Carl R. "Jack" Yount, 87, of St. Mary's, Ga., formerly of Cropper, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Wilson Yount; and a son, Barry L. Yount of St. Mary's.

The funeral was Monday at Sholar Funeral Home.

Katlyn Ryann East

Katlyn Ryann East, 2, of Shelbyville, died Friday, Feb. 13, 2004.

Survivors include her parents, Raymond Jerry Evans Jr. and Katy East; a brother, Derek Evans; grandparents, Ross and Ruth East of Shelbyville and Wanda Campbell of Simpsonville; great-grandparents, Sam and Betty Campbell of Shelbyville; and great-great-grandparent, Vera Beebee of Tell City, Ind.

The funeral was Monday at Shannon Funeral Home.

Cesar Gamez Martinez

Cesar Gamez Martinez, 37, of Shelbyville, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004.

Survivors include his parents, Pedro Gamez Padilla and Guadalupe Martinez de Gamez, two sisters and two brothers.

A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Webb Funeral Home.

Funeral and burial services will be held in Mexico.

Stanley 'Junior' Kincaid

Stanley "Junior" Kincaid, 81, of Shelbyville, formerly of Bagdad, died Tuesday, Feb. 17. 2004.

Survivors include his wife, Ellie Mitchell Kincaid; sons, Stanley Kincaid III and Robert Kincaid of Shelbyville, David Kincaid of Cynthiana and Coleman Kincaid of Bagdad; daughters, Elaine Anderson of Bardstown, Martha Shouse of Pleasureville, Ruth Brooks, Lorraine Marsee, Janice Sanders, Alice Breeding and Kathleen Combs of Shelbyville, Cecilia Gray of Bagdad and Rosemary Wilborn of Louisville; and a brother, Fred Kincaid of Louisville.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Saturday at Hall-Taylor Funeral Home. Visitation is 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 1 to 9 p.m. Friday.

Leonard J. Slucher

Leonard J. Slucher, 77, of Shelbyville, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004.

Survivors include his wife, Josie Kaze Slucher; and daughters, Bonnie Bartley of Springfield and Jennifer Waits of Jacksonville.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday at LeCompte-Johnson-Taylor Funeral Home in Frankfort. Visitation is 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

William Lloyd 'Bill' Tinius
22 May 2001

William Lloyd "Bill" Tinius, 81, of 2515 Daviess St., Owensboro, died Monday, May 21, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Daviess County native retired from General Electric Co. after 35 years and was an elder emeritus and member of Friendship Sunday school class at First Christian Church. He was a member of VFW Bowling Team, an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Edwina Day Tinius; two daughters, Dianne Motowicki of Conyers, Ga., and Deborah Crone of Owensboro; four grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Marrett of Paducah.

Arrangements are pending at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to First Christian Church Memorial Fund, 701 Daviess St., Owensboro, KY 42303.

William Paul Owens

William Paul Owens, 64, of Lawrenceburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004.

Survivors include his wife, Lona Andrea Moore Owens; daughters, Paula Lynn Purvis of Centerville, Texas, Kimberly Mae Propes of Louisville, Valerie Annette Owens-Giles of Frankfort and Toni Louise McDonald of Dunbar, Ky.; sons, Leonard Carl Hamilton and Leslie Drew Hamilton of Louisville and Lance Edwin Hamilton of Lawrenceburg; his mother, Mary Lou Humphrey Owens of Hawesville; sisters, Barbra Pulvino of California, Nancy Owens of Hawesville, Norma Edwards of Utica, Ky. and Kathy Korngruen of New Jersey; and brothers, James Anthony Owens of Yovington and John Thomas Owens of Hawesville.

The funeral was Feb. 13 at Gash Memorial Chapel in Lawrenceburg.

Wilma Burchette

Wilma Burchette, of Shelbyville, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Edward Burchette and a brother, William Blackburn of Princeton, Ky.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Saturday at Shannon Funeral Home. Visitation is 3 to 9 p.m. Friday.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. CST Monday at Cedar Hill cemetery in Princeton.

Glenna V. (Puddie) Kephart

Glenna V. (Puddie) Kephart, 92, of Bethlehem, died Saturday, April 17, 2004.

She was a native of Shelby County. She is survived by a sister, Zada K. Dowden of Pleasureville; a brother, Percy J. Kephart of New Castle.

Service was Tuesday at Sholar Funeral Home. Burial was in Pleasureville cemetery.

Maxine Dollahan Blakemore

Maxine Dollahan Blakemore, 93, of Louisville, died Friday, April 16, 2004.

She is survived by a daughter, Bette Blakemore Vaughan of Louisville; a son, Richard Blakemore of Grundy, Va.

The funeral was Monday at Shannon Funeral Home. Burial was in Grove Hill cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Baptist Home East in Louisville.

Jeanette E. Porter

Jeanette E. Porter, 62, of Taylorsville, died Saturday, April 17, 2004.

She is survived by her mother, Margie Edwards Porter of Taylorsville; two sisters, Myra Hardesty of Shelbyville, Linda Wise of Frankfort.

The funeral was Tuesday at Hall-Taylor Funeral Home in Taylorsville. Burial was in Valley cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to First Christian Church of Taylorsville.

Hattie Frances Blackwell Seward

Hattie Frances Blackwell Seward, 77, of Shelbyville, died Sunday, April 18, 2004.

She is survived by three daughters, Connie Sharpe and Jessica Hargis, both of Shelbyville, Kathy Raley of Lawrenceburg; four brothers, Parke Blackwell Jr. and Don Blackwell, both of Shelbyville, Lewis Blackwell of Florida, George Blackwell of Finchville; one sister, Ethel Mae Walters of Shelbyville.

The funeral was Tuesday at Shannon Funeral Home. Burial was in Lawrenceburg cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of Louisville or favorite charity.

Mary Ritchey, 85, of Waddy, died Thursday, April 15, 2004.

She is survived by her husband, James William Ritchey of Waddy; daughters, Doris Ann Ritchey, Lillie Mae Carris, both of Waddy; sons, James Ritchey Jr. of Waddy, Marvin Lee Ritchey of Hatton, Stewart Eugene Ritchey of Shelbyville, William Paul Ritchey of Avenstoke; brothers, Irvin Thomas Ritchey, Lloyd Lee Richey, both of Frankfort; sister, Mabel C. Ritchey Lavella of Pennsylvania.

The funeral was Monday at Shannon Funeral Home. Burial was in Pigeon Fork cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Pigeon Fork Baptist Church or Hospice of Louisville.

Frances Snider Warrick

Frances Snider Warrick, 88, of Louisville, died Friday, April 16, 2004.

He is survived by a brother, Guthrie Snider of Mount Washington; several nephews and nieces including Ben Zaring, Lawson Zaring, Alan Zaring, all of Shelby County.

Graveside services were Monday at Valley cemetery of Taylorsville.

He is survived by his a son, George Robert Best of Shelbyville; a brother, Gilbert Best of Shelbyville.

The funeral was Thursday at Shannon Funeral Home. Burial was in Grove Hill cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Shelby Christian Church building fund.

Catherine Mae Carter

Catherine Mae Carter, 80, of Eminence, died Monday, April 19, 2004.

She was a native of Shelby County. She is survived by half brothers, Everett Lee Rucker of Carrollton, Freddie Lyn Rucker of Waddy, James Ray Rucker of Lockport. Memorial graveside services will be set at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of Louisville. Prewitt Eminence Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Virginia Lemke

Virginia Lemke, 63, died Sunday, April 18, 2004.

There will be a private service held by the family at a later time. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Hospice of Louisville or American Cancer Society. Shannon Funeral Service handled the arrangements.

Evelyn Goodlett Ruble

Evelyn Goodlett Ruble, 71, of Harrodsburg, formerly of Waddy, died Wednesday, April 14, 2004.

She is survived by a son, John W. Ruble of Harrodsburg; sisters Rosie Holmes of Southville, Juanita Swigert of Shelbyville, Linna Mae Gill of Frankfort, and Josephine Hawkins, Dorothy Peach and Carol Crabb, all of Lawrenceburg; brothers Carl Goodlett of Lawrenceburg, Bud Goodlett of New Castle, Jack Goodlett of Taylorsville, Ray Goodlett of Louisville, and William Robert Goodlett Jr. of Mount Washington.

The funeral was Monday at Gash Memorial Chapel. Burial was in Mount Vernon cemetery in Shelby County.

Edward Earl Satterley, 60, of Franklin County, died Monday, April 19, 2004.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Henry Satterley of Frankfort; mother, Elizabeth Casey Walker of Texas; a son, William Satterley of Frankfort; four daughters, Carol Denise Satterley of Waddy, Barbara Jean Cox of Frankfort, Anita Anglin of Frankfort, Paulisa Gaines of Shelbyville; two brothers, Charles Satterley of Shelbyville, James Satterley of Frankfort; two sisters, Barbara Stewart of Frankfort, Edith Hill of Waddy.

The funeral was Thursday at Harrod Brothers Memorial Chapel. Burial was in Bagdad cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass, Shelby County Chapter.

Alyce Marie Galati

Alyce Marie Galati, 57, of Shelby County, died Tuesday, April 20, 2004.

She is survived by her husband, Louis A. Galati of Shelby County; son, Louis T. Galati of Simpsonville; daughter, Jennifer Acree of Shelbyville; mother, Lucille Miller Gobeli of Ohio; sister, Carolyn McGirr of Florida.

The funeral was Thursday at Foreman Funeral Home in Jeffersontown. Burial was in Resthaven Memorial Park.
