Thelma Hayden Collings 71, of Glenville, Kentucky. Died Monday September 1, 2003 at her home. Thelma was born November 23, 1931 in Calhoun to the late Les & Zilpah Robertson Hayden and married Edwin Collings in January of 1950 at Mason City, Iowa. She had retired as a rural carrier from the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of the St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Calhoun. Thelma was a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels and was the 2003 Recipient of the Sophia Wisdom Award at St. Sebastian from the Owensboro Diocese. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Beatrice Collings died in 1955.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Edwin. 11 children Belinda Thomson, Carol Hulette, Joe Collings, Cathy Stewart, Jane Gotowicki, Jeannie Hope, David Collings, Lori English, Ellen Cole, Amy Collings, and Jeremy Collings. 10 grandchildren. 5 great grandchildren. And two brothers J.W. Hayden and Bob Hayden.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Calhoun with Father Maury Riney officiating. Burial will be in the Calhoun cemetery. Friends may visit with the Collings Family from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday and from 8:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. Thursday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Building Fund; 180 Kentucky 136 West; Calhoun, Kentucky 42327. Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Calhoun.

Jessie “Buck” Eubanks 66, of Beech Grove, Kentucky. Died Saturday September 6, 2003 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. Jessie Eubanks was born January 19, 1937 in Sacramento to Guy & Jody Eubanks and was known as “Buck” to his friends. He was married to the former Janice Minton on September 16, 1958 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Buck was a member of the Beech Grove United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Janice. Three sons and their wives Dale & Dana Eubanks, Larry Eubanks all of Calhoun, and Farren & Carla Eubanks of Beech Grove. 10 grandchildren. A great grandchild. His mother, Jodie Eubanks of Beech Grove. A brother Eddie Eubanks of Duncan, Oklahoma. And a sister, Mary Alice Taylor of Calhoun.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Rev Charles Rogers and the Rev. Jim Midkiff officiating. Burial will be in the Bethel cemetery in Beech Grove. Friends may visit with the Eubanks Family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday and from 9:00 A.M. until time of services Wednesday at Musters in Calhoun. The Eubanks Family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Bethel cemetery Fund; C/O Mrs. W.T. Lee; 190 Smith Street; Calhoun, Kentucky 42327.

Jerry "Goat" Wigginton
Born: 10/23/1937

Funeral Service: 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, 08-13-2003 at the Buck Creek Baptist Church

Jerry “Goat” Wigginton 65, of Nuckols, Kentucky. Died Sunday August 10, 2003 at his home. He was born October 23, 1937 in McLean County to the late Delbert & Lattie Mae Wigginton and was married to the former Irene Fay Burkhardt on June 25, 1955 at the Seven Hills Baptist Church in Owensboro. He was a farmer, was a member of the Buck Creek Baptist Church, and was also a member of the 123rd Armored Tank Division of the U.S. Army. Jerry received fulfillment from helping his friends and neighbors.

Survivors include his wife, Irene. Two sons and a daughter-in-law Jerry Dale Wigginton of Nuckols, and Ricky & Elizabeth Wigginton of Island. A daughter Julie McCormick of Owensboro. And five grandchildren Matthew Hallden, Andrew Hallden, Natalee McCormick all of Owensboro, Kirt Wigginton of Island, and Alex Wigginton of Georgetown.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Buck Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff French officiating. Burial will be in the Old Buck Creek cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with the Wigginton Family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday and from 9:00 A.M. until 1:30 P.M. Wednesday at Musters in Calhoun. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Buck Creek Baptist Church, Building Fund; Rev. Jeff French 4161 Kentucky 431 North; Calhoun, Kentucky 42327. Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Calhoun.

Owen B. Campbell

CALHOUN - Owen B. Campbell, 72, of Calhoun died Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. Owen was born on June 25, 1931, in Rumsey to the late Albert and Gracie Campbell. He was retired from the former Green River Steel in Owensboro, was a farmer and a member of Towers Chapel United Methodist Church. Owen enjoyed his family, friends, University of Kentucky basketball and working outside.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, James O. and Youlonda Campbell of Pack and Terry Lee and Jenny Campbell of Calhoun; a daughter and her husband Connie and Jerry Bennett of Beech Grove; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Sylvester Campbell of Florida and Paul Campbell of Evansville; and a sister, Ethel Lindsey of Evansville.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel, with the Rev. Troy Slinker officiating. Burial will be in the New Cypress cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with the Campbell family from 10 a.m. until time of services Friday at Musters in Calhoun.

The Campbell family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Owen B. Campbell Memorial Fund, c/o Muster Funeral Homes, P.O. Box 160, Calhoun, KY 42327. Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Calhoun.

R. Miller Pirtle

MORGANTOWN - R. Miller Pirtle, 89, of Cromwell died Sunday, May 30, 2004, at Ohio County Hospital in Hartford. He was a retired farmer and member of Green River Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Hazel Ann Rayner.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Chapel in Morgantown. Burial: Green River cemetery in Ohio County. Visitation: After 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Amanda Lena Everett Brainard

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Amanda Lena Everett Brainard, 88, of Little Rock passed away Thursday, May 27, 2004. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy R. Harrison.

She is survived by her husband, Allen; a daughter, Janith Smith of Cabot; two sons, James W. Harrison and his wife Phyllis of Dayton, Ohio, and Jack R. Harrison and his wife Betty of Decatur, Ala.; a brother, Joseph Everett of Nelson; 11 grandchildren; and many great- and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 28, at Huson Funeral Home Chapel, 7700 Highway 107, Sherwood, Ark., 834-1191, with Dr. Ray Higgins and Dr. James Thomason officiating. Interment followed at Arkansas State Veterans cemetery in North Little Rock.

Sherman D. Smiley

CLOVERPORT - Sherman D. Smiley, 76, of Cloverport died Monday, May 31, 2004, at Medco Center of Hardinsburg. He was born in Roff on June 10, 1927, the son of the late Henry Dowell Smiley and Nettie Shrewsberry Smiley. He retired from American Olean Tile Co., and was a member of Cloverport Baptist Church and a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Smiley of Cloverport; four daughters, Connie Smiley of Cloverport, Sharon Henning of Hardinsburg, Ann Henderson of Owensboro and Marie Voyles of Avery, Wis.; two sons, Danny Smiley and Jimmy Smiley, both of Cloverport; three sisters, Bessie Howard of Westview, Louise Ruddell of Sellersburg, Ind., and Lotta Woodward of Trenton, Fla.; a brother, Harold Smiley of Louisiana; 17 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 3, at Wallace Funeral Home in Cloverport with the Rev. Truman Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Cloverport cemetery. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, and after 8 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Otto E. Zimmer

DALE, Ind. - Otto E. Zimmer, 85, of Dale died Tuesday, May 31, 2004, at Professional Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was a farmer, a member of Dale United Methodist Church and an Army veteran of the World War II South Pacific Theater.

Survivors include a brother, Leon Zimmer; and a sister, Betty Lou Zimmer.

Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Dale United Methodist Church. Burial: Dale cemetery. Visitation: From 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Fuller Funeral Home and Crematory in Dale.

Taryn Michelle Wright

ATLANTA - Taryn Michelle Wright, infant daughter of Jason and Kathy Wright of Atlanta, died Sunday, May 30, 2004, at Emory Dunwoody Medical Center in Atlanta.

Other survivors include a sister, Morgan Wright of Atlanta; her grandparents, Mary Ann and Gerald Brown of Owensboro, Sam Conkrite of Rockport, Ind., and Joe and Patty Wright of Whitesville; and her great-grandparents, Elizabeth Wright of Owensboro and James and Rose Ann Cecil of Whitesville.

Services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Whitesville. Burial will be in St. Marys cemetery in Whitesville. Visitation is after 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville.

Edward J. 'E.J.' Chmielowiec

LEBANON, Tenn. - Edward J. "E.J." Chmielowiec, 50, of Lebanon, formerly of Owensboro, died Tuesday, June 8, 2004, in Jefferson City, Mo. He was born on Dec. 28, 1953, to the late Edward John and Anne Ryan Chmielowiec Sr. in Portchester, N.Y. He was a truck driver for Continental Machinery Movers, a member of First General Baptist Church in Owensboro and Promise Keepers and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his loving circle of family, which includes his wife of 10 years, Debbie Chmielowiec of Lebanon; three sons, Gene Offutt, Darrell Allen and Adrian Offutt; a daughter, Sarah Offutt; and a granddaughter, Madison Davis, all of Lebanon; three sisters-in-law and their husbands, Dotte and Mickey Doss, Carol and Stan Stephens and Sheila and Carl King, all of Boonville, Ind.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 12, at Glenn Funeral Home, with burial in South Hampton Church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the E.J. Chmielowiec Memorial Fund, 402 Dawson Lane, Lebanon, TN 37087.
