EVANSVILLE - Glenda Gayle Perkins Wilber, 67, of Evansville died there Thursday, April 4, 2002, at Deaconess Hospital. She retired in 1997 from Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corp. as a Title 1 Reading Aide at Tekoppel and Lincoln elementary schools after 22 years. She sang in the Damenchor and was a member of Germania Maennerchor Ladies Auxiliary, Gethsemane Temple Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary Post 1114.

Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Alfred Wilber Sr.; a son, Alfred "Jay" Wilber Jr. of Chandler, Ind.; a daughter, Anna Gumbel of Evansville; three grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; her mother, Dora Merrill of Evansville; two brothers, Nelson Terry Perkins of Haver de Grace, Md., and Daniel Perkins of Port St. Lucis, Fla.; a sister, Bettye Reynolds of Owensboro; and several nephews and nieces.

Services are at 11 a.m. Monday at Alexander West Chapel in Evansville. Entombment will be in Alexander Memorial Park in Evansville. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to American Heart Association.

Patricia Ann Allen

Patricia Ann Allen, 49, of 1204 Hathaway St, Owensboro, died Saturday, May 11, 2002 at the Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Daviess County native was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Phillip "Pudge" Allen; three daughters, Tammy Beaver, Penny Pendleton and April Allen all of Owensboro; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Floyd Rusher of Louisville, Thomas Huskisson of Owensboro, and Raymond "Bub" Huskisson of Gulfport, MS; and two sisters, Linda Barrentine of Keller, TX and Georgia Blan of Louisville.

Funeral services are 2:30 P.M. Tuesday, May 14, 2002 at the Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Elmwood cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3-8 P.M. on Monday and after 9 A.M. on Tuesday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contrubutions to Hospice or First Baptist Church.

Dan Cornette

GREENVILLE - Dan Cornette, 74, of Greenville died there Friday, March 22, 2002, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital. The Greenville native was a retired circuit judge for Muhlenberg and McLean counties. He was a 1952 graduate of University of Kentucky Law School and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of First Christian Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5478 and Order of the COIF.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Virginia Cornette; a son, Daniel J. Cornette of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a daughter, Martine Atwood of Bowling Green; a stepdaughter, Dianne Trent of Germantown, Tenn.; five grandchildren; a great-grandson; and a brother, Aubrey Cornette of Greenville.

Services are at 1 p.m. Sunday at Gary's Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery in Greenville. Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mary Lorena Simpson

Mary Lorena Simpson, 91, of Owensboro died there Sunday, March 24, 2002, at Bon Harbor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The Masonville native retired from Owensboro Public Schools as a cafeteria worker at the high school and was a member of Parrish Avenue Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester Simpson.

Survivors include several cousins.

Services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Bernadette Schooler

Bernadette Schooler, 78, of 3740 Old Hartford Road, died Saturday, April 6, 2002, at Hillcrest Health Care Center. The Daviess County native retired from Glenmore Distillery label department after 14 years, was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church and enjoyed NASCAR. A son, Michael Wayne Schooler, died Jan. 29, 1979.

Survivors include a son, Charles "Jim" Schooler Jr. of Newburgh, Ind.; two daughters, Vickie Kennedy and Pam Shaver, both of Owensboro; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a brother, William H. "Bill" Stallings of Owensboro.

Services are at noon Wednesday at Blessed Mother Catholic Church in Owensboro. Burial will be in Mater Dolorosa cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro. Prayers will be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Wendell Foster's Campus for Developmental Disabilities, 815 Triplett St., Owensboro, KY 42303.

Mary Lucille Adam Riney

LOUISVILLE - Mary Lucille Adam Riney, 80, of Louisville died there Friday, March 29, 2002, at Caritas Medical Center. She was an Owensboro native.

Survivors include her husband, J.E. "Jack" Riney; a son, Jim Riney; a daughter, Carol Rensel; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters.

Services are at noon Tuesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Louisville. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery in Louisville. Visitation is from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Ratterman Brothers Funeral Home Inc. in Louisville. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Nazareth Home.

Maureen Edge

RUSSELLVILLE - Maureen Edge, 64, of Russellville, formerly of Owensboro, died Wednesday, March 20, 2002, at Logan Memorial Hospital. The Trinidad, Tobago, native worked at Community Action Agency and was a member of Epley Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Eddie Edge of Lewisburg and Pat Edge of Russellville; a daughter, Carolyn Atkinson of Russellville; five grandchildren; and a sister, Andre Turner of Pennsylvania.

Services are at 2 p.m. Friday at Young Funeral Home, Russellville chapel. Burial will be in Russellville Memorial Gardens. Visitation is after 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Recei Oleta Maxberry

BELTON - Recei Oleta Maxberry, 80, of Belton died Monday, March 18, 2002, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. The Muhlenberg County native retired from Muhlenberg Community Hospital's business office and was a member of Hazel Creek Baptist Church in Belton. Her husband, J.O. Maxberry, died in 1985.

Survivors include a son, Jimmy Maxberry of Greenville; two daughters, Ruthie Shutt of Beech Creek and Gayla Goodman of Belton; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Stella Baker of Adairville and Betty Hunt of Mount Washington.

Services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home. Burial will be in Union Ridge cemetery in Belton. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Wilma Ida Mattingly

Wilma Ida Mattingly, 70, of 665 Danberry Street, Owensboro, died there Friday, March 22, 2002. The Deskle, Italy, native was a homemaker and member of Precious Blood Catholic Church. She enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking, gardening and spending time with her family. Her husband, Charles F. Mattingly, July 5, 2001.

Survivors include a son, Joe Mattingly of Owensboro; three daughters, Violet Higdon, Linda Sweat and Lori Hall, all of Owensboro; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Josko Zimic and Emil Zimic, both of Deskle, Slovenia; and two sisters, Sidonlja Moenik of Nova Gorica, Slovenia, and Nada Massara of Bedford, Western Australia.

Services are at 11 a.m. Monday at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Owensboro. Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro. Prayers will be said at 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice Association, Memorial Fund, 723 Harvard Drive, Owensboro, KY 42301.

Leslie 'Burt' Patterson
8 April 2002

HARTFORD - Leslie "Burt" Patterson, 78, of Gilbertsville died Saturday, April 6, 2002, at Calloway County Hospital in Murray. The Ohio County native retired as a heavy equipment operator and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 181 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1084 in Benton.

Survivors include a son, Don Patterson of Hartford; two daughters, Sandra Magan and Eva Hatfield, both of Owensboro; seven grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; two brothers, Jesse Patterson of Jeffersonville, Ind., and Goebel "Bud" Patterson of Centertown; three sisters, Norma Bishop, Elizabeth Boyd and Wilda Abner, all of Hartford.

Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Duke-Bevil Brothers Funeral Home in Hartford. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery in Hartford. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Bertha Ferris Ferguson
21 March 2002

Bertha Ferris Ferguson, 93, of 3703 Frederica St., Owensboro, died Wednesday, March 20, 2002, at Hillcrest Health Care Center. The Barren County native was a retired teacher, a member of Third Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school. She attended what is now Western Kentucky University and Kentucky Wesleyan College and enjoyed reading and spending time with her children. Her husband, Thomas Clarence "T.C" Ferguson, died June 27, 1988.

Survivors include a son, Dr. Thomas C. Ferguson of Las Vegas; a daughter, Carolyn Seltzer of Columbus, Ind.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Thomas "Doll" Ferris of Lake Station, Ind.

Services are at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at James H. Davis Funeral Home chapel in Owensboro. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Third Baptist Church Christian Life Center, P.O. Box 808, Owensboro, KY 42302.
