Jacob Evan Whitt 14, of Calhoun, Kentucky. Died Sunday, January 5, 2003 at the Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville. He was a Calhoun Native, was a Freshman in the Class of 2006 at McLean County High School, was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Greenville, and was a member of the Youth Group at the Calhoun Baptist Church. He was active in several organizations at school and was a current member of the Academic Team, a member of the Future Business Leaders of America, Family Career and Community Leaders of America, Science Club and was voted “Mr. Freshman” by his class at school. He served as chairman of the Calhoun Baptist Youth Group’s American Cancer Society ‘Relay for Life’ Team, and was also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Students. He was a participant in the Duke University Talent Identification Program, and was a participant in Math Counts, winning the Regional Level and competing at the State Level. He also enjoyed basketball, baseball, and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his parents Keith & Deanie Todd Whitt. A brother Josh Whitt at home. His grandparents Bobby & Jonelle Todd of Greenville, Bob & Pat Hyde of Livermore, and Darrel & Wanda Whitt of Winslow, Indiana. Great Grandparents Lelia Shanks of Greenville, and Wilma Lee Whitt of Petersburg, Indiana. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Calhoun Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Calhoun cemetery. Visitation is from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and from 9:00 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. Wednesday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Jacob Evan Whitt, Memorial Math Scholarship Fund; C/O B.B. & T.; P.O. Box 130; Calhoun, Kentucky 42327. Evaline Willis Taylor 79, of Owensboro, Kentucky. Died Saturday February 15, 2003 at the Owensboro Mercy Health Systems in Owensboro. She was born in Salyersville, Kentucky, was a homemaker, and a member of the Island Church of God of Prophecy. She enjoyed fellowship with her church family and visiting with people. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Boyd A. Willis, Sr died November 24, 1973; her second husband, Lester Taylor died February 9, 1984; and a daughter Donna L. Whitmer died September 19, 1998.

Survivors include a son Boyd A. “Buddy” Willis, Jr of Lewisport. Three daughters Evelyn Carol Harper of Lewisport, Nelda Elaine Volz of Rockport, Indiana, and Rhonda Sue Fulkerson of Lexington. 15 grandchildren. 2 step grandchildren. 10 great grandchildren. And a sister Vivian Lewis of Hartford.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Burial will be in the Macedonia Baptist cemetery in Breckenridge County. Visitation is from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Sunday and from 9:00 A.M. until time of services Monday at the funeral home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Island Church of God of Prophecy, Building Fund; P.O. Box 254; Island, Kentucky 42350. Donald Lindsey

Donald Lindsey 62, of Henderson, Kentucky. Died Saturday March 8, 2003 at the Methodist Hospital in Henderson, Kentucky. He was born in Sacramento, Kentucky and enjoyed fishing and University of Kentucky Basketball.

Survivors include a son Steven Lindsey of Indiana. Two daughters Debbie Lindsey and Donna Lindsey both of Indiana. 5 grandchildren. A sister Doris Gibson of Spottsville. And three nieces.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday at the New Cypress cemetery in McLean County. There will be no visitation. Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel is in charge of the funeral arrangements. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the New Cypress cemetery Fund; C/O Wilma Nall; 4522 Kentucky 81 South; Rumsey, Kentucky 42371. Anna Ruth Dame

Anna Ruth Dame 90, of Rumsey, Kentucky. Died Thursday January 9, 2003 at the Owensboro Mercy Health Systems in Owensboro. The Rumsey Native was a homemaker, a member of the Station Baptist Church, and attended the Rumsey United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, was an active member of the McLean County Senior Citizens for more than 30 years, and was “McLean County’s Own Minnie Pearl” in senior citizens programs. Her husband, Marcus Dame died August 12, 1990.

Survivors include three nephews Oswald “Buster” Austin of Calhoun, Ted Dame of Calhoun, and Charles Dame of Rumsey. And great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Burial will be in the Station Baptist cemetery in McLean County. Visitation is from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday and from 8:00 A.M. until time of services Saturday at the funeral home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Station Baptist cemetery Fund; C/O Austin Riley; 7633 Kentucky 81 South; Island, Kentucky 42350. Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Noble A. Howard 79, of Louisville, Kentucky; formerly of McLean County. Died Saturday January 11, 2003 at his home in Louisville. He was born in McLean County, was a retired superintendent from Alcoa Aluminum Company, and was a member of the Livermore United Methodist Church. He was an Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II, was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #3636, and was a member of the American Legion Post in Maderia Beach, Florida. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Howard.

Survivors include his wife Lois Jones Howard. A son and daughter-in-law William & Pam Howard of Benton, Kentucky. Two daughters and a son-in-law Brenda H. & Jim Klein, and Donna M. Roy all of Louisville. 8 grandchildren. 4 great grandchildren. And five sisters Louise Cundiff, Margaret Shahan both of Owensboro, Betty Murphy of Ft. Worth, Texas, Reta Smith of Plantation, Florida, and Patsy Sutherlin of Island.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel. Burial will be in the Oak Hill cemetery in Livermore with Military Honors conducted by the 101st Airborne Division. Visitation is from 12:30 P.M. until time of services Monday at the funeral home.

Herbert C. Bray

Herbert C. Bray 75, of Calhoun, Kentucky. Died Sunday January 26, 2003 at the Owensboro Mercy Health Systems in Owensboro. He was born in Island, was a retired coal miner, and a member of the Calhoun Baptist Church. He also enjoyed playing music, hunting, and fishing.

Survivors include three daughters Shirley Middleton, Evelyn Davis, and Carolyn Middleton all of Stanley. 8 grandchildren. 14 great grandchildren. Two sisters Mildred Powell of Logansport, Indiana, and Bonnie Alfred of California. And several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Burial will be in the Nickel Ridge cemetery in Panther. Visitation is from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday and from 9:00 A.M. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Herbert C. Otis L. Griffin, Sr. 88, of Beech Grove, Kentucky. Died Sunday March 2, 2003 at the Owensboro Mercy Health Systems in Owensboro. He was born in Henderson County, was a retired farmer, and a member of the McLean County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed University of Kentucky Basketball, and hunting.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years Jessie Lee Hoover Griffin. Two sons Otis L. Griffin, Jr of Beech Grove, and Larry J. Griffin of Friendly Village. 7 grandchildren. 10 great grandchildren. And a great great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill cemetery in Elba. Visitation is from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday and from 9:00 A.M. until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home. Wavie Arnold 95, of Sacramento. Died Friday January 17, 2003 at the Riverside Manor Health Care Center in Calhoun. She was born in McLean County, was a homemaker a member of the Baptist Faith. She enjoyed sewing and quilting.

Survivors include three nephews Delmer Gayle Arnold, Lyndall Dale Arnold both of Sacramento, and Norville Glenn Arnold of Livermore. And her guardian of several years Terri Coakley of Madisonville.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Burial will be in the Poplar Grove cemetery in McLean County. Visitation is from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Sunday and from 8:00 until time of services Monday at the funeral home. Jewell W. Thomas 77, of Rumsey, Kentucky. Died Saturday January 18, 2003 at the Owensboro Mercy Health Systems in Owensboro. She was born in McLean County, had retired from the General Electric Corporation of Owensboro, and was a member of the Pack Baptist Church in McLean County. She also enjoyed growing and caring for her flowers.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years Jay Thomas. Two sons Donald Thomas of Indianapolis, and Doug Thomas of Marietta, Ohio. 5 grandchildren. 2 great grandchildren. And two brothers Darrell Woosley, and Kenneth Woosley both of Rumsey.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Burial will be in the Calhoun cemetery. Visitation is from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday and from 8:00 A.M. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home. Printha “Pat” Seneff 72, of Utica, Kentucky. Died Thursday, January 23, 2003 at the Owensboro Mercy Health Systems in Owensboro. She was born in South Bend, Indiana, was a homemaker, and a tax preparer for H & R Block of Owensboro. She also worked as a bookkeeper, served as the secretary / treasurer for Casey’s Rides, Incorporated, and was a member of the Relevant Faith. She enjoyed being a grandmother, a great grandmother, watching basketball, and ice skating.

Survivors include her husband Casey Seneff. Two daughters Brenda McKinney and Linda Evans both of Owensboro. 9 grandchildren. 8 great grandchildren. Three brothers Rodean Lashbrook, Edwin Lashbrook both of California, and Preston Lashbrook of Indiana. And a twin sister Donnabelle Foster of Indiana.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M. Friday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Burial will be in the Sugarland Memory Gardens in Washington, Indiana. Visitation is from 4:00 P.M. until time of services Friday at the funeral home.
