Rick Barr, 40, of Whitesville died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System from injuries suffered in an all-terrain vehicle accident. The Daviess County native worked at Unilever Bestfoods and was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church. He was involved with Teens Encounter Christ and music ministry. He enjoyed barbecuing and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Tonya A. Barr; a son, Patrick Barr, at home; a daughter, Amanda Barr, at home; two brothers, Donald Barr of Hartford and Charles Barr of Owensboro; and three sisters, Carla Barr of Owensboro, Brenda Ethridge of Whitesville and Anita Barr of Tampa, Fla.

Services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Whitesville. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery in Whitesville. Visitation is after 2 p.m. today and after noon Sunday at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville. Prayers will be said at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Richard Barr Family Trust, c/o Republic Bank in Owensboro.

Raymond Michael Stinnett

MORGANTOWN -- Raymond Michael Stinnett, 38, of Morgantown died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. The Nashville native was a Western Kentucky University boiler operator.

Survivors include his wife, Ellen Engler Stinnett; a son, Jason Michael Stinnett of Calhoun; a daughter, Caitlan Michelle Stinnett of Morgantown; a stepdaughter, Katessa Lynn Moore of Morgantown; his parents, Raymond B. Stinnett of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., and Mary Sue Fuqua Stinnett of Bowling Green; his grandmothers, Olivia Mullins of Lawrenceburg and Gladys Dunham of Portland, Tenn.; a brother, Richard Edward Stinnett of Bowling Green; and a sister, Valerie Gail Stinnett of Morgantown.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday at Jones Funeral Chapel in Morgantown. Burial will be in Bethel cemetery. Visitation is after 11 a.m. today at the funeral home.

Marie G. Morris Carr

Marie G. Morris Carr, 83, of 1664 S. Parkdale Drive, Owensboro, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Owensboro native retired from General Electric Co. and was a member of Rosary Makers Club. She was a member of Peoples Baptist Church for more than 50 years and taught Sunday school for 20 years. She was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church and enjoyed dancing and making quilts for family. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Elmer Morris in 1982 and Clinton R. Carr in 1999.

Survivors include a son, Robert Elmer Morris of Frisco City, Ala.; a daughter, Anita Quiggins of Owensboro; three stepsons, Joe Carr and Philip Carr, both of Owensboro, and Mike Carr of Herndon, Va.; three stepdaughters, Theresa Carr, Charlotte Kamuf and Mary Carr, all of Owensboro; 11 grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; nine stepgreat-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.

Services are at 2 p.m. Friday at James H. Davis Funeral Home chapel in Owensboro. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after noon Friday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Peoples Baptist Church, 700 Wing Ave., Owensboro, KY 42303 or Blessed Mother Catholic Church, 515 E. 22nd St., Owensboro, KY 42303.

Marie Payne

Marie Payne, 76, of 1205 Leitchfield Road, Owensboro, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at Leisure Years Nursing Home. The Indiana native was a member of Southeast Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Payne; and a daughter, Debbie K. Bolling, on Feb. 16, 2001.

Survivors include two sons, Ronnie Payne of Owensboro and David Payne of Ocala, Fla.; a daughter, Anna Roberts of Owensboro; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lenora "Nonie" Wells and Linda Lois Sorrells, both of Owensboro.

There are no services or visitation. James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro is in charge of arrangements.

Eugene Stanley
28 November 2001

GREENVILLE -- Eugene Stanley, 78, of Greenville died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville after a brief illness. The Muhlenberg County native retired from Peabody Coal Co. in 1985 after 17 years, attended Lee Hill Church in Depoy and was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Alvina Stanley; two sons, Thomas Stanley of Bremen and Harold Stanley of Belton; two daughters, Rita Rager of Powderly and Pamela Crabtree of Greenville; and a sister, Lucille Miller of Depoy.

Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Gary's Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery in Depoy. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

A. Elizabeth Whitaker Flamen

LOUISVILLE -- A. Elizabeth Whitaker Flamen, 73, of Louisville died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001. The Muhlenberg County native retired from Jefferson County Board of Education Food Services, was a member of Crescent Hill United Methodist Church and former member of Clifton Heights Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Robert M. Flamen; two daughters, Robin Roach of Owensboro and Kim Hundley of Shepherdsville; four granddaughters; a great-grandson; two brothers, James Ray Whitaker and Ben Whitaker; and three sisters, Kathleen Stelzig, JoNell "Joyce" Deacon and Faye Whitaker.

Services are at 1 p.m. Friday EST at Highlands Funeral Home in Louisville. Burial will be in Resthaven cemetery in Louisville. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Crescent Hills United Methodist Church and Hospice of Louisville.

Johnny W. Baughn

EVANSVILLE -- Johnny W. Baughn, 67, of Evansville died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, at his home from cancer. He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Patsy J. Baughn; a son, Samuel C. Combs; and a daughter, Teresa M. Cosby.

Survivors include six sons, Terry Ray Baughn of Hartford, Daniel Baughn, Michael R. Combs and Gray Combs, all of Evansville, Steven Combs of Mount Vernon, Ind., and William Combs of Seymour, Ind.; two daughters, Angila La'Dean White of Utica and Mary Ann Sherman of Evansville; 25 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services are at 1 p.m. Monday at Alexander West Chapel in Evansville. Burial will be in Alexander Memorial Park in Evansville. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Deaconess Hospital or Ohio Valley Hospice.

Claude Junior Oller

BROWDER -- Claude Junior Oller, 75, of Browder died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2001, at his home. The Butler County native was a saw mill worker and member of Browder Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include three brothers, Roy Oller of Powderly, Glendon Oller of Hammond, Ind., and Paul Oller of Browder; four sisters, Gladys Stevens and Norma Sides, both of Central City, Dottie Truelove of Evansville and Jo Ann Vick of Cleaton; and several nephews and nieces.

Services and burial are private. Tucker Funeral Home in Central City is in charge of arrangements.

Douglas L. Bright

TELL CITY, Ind. -- Douglas L. Bright, 86, of Tell City died Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, at Woodmont Health Campus in Boonville, Ind. The Killeen, Texas, native retired from A & H Trucklines in 1972 and was a Pentecostal minister for 42 years. He pastored Park Place Mission in Evansville for 14 years and was a missionary to Mexico for 20 years. His wife of 57 years, Julia Wicks Bright, died Feb. 15, 1995.

Survivors include six daughters, Faye Bright Bailey of Nashville, Joan Diane Pearson of San Francisco, Linda French of Paramount, Calif., Karen Kenagy of Kansas City, Mo., Lana Bright Higgins of Columbia, S.C., and Denise Mullen of Tell City; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, DeWayne Bright of Fort Myers Beach, Fla., and Billy Bright of Oakland, Calif.; and two sisters, Ruth Corley of Eugene, Ore., and Alberta Allen of New Albany, Ind.

Services are at 10 a.m. EST Tuesday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home in Tell City. Burial will be in Selvin cemetery in Lynnville, Ind. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Council of Agency Childrens Fund.

Bennie Vincent

GRAHAM -- Bennie Vincent, 88, of Graham died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital Emergency Room. The Muhlenberg County native retired from Duncan Coal Co. in 1956 after 27 years and from Geibel Saw Mill in 1980 after 23 years. He was a member of Corley Chapel Baptist Church and United Mine Workers of America.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Sarah Vincent; four sons, Kenneth E. Vincent and David Vincent, both of Graham, Bennie Leon Vincent of Hanson and Mark Vincent of Washington, D.C.; a daughter, Elizabeth Reed of Greenville; a stepson, Billy Reed of Rockport, Ky.; three stepdaughters, Betty Sanders of Depoy, Mary Gary of Luzerne and Brenda Reed of Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren; and 16 stepgrandchildren.

Services are at 2 p.m. Friday at Gary's Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will be in Graham cemetery. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Bedford L. Brasher
24 November 2001

Bedford L. Brasher, 87, of Owensboro died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001, at Hospice of Witchita Falls, Texas, following a brief illness. The Daviess County native retired from the Air Force in 1958 after 22 years of service. He served in the Philippines, France, Korea and in Germany during World War II with the 10th Armored Division. He was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Chloe Wiggins Brasher.

Survivors include four sons, Edward L. Brasher and James E. Brasher, both of Houston, William A. Brasher of St. Louis and John W. Brasher of Witchita Falls; a stepdaughter, Barbara D. Phillips of Owensboro; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services are at 1 p.m. Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro. Burial will be in Rosehill cemetery in Owensboro with full military honors conducted. Visitation is after noon Sunday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Salvation Army.

Harold Glenn
6 December 2001

CANNELTON, Ind. -- Harold Glenn, 76, of Cannelton died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, at Beverly Health Care in Tell City, Ind., from emphysema complications. The Cannelton native graduated from Cannelton High School and retired from Can-Clay Corp. in Cannelton after 40 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of First United Methodist Church in Cannelton and enjoyed antiques, auctions and raising horses. His wife, Gertrude Shadwick Glenn, died in 1998.

Survivors include three sons, Harold Lee Glenn and John David Glenn, both of Cannelton, and Danny Joe Glenn of Troy, Ind.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, William "Pooner" Glenn of Cannelton; and two sisters, Cecil Kincaid and Edna Hubbs, both of Tell City.

Services are at 11 a.m. Friday at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton chapel. Burial will be in New Cliff cemetery in Cannelton. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to First United Methodist Church.
