Megan Clark, 25, of 4120 Brentwood Drive, Owensboro, died Tuesday, May 15, 2001, of injuries suffered in an automobile accident. The Evansville native worked in sales for Commonwealth Wine and Spirits, was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church and a graduate of Daviess County High School and Kentucky Wesleyan College. She was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, enjoyed reading, traveling, being with people and her family.

Survivors include her parents, P. Michael and Rose Clark of Owensboro; a brother, Brian Clark of Owensboro; and a sister, Erin Clark of Owensboro.

Services are at noon Friday at Blessed Mother Catholic Church in Owensboro. Entombment is in Resurrection cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 1 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro. Prayers will be said at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Daviess County Special Olympics, P.O. Box 764, Owensboro, KY 42302.

Helen Hanks

ROME, Ind. -- Helen Hanks, 54, of Rome died Friday, May 4, 2001, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City, Ind. The Rome native enjoyed fishing and animals.

Survivors include a son, Lee Hanks of Rome; her father, Robert E. Hanks of Rome; a brother, Robert O. Hanks of Cannelton, Ind.; and three nieces.

Services and burial will be at a later date. Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home in Tell City is handling arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Ohio Valley Animal Shelter.

James Earl Gregory

LEWISPORT -- James Earl Gregory, 61, of Lewisport died Wednesday, May 16, 2001, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. The Lewisport native worked as a conservation officer for the Kentucky State Fish and Wildlife Department, worked for the Army Corps of Engineers for 12 years and was president of Gregory & Associates River Divers Inc. for 10 years.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy Geary Gregory; two sons, Robert C. Gregory of Gary, Ind., and James David Gregory of Bowling Green; a daughter, Katherine Ann Gregory of Barrington, Ill.; four grandchildren; and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. Gregory of Lewisport.

Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Taylor-Raymond-Spear Funeral Home in Lewisport. Burial will be in Lewisport cemetery. Visitation is after 2 p.m. Friday and after 8 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Walter Ray Simpson
27 May 2001

Walter Ray Simpson, 81, of Owensboro died there Saturday, May 26, 2001, at Hillcrest Healthcare Center. The Daviess County native retired from Texas Gas in Owensboro. He was a Baptist and World War II veteran. His wife, Deloris Simpson, died Dec. 21, 2000.

Survivors include three daughters, Wanda McClure of Owensboro, Edna Jernigan of Lewisport and Wanda Colyer of Greenville; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services are at 2 p.m. Monday at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville. Burial will be in Cates cemetery in Whitesville. Visitation is from 4 to 9 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

George Edward Grant
25 May 2001

HARTFORD -- George Edward Grant, 85, of Hartford died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Central City native was a World War II Army veteran, received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart and was a nondenominational church member. He owned Dockerys Slaughter House and Sunshine Cleaners in Hartford and served on the Hartford Volunteer Fire Department as a truck driver and secretary-treasurer for 35 years. His daughter, Sue Grant, died in 1995.

Survivors include his wife, Lucy R. Grant; a son, Mike Grant of Centertown; a daughter, Dottie Coy of Hartford; and a sister, Mary Hill of Sebring, Fla.

Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Duke-Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Hartford. Burial will be in Dockery Family cemetery near Beaver Dam. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Ruth Bennett

GRANDVIEW, Ind. -- Ruth Bennett, 76, of Grandview died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System from cancer. The Rockport, Ind., native was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Ralph Bennett; a daughter, Sharon F. Schweizer of Grandview; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, Ind. Burial will be in Sunset Hill cemetery in Rockport. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Dewey L. Myers
29 May 2001

OLATON -- Dewey L. Myers, 84, of Olaton died Sunday, May 27, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Ohio County native retired from Whirlpool Co. in Evansville, was a member and deacon of Olaton Missionary Baptist Church and a member of Dundee Masonic Lodge 733. He was a member of Gideon's International and a World War II Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Stella "Midge" Cundiff Myers; three sons, William L. Myers and Donald R. Myers, both of Hartford, and Frederick L. Myers of Olaton; two daughters, Mary Ann Casteel of Olaton and Phyllis J. Hackbarth of Honolulu; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fairview Missionary Baptist Church in Olaton. Burial will be in McCord cemetery in Olaton. Visitation is from 3 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Danks Funeral Home and after noon Wednesday at the church.

Louise P. Reichenbach

LOUISVILLE -- Louise P. Reichenbach, 80, of Louisville died there Saturday, May 26, 2001, at her home. The Owensboro native was a school cafeteria manager for St. Ignatius School in Louisville. She was a member of St. Martha Senior Citizens Club and Eagle Creek Bunco Club.

Survivors include her husband, Walter R. Reichenbach Sr.; three sons, Walter R. Reichenbach Jr. of Dale City, Va., and Mike Reichenbach and Steve Reichenbach, both of Louisville; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill Powell of Louisville; and a sister, Lena Hubbuch of Mount Washington.

Services are at 10 a.m. EDT Wednesday at St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church in Louisville. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs cemetery in Stanford. Visitation is from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home in Louisville. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to WHAS Crusade for Children, P.O. Box 1100, Louisville, KY 40201.

Katie Moore

LEWISPORT -- Katie Moore, 91, of Lewisport died there Friday, May 25, 2001, at her home. The Lewisport native was a member of Lewisport United Methodist Church. Her husband, Gus E. Moore, died in 1983.

Survivors include several nephews and nieces.

Services are at 2 p.m. Monday at Taylor-Raymond-Spear Funeral Home in Lewisport. Burial will be in Lewisport cemetery. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 8 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Jesse Taylor Beard Jr.

HARDINSBURG -- Jesse Taylor Beard Jr., 41, of Hardinsburg died Sunday, May 20, 2001, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. The Breckinridge County native was owner of Pro-Golf in Louisville and a member of Hardinsburg Baptist Church.

Survivors include his companion, Lana Beard; two stepdaughters, Kenda Cox of Hardinsburg and Dannielle Decker of Brandenburg; two stepgrandchildren; his mother, Brucie Beard of Irvington; and four sisters, Sylvia Ann Beard of Owensboro, Martha Bruce Beard and Nancy Lou Beard, both of Hardinsburg, and Sally Storms of Westview.

Services are at 1 p.m. Thursday at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg. Burial will be in Ivy Hill cemetery in Hardinsburg. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Jewish Hospital Liver Transplant Program, 217 E. CENTRAL CITY -- Betty Lou Girten, 56, of Central City died Saturday, May 26, 2001, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. The Daviess County native was a homemaker and a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Central City.

Survivors include her husband, John Girten; five daughters, Aretha Morris of Owensboro, Lena Massey of Temple, Ga., Lisa Payne of Central City, Vicki Reed of Beaver Dam and Carolyn Girten of Central City; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Lawerence Pierce of Owensboro; and two sisters, Mary Daugherty and Nellie Smith, both of Owensboro.

Services are at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in Fairmount cemetery in Central City. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Addison E. 'Junior' Brock

RICHLAND, Ind. -- Addison E. "Junior" Brock, 60, of Richland died there Friday, May 18, 2001, from cancer. The Bristow, Ind., native was a coal miner for 31 years and a member of United Mine Workers of America, React and the Lions Club.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Lucille Brock; a son, Robert E. Brock of Richland, Ind.; two daughters, Sheila K. Carver of Richland and Teresa L. Richey of Carthage, Tenn.; four grandchildren; four brothers, Donald Brock, Arlie Brock and Dow Brock, all of Tell City, Ind., and Wayne Brock of Rockport, Ind.; eight sisters, Mary Seals of Louisville, Francis Hammack of Centralia, Ill., Ardella Keiser of Gentryville, Ind., Mildred Leistner, Bonnie Hermann, Thelma Rothgerber and Darlene Brock, all of Tell City, Ind., and Sharon Kyle of Jasper, Ind.

Services are at 1 p.m. Monday at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, Ind. Burial will be in Mount Zion cemetery in Richland, Ind. Visitation is from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 8 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Francis 'F.M.' Rose Sr.

RICHLAND, Ind. -- Francis "F.M." Rose Sr., 73, of Richland died Saturday, May 19, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System from heart failure. The Neafus native was a construction worker, a member of Free Zion General Baptist Church and International Union of Labor and Hodearries Local 561. He was a member of American Legion Post 213, Mid Valley Gospel Singers and was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Betty Joann Rose; two sons, Fritz Rose of Rome, Ind., and Bruce Rose of Rockport, Ind.; three daughters, Brela Crouch of Richland, Teri Ball of Grandview, Ind., and Mary Herron of Rockport, Ind.; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Craine of Caneyville and Joe Craine of Beaver Dam.

Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, Ind. Burial will be in Hacklemann cemetery in Chrisney, Ind. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Kidney Foundation or American Diabetes Association.

Douglas Wade Reynolds

Douglas Wade Reynolds, 71, of 4129 Hunting Creek Drive, Owensboro, died Tuesday, July 10, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Kodak native was a petroleum geologist, a member of First Baptist Church and earned Kentucky Oil and Gas Association's 1996 Petroleum Professional Award. He was certified by American Institute of Professional Geologists and American Association of Petroleum Geologists. He received degrees from Berea College and Indiana University and enjoyed fishing and golf.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Ann Reynolds; two sons, Douglas Wade Reynolds Jr. of Lexington and Bryan Robert Reynolds of Owensboro; two daughters, Jennifer Ann Moehrle of St. Louis and Suzanne Christine Reynolds of Lexington; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Harold Reynolds of Mobile, Ala., and Rex Reynolds of Houston; and a sister, Bonnie Blackson of Mobile, Ala.

Services are at 1 p.m. Friday CDT at First Baptist Church in Owensboro. Graveside services are at 11 a.m. EDT Saturday at Harrogate cemetery in Harrogate, Tenn., and from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 10:30 to 12:30 p.m. Friday at James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Pine Mountain Settlement School, 36 Kentucky 510, Bledsoe, KY 40810-8289.
