Mario D. Rizzitiello, age 69 of Cave City, died Sunday, January 14, 2007 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. He was born February 2, 1937 to the late Ralph and Dea Silvestri Rizzitiello. He was a Catholic, a former member of the Italian Navy, Owner of Mario's Restaurant in Cave City, City Councilman for Cave City.

He is survived by mother of his children, Angie Rizzitiello; two sons, Ralph Rizzitiello and wife Lilli of Park City and Thomas Rizzitiello of Knoxville, TN; two daughters, Gina Rizzitiello of Bear, DE and Susan Rizzitiello of Newark, DE; two sisters, Adrianna Cosentino of Woodstock, GA and Rita Regina of Bronx, NY; eight grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.He is also preceded in death by one daughter Chritina Rizzitiello. Services will be officiated by Father Shannon Collins with burial at Calvary cemetery in Lexington. Prayer service will be at 7:00 pm Thursday at the Park City Chapel.

Noma B. Stice Houchin

Noma B. Stice Houchin, age 79 of Brownsville, passed away Friday, January 19, 2007 at her residence. The Edmonson County native was born June 8, 1927 to the late Lester Stice and Bertha Crump Stice and married to the late Paul Houchin. She was a retired seamstress at Brownsville Manufacturing and a member of Beaver Dam United Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, David R. Houchin and wife Margaret of Lexington; two grandchildren, Amy Watts and husband Tom of Lexington, Jeff Houchin of Lexington; two great grandchildren Trey and Price Watts of Lexington; two brothers Raymond Stice and wife Sally of Louisville and Leo Stice and wife Mildred of Chalybeate. Services will be officiated by Bro. Ronald Renfro and Bro. Eldridge Renfro with burial in the Bell Key cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Southern Kentucky, 1027 Broadway Ave. Bowling Green, KY 42101.

Iva Marie Chapman

BEAVER DAM -- Iva Marie Chapman, 90, of Beaver Dam died there Monday, May 28, 2001, at her home. The Ohio County native was a homemaker, had worked at Ken-Rad in Owensboro and was a member of Independence Baptist Church in McHenry. Her husband, Hermon Chapman, died in 1972.

Survivors include a son, David L. Chapman of Beaver Dam; a daughter, Sally C. Snyder of Madisonville; two grandchildren; and a brother, Claude Chinn of Carmel, Ind.

Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford. Burial will be in Sunnyside cemetery in Beaver Dam. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Ohio County, 1211 Main Street, Hartford, KY 42347.

David H. Reed

David H. Reed, age 71 of Brownsville passed away Sunday, January 21, 2007 at his residence. He was born in Edmonson County on January 29, 1935 to the late Howard and Mabel Reed. He was a former project manager for the USDA, a farmer, a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Brownsville Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his son George T. "Tim" Reed of Brownsville; one sister Anna Mae Evers and her husband Gary of Royse City, TX; former wife, Patsy Basham Reed of Brownsville; one niece and nephew; two great nephews; one great niece and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Southern Kentucky, 1027 Broadway Ave. Bowling Green, KY or the Edmonson County Library.

Elizabeth Carol Jenkins

Elizabeth Carol Jenkins, age 61 of Canmer, KY passed away Sunday, January 21, 2007 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. She was born in Louisville to the late Clifton and Louise Green Barrett. She was a homemaker and married to Norman Jenkins for 42 years.

She is also survived by three sons, Eddie Jenkins and wife Cheryl of Canmer, David Jenkins of Munfordville and Roscoe Jenkins and wife Rosemary of Gainesville, FL; one daughter, Lisa Trulock and husband Troy of Canmer; one sister, Mary Priddy and husband Barry of Louisville; four brothers, John Barrett of Belleview,Fl., Lee Barrett and wife Loretta of Louisville, Bill Barrett and wife Kitchel of New Albany, IN and Roger Barrett and wife Kathy of Rough River; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services were held at her bedside immediately following her death. Carol was loved and will be missed by many. There was no public visititation of funeral service and the body was cremated.

John B. Patton

John B. Patton age 82 of Southhaven, MS passed away Thursday, January 25, 2006 at his residence. The Hohenwald, TN native was born April 25, 1925 to the late Andrew D. and Susie Bruce Patton. He was a retired insurance executive, a World War II Army veteran, a member of Washington Meredith Masonic Lodge #355 F&AM, Executive director of the Northwest DeSolo County chamber of commerce, retired vice president of marketing for Washington National Corporation and a member of Broadway Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Carol Patton of South Haven; two daughters, Deborah West of Santa Fe, Mexico and Dana Lynn Patton of Southhaven; three sons, Bruce Patton of LaVerta, CO, Steve Patton and wife Jeanne of Brownsville and Jerry B. Patton and wife Marilyn of Brownsville; one brother, Joey Patton of Bee Spring; one sister Iva Jean McCoy of Louisville and 12 grandchildren.

Audra Ben Vincent

Audra Ben Vincent, age 78 of Bowling Green passed away Monday, February 5, 2007 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. The Edmonson County native was born May 26, 1928 to the late Getty Audrey Vincent and Kathern Thelma James Vincent. He was retired from working 40 years in the parts department at Whayne Supply Co. in Bowling Green and a member of Mt. Zion United Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Lindsey Vincent of Bowling Green; one son, Benny Vincent of Bowling Green and two brothers Kelsey Vincent of Brownsville and Harold Vincent and wife Loretta of Louisville. Services will be officiated by Bro. Jerry Patton with burial in the Mt. Zion cemetery.

HARTFORD -- Mary Morton Kuykendall, 94, of Hartford, formerly of One Park Place, Owensboro, died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Ohio County Hospital in Hartford. The Centertown native was co-owner of Carlisle & Kuykendall Insurance Agency in Hartford and a member of Hartford Baptist Church.

Survivors include a nephew and two nieces, including Martha Mitchell of Dundee.

Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford. Burial will be in Rosehill cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Cuba Vincent Meredith

Cuba Vincent Meredith age 87 of Brownsville passed away Saturday, January 27, 2007 at the Edmonson Health Care Center in Brownsville. The Edmonson County native was born September 18, 1919 to the late Jake and Nancy Meredith Vincent and married to the late Wilmoth H. "Bill" Meredith. She was the owner of Key Market in Louiville and a charter member of Bashford Manor Baptist Church in Louisville.

She is survived by three sons, Donovan Meredith and wife Mary Lou of Brownsville, Mike Meredith and wife Gloria of Lubbock, TX and Terry Meredith and wife Margaret of Louisville; two brothers. Billy Vincent and wife Laverta of Leitchfield and Johnny Vincent and wife Mary Alice of Brownsville; three sisters, Grace Wood and husband Larry of Bee Spring, Avis Stevenson of Bee Spring and Darlene Kerr and husband Rudd of Leitchfield; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Services will be officiated by Bro. Rudd Kerr with burial in the Bee Spring cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Edmonson Health Care 813 S. Main St. Brownsville, KY 42210.

Grace Dean Webb Massey

Grace Dean Webb Massey, age 75, of Brownsville passed away Thursday, February 22, 2007 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. She was born in Edmonson County on January 9, 1932 to the late Hubert Webb and Elizabeth Ann Saling Webb and married to the late Earl D. Massey. She was a packer at P. Lorillard, retired machine operator at Brown and Williamson, a housekeeper at Nortons Hospital and a member of Mount Zion United Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Debbie F. Massey-Bratcher and husband John of Brownsville; one son, Rickey Earl Massey of Brownsville; one sister, Jewell Faye Massey of Brownsville; three grandchildren, Kimberly Lynn Massey, Stephanie Ann Meyer and Mary Jean Massey; three great grandchildren; one sister-in-law Norene Vincent and husbad Glen of Brownsville. Services will be officiated by Bro. Jerry Patton with burial in the Doyle (Red Hill) cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Brownsville Active Daycare Brownsville, KY 42210.

Mary Glenn

Mary Glenn, 73, of 529 Walnut St., Owensboro, died Friday, May 18, 2001, at Bon Harbor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The McLean County native was a homemaker and member of St. Stephen Cathedral. She enjoyed collecting dolls and going to garage sales. Her husband, David Glenn, died in August 1981.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Dean Glenn and John David Glenn, both of Owensboro; a daughter, Nancy Lee Kimbley of Owensboro; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Josephine Wathen, Catherine Wathen, Ida Robinson and Marie Howard, all of Owensboro.

Services are at 10 a.m. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 6 p.m. today and after 8:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. John Arthur Davis

John Arthur Davis, age 52, of Radcliff passed away Monday, February 12, 2007 at Elizabethtown Nursing and Rehab. The Edmonson County native was born April 8, 1954 to the late George Edward Davis and Landis Hudson Carden of Radcliff. He was a Navy veteran, a member of Sweeden Missionary Baptist Church and a Kentucky Colonel.

He is also survived by a special dad, Mike Carden of Radcliff; one brother, Patrick Davis and wife Rose of Owensboro; one sister, Carole Black and husband Keith of Radcliff; three stepsisters, Marilyn Dye and husband James of Magnolia, Sherilyn Carden of Virginia and Carolyn Wietecha and husband Tom of Elizabethtown; several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Michael Edward Davis. Services are being officiated by Bro. Jerry Patton with burial in Sweeden Church cemetery.

Courtney Mae Steenbergen

Courtney Mae Steenbergen, age 19 of Glasgow, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2007 at The University of Louisville. She was born on August 26, 1987 in Laramie, WY to Michael Steenbergen and Susie Guthrie. She was a radiology assistant at The Medical Center at Bowling Green and a student at Western Kentucky University. She was also a member of Pleasant Union United Baptist Church and 2005 Graduate of Barren County High School.

She is survived by her mother Susie Guthrie and husband Frank of Glasgow; father Michael Steenbergen and wife Alison of Louisville; one brother, Blake Steenbergen of Bowling Green; one step brother, Braeden Combs of Louisville; paternal grandmother, Patty Dickson of Glasgow; step grandparents, Judith Guthrie of Edmonton and Jerry and Marilyn Patton of Brownsville. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Charles O'Neal and Karen May Pugh, Charles and Betty Steenbergen, Donald Dickson, cousin Tristan Page and uncle David Dickson.

Earl Wayne White

Earl Wayne White, 59, of 527 Ridgewood St., Owensboro, died Sunday, May 27, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Ohio County native retired from Faith Tool & Die as a machinist and was a member of Good Shepherd Church and American Diabetes Association.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Martha White; two sons, Anthony "Chuck" White and Todd White, both of Owensboro; two grandchildren; a brother; three sisters; and several nephews and nieces.

Services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home. Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Virginia French

Virginia Hope Brooks French, age 89 of Brownsville, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2007 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. She was born April 7, 1917 in Louisville, KY to the late William Jim and Ethel Brooks and married to the late William French, Sr. She was a homemaker and a member of Fairview United Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, Bill French, Jr. and wife Sharon of Brownsville; four daughters, Carolyn Hogan of Flarger, FL, Sherry Rippy and husband Chris of Bowling Green, Debbie Durbin of Brownsville and Donna French of Pig; five grandchildren, David Hogan, Shelly French, Angela Lawler, Ashley Durbin and Jena Johnson; four great grandchildren, Ashley Lawler, William Spencer Lawler, Austin Hogan and Deidre Lawler; one brother, James Clifford Webb. She was also preceded in deathy by one grandson, Jimmy Hogan. Services will be officiated by Bro. Rondell Blair with burial in the Poplar Spring Church cemetery.

Arthur "John Bull" Duvall

Arthur Carvel "John Bull" Duvall, age 90 of Bee Spring, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2007 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. He was born October 13, 1916 in Edmonson County to the late Joseph Moon Duvall and Dean Decker Duvall and married to the late Winona Melba Sanders Duvall. He was a retired hodd carrier and a deacon of McGrew General Baptist Church.

He is survived by one son, Ronnie Duvall and wife Janet of Bee Spring; two brothers, Freeman Duvall of Norfolk, VA and Donald Duvall of Indianapolis, IN; three grandchildren, Kim Carroll of Bee Spring, Ronnadean Duvall of Bee Spring and Josh Vincent Duvall of Sunfish; two step grandchildren, Dee Dee Meredith of ParkCity and Clint Vincent of Smiths Grove; six great grandchildren, six step great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Emadean Goins and a stepson Randall "Duck" Meredith.

Leslie E. Toms

Leslie E. Toms, age 78 of Cave City, passed away Thursday, March, 29, 2007 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. The Park City native was born July 21, 1928 to the late Barney B. Toms and Letha Coffee Toms. He was a Korean War Army veteran where he received the Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, Korean Service Metal, National Defense Metal and the Korean Presidential Unit Citation. He managed the Exxon bulk plant in Bowling Green for 24 years and retired from Key Oil Co.after 9 years of service. He was a member of Park City United Methodist Church where he served in several positions, an avid sportsman and a member of many sporting clubs, he also served 17 years in the Kentucky National Guard. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Steenbergen Toms of Cave City; two sons, Hal Toms and wife Amye of Cave City and Leslie Philip Toms and wife Jane of Lexington; one sister, Kathleen Bell of Park City; one brother, Robert "Wimpy" Toms and wife Margie of Park City; three grandsons, Philip A., Jonathon and William Toms; five granddaughters, Amber Judd and husband Korey, Katherine and Courtney Toms, Carley Devore and husband Matt and Jennifer White; one great granddaughter, Luna Devore and multiple nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Bob Toms and two sisters Ethel Wright and Gracie Poynter Brockman. Services will be officiated by Bro. Greg Gallerher and Bro. GREENFIELD, Ohio -- Hilda S. Cooper, 48, of Greenfield died there Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Edgewood Manor. The Calhoun native retired in February 2000 as an elementary school teacher in the Greenfield School District and was a member of First Baptist Church of Greenfield.

Survivors include a son, Lance Cooper of Cincinnati; a daughter, Savannah Cooper of Greenfield; her mother, Susie McRoy of Greenville; and a sister, Joyce Alexander of Providence.

Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Greenfield. Burial will be in Greenfield cemetery. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield. Josh Layman

Josh Layman, age 15 of Hermitage, TN formerly of Brownsville, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2007 in Nashville. He was a student in the 9th grade scholars program at McGavock High School.

He is survived by his mother Joy Guss and husband Tom of Hermitage, TN; his father, Scott Layman and wife Wilma of Caneyville; brothers and sisters, Lindsey Agin, David Guss, Lindsey Pedigo, Kimmy Chapman, Hannah Guss and Riley Guss; grandparents, A.J. and JoEtta Johnson of Chalybeate, Danny and Sue Layman of Caneyville and Bob and Janet Foy of Old Hickory, TN and several uncles, aunts and cousins. Services will be officiated by Bro. Malcolm Doyle with burial in the Silent Grove Church cemetery.

Sue Swift Johnson

Sue Swift Johnson, 60, of 5058 Back Square Drive, Owensboro, died Monday, May 21, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Easton native retired from Green River District Health Department as a clerical supervisor, was a member of Eaton Memorial Baptist Church and was salutatorian of her graduating class at Owensboro Technical High School.

Survivors include her companion, Frank R. Johnson; two sons, M. David Johnson of Owensboro and Paul A. Johnson of Glasgow; three grandchildren; four brothers, Charles E. Swift of Nashville, Walter D. Swift of Habit and William Franklin Swift and Larry W. Swift, both of Owensboro; and several nephews and nieces.

Memorial services are at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 3, 2001, at Eaton Memorial Baptist Church in Owensboro. There is no visitation. James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro is handling arrangements.

Irene Skaggs Oakes York

Irene Skaggs Oakes York, age 83 of Brownsville, passed away Thursday, March, 29, 2007 at her residence. She was born on April 25, 1923 in Edmonson County to the late Rance Skaggs and Roseann Whobrey Skaggs and married to the late Leo Oakes and Clarence Gaitward York. She was a homemaker and a member of Midway United Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Regina Byrnes of Woodburn, KY; four sons, Ronnie Oakes and wife Sharon of Sanford, FL, Michael Oakes and wife Charlotte of Alvaton, KY, David Oakes and wife Donna of Scottsville and Steve Oakes of Auburn, KY; one sister, Christine McCrady of Brownsville, KY; 2 half brothers, Robert Skaggs of Illinois and Larry Skaggs of Lindseyville; six half sisters, Linda Sanders of Louisville, Frances McCrady of Lindseyville, Lillian Lindsey of Brownsville, Betty Hester of Bowling Green, Anna Short of Indiana and Gay Carder of Brownsville seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Callie Browning; two brothers, Claudie R. and Willie Gene Skaggs and two grandsons Larry and Terry Webb. Services will be officiated by Bro. Joan Dawes Wood

Joan Dawes Wood, age 80, of the Pig community, died Sunday, November 21, 2010 at her residence. She was born May 17,1930 in Edmonson County to the late Bert Thomas Dawes and the late Maude Cook Dawes. She was the wife of the late Harry Cheston Wood. She was a homemaker and a time analyst for Brownsville Manufacturing, a member of Silent Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Rocky Hill Eastern Star and the last charter member of Capital Hill Homemakers.

She is survived by two sons, Clark Wood (Sharon) of Cedar Springs, KY and Barry Lee Wood of Brownsville, KY; two half brothers, Danny Dawes of Texas and Arthur Dawes of Florida; seven grandchildren, Kim Easley (Chad), Brandon Seth Wood, Leigh Anne Cowles (DeWayne) , jason Wood, Brandon Wood (April), Shaina Hayes and Niki Payne and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Butch Wood and a half sister, Kathy Dawes.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hawkins cemetery, c/o James Jones 500 Mammoth Cave Rd., Brownsville, KY 42210. Services will officiated by Bro. Essie Hayes with burial will be in the Hawkins cemetery.

Timothy Wayne Pedigo

Timothy Wayne "Timmy" Pedigo, age 45 of Park City, passed away Monday November 8, 2010 in Bowling Green.

He was born November 21, 1964 in Jeffersonville, IN to Gene Pedigo and the late Gladys Dyer Pedigo.

Timmy was a Ink Tech for Sun Chemical and a bus driver for Barren County Schools.

He is survived by his companion Peggy Smith Carey of Park City; father, Gene Pedigo of Park City; two sisters, Audrey Neal (Tony) of Springfield, TN and Wilma Layman (Scott) of Caneyville; two nieces, Lindsey Pedigo and Kimberly Chapman; other family members; Leonard and Irene Smith of Park City, Betty and Patrick Matthews of Park City, Jeff and Debbie Smith of Smiths Grove and Shannon, Amanda and Joshua Smith. He was also preceded in death by one nephew, Josh Layman.

Services will be officicated by Bro. Mark Thurman with burial in the Evergreen cemetery.

HARDINSBURG -- James "J.J." Clark, 50, of Hardinsburg died Sunday, May 27, 2001, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. The Hancock County native was a self-employed mechanic and member of St. Romuald Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Clark of Cloverport; two sons, James Allen Clark of Morgantown and Kenny Clark of Hardinsburg; a daughter, Jamie Clark of Cloverport; three grandchildren; and a brother, Thomas Eugene Clark of Denver.

Services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Romuald Catholic Church in Hardinsburg. Burial will be in St. Romuald cemetery in Hardinsburg. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg.
