HAWESVILLE -- Patrick Thomas McFall, infant son of Mr. & Mrs. Charles T. McFall of Hawesville, was stillborn Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System.

Survivors also include his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Ronald Vangrift, Delores McFall, and Robert O. Driskoll, all of Hawesville.

Graveside services are at 11 a.m. Monday at Fairview cemetery. Gibson & Son Funeral Home in Hawesville is handling arrangements.

Larry Neal Aldridge

HAWESVILLE -- Larry Neal Aldridge, 53, of Radcliff, formerly of Hawesville, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2001, at his home. The Owensboro native was a Methodist, worked at Ireland Army Hospital and was an Army veteran.

Survivors include a brother, George Aldridge of Hawesville; a sister, Debbie Puckett of Hawesville; four nephews; four nieces; and an uncle.

Services are private. Burial will be in Serenity Hills cemetery in Hawesville. Gibson & Son Funeral Home in Hawesville is in charge of arrangements.

Maxine Roberts
2 October 2001

HATFIELD, Ind. -- Maxine Roberts, 80, of Evansville, formerly of Hatfield, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2001, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. The Fort Branch, Ind., native was a machinist for Zenith Electronic Corp. and was a former member of Hatfield United Methodist Church. Her husband, Monty Roberts, died in 1981.

Survivors include three sons, Michael Roberts of Russellville, Terry Roberts of Charlestown, Ind., and Robin Roberts of Hatfield; three daughters, Sherry West and Becky Barker, both of Evansville, and Brenda Saddler of Long Grove, Ill.; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Betty Noble and Iris Boston, both of Evansville.

Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hatfield United Methodist Church. Burial will be in James Parker cemetery in Hatfield. Visitation is from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, Ind., and after 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Arthritis Foundation.

Stella Stovall Gossett

WALNUT COVE, N.C. -- Stella Stovall Gossett, 97, of Walnut Cove, formerly of Muhlenberg County, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2001, at Walnut Cove nursing home. She was a housewife and member of Akron (Ohio) Baptist Temple. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Gossett; and a son, Jim Gossett.

Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Riffle; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services and burial were Friday. Prentiss Funeral Home in Akron, Ohio, was in charge of arrangements.

James F. Ritter
12 October 2001

James F. Ritter, 64, of Utica died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Flint, Mich., native retired as an auto body repair specialist. He enjoyed fishing and yardwork. He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Ritter, in 1994; and a daughter, Maureen Ritter, in 1984.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Sharon A. Ritter; a son, James Ritter of Utica; seven daughters, Kimberly Bickett and Sheryl Pomeroy, both of Flint, Dorinda Sosh, Lisa Collier and Jody Dodd, all of Owensboro, Robin Collier of Marion, Ohio, and Jolene Ritter of Utica; 21 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services are at 3 p.m. Saturday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home. Visitation is after 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Make A Wish Foundation Children Network, 100 W. Clarendon, Phoenix, MS 85013.

Mary S. O'Bryan

Mary S. O'Bryan, 83, of 1801 Hillbridge Road, Owensboro, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Stanley native retired from General Electric as group leader and was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral. She was a member of Silver Bells Group and Daviess County Homemakers in Madisonville. She was a Kentucky Colonel and enjoyed making quilts and collecting carnival glass. Her husband, Joseph G. O'Bryan, died in 1983.

Survivors include two brothers, Jack Strobel of London, England, and John Allen Strobel of Owensboro; a sister, Agnes Davis of Owensboro; and several nephews and nieces.

Services are at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Stephen Cathedral in Owensboro. Burial will be in St. Peter cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home. Prayers will be said at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Howard Douglas Craddock
3 October 2001

BOWLING GREEN -- Howard Douglas Craddock, 87, of Bowling Green died Monday, Oct. 1, 2001, at Rosewood Health Care Center. The Hart County native retired from Holley Carburetor as an inspector and was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth Holland Craddock; a son, James Edward Craddock of Hendersonville, Tenn.; a daughter, Ann Craddock Ellis of Sacramento; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Louis Craddock of Bowling Green, Leslie Craddock of Franklin and Robert Craddock of Glendale, Calif.; a sister, Elizabeth Reinertsen of Bowling Green; and several nephews and nieces.

Services are at 11:30 a.m. today at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Chapel, Lovers Lane, in Bowling Green. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery in Bowling Green. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to American Red Cross Tribute to America, 1805 Campbell Lane, Bowling Green, KY 42104 or American Diabetes Association, 721 W. Main St., Suite 102, Louisville, KY 40202.

Elsie Bratcher

POWDERLY -- Elsie Bratcher, 80, of Louisville, formerly of Powderly, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001, at Caritas Hospital in Louisville. The Muhlenberg County native was a homemaker and member of Community Baptist Church in Louisville.

Survivors include a son, Harold De Hart of Louisville; a daughter, Patricia Holderbaum of Louisville; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in Fairmount cemetery in Central City. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Theresa Maria Keating

Theresa Maria Keating, 38, of 728 Isaac Shelby Drive, Owensboro, died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Chicago native was a homemaker and member of St. Pius Tenth Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, Alan Michael Keating; a son, Kyle Michael Keating of Owensboro; a daughter, Andria Keating of Owensboro; her mother, Betty Girten of Central City; maternal grandmother, Louise Lyle of Ellington, Fla.; several uncles and aunts; and several cousins.

Services are at 7 p.m. today at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro. Visitation is after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to American Heart Association Ohio Valley Affiliate, 333 Guthrie St., Suite 207, Louisville, KY 40202.

Charles William 'Bill' Calhoun

HIGHLAND, Ind. -- Charles William "Bill" Calhoun, 64, of Highland, formerly of Owensboro, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001, at Porter Memorial Hospital in Valpariso, Ind. The Curdsville native retired from Walsh & Kelly Construction Co. as a cement finisher, was a Catholic and a member of Cement Mason Local No. 165.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Elizabeth Suzanne Calhoun; four sons, William Calhoun and Tim Calhoun, both of Griffith, Ind., Joe Calhoun of Portage, Ind., and Greg Calhoun of Highland; two daughters, Marian Calhoun of Maryland and Melissa Peters of Griffith; seven grandchildren; five brothers, J.W. Calhoun of Henderson, Nev., Jim Calhoun and Tom Calhoun, both of Owensboro, Donnie Calhoun of Las Vegas and David Calhoun of Arkansas; five sisters, Martha Wurth of Paducah and Pat Greenwell, Dolores Roberts, Nancy Chappell and Darlene LeMaster, all of Owensboro; and several nephews and nieces.

Services are at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Owensboro. Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Prayers will be said at 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Make-A-Wish Foundation or a favorite charity.

Beulah Daugherty

HARDINSBURG -- Beulah Daugherty, 90, of Shepherdsville, formerly of Hardinsburg, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2001, in Shepherdsville. The Breckinridge County native was preceded in death by her husband, John W. "Jay" Daugherty, on June 27, 1997; and a son, William Daugherty.

Survivors include a brother, William Board of Hardinsburg; and three grandchildren.

Graveside services are at 1 p.m. today at Cloverport cemetery. Visitation is after noon today at Wallace Funeral Home in Cloverport.

Gene Rhea Johnson
1 October 2001

GREENVILLE -- Gene Rhea Johnson, 70, of Greenville died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. The Muhlenberg County native retired from Tennessee Valley Authority and was a Korean War veteran. He was a member of Greenville Second Baptist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars in Greenville and American Legion in Central City. A son, Gene Rhea "Butch" Johnson Jr., died in 1998.

Survivors include two daughters, Teresa Shutt and Belinda Lear, both of Greenville; three stepdaughters, Tina Jordan of Virginia, Pennie Little of Lexington and Anita Reno of Louisville; four grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; a brother, L.A. Johnson of Greenville; and a sister, Omanel Robertson of Greenville.

Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery in Greenville. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
