Albert B. Wigginton 99, of Lakewood, Washington; formerly of Beaver Dam, Kentucky. Died Monday September 29, 2003 at the University Place Care Center in Washington. Albert Wigginton was born September 5, 1904 in Buttonsberry, Kentucky to the late Rev. Horace & Hallie Wigginton. He was a farmer, had retired from the Willard Storage Battery Company of Cleveland, Ohio, and was a member of the Beaver Dam Baptist Church. His wife, Mary G. Wigginton died July 18, 1996.

Survivors include a daughter & her husband Lettye & Phil Appleby of Lakewood. 4 grandchildren. And 5 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel with the Rev. Glenn Armstrong officiating. Burial will be in the Island Baptist cemetery. Friends may visit with the Wigginton Family from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Thursday and from 8:00 A.M. until time of services Friday at Musters in Livermore. The Wigginton Family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Island Baptist cemetery Fund; C/O Joe Howell; 835 Doug Hill Road; Island, Kentucky 42350. Paul Ruby 42, of Rumsey, Kentucky. Died Monday August 11, 2003 due to injuries suffered in an automobile accident near Livermore. He was born February 23, 1961 in McLean County to the late Ed & Geneva Taylor Ruby and had worked at the Ragu Plant in Owensboro. He was preceded in death by a brother Lanny Ruby, died in 1985.

Survivors include four brothers Terry Ruby, Allen Ruby both of Livermore, David Ruby of Island, and Michael Ruby of Livermore. Two sisters Judy Towery of Calhoun, and Teresa Adkins of Maceo. Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 4:30 P.M. Wednesday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with Rev. Jeff French officiating. Burial will be in the Calhoun cemetery. Friends may visit with the Ruby Family from 1:30 P.M. until time of services Wednesday at Musters in Calhoun. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Paul Ruby, Memorial Fund; C/O Independence Bank; P.O. Box 39; Livermore, Kentucky 42352. Amanda Corrinne Miller

Amanda Corrinne Miller 95, of Livermore, Kentucky. Died Tuesday August 12, 2003 at the Leisure Years Nursing Home in Owensboro. Amanda Corrinne was born December 28, 1907 in McLean County to the late John & Leta Houston Murphy. She was a homemaker and was a charter member of the Pleasant Hope General Baptist Church in McLean County. She was preceded in death by the father of her children, J.B. Miller died in July of 1983; and a son, Bradley Miller died in March 0f 1993.

Survivors include two sons Kerry Miller of Livermore, and Larry Miller of Owensboro. A daughter and her husband, Judith & John “Red” Boyken of Calhoun. 12 grandchildren. 16 great grandchildren. A great great granddaughter. And two nieces Carol Coffman of Columbia, South Carolina and Betty Sue Davis of Owenboro.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel with Rev. Ron Hampton officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hope cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with the Miller Family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday and from 9:00 A.M. until time of services Thursday at Musters in Livermore. Lillian E. Richardson 93, of Calhoun, Kentucky. Died Friday August 15, 2003 at the Riverside Manor Health Care Center in Calhoun. Lillian Elizabeth was born April 10, 1910 in the McLean County Area of Nuckols to the late John & Nannie Belle Carman Thomas. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pleasant Hope General Baptist Church where she had worked in the Church Nursery for more than 25 years. Lillian also enjoyed playing golf and bowling. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loren “Tom” Richardson and a son, Jimmy Richardson.

Survivors include a son & his wife Joe & Barbara Richardson of Glenville. A daughter Betty Bolton of Calhoun. A daughter-in-law Alice Richardson of Fayetteville, North Carolina. 6 grandchildren. 6 great grandchildren. And two sisters Louise King of Livermore and Christine Wiggins of Owensboro.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with Rev. Ron Hampton and Rev. Steve Dame officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hope cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with the Richardson Family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Sunday and from 9:00 A.M. until time of services Monday at Musters in Calhoun. Adele Goebel Meyer

Adele Goebel Meyer 87, of 2701 Frederica Street; Owensboro, Kentucky. Died Wednesday, August 13, 2003 at her home in Owensboro. Adele Goebel was born February 17, 1916 in Cincinnati to the late Leonard & Mary Wessel Goebel and was married June 23, 1937 to Karl Joseph Meyer, Jr at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hyde Park, Cincinnati. Adele then moved to Livermore where she lived for more than 63 years. She was an active member of the St. Charles Catholic Church in Livermore, where she served on the parish council, maintained the alter linens over the years, and in 1946 was instrumental in seeing that the elementary school children of the parish were able to obtain a Catholic school education. Adele was a member of the Livermore Woman’s Club for more than 50 years, serving as the President from 1962 to 1964, and was a board member of the Livermore Community Library. She was active in many community projects throughout her life. Her husband of 62 years, K.J. Meyer, Jr died December 9, 1999; she was also preceded in death by a sister, Helen Goebel Hewston and by a brother, Francis Goebel.

Survivors include a daughter & son-in-law Gretchen Ann & Dr. Garry Binegar of Owensboro. Two sons & daughters-in-law Col. John Stephen & Linda Robertson Meyer of Tell City, Indiana and James Eric & Judith S. Meyer of Raleigh, North Carolina. 12 grandchildren. 15 great grandchildren. A niece Patricia Hewston Uhl of Cincinnati. And a brother-in-law & sister-in-law Mr. & Mrs. J. Gerth Meyer of Brentwood, Tennessee.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the St. Charles Catholic Church in Livermore with Father Edward Bradley and Father Ben Luther officiating. Burial will be in the St. Charles cemetery in Livermore. Friends may visit with the Meyer Family from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday and from 9:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. Saturday at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel. Prayer services for Mrs. Meyer will be held at 4:30 P.M. Friday at Musters in Livermore. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Livermore Community Library; P.O. Box 188; Livermore, Kentucky 42352 or Hospice Association, Inc; 723 Harvard Drive; Owensboro, Kentucky 42301. Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Livermore.

Thomas DeVane Crawley 50, of Oldsmar, Florida; formerly of Calhoun, Kentucky. Died Sunday August 17, 2003 in Oldsmar. Thomas DeVane was born January 20, 1953 in Savannah, Georgia to the late T.H. “Herb” & Dixie Cox Crawley and was a member of the Calhoun Christian Church. He was a 1971 Graduate of Calhoun High School and attended Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green. He was the manager of The Fox Jazz Club in Tampa and also enjoyed playing golf, reading, and riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle.

Survivors include a sister & brother-in-law Kathleen & Joe Vandiver of Trinity, Florida.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M. Friday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Rev. Ken Berggren officiating. Friends may visit with the Crawley Family from 4:00 P.M. until time of services Friday at Musters in Calhoun. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the McLean County History & Genealogy Museum; P.O. Box 34; Calhoun, Kentucky 42327. Murray Boyken

Murray Boyken 73, of 1776 Ivan Brown Road; Island, Kentucky. Died Sunday August 24, 2003 at his home. Murray was born August 4, 1930 in Island to the late Clyde & Alma Boyken and married the former Jewell Davis on June 25, 1955 in Livermore. He had earlier worked as a coal miner, logger but enjoyed his current daily tasks and working with the cattle on his farm. Murray especially enjoyed his family, friends, and everything in nature and being able to watch them grow.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Jewell. Two daughters & a son-in-law Judy Woosley of Livermore, and Cheri & Chris Hall of Rockfield, Kentucky. Two sons and a daughter-in-law Murray Lee Boyken of Island, and Terry Lynn & Joyce Boyken of Madisonville. Seven grandchildren Murray Neal Woosley, LeAnn Woosley both of Livermore, Melody Hall, Bradley Hall both of Rockfield, Stephen Boyken, Crystal Boyken, and Amber Boyken all of Madisonville. Four brothers Glendle Boyken of Owensboro, Clyde Boyken of Hartford, Hugh Boyken of Calhoun, and Harlan Boyken of Island. Four half brothers Gene Bray of Livermore, Donnie Bray of Maceo, Roy Bray of Island, and Tony Bray of Calhoun. And a sister Gwendella Riley of Stanley.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Rev. Barney Priar officiating. Burial will be in the Island Community cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with the Boyken Family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday and from 9:00 A.M. until time of services Wednesday at Musters in Calhoun.

Gladys Ford Bates

Gladys Ford Bates 76, of Omaha, Nebraska; formerly of Island, Kentucky and Council Bluffs, Iowa. Died Wednesday August 27, 2003 at the Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha. Gladys was born April 3, 1927 in Drakesboro to the late John & Zella Ford. She was a homemaker and formerly attended the Church Street Baptist Church in Bremen. Her husband of 47 years, Ernest Bates, Sr died November 23, 1990. She was also preceded in death by a son, Paul Bates died in 1958; a brother Charles Ford died April 21, 1983, and a sister Mary Bates died November 16, 1944.

Survivors include five children and their spouses Ernest & Nancy Bates, Jr of Island, Dan & Jan Bates of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Sharon & Tom Grosse of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Judy & Steve Wood of Omaha, and Ed & Darlene Bates of Neola, Iowa. 11 grandchildren. 5 great grandchildren. Four brothers Bill Ford of Jacksonville, Florida, Sidney Ford of Bremen, Henry Ford of Owensboro, and Roy Ford of Greenville. A sister Mary “Patty” Phillips of Henderson. Several nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Rev. Danny Greene officiating. Burial will be in the Island Community cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with the Bates Family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday and from 9:00 A.M. until time of services Saturday at Musters in Calhoun. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gladys Ford Bates, Memorial Fund; C/O Muster Funeral Homes; P.O. Box 160; Calhoun, Kentucky 42327. Neda Penrod 51, of Calhoun, Kentucky. Died Friday August 29, 2003 at the Owensboro Mercy Health Systems. Neda was born September 26, 1951 in Owensboro to Don and Lorene Riggs Penrod. She attended Owensboro Christian Church and also attended Almost Family in Owensboro.

Survivors include her parents Don & Lorene Penrod of Calhoun. A brother and his wife Hugh & Janet Penrod of Livermore. A sister and her husband Donna & Mike Elder of Owensboro. And a special aunt through the years, Nadine Riggs Bennett of Owensboro.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Rev. Myke Templeton officiating. Burial will be in the Calhoun cemetery. Friends may visit with the Penrod Family from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Saturday and from 12:00 P.M. (Noon) until time of services Sunday at Musters in Calhoun.

Alma Roberts 85, of 2305 Ponder Place; Owensboro, Kentucky; formerly of Sacramento. Died Tuesday August 26, 2003 at the Bon Harbor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Owensboro. Alma was born October 20, 1917 in McLean County to the late Stanley and Rhoda Vanover Crabtree. She had formerly worked as a hairdresser at her home in Sacramento and was a member of the Worthington Chapel United Methodist Church in McLean County. Her husband, Howard Roberts died February 22, 1983.

Survivors include a son William H. Roberts of Owensboro. And a sister Mary Gregory of Greenville.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Rev. Norman O’Neal officiating. Burial will be in the New Cypress cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with the Roberts Family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday and from 9:00 A.M. until time of services Friday at Musters in Calhoun. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the New Cypress cemetery Fund; C/O Wilma Nall; 4522 Kentucky 81 South; Rumsey, Kentucky 42371.
