Joseph Lorenzia Fulkerson

Joseph Lorenzia Fulkerson, 88, of 5165 Todd Bridge Road, Owensboro, died Thursday, March 28, 2002, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Daviess County native was a farmer and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, the church's Leisure Club and Ministers of Praise and Farm Bureau. He was a Kentucky Colonel and enjoyed gardening and raising giant pumpkins. His wife, Elizabeth Payne Fulkerson, died in 1981.

Survivors include two sons, Patrick Fulkerson and Charles Fulkerson, both of Owensboro; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services are at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Owensboro. Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 8:30 a.m. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro. Prayers will be said at 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Carolyn Jean Allgood, age 46, of 4333 Hawesville-Easton Road, Reynolds Station, Kentucky, died Sunday, September 8, 2002 at Owensboro Mercy Health System. A native of Breckinridge County, she was born April 26, 1956. Ms Allgood attended Harmony Baptist Church, and enjoyed flower gardening. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Dustin Ray Dukes in 2001.

Ms. Algood is survived by her fiancée, Paul Payne of Hawesville, and her parents, Charles and Dorothy McCarty of Maceo. She is also survived by her five children, Herbert Allgood of Owensboro, Tammy Allgood and Dorothy Allgood, both of Maceo, Debbie Allgood of Lebanon, Kentucky, and Anna Allgood of Cannelton, Indiana; thirteen grandchildren; four brothers, Kenny McCarty of Knoxville, Tennessee, J.T. McCarty, and Larry McCarty, both of Maceo, and Charles McCarty of Breckinridge County, Kentucky; three sisters, Anna Hamilton of Lewisport, Dessie Poole of Thruston, and Nancy Smiley of Owensboro, Kentucky, and several nieces and nephews, also are left surviving.

Funeral services will be at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, September 11, 2002. Burial will follow in Iron Ore Hill cemetery in rural Daviess County. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 10, from 1 to 8 p.m. and after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday until funeral time.

Joseph C. Pagan

Joseph C. Pagan, 82, of 1337 W. 15th St., Owensboro, died Saturday, March 9, 2002, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Daviess County native retired from Glenmore Distillery as assistant general manager after 46 years and was a member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church. He was an Army Artillery Corps captain veteran of World War II and enjoyed spending time with neighborhood children.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Othel Bartlett Pagan; a son, Joseph Terry Pagan of Owensboro; a daughter, Sherry Jean Charlton of Owensboro; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, C.W. Pagan of Pontiac, Mich.; and two sisters, Regina Dye of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Brownie Pagan of Evansville.

Services are at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home chapel in Owensboro. Burial will be in Rosehill cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Settle Memorial United Methodist Church Youth Ministries & Programs, 201 E. 4th St., Owensboro, KY 42303.

Pauline S. Ferguson

Pauline S. Ferguson, 86, of Philpot died Friday, March 8, 2002, at Heartland Villa in Lewisport. The Daviess County native retired from the former Our Lady of Mercy Hospital and was a member of SS. Joseph & Paul Catholic Church, Legion of Mary and Altar Society. She was a Kentucky Colonel and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Chester Ferguson; three sons, Carroll C. Ferguson, Ben Harvey Ferguson and Michael J. Ferguson, all of Owensboro; a daughter, Lana Rae Crowe of Owensboro; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Catherine Bryant of Owensboro and Louise Scherm of Henderson.

Services are at 10 a.m. Monday at SS. Joseph & Paul Catholic Church in Owensboro. Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 8:30 a.m. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro. Prayers will be said at 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Rachel Bivin Salmon

Rachel Bivin Salmon, 88, of 909 Parkway Drive, Owensboro, died Monday, March 11, 2002, at her home. The Daviess County native retired from General Electric Co. after 29 years and was a member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church. She enjoyed University of Kentucky athletics and watching golf. Her husband, Harold Salmon, died in July 1971.

Survivors include three nieces, Lillian Watts, Dorothy Clark and Barbara Greenwell, all of Owensboro.

Services are at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at James H. Davis Funeral Home chapel in Owensboro. Burial will be in Rosehill cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Jimmy Ray Pentecost

GREENVILLE - Jimmy Ray Pentecost, 68, of Greenville died Friday, March 8, 2002, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. The Muhlenberg County native retired from Peabody Coal Co. as a miner and was a Baptist and member of United Mine Workers Association.

Survivors include his wife, Faye Smith Pentecost; three sons, Danny Pentecost of Greenville, Gary Pentecost of Huntsville, Ala., and Steve Smith of Beechmont; a daughter, Angie Mercer of Greenville; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Lois Dukes of Greenville; and several nephews and nieces.

Services are at 1 p.m. Monday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens cemetery in Powderly. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Dorothy Miller Thurman

SACRAMENTO - Dorothy Miller Thurman, 75, of Sacramento died there Wednesday, March 6, 2002. The Millport native was owner-operator of Dorothy's Custom House in Sacramento for more than 30 years, was a member of Sacramento Cumberland Presbyterian Church and enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include her husband, Leroy Thurman; a son, Keith Rickard of Owensboro; two daughters, Pam Jameson of Gainesville, Ga., and Lori Ramage of Madisonville; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four brothers, W.C. "Sonny" Miller of Rough River and Ronnie Miller, Frankie Miller and Dennis Miller, all of Bremen; two sisters, Helen Hobgood of Louisville and Jean Caldwell of Bremen; and several nephews and nieces.

Services are at 11 a.m. Monday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Burial will be in Brier Creek Cumberland Presbyterian cemetery in Millport. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Sacramento Cumberland Presbyterian Church Building Fund, c/o the Rev. John Butler, P.O. Box 257, Sacramento, KY 42372.

Martha K. Main

Martha K. Main, 67, of 1624 Alexander Ave., Owensboro, died Saturday, March 9, 2002, at her home. The Hancock County native retired from Owensboro city school system as a teacher's aide and worked at Executive Inn for 15 years. She was a member of Seven Hills Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading, canning, traveling and watching her grandchildren compete in sports.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Ralph E. Main; five sons, Ralph Main Jr. of Atlanta and Bruce Main, Clint Main, Chris Main and Sam Main, all of Owensboro; two daughters, Sally Pate and Joyce Akers, both of Owensboro; 10 grandchildren; a half brother, Eugene Hayden of Hancock County; and a half sister, Mary Lou Owens of Hancock County.

Services are at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home chapel in Owensboro. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. GRANDVIEW, Ind. - Mary Janet "Chrisney" Lloyd, 79, of Grandview died Saturday, April 6, 2002, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville. The Chrisney, Ind., native was a homemaker, a Holy Cross Lutheran Church member and a 56-year member of Santa Claus American Legion Auxiliary. She was a member of Grandview Civic Association, worked at C.V. Jones, Ken-Rad and Republic Aviation and was former owner and operator of Shady Lawn Dairy Bar in Grandview, Ind.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Joe Fred Lloyd; two sons, Fred Lloyd and Max Lloyd, both of Princeton, Ind.; three daughters, Linda Lloyd of Rockport, Ind., Donna Hafele and Dr. Brenda Troyer, both of Evansville; five grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; a sister, Georgia Banks of Grandview; and several nephews and nieces.

Services are at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Rockport. Burial will be in Grandview cemetery. Visitation is from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Holy Cross Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.

Shirley Evans Aldridge

Shirley Evans Aldridge, 67, of 710 Daviess St., Owensboro, died Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at her home. She was a homemaker, a former receptionist at American Red Cross in Owensboro and a member of Good Shepherd Church in Owensboro. She enjoyed gospel music, attending church and spending time with her family. Her husband, George Ervin Aldridge, died Aug. 8, 1989.

Survivors include two sons, Gale Aldridge and Keith Aldridge, both of Owensboro; two granddaughters; a great-grandson; two brothers, Gilbert Evans of Bells Run and Rondie Evans of Philpot; and a sister, Mary Finley of Whitesville.

Services are at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Good Shepherd Church in Daviess County. Burial will be in Bells Run cemetery. Visitation is from 1 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice Association Inc.

David T. Hill
22 March 2002

David T. Hill, 79, of 251 Cardinal Lane, Owensboro, died Thursday, March 21, 2002, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Calhoun native retired from Field Packing Co. after 25 years as night office manager and was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. He drove armored cars with Lumis Armored Car and Purolator Armored Car. He was an Army veteran of World War II and served with the 8th Cavalry. His wife, Wanda Jean Richards Hill, died in 1984.

Survivors include a son, Mark A. Hill of Owensboro.

Services are at 7 p.m. today at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro. Burial will be Saturday in Yellow Creek cemetery in Daviess County. Visitation is after 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mildred Rickard Thompson

SACRAMENTO - Mildred Rickard Thompson, 77, of Sacramento died Thursday, March 14, 2002, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The McLean County native retired from General Electric as a tube line operator and had worked at the McLean County Help Office. She was a member of Sacramento United Methodist Church, Class of Mary Sunday school, Order of the Eastern Star and a former member of Sacramento Town Board.

Survivors include a son, Terry Ray Thompson of Calhoun; a daughter, Iris Northern of Robbinsville, N.J.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Irene West of Calhoun, Margaret Eaton of Island and Juanita Cox of Louisville.

Services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at Tucker Memorial Chapel in Sacramento. Burial will be in Cumberland Presbyterian cemetery in Sacramento. Visitation is after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Mildred Thompson Memorial, c/o Dialysis Center of Owensboro, 1930 E. Parrish Avenue, Owensboro, KY 42303.
