HARDINSBURG - Wanda Bolin, 54, of Hardinsburg died Sunday, May 9, 2004, at her home. She was a housewife and a member of Hardinsburg Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Bob Bolin; two sons, Gary Carman and Kenneth Bolin; four daughters, Cheryl Kiper, Telina Carman, Kim Nesmith and Kristin Bolin; her mother, Jennie Stilwell; a brother, Mitchell Stilwell; and two sisters, Lois Tabor and Karen Smith.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg. Burial: Ivy Hill cemetery. Visitation: From 3:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions: Hospice of Central Kentucky.

Graveside services: 3:30 p.m. today at Calhoun cemetery. Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Frances U. McDaniel

Frances U. McDaniel, 89, of Owensboro died Monday, May 10, 2004, at Hillcrest Healthcare Center in Owensboro. She was born May 6, 1915, in Hancock County, the daughter of the late W. Wright and Ida Bell (Jackson) Nugent. She was a homemaker and was a member of Peoples Baptist Church in Owensboro. She enjoyed sewing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert L. McDaniel, in 1988; and a stepson, Sherman, in 2000.

Survivors include a son, Joe and his wife Virginia McDaniel of Owensboro; a stepson, Tommy McDaniel of Vidor, Texas; five daughters, Faye and her husband Joe Hughs of Hopkinton, Mass., Barbara Wilson of Owensboro, Peggy and her husband David Cooper of Pellville, Brenda Cameron of Louisville and Diane Martin of Owensboro; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 13, at Lewisport cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Taylor-Raymond-Spear Funeral Home in Lewisport.

Eileen (Niles) Falkenstein

EVANSVILLE - Eileen (Niles) Falkenstein, 90, of Evansville died Sunday, Mother's Day, May 9, 2004, at Deaconess Hospice Center. Eileen was the eldest of five children born May 2, 1914, to Maude Frank and Arthur Niles, pioneer farming families of southern Indiana in Spencer County. She graduated from Rockport High School at the early age of 16 and later graduated from the Indiana State Teachers College (ISU) in Terre Haute, Ind. She retired from the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corp. and was a member of the Indiana Retired Teachers Association. She was a former member of St. James East United Methodist Church and was presently a member of the McCuthchanville Community Church. She was an avid bridge player and a charter member of the Evansville chapter of the Embroiderer's Guild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph P. Falkenstein; a son, Dr. J. Niles Falkenstein; two sisters, Melba and Kathryn; and her brother, Bill.

She is survived by two daughters, Beth Taylor and her husband Tom of Hilton Head Island, S.C., and Sara Falkenstein of Arlington, Va.; a son, Mark Falkenstein and his wife Suzie of Evansville; a brother, Ralph Niles and his wife Betty of La Porte, Ind.; a stepbrother, Fred Dora of California; five grandchildren, Nick Falkenstein, Fay Thomas, David, Jessica and Steven Ogg; and a great-grandchild, Bruce Thomas.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 13, at Boone Funeral Home, East Chapel, 5330 Washington Ave., Evansville, officiated by the Rev. Robert Vester and Jarmon Perkins. Burial will be in Alexander cemetery near Rockport, Ind. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today, May 12, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to McCuthchanville Community Church Building Fund or the Deaconess Ohio Valley Hospice.

Elaine Grey Himes Crea

HARTFORD - Elaine Grey Himes Crea, 58, of 212 E. Kirk St., Hartford, died Tuesday, May 11, 2004, at 11:09 p.m. at home. She was born on Aug. 18, 1945, in Hartford to the late Arrel Himes and Lucille Felty Himes. She retired as a data processor from Ohio County Hospital and was a member of Hartford Second Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a niece, Theresa Watkins, on June 10, 1988.

Survivors include her husband, Robert "Bob" Crea of Hartford; a daughter, Andrea Lane Coleman and her husband Kenneth Coleman of Auburn; two grandchildren, Nicholas Robert Coleman and Grace Elaine Coleman, both of Auburn; a brother, Arrel R. Himes of Hartford; a sister, Lucille Carrol Hoagland of Bowling Green; four nephews, Mark Himes of Hartford, David Himes of Baizetown, Eric Hoagland of Louisville and Kelly Embry of Bowling Green; and a niece, Shannon Ashby of Hartford.

Services are at 11 a.m. Friday, May 14, at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford. Visitation is at the funeral home from 3 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until time of services Friday. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery in Hartford. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Ohio County, 1211 Main St., Hartford, KY 42347.

Jesse Schroader

BEAVER DAM - Jesse Schroader, 92, of Beaver Dam departed this life on Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at his home. He was born Feb. 22, 1912, in Rosine, was a member of Calvary Apostolic Temple in Beaver Dam and had been a farmer most of his life. He loved being on his farm, living for Jesus and being with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lossie Renfrow Schroader, on Oct. 10, 1984; his father, Robert John Schroader, on July 2, 1963; his mother, Annie Schroader, on Feb. 21, 1984; a grandson, Scottie Schroader, on May 14, 1978; three brothers, Robert John Schroader on Jan. 8, 1939, Floyd Schroader on Nov. 6, 1947, and Claudie Schroader, on March 20, 1996; two sisters, Margie Midkiff on Feb. 16, 1979, and Thelma Parks, on July 13, 1995.

He is survived by two sons, Amel Schroader and his wife Velma of Dundee and Leonard Schroader and his wife Ruth of Hartford; two daughters, Doris Rudder of Beaver Dam and Carolyn June Matthews and her husband David of Beaver Dam; a brother, Ira Schroader of Hartford; two sisters, Sylvia Wright of Hartford and Vergie Leach of Beaver Dam; 11 grandchildren, Paul, Mike, Allen and Kevin Schroader, Janet Schroader, Sonya Southard, Tonya Johnson, Kathy Shelton, Richard Brown, April Lindsey and Marcus Matthews; 20 great-grandchildren, Brandon, Mandy, Dillion, Logan, Michael, Christopher, Heather, Kyle and Kara Schroader, Elicia Fulton, Mathew and Dimond Shelton, C.J. and Tish Bowlds, Stephen, Phillip and Stephanie Kirby and Destiny and Janessa Lindsey; and a special friend, Gerald Shreve.

Funeral services will be at Duke-Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Hartford at 2 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Sunnyside cemetery in Beaver Dam. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 4 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Thomas Andrew Redder

Thomas Andrew Redder, 37, of 7820 Curdsville-Delaware Road died Monday, May 10, 2004, at his home. He was born on June 9, 1967, in Disputanta, Va., and was employed by Superior Systems Inc. as a salesman. He was a Desert Storm veteran and a member of the Christian faith. He enjoyed Dallas Cowboys football and was an avid book reader. He enjoyed spending time with his fiancee and his pets. He was preceded in death by his parents, Connie Redder and Andrew Redder; and a brother, Tony Redder.

Survivors include his fiancee, Renee Damin of Owensboro; and a daughter, Charllotte A. Redder of Fort Smith, Ark.

Graveside services are at 2 p.m. today at Rosehill cemetery. Burial will be in Rosehill cemetery. The Rev. Farrell Isenberg will officiate. The family wishes expressions of sympathy to take the form of donations to Thomas A. Redder Memorial Fund. Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Thomas Barton Mattingly

SPRINGFIELD - Thomas Barton Mattingly, 77, of 1495 Old E-town Road, Springfield died Tuesday, June 8, 2004, at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. He was a farmer and an Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Walter Mattingly and Emma Badgett; a brother, Adrian Mattingly; and a sister, Anna Mary Bowman.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Marie Wheatley Mattingly; four sons, Donnie Mattingly, Billy Mattingly, Wayne Mattingly and Timmy Mattingly; four daughters, Judy Hatchett, Jeanette Wehr, Sandy Medley and Donna Gail Triplett; a brother, Jim Mattingly; a sister, Rose Thompson; 20 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services are at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Rose Catholic Church in Springfield. Burial will be in St. Rose cemetery. Prayers will be said at 7 p.m. today at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home in Springfield.

Margaret Eloise Stewart Gordon

Margaret Eloise Stewart Gordon, 83, of Owensboro died Saturday, May 8, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She worked in retail sales and was a member of Seven Hills Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Rick Gordon; and a brother, J.D. Stewart.

Services are private. Glenn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ray Donald Buckman

Ray Donald Buckman, 73, died Tuesday, June 8, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was preceded in death by his parents, L.E. and Carmen Buckman; and a brother, Charles Edward Buckman.

Survivors are two brothers, James R. and Larry Lee Buckman; a sister, Margaret B. Nally; a sister-in-law, Margaret Buckman; and several nieces and nephews.

Services are at 1 p.m. Friday at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield. Burial will be in Odd Fellows cemetery in Morganfield. Visitation is after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Wilma Rymer Holbrook

BOWLING GREEN - Wilma Rymer Holbrook, 86, of Bowling Green, formerly of Owensboro, died Monday, May 10, 2004. She was born in McWhorter, W.Va., daughter of the late Ervin and Rebecca Louther Rymer. She was a charter member of Lewis Lane Baptist Church, a Girl Scout leader, a past member of Daviess County Homemakers Club and retired from Owensboro-Daviess County Hospital. Her husband, John S. Holbrook, died in August 1978; a sister, Marian Rogers, died in 1991; and a brother, Herbert Rymer, died in World War II on Iwo Jima.

Surviving is a daughter, Rebecca Curry Saalwaechter and son-in-law, Darrell of Bowling Green; three grandchildren, Nathan Curry of Bowling Green and Hannah Curry of Atlanta (children of the late Dr. Lerond Curry); and John Paul Saalwaechter of Bowling Green.

Services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home. Visitation is at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 to 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Rosehill cemetery. The family wishes expressions of sympathy to take the form of donations to Kentucky Baptist Homes for Children, 2720 Frederica St., Owensboro, KY 42301 or Kosair Children's Hospital, 234 E. Gray St., Suite No. 450, Louisville, KY 40202.

William L. Gerteisen Sr.

William L. Gerteisen Sr., 81, of 1018 Audubon Ave., Owensboro, died Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born May 4, 1923, to the late Thomas Jefferson and Mary Jessie Birkhead Gerteisen, in Daviess County. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in China, Burma and India. He enjoyed his work, farming, home renovation and being with his family. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ronda Goetz, who died Feb. 7, 1999; and a granddaughter, Shonna Wiggs, who died on Aug. 3, 1993.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Mildred Evans Gerteisen of Owensboro; three sons and their wives, Bill and Glenda Gerteisen Jr., Jordan and Mary Gerteisen and David and Tina Gerteisen, all of Owensboro; five daughters, Becky and Jerry Johnson, Jeannie Lawrence, Brenda Gerteisen and Gail Wiggs, all of Owensboro, and Sue and Mike Riccitelli of Phoenix; 25 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ernestine Camp of Owensboro and Evelyn Hardesty of Florida.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 16, at Glenn Funeral Home, with visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Owensboro Memorial Gardens, with military honors provided by VFW Post No. 696. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 319 W. 10th St., Owensboro, KY 42301.
