville; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of friends. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Donita Marie Minyard and two brothers, Leland and Howard Waddell. Services will be officiated by Bro. Jerry Patton with burial in the Evergreen cemetery.
